Gracious hosts excellent service amazing food such friendly staff members they welcome you and interact with you. I was there celebrate my birthday and got a surprised proposal from my boy friend. The staff made such a fabulous fuss over us and made it in to a much more memorable evening.
I took my Boyfriend on the Bateaux dinner cruise for his Birthday (March 2020) and we had a fabulous time! I got the Boarding Photo add on, we were one of the first guest to arrive and the photographer took some lovely photos of us on the deck of the boat with a beautiful sunset in the background. It appears the standard is for the pictures to be taken while you're sitting at your table (she took table pics of us also) and I really appreciate that she offered the deck pics. The food was tasty, especially the butter cake. The music was great, they played a little but of everything. I wish I could remember the server's name because he was excellent and took the attached photo for us. Being so close to The Statue of Liberty was magical. I enjoyed the experience so much that I just booked the 4th of July cruise a few minutes ago!
Really well done NYC cruise in the Hudson and slightly up the East River to see the Manhattan skyline and sights of Hoboken/Jersey City on the one side and Brooklyn on the other. I was on for a company event so I don't know the pricing, but the ambiance was great as expected, the food exceeded expectations and the live music on board was an impressive touch. Up close views of Lady Liberty were hard to beat.
I surprised my date with a Signature Dinner Cruise at Pier 61 for his birthday and we had such a good experience! The manager, Alex was friendly and greeted/acknowledged my date's birthday from the beginning. Our server, Angel was approachable and polite. The photographer Brandon took great photos (had a hard time choosing the best ones) and was helpful in explaining any discounts. The romance package was worth it and made my date feel special with the table enhancements, fresh roses and bottle of wine. The food was pretty good too! I would highly recommend as a date night idea! I will be back for brunch next time. 😋
Awesome experience. I’ve lived in NYC my entire life and didn’t even know about this. Mostly everyone on the boat was a tourist visiting from another country. I got taken here for my 30th birthday yesterday and although it started raining halfway through the boat ride, it was still an awesome experience since the view is perfect from the inside because how the boat is designed. Very personal, romantic, and highly recommended. Our server and the manager were awesome, constantly checking on us and making sure we had a drink since we had the Unlimited Drinks package. Music was very relaxing with a live band. Not really dancing music but it was perfect for a night out on the town with beautiful views and good food. A+ experience Jose Rivera
The Spirit of New York is a great Cruise to relax, have fun, take great photos by New York City landmarks, eat good food and dance it all off. The more than friendly staff provides excellent service and the food is delicious. Order drinks at the bar and head to the dance floor because the DJ is great and what better Ambiance than the New York City skyline and the Hudson River.
I took this tour at night 28 March 2018. The first thing that struck me was how unfailingly friendly, helpful and genuine the entire crew were; they could not do enough to make us feel welcome. Our party of five enjoyed the buffet and the bar but the real treat was to follow once we departed; the Manhattan skyline at night! It blew us all away - including the native New Yorkers among us! The length of the trip gave us ample time to revel in the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge and soak up the experience up on deck. This is an absolute must do for any visitor to the Big Apple and I hope to take more family trips later in the year. Thank you to everyone on the Spirit of New York who helped make our night so very special. We will be back, Conor, Ireland.
City Cruises offers stunning yachts for any type of event. The staff is excellent, and we’re always happy to recommend them to our clients. Berna is especially friendly, responsive, and a pleasure to work with.
What a phenomenal evening aboard the Bateaux! From start to finish, everything was flawless — the ambiance, the service, and especially the food. The staff was attentive and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped aboard. The meal was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious, perfectly complementing the stunning skyline views throughout the cruise. It was a truly memorable experience — elegant, relaxing, and seamless in every way. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Thank you, City Cruises!
My man and I loved our experience on the Bateaux dinner cruise. We got the premier package mostly for the open bar. I was a not expecting too much from the food based of previous previous reviews but the food was delish and the so were the drinks. The host was a very pleasesnt guy and we loved our server. Our server explained the process of the food ordering and pointed out some of the scenic views for us. He made sure we were well taken care off and never let our drinks go empty. Wish I would have wrote down his name so thay he could get kudos but his name started with an A and he is from Indonesia. Great guy! Facilities were very clean and the music was beautiful. Would do this again.
A last minute plan turned out to be the highlight of my trip. I was looking for a place to have a evening dinner and this Cruise was above and beyond. The trip around South Manhattan was smooth, the food delicious, the menu exquisite and the environment right for the dinner. They had a great musician playing live, the staff was very attentive but not in a intrusive way, and last but not least the drinks were phenomenal.
Loved loved loved this experience! I did a 3 hr cruise and it was the perfect amount of time. The food and drinks were good for the cost. And they had a nice jazz band that played music and had a lounge singer who was pretty good. The views of NY were absolutely amazing and as it gets more beautiful as night falls. Then the captain cruises very close by the Statute of Liberty and makes an announcement so you can go outside and get really nice pictures. Great for date night or night out with family and friends. Also good excuse to get dressed up.
The ultimate dinner cruise. We enjoyed a great reasonably priced wine list with great food to match. Amazing scenic views as we went down the Hudson and up the east River. Lady Liberty was the highlight of the evening. Oh! And great cup of coffee to finish. Friendly attentive service. We will go again
So we went on the dinner cruise on the 30 April 2023 the staff there were the most amazing people that treated us with care and laughter and just made sure we were ok all the time. Highlight even though was raining was the band playing New York as we went under the Brooklyn Bridge and seeing the Statue of Liberty. If it wasn’t raining the manager was going to take us to the top deck for a private New York skyline show . Would go back in a heart beat, loved it. Don’t hesitate worth every penny . From Jay and Ants New Zealand 🇳🇿
A really lovely experience. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who is celebrating something. The staff tender to all your needs. The food was perfect and the music made the night even better. We did the evening cruise and the views were fantastic. You can go outside and take pictures when ever you want. However you dont need to go out side as the view from inside is just as good. Theres not a bad seat on board. 😊
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bateaux New York, if ever in the City. Seriously, you'll be WOW'ed the whole time. From getting on to the ship the employees were there with smiles, greeting us and helping the ladies safely step onto the ship. We were immediately seat, once given our ticket. AND let me tell you, any seat you are given has an amazing view! It really felt so nice. Our waitess greeted us and told us the get down with how everything works, i believe five minutes in, but it was great cause you need alll that time to take in the beauty around you. Haha. Let me just say service was excellent, our server was funny, knowledgeable and on it. A manager came around twice to check up on us, and thank us for being here so that was really nice. Food!!! From the fresh seafood platter all the way to the melt in your mouth butter cake everything was delicious! The views! The views were to die for! You could be at your seat, or out on the deck, you'd still have an equally amazing view! **A MUST SEE IN MY BOOKS** And to top it off, they have live music! And she was very nice to listen too, perfect actually for the mood. This was just an amazing experience, which i highly RECOMMEND. Im sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
It was our Holiday office party & there were 32 of us. Each and everyone was WOWED. You barely felt the boat move. The staff was exceptional & went over the top, waited a few minutes to leave in order to wait for the last 2 people in our group. The food was actually good. The mimosas never stopped. The live music just right. It really was a perfect Sunday Afternoon. Thank you very much Bateaux New York.
Came here with a school group and had a lot of fun. The food was delicious, not what I was expecting for a boat buffet. The dancing got extremely hot and humid but still very fun. The crew members were all very nice and helpful. The views were amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone looking to have a good time.
Incredible views with opportunities to not miss anything since they make sure to turn around for everyone to get an espectacular moment to take it all in..Amazing experience, staff was incredible, courteous, welcoming, going above and beyond making sure any need and request was met above expectations! They absolutely make you feel special from the moment you are boarding! Planning my next visit already!! Great music, singers and band were great, easy listening and awesome song choices, my children 16 and 24 as well as us “older folks” loved singing along and enjoyed the sound throughout the entire cruise!
One of the best times of my life!!! I did it for the birthday of my wife, and I thought I messed up because of the fog, but boy was I wrong!!! Beef tasted like butter, the ride was too smooth, and we’ll never forget this day!!! Thank you to Nichy, he was the server that helped accentuate the ambiance, as well as the band and their beautiful music!!!
Great experience! Had an amazing 4th of July in the cruise with amazing views of NYC! The boarding process could be improved, as well as enforcing more order in the buffet. Even if the DJ and manager mentioned that the buffet line was organized per table, many families/groups jumped in without waiting their turn.
What an outstanding dinner cruise on the River Hudson. The food and the service was first class 👌. The live music was amazing with a great repertoire. I cannot praise the cruise company highly enough. 5☆ Don't let any bad weather put you off (however bad it may be) it doesn't make any difference to the trip as the glass top boat is superb.
Pro tip. You can pay for the premium seating if you want. But if you were like me and had it to where we booked it last minute it might be sold out. What we ended up doing is sitting in the first row (or at least close to the front) on the first level. As soon as the doors open, make a mad dash to the front of the ship. You will have an amazing unobstructed view for the entire ride you will just be standing for 2hrs.
We loved our experience at Bateaux. I have tried several different cruises in the city and found it spotless. It is certainly a must, especially for those who want to do something special, as the experience mixes a more refined meal with a tour of the city’s iconic spots. All in a light and comfortable way without crowds. My mother was with us and it was her first cruise and she just loved it: she said this cruise was worth the entire trip.
This was by far the best experience I had while visiting New York. On this particular evening I just happened to be dining alone for the dinner cruise since my girlfriends weren't in town quite yet. I was the only patron on the boat dining alone, and I preach to you that it didn't feel that way for even one moment. The staff of the Bateaux went out of their way to make my experience truly one of a kind. I'm not sure if they spoke to one another to be extra attentive to my needs but I felt like a VIP movie star. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming including the other patrons on the cruise. Everyone was having such a wonderful time. The cruise was at full capacity and people are constantly up and out of their seats to experience the outside deck. I received the VIP treatment and got to experience the upper deck and captains quarters! The captain (pictured) was a true Gentleman's gentleman. The food was 5 star along with the drinks and the views were AMAZING😍🗽 This first time I ever saw the Statue of liberty and New York skyline was lit up on a 5 star cruise, drinking champagne and eating food to die for! The Butter cake is good enough alone to go back...🤗🤤 I even made a few new friends! Thank you to the Bateaux and it's truly exceptional staff for making this night so special for me. I will be back.
The best! We wanted to do something special & different for our anniversary while also celebrating my husband's health recovery from cancer. A trip to NYC worked out perfectly with our schedules. With our 2 daughters we were a party of 4. The glass roof boat was beautiful. Stunning views of the city and the Statue of Liberty. Overall the food was good, and we did pay extra for appetizers and cocktails because why not, it was time to celebrate :) We also paid extra for the group photo taken before departure by their photographer. When you're enjoying the views you sometimes forget to take a group photo so I'm glad we have one of the 4 of us together. We enjoyed the live music entertainment which made for a nice atmosphere. The service was top notch. If we left our food on the table to step outside & catch the views, they made sure to cover our plates to keep them warm. We also wanted to mention the boat/restaurant manager, Swan (pictured with my husband). Swan absolutely made certain our anniversary was special. We got to meet the Captain who also took very good care of us, he even brought us in to see the view from above. Views, atmosphere, food, service. Loved it. What a treat and worth it! (June 2023)
Delicious food perfect for intimate dates. The place was very easy to find, staff was very welcoming and gave very good service. The Mimosa kept flowing never stopped. Food was so delicious and good variety. Because it’s covered we were able to actually enjoy. It wasn’t cold but it was extremely windy if not for the indoor everything would’ve been flying.
I own a tour company in Rhode Island, and I have to tell you that this experience was outstanding from beginning to end. In fact, I didn't want it to end. I had the pleasure of taking the Bateaux Premier Plus Dinner Cruise on Friday evening, November 17th. Before the trip began, Jamal, the concierge was very communicative, and provided helfpful guidance regarding parking and what the evening would entail. Jamal continued his outstanding customer service throughout the entire evening. Bravo, Jamal! For the dinner menu, I chose the Italian sausage ravioli appetizer, the Atlantic Striped Bass as the main entree, and chocolate mousse dome for dessert - all were delicious and beautifully presented! My compliments to the chef. Jackie, my waitress, was very kind and provided excellent service. I thoroughly enjoyed the live musicians that were on board as well - great touch. They were broadway level talent. The view of the Manhattan skyline, and then the Statue of Liberty were absolutely amazing. I especially loved that as we approached the Statue of Liberty, the live musicians on board sang, "God Bless America." Everyone else I met on the staff - the captain of the boat, the maitre'd, the crew, and the photographer, were warm and friendly, and wanted us to enjoy ourselves. If you want an amazing nighttime experience in New York City, do this!! It was excellent.
I’ve been on 3 times now to the boozy brunch and all experiences were superb. The service, quality and experience were 100000000/10. We asked to pay for an upgraded window seat when getting on (we didnt book prior) and they put us on a waiting list and the manager followed up quickly with us to give it to us. I believe the main host’s name was Mel, such a sweetheart. Our server Thomas was also such a breath of fresh air. Today’s experience was a little different than the last 2 times I came in the best way. I wish I knew the MC’s name but she was fabulous, taking song requests and keeping people on the dancefloor!! It was such a great time. Not to mention the Mc was very attentive in telling us details about everything we passed from ellis island, to the statue of liberty’s original name. Such a wonderful time. I will be back and continue to do this annually.
Celebrating my 30th birthday aboard the Bateaux Dinner Cruise in the iconic backdrop of New York City was an experience beyond compare. With my future wife by my side, the evening unfolded into a magical journey through the heart of the city that never sleeps. From the moment we stepped aboard the luxurious vessel, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and charm. The sleek design of the boat combined with the breathtaking skyline views set the stage for an unforgettable evening. As we embarked on our tour around New York Harbor, we were treated to panoramic vistas of iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the shimmering city skyline. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the culinary experience. The gourmet dinner served onboard surpassed all expectations, with each dish meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. From the savory appetizers to the indulgent desserts, every bite was a delight for the senses. Paired with fine wines and attentive service, the dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. As we savored our meal and soaked in the sights, the live music provided the perfect soundtrack to our evening of celebration. The ambiance was romantic and enchanting, creating a magical atmosphere that will forever be etched in our memories. I cannot recommend the Bateaux Dinner Cruise enough for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in a night of luxury and romance in the heart of New York City. It's an experience that combines gourmet dining, stunning views, and unparalleled hospitality to create a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you, Bateaux, for making my 30th birthday celebration one for the books!
We had family visiting from overseas and decided to book the Signature Dinner Cruise. Having lived in New York for 15 years, I honestly wasn’t expecting anything special — but I was pleasantly surprised. With daylight savings in effect, the 6pm departure was perfect. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset on the water followed by stunning nighttime views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline. It was a really memorable experience. The food was a pleasant surprise too. The buffet offered a great mix of vegetarian dishes and protein options, and everything I tried was genuinely good. There were plenty of choices for non‑meat eaters, and the steak was excellent. The salads, jerk chicken, and salmon were all flavorful, and the desserts were fantastic, especially the brownie! Everyone in my family honestly didn’t come across a single dish we didn’t enjoy. I went in with low expectations, but this experience completely changed how I view CityExperiences. Would highly recommend!! I also want to give a special shoutout to our server, Antoinette, and the floor manager, Alex. They went out of their way to make the evening feel personal and welcoming, even taking the time to greet my family and thanking us for choosing this cruise. Every crew member we interacted with was fun, attentive, and genuinely focused on making the experience memorable.
Just had a wonderful cuisine dinner cruise experience.. had a great chat with crew Christian.. the dinner was delicious. Free water but other drink is extra payment.. I chose soft drink refillable.. won't regret it a great iterneary to wrap up trip in New York.. enjoy
Did this experience via groupon for my birthday. I booked less than 60 min before departure and was accomodated. Friendly staff, good food, good music. Loved seeing the views. I got aome great pics and had a blast.
We had an absolutely amazing time on the City Cruises Thanksgiving Day cruise! From the moment we boarded, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Goni, our waiter, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire cruise. His service truly elevated our experience. A special shoutout to Adrian, the Director of Food Service, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. He took the time to check in on us, and his genuine warmth really made our Thanksgiving celebration feel even more special. It was clear that Adrian and the entire team were dedicated to creating a memorable experience for every guest. Honestly, every person we interacted with, from the staff to the crew, was phenomenal. They made sure we felt cared for and ensured that every detail was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend Thanksgiving. Thank you to the City Cruises team for making this day so memorable!
To say this cruise was worth every penny is an understatement. You can board a boat and experience a cruise with a view almost anywhere, but what made this trip worthwhile was their STAFF! I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. EVERYONE here went above and beyond, making our experience a core memory for my husband and I. Bryan, our server, is so cheerful, happy, vibrant and kind. He’s helpful with food selections, attentive, and overall a heartwarming server who made our anniversary so memorable. Mike helped answer every question my husband had about the city. What a knowledgeable, charismatic guy!! And as for SWAN! What a gentleman. SO charitable!!! From greeting us at the door, to checking in on our dinner, to his overall unreasonable hospitality, this experience deserves beyond the stars we can give it! Nelsy came by to wish us a happy anniversary, Jamal was willing to accommodate himself to taking our photo, Robin (the cruise photographer) takes PHENOMENAL photos that are worth the SHOT! 😉 we came to see the ball drop for our anniversary, but this was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip to NYC. Bateaux New York felt like a something out of a movie. Truly, thank you all so much for such a magical night. You made us feel like we were the only ones on that boat. Until next time!💕
We went on the Bateaux last night for our anniversary & we were treated like royalty. The staff is absolutely amazing! Such friendly people. And the cruise ship is gorgeous. The cruise route was breathtaking. We saw the beautiful NYC skyline all lit up, went under the Brooklyn Bridge & got extremely close to the Statue of Liberty. I would definitely recommend going on this particular cruise ship. You will be glad you did. And if any of the staff ever reads this…..THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR A TRULY MAGICAL EVENING!!
We used them to book our visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The process was easy and our ticket, though timed, allowed us to go at an earlier time.👍. Security was thorough. easy and quick. Boarding was surprisingly quick given the amount of people. I’m not sure of the time schedules but all three times we queued we were able to board on the docked boat. The ride was very smooth and the views from the deck, though crowded, were great! All of the photos and video were shot onboard.
We are local couple and we just wanted to relive together to our dating memories. We had dinner curies before but this time we wanted to be more luxurious. There is couple website to book the curies, but the cheapest website didn't have the option to book the table. We wanted to have a window seat, so we paid extra for it. The trickle was the day because if you book too far or too soon the price were different. I ended up paid extra and expensive for the trip because I want everything to be smooth. The Service was good and I'm appreciative. We had crab & corn Chowder. then they had a paused for the second course. For the second course, my husband had Atlantic striped Bass and I has Osso Bucco. it was ok. For the third course. my husband had Basque 'Spanish Style' Cheesecake and I have Tres Leches that was not delicious at all. The experiences were good, they seem to focus on tourist customer, lol. But I'm okay. The night with my Husband is the most important think so as long as he is happy, I'm fine.
This was an absolutely amazing experience for a 1st time visit to NYC. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of the boat tour. Dinner was delicious with multiple entree options to choose from and the service was spot on. Live music and breathtaking views completed the whole experience. Highly recommended.
Booked a Sunset Cruise with this company and I mean it's really pretty self-explanatory and easy to get to and check in. Booked a sunset schooner Cruise, on the Adirondack which took us around the Bay to the Statue of Liberty. Was a great cruise with a stunning sunset over the Statue of Liberty. Great views and the crew was really helpful and friendly. Highly suggest booking one.
First time ever doing something like this! A special occasion was the reason to try it and it was stealer, amazing, incredible, truly unforgettable feelings and views from time of departure to back to the dock. The food and customer service was A1 and amazing! We loved ever minute. If you want to enjoy a view on the water; this is the place to do it. We’ve had multiple good outings on multiple observation decks in NYC and rooftops but this one was different and worth every penny! We can not wait to do it all over again. Booked through Tiqets application; easy and fast!
My partner took me on an evening dinner cruise to celebrate my birthday and what a fantastic experience it was. The service was second to none, the food was very good and a live band that try accommodate song requests. The views as you sail down the Hudson are stunning especially on the return journey at night and not to mention they take you up close to the statue of liberty. The amount of photo opportunities on this trip is countless! I really can't recommend it enough especially if your celebrating a special occasion. You generally get an hour between courses so your free to move around and enjoy the atmosphere, go out to the bow or stern of the ship or maybe enjoy a dance as the fantastic band perform and maybe your lucky enough they will perform on of your requests
Not cheap by any means, but absolutely phenomenal. Took this cruise for my girlfriend's birthday (taking advantage of the Romantic Dinner for 2 option and their Cyber Monday discount) and couldn't be more satisfied. The staff provided roses, a bottle of Jean-Louis Champagne, and 2 keepsake champagne flutes. Despite the cold and the rain, the experience was amazing. It provided breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and landmarks. Our waiter Joshua was friendly and attentive, the live band was a cool mix of holiday and modern tunes, and the food was exceptional. I had the duck pastrami, short rib, and butter cake, all 3 of which I highly recommend. Came hungry, left very happy. I will definitely return here one day for another trip.
Reason for the 5 🌟, the Service, The Food, and the Drinks was exceptional. The table setting was nice, it look a nice restaurant but the boat itself was nothing to be impress about, the boat entrance does. Its different from the rest of the cruise around that pier. Went for a Sunday Brunch and didn't like the fact that the dress code policy was not really enforced. The food is a buffet style some of the things were a bit cold but was very flavorful which was a plus plus. The have a variety of cold and hot things something for every diet I guess. The service was really good and that makes the difference for me. It's only 2hrs wish was more as we did had a great time. Love the drinks although some were a little strong, but they were good.
I had a nice time. The food was good, but some of the items were cold before I got to my seat. The restroom was clean but one stall had a busted door. The table and chair set up on the second level was cramped. We passed right in front of the statue of liberty which was awesome even for a cloudy day.
The company offers a three-hour dinner cruise on the Hudson, Upper New York Bay, and East River. The two rooms, separated by the dance floor and a small orchestra stand, comfortably sit 300 guests. There are four rows of tables; some guests (about a quarter) have to sit with their backs to the windows, so reserving a window table is a must. The tables are arranged comfortably with plenty of space between them; large windows and spacious deck (accessible at any time) offer gorgeous views. The crew is there when you need them. A competent band (already playing when one boards the ship) starts with instrumental standards, gradually moving on to vocal numbers. The program is well balanced, inoffensive, and aims to please anyone aged 60 and over. Disco dominates, but there are some contemporary numbers as well. Sound levels are reasonable - earplugs not needed; one can even have a conversation. The weakest part of the cruise is, unfortunately, the dinner. The food - as far as I can tell, it is not being prepared on premises; hot dishes are reheated. Though food looks nice on the plate, it is vastly overdone, and lacks any texture or taste. Booze might help - there is a full (cash) bar on the ship. Servers are cheery, courteous, and speak passable English. There is a dress code, but I’ve yet to see anyone wearing a formal evening dress (I’ve been on a cruise a few times entertaining out of town guests); one would blend in wearing collared shirt (with or without a tie), trousers, and dress shoes. Jacket is not required, but strongly recommended for a different reason – A/C is set to Arctic temperatures and is blowing at a gale force. The ship departs on the dot, one must be prompt! If you booked your cruise online (and who didn’t?), please allow extra time (2 to 20 minutes) to exchange reservations for the actual paper tickets at the ticket booth at Pier 61 parking garage. Proper ID required. The cruise is not a sightseeing tour – the landmarks are not announced (except for the Statue of Liberty), so take a guidebook or a knowledgeable native along with you!
In my opinion things should be better. Maybe I spoiled myself visiting other places but still… We were family, 3 persons and we didn’t received any single meal together. Also we purchased 1st class experience and we didn’t get our presents. Handling fees are extremely high, we thought that tip will be included in them but unpleasant surprise was that it was not. Just my point of view: almost $200 for handling fees is way too expensive for just a fees. Otherwise ship is really nice and cozy. Route is also unforgettable experience. Band was playing really nice music.
This was a really entertaining cruise. We were confused why we weren't seated at a window when the cruise was barely half full. Then when we and several other guests reseated ourselves, the wait staff was very rude and informed us that we should have "asked" to move our seats. No we didn't pay for a guaranteed window seat, but I assumed that if window seats were available after all the guaranteed people were seated, we would have that option. The food was marginally good, so don't go hoping for a 5 star cuisine. The best part of the cruise were the guests and the lovely views around the Hudson. I would recommend this cruise for anyone who wants to get water views of NYC, NJ, and the Statue of Liberty.
An Absolute great experience... You don't have to shell out more for the window view, since the exteriors are made of glass you can sit down almost anywhere in the ship and enjoy the view. Plus you have access to the deck of the ship (both front and back), better get your snaps taken at the deck before the sun sets! One star lost due to the meager amounts of food provided for the fixed dinner.
Took him for his birthday. We are form PA and spend the whole weekend there. He loved it. Two floors of different music. Idk how they arranged for people to get their food. We were last. The food was better than I thought it would be. The drinks were delicious. The captain pointed out the infamous statues and monuments while cruising in the harbor. Overall it was very good. I would recommend it at least once.
We did the Bateaux Sunset Dinner Cruise in New York, loved the experience! Great little 'romantic' band. I'd have given 5 ⭐s if the food was better... It's boat food. Only other possible complaint would be that the glass needs to be cleaned more often for best clarity. All in all, I recommend 😉.
This is for the Bateaux New York Premier Dinner Cruise I’ve done more than couple of cruises around the city. Private and general. This was pretty on par with all the other cruises. Not a bad thing. This one caters to a more the dinner vibe of course. Live jazz band is good background music. The dinner was pleasant Prix fixe selections Clam chowder 8/10 Short ribs 8.5/10 Chocolate cake 3.5/10 Cheese cake tasted better(no photo) Go when it’s good weather so you can hang on the outside portion of the boat, you know, for photos. Good luck and enjoy:)
Invited out for dinner on the Hudson, and the night couldn’t have been more perfect, with views and weather. The staff and entertainment did an amazing job. The tickets were very expensive but didn’t include the steak dinner, so we did have to pay extra if we wanted the steak, otherwise most of the menu items were all inclusive.
City Cruises is a fantastic way to see New York from the water. The views of the skyline, bridges, and the Statue of Liberty are unforgettable, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Cruises can get crowded, and food and drinks are a bit pricey, but the experience of being out on the water makes it worth it. It’s perfect for sightseeing, photos, and enjoying the city from a new perspective.
The experience was great and we got several really nice pictures. The food was good but it wasn’t very hot. Just kind of warm. The band did their best and left us laughing with their song choices. It was great way to spend our anniversary. Just keep in mind that you are paying for the pictures and sightseeing not the best food, although the food was good quality. Just need to be warm.
Great service..early admission onto boat for the Bottomless mimosa brunch cruise December 9, 2018. 5 stars Returned on 12-30-18 for the Jingle Bells cruise. It was ok until the coffee- first a stained cup and then one with a huge crack. The manager apologized and offered another cup, which I declined. Minutes later, the server decided to place another cup of coffee near me anyway. I did not drink it. Although I was once an avid lunch and brunch cruiser, as I was planning a February 1, 2019 dinner cruise. I have changed my mind. I will not support nor engage others in supporting Spirit of New York in the future. 3 stars
We had a dinner reservation at Bateaux last night. Overall was a great experience, the ambiance as great, the staff was amazing and very attentive from the guys outside to the gentleman at the front desk, the waiter and the photographer. I definitely will give them 10/10. Food wasn’t that good, we choosed ravioli for appetizer wich was ok, but then the main course wasn’t that tasty ( we had osso buca and sea bass), but l didn’t have any expectation for the food. What made me give them 3 starts were the extra payment they charge to sit close to the window and in fact the glass where we sat it was very blurry and you could easy tell that wasn’t from the cold bcs not everywhere was the same. Mostly of the tables had very clear window. That made me so upset. l would attach pictures so you can see how blurry was the view. Definitely do not pay extra for the seat next to the window.
The views were perfect. The boat was so great! The price is not at all worth it though as the food was terrible. The drinks were great. But the food... And I know the food is primarily the reason for the price of the entire thing, so this experience should be a third of what they are actually charging for it. My recommendation is to go out to eat beforehand and then do the boat with the intentions of drinking and taking in the views.
I would have given this five stars if it were not for one thing. The vocalist in the live entertainments mic volume was turned up so loud I felt like I was being screamed at the entire cruise. The food and wine selection was very good as was the service. The boat captain stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty for five minutes for us to take in the grandeur of the moment . This was an exceptional bucket list part of our tour of NYC on November 25, 2023.
Came here for a special celebration for our friends. Had the 3 course meal and got a few bottle of wines. My appetizer for the home made ravioli was good and my spanish basque cheesecake was good as well, though my seafood squid ink pasta was way overcooked, sadden. The servers were attentive and were friendly. The 3 hour experience on the boat, they were making U turns at the mid to lower manhattan, the view was nice at night. The live music tried their best, but audio system needs an upgrade. I would recommend if you are dating someone at the beginning, it’s kind of cute and the cool breeze and view on the deck is what you’re paying for.
The food was good. The drink prices were ridiculous and the drink itself was watered down! I signed a reciete for 19.50 and gave a cash tip. But for some reason my card was charged 24 dollars. The bathroom had absolutely no ventilation and smelled horrid. Leaving the ship they have warm cookie... that was nice of them...
Very disappointed that the boat did not leave the port and turned into “stationary dining” due to the weather. I received no prior information about this change—neither by email, text, nor on their website—even though I had contacted customer service beforehand and asked several questions, and the situation has been like this over two weeks. The boat itself was fine, the staff were wonderful, and the brunch was decent with free-flowing sparkling wine. However, I purchased a cruise, not a stationary dining experience overlooking the closed Chelsea Piers shutters. To their credit, they offered me the chance to try again another time for the full experience, and I will update my review after that. In the meantime, please be cautious if you are hoping to see NYC landmarks and have a romantic cruise—this may not be possible for the coming days or weeks if weather conditions continue.
My girlfriend and I were waiting for so long outside the pier to board the ship for the Valentine’s Day cruise. The instructions were not clear on how to get there, said the boarding time would be 7pm and departure at 7:30pm. We didnt board the ship until 8:15pm and it was the middle of February in New York. Once we got on it was terrible from there. There was only one bar area, long line for drinks. Bartenders didn’t know how to make drinks or took days to make them. It took them 20 minutes for them to find a bottle opener for my wine. We got the wrong dessert and food took extremely long to get; while other people that paid extra failed to receive food. The only good part about the experience was the people and the DJ. music was great and seeing the people dance with the most of the crap night was pleasing to see. overall 2/10 experience. I’ll never do this again. Waste of money. You cannot convince me otherwise. I honestly am thinking about demanding a refund for what I paid for.
Did the night cruise with buffet and dj music. I really tried to have a good time but it not good from beginning to end. Someone had thier wedding reception onboard, complete with full wedding attire and cake cutting. Between them and the group of 40 somethings celebrating thier bday with tiaras and sashes, I felt like I was crashing someone else's private event. Food was good in theory, but poorly executed (cold, dry, or not available). I think the host and our server could tell i was disappointed. But they did nothing to improve the situation or empathize until it was time to pay and tip. Then it was complimentary cake (that I couldn't eat due to allergy I had already shared) and stem roses for me and my mom (a strange throw for sure). It was all awkward and the wrong attention. Music was good, but not a good mix at all. I think the first 6 plays were in Spanish. It was a while before they played anything my mom had ever even heard. The event parties controlled the room. I paid extra for window table for my size party (two), but was sat at a set of 3 2-tops for 6, while the other parties of two had 2-tops. They should have removed a table to give us a proper setting. I including the value of seeing the sights from the ship, I would pay maybe $70/person for the tour for the classic of food, service, and atmosphere. Unfortunately, i paid about 3x that.
