I had the spicy tomato penne with chicken. It was so good! I enjoyed the tomato soup as well.
Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was perfect! A lovely place that could work for a family dinner or a date night. Loved their shrimp linguine and tiramisu.
Great food, unbelievably wide variety of daily specials. Attentive service in a nice atmosphere with fresh food served hot and many wines by the glass. Will be back!
Great atmosphere and the food is great as well I love the waiters they remember you & what you like Italian food is my favorite & I love going there it’s comfortable clean & a great neighborhood spot!!! Thank you for always making great food at good prices!!!
I came here last may with my wife and my 2 daughters and had dinner . We had a wonderful time, the food and wine were brilliant , our waiter was exceptional , great service. Only problem, it's a long way to travel from Perth Australia , hope someday I can come back.
The greatest service in the world. Carlos recognized me immediately 5 years later. His team and him are incredible, not to mention the best Italian above 60th st. I’ll be back for years.
Excellent service and great ambiance. We felt welcomed and well taken care of. The food was fantastic, we will definitely come back.
Great experience! Service was phenomenal. I was there with a client and appreciate all the patience from staff
Everything here was SO tasty and fresh - especially the Pansotti in salsa di noce e pignoli. They took great care of us!
Excellent service level, children friendly and truly Italian food (so, delicious). If you like desserts, try the tiramisu (worth the $30).
Wonderful place! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly. We had a great time!
Friendly, courteous staff. Delicious, well prepared dishes. Enjoyed by the locals. Highly recommended.
Food was good and so was the service. Nice dining atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Was here for lunch.
Wonderful little hole in the wall , AMAZING service. Will be our new go-to!
I've been twice and loved it both times. It is one of my top 5 NYC Italian restaurants.
Lovely neighborhood spot for a date night! The pasta here is always on point! This restaurant has become one of our go to’s, will be back again soon.
We walked in with a reservation for Saturday lunch. The gnocchi was fantastic. As was the the ravioli. A short walk from Bloomingdales. Very romantic and the service was superb. Pricing was reasonable for upper east side dining. The Gnocchi was reasonably priced for lunch at $14. The portion was generous. A must in upper east side. In a nutshell quiet and romantic setting with superb Italian fare.
The pasta with meat sauce is the best we ever had. That's from my wife and son as well. The service was spot on and all the appetizers and entrees were fresh and delicious. I had the tiramisu, fresh, fresh and fresh!
Wonderful food and service at a reasonable price. My 2nd time here in less than 2 weeks.

The most kind gem in NYC, as a regular solo diner I find this the most cozy to treat myself to a very long dinner and enjoy whatever the chef selects. Perfect in summer outside and cozy in the winter. Prices are perfect and the food is always amazing. Servers—- ask for Charlie— so sweet and attentive.
Had an early dinner/very late lunch here. Cozy little place, traditional Italian, white tablecloths.. Service was fine. Didnt order wine, so can't comment on it. Loved the food. Whoever makes sauces there is a sauce genius.
If your looking for a great lunch and enjoy excellent food Barbaresco should be on your list of special places. Today the mushroom soup followed by the ravioli with cheese and mushrooms was perfect. A great atmosphere run by Carlos the head waiter.
If you are looking for a cozy and authentic Italian restaurant in New York City, you should definitely check out Barbaresco on Lexington Avenue. I have been eating there for more than five years now, and I can honestly say that it is one of my favorite places to enjoy a delicious meal. But what makes Barbaresco truly special is the warm and friendly service. The restaurant manager, Charlie, is like a father figure to me. He always chats with me and shares his life experience with me. He has shown me pictures of his house, chickens, and dogs. He has also given me many suggestions about dating and marriage. He is a great asset for any restaurant in NYC. Barbaresco is not just a restaurant, it is a home away from home. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Italian food and culture. You will not be disappointed!
Awesome little Italian place. The service was fantastic the waiter really looked after us, took time to get know us and made us laugh. Such a friendly place. The food was really good and not too expensive at all. Highly recommended

Old fashioned, but very authentic Italian cuisine. Good flavors, quality ingredients, and even the tiramisu was light and wet, just like it’s supposed to. Decor a bit outdated, but matches the clientele.
Wonderful pasta dishes. Veal was a little tough. Great service!
Barbaresco is a very nice place to have a relaxing meal. The food is very good. I suggest ordering from the menu. The specials can be much more expensive.
It is very nice. Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. We had lunch here and all of our meals were very good.
Good food and service. Nice menu with no exceptions. Will gladly return.
Another average Italian restaurant on the UES
Wonderful hospitality and service. Great local spots with warm and welcoming staff ! Traditional italian eatery.
Had an excellent hearty lunch of tomato soup, salmon, branzino, pasta & tiramisu for dessert.
Good food polite service and warm ambience. Cozy place, traditional Italian dishes well prepared.
Outdoor seating not comfortable and very hot I asked for my salmon rare and he promised he would give it to me that way and it came medium and dry would not recommend this place
If you’re looking for an average meal in a stiff, formal setting, this is your place!
I'm not even sure what's worse- the food or the service. The place has nothing to do with Italian flavors or hospitality. It looks like a pretentious pseudo-Italian dive-in for local Upper East Side rich drunkard grannies. The food is just bland. The wine list is non-existent. When I asked what producer or vintage the Chianti by the glass was, the waiter said - "It's Chianti Classico". No kidding. He poured a glass at the bar and brought it to me. The wine tasted like mass-produced b/s, and its temperature was between 95-100 degrees. Always disappointing to see places like this in the city with such rich Italian history. I'd continue going Brooklyn or Arthur Ave in the Bronx for genuine Italian flavors and atmosphere, an let the East Side crowd to indulge in this... Chao!
This used to be my favorite italian restaurant for many years. But now prices are absurd and the food quality is down the drain. As an example, among antipasti an item called "prosciutto with fresh fuit", you get three slices of canteloni and a shred of prosciutto, all for $16 (sixteen!). I also had a zucchini-potato soup for $16 that was oversalted and otherwise without flavor.
Very bad service. Waiter never understood what I was asking for. Then, when the plate was on my table and I asked for it to be changed, they didn’t have anything to do so. Food is nothing but common and boring. Very bad manners and taste. I highly recommend not to go there. Terrible pretentious and cheesy.

Very small menu, there is no choice. Awful service, the waiter did not give to understand the menu, he said that if we do not order immediately, we must leave, because he needs a table
Dreadful place. Absolutely terrible. The waiter who served us — a tall nasty boorish man — could not have been more rude & unpleasant. The wine was banal & overpriced. The food was atrocious & overpriced. The service was rushed & slapdash. The worst dining experience I have ever had anywhere. Be forewarned.
I didn’t eat there. Website says open till 11pm but when I go there they told me kitchen closed at 9:30pm. Some excuse that they are doing it since Covid but somehow incredulously have not been able to update here
Barberesco offers pleasant service and a good atmosphere, but the experience quickly reveals itself as a tourist trap. No wine list was presented, only a casual prompt of “glass or bottle?” followed by steeply priced pours with little transparency. The food is adequate but not worthy of the premium. The servers were warm and professional and tipped generously, yet the overall value leaves no reason to return.
The staff are extremely disagreeable. I left before ordering. First 1 star review of a restaurant.
If you’re looking to overpay for a mediocre dinner then this is the best place to do it. $12 per bottle for sparkling water, $23 for a glass of red, $52 for the osso-buco special … with no vegetables and I had to season the risotto plus ask for cheese. Tomato and mozzarella app was terrible, sliced tomatoes from the fridge and they bring you the olive oil and balsamic so you can dress it yourself… yeah. With all the Italian joints around, I have no idea how this place is still open. Well, based on the demographics, it won’t be there much longer - no offense here.
Seemed like a nice place to sit and relax and have dinner. The service was alright. You could tell they didn't really care about the quality of the service. It's NY so it's mostly expected from these small restaurants. The food was good, nothing spectacular about it. Now I would have given more than one star, but after reviewing my credit card statement the day after I noticed they added about $9 to the tip after we had left. So I suggest passing this place since its mediocre and they will try and cheat you.
