Excellent place to enjoy with your male friends!
Casual, unpretentious bar. The staff is always friendly and great guys working the coat check, which is much faster than other bars in NYC. And yes, pay the two dollars for coat check because you'll look foolish wearing a parka in here. Started charging ten dollar cover on Saturdays which is fine. Go during the week if you don't want to pay for a cover. Check online for the theme nights, espexially if you are visiting or unfamiliar with the bar. The rooftop area is great especially on Sundays with nice weather. The music is always on point and one of the best for the bars in NYC.
There's a big dancefloor, which is nice after you're done upstairs. Drinks are good and cheap. Literally my favorite bar.
Why men need women I never thought I'd say this, but men really do need women. For anyone who disagrees, spending just one night at the Eagle should immediately disabuse them of any such notions to the contrary. This May, I was - what I initially thought - lucky enough to spend one night within the confines of this establishment. We arrived at about 10pm, late by most standards, to find the venue rather deserted - except for the bears wearing nothing but jockstraps wandering around the second floor. This, perhaps, was our first warning sign. Unperturbed, however, we proceeded to purchase cocktails - spicy margs of course - before settling into a corner to watch the evenings events unfold. The venue itself began to fill up from around 11pm, and was positively overflowing with men from 12pm. Shirts made a disappearance from midnight. Dear reader, as I’m sure you are already aware, without the presence of women to uphold the morals and norms of our society, men quickly revert to a more animalistic state. For straight men, this tends to involve hitting things, being smelly, or searching for a woman with whom to found the next generation. But for gay men, for whom procreation is impossible, this leans more towards the habit of spraying their future generations up the walls or onto any unsuspecting individual that just so happens to be nearby. It was 1am when I turned to my friend on my he dance floor - surrounded by a sea of sweaty, testosterone-covered, gyrating white bodies, and remarked: ‘Oh my gawd! - picking up the local lingo obvs - There are no women!’ We both froze, the gravity of what this meant suddenly dawning on us. Looking to my left, I saw muscle gays fondling each other, switching to my right, i spotted bears doing much the same, with some Lycra-clad bicycle gays - clearly didn’t get the shirtless memo - up to no good behind them. Peering through the near impenetrable wall of sweaty bodies, I saw a man on his knees doing something to another man that I shall not defile present company’s ears by describing in a public forum. Dear reader, a night at this establishment is a must at least once in your life - but maybe just once. And, as I now always say, attend for the vibes - not because you want to find someone. On my trip, I made the mistake of doing the latter, which meant I only met one man worth talking to. ‘Oh my gawd, you’re from London, I love The Times newspaper,’ he gurgled between tequila shots. This immediately prompted an in-depth discussion from myself about the future chances of Nicola Sturgeon in the next general election, and whether the reign of the SNP was at an end. Let’s just say, his love of The Times may now be tested.
Tell the 2nd floor DJ that he sometimes plays the music WAY TOO LOUD. we would have more fun if the music didn't destroy our ears. otherwise, the eagle is awesome. great, hot crowd, great music.
I had a wonderful time at the eagles bar. It was my first time there but I enjoyed my self.
Probably best night club experience ever. Javier at the coat check explained the vibe of the club, above and beyond. Definitely will come back!!!
I had fun, one of the DJs I liked was playing so me and my friends danced all night. Only thing I didn’t like was that it’s cash only, the entire bar… it’s 2024 not 1990.
From the moment I walked into this establishment, I was instantly mesmorized by the music. Wild and crazy. Hedonistic and forbidden I could let myself go. Ten minutes after I arrived, I met my future husband. If i ever catch a break from dinners, doing dishes and making beds ... i would like to go back there one day
Great night out on our visit to NYC.
Great bar... good drinks... great music... fun environment. Had several guys buy me a few drinks. The Roof-top was AWESOME... it's one of those places you want to be... so bottom line: If you have a fondness for something a little rough and raw, then this is the place for you... who knows who you might run into....
Very friendly place specially the bartender Jake he made me feel so welcome and it was my first time going to gay club , the second floor so fun late at night, love the dance floor / dj .
I was here and event with friends. The bar can tend to be very crowded, but very fun. Excellent music, dancing and beautiful People. It's always great to see a community support and establishment like this. Bears, Daddies, Muscles abound. The staff was on point and drinks well-made. Definitely worth a visit if you're into this sort of thing.
The best bar in Manhattan, periodt. Take a pic of your ticket.
Came here for the first time last night during my trip to New York. Staff at cloakroom patiently answered all my questions, with only a slight tone of condescension, but overall very friendly and helpful. Despite the crowds, very short queues at the bar. Good atmosphere, I had a great time and I went again today. Reminds me a bit of Berlin. Loved the rooftop terrace.
Very good and loud music here that’s hard to find in other gay bars around NYC. Reasonable pricing and my staying here was very chill, employees were nice. I felt very welcome here unlike my FIP experience.
Visiting from Los Angeles, I can safely say Eagle is one of the best run gay bars I’ve been to. Security was fantastic, coat check was organized, ATMs were spread throughout the venue, and the drinks were strong. Will absolutely return next time I’m in NYC
A great bar with themed nights. Beware of sexy antics which can happen anytime in any corner. Don't expect to head to eagle and keep your hands to yourself. It's a fun night with different drink promos on different nights. In the summer it also has a great roof deck to enjoy on their sunday beer blast afternoon. Still a great venue, especially with the new larger dancefloor, they would benefit from taking card payments though!
Guy at coat check were the friendliest ever. Very reasonable prices for drinks. Guests - very eager to know each other. Had the best time ever. Thank you The Eagle NYC!
Attended for the first time on 13th July Had a brilliant time staff were amazing no issues getting served, spent a lot of time on the room terrace an excellent place. Also not as expensive as soon places we attend Keep up the good work Visitors from the UK
I had a blast here.... Love my Gay Family .Great Drink's, Great music, great patio to smoke upstairs..
I love this place. I lost my wallet there on a Friday. They had it safe and sound with the $112.00 bucks in cash I still had in it when I came back on the following night. That’s amazing. Props to the crew. It’s stressful losing your IID/ccds. Thanks Eagle 😘
Excellent venue with themed nights so plan ahead is advised if you dont wanna be dissappear
A leather bar in its truest form. This place will involk the deepest tom of finla#@ vibe. With 3 levels and a huge dance floor bars tucked in almost every corner! Passages and side rooms to hang out in or cross paths with that sexy stranger you have been playing eye tag with all night. Check the calendar there is always great events, DJ's, and atmosphere. But don't get it twisted this is not the spot to bring in your best girlfriend for a brunch date. As there will be times where it can whip up to a bacchanal fever dream. There is a cage for "coat" check or other belongings should the mood strike you to get in gear. All are welcome. But all in all this is deff an experience to have. Cash in hand as the atm fee can be crazy in nyc. And guard ur stuff! Again it's nyc! And if it's a busy night it will be wall to wall humans. But explore, hang out, play a game of pool, make the rounds, Drink and dance dance dance to your heart's content! Hope to see you there!
Highly recommend The Eagle NYC! We went on our last night in NY and so wish we would have gone sooner. It was jock strap Wednesday and of course being the tourists, we weren't prepared. Didn't stop us from having a good time though. It was so packed for a weeknight, easily would have been 150 guys there! On our list for when we go back to NY 😊
The music? On point. The crowd? Delicious. And the staff? Sweethearts with just the right edge—made the whole night feel extra special. Can’t wait to be back for more. 😘✨
I’d like to thank staff for being so kind and caring in a setting where staff typically are not, especially with hundreds of men running around shirtless. It’s a fun time, but it’s cash only for the cover and drinks and coatcheck so be prepared to bring cash
Always a great time when I go... love ending the night here 😆
I had lot fun going. Wish there was a guy came up and talk to me but I guess they could tell I was a tourist. Tho its ok still had fun and def love to go back.
Best eagle I’ve been to in a long time. With I could use card and not cash!
I went to this location for the first time, and I had an amazing time The staff was very respectful, even down to security. this location is very big on safety they provide the necessary tools you need to be safe the music was good very big and spacious, and everyone that was having a good time was very respectful to one another. I would highly recommend going.and Bring a friend. And another friend and another friend. if I can add more stars, I would.
At first I was nervous about visiting the eagle in NYC. There are some harsh reviews here. I first visited on Thursday 3/23. The coat check staff were amazing. The bartenders were all friendly. I felt like the drink prices were reasonable. About $5 more than what I pay at the eagle in providence but it’s NYC. I did see security point their flashlight at someone once. But people need to be respectful of others. You can’t block access to others for your “fun.” Went back Saturday the 25th, and had an amazing experience. The guys at coat check asked my partner their pup name, which was cute. The bartenders were polite and the service was fast. I cannot wait to return!
Im def a fan. No photos cause I was in the moment. Had a great time with friends and a lot to see. If youre bashful or never been to a leather bar maybe it isn't for you. Or maybe it is?
This past Sunday I lost my sunglasses and the awesome security team found it, they treated me so well a 10/10 service, I really recommend going to this club if you want to have a great time with friends.
Fun gay bar. No need to bring your best girlfriend. Take her to "Sip and Guzzle" to meet her Future husband 🤣
Came in on a busy night and ended up having one of the best experiences I’ve had at the Eagle. Jake was behind the bar and he was outstanding…calm, confident, and genuinely attentive even with a packed room. He has incredible tattoos, so you notice him right away, and he also happens to be very hot, which doesn’t hurt. But what really stood out was how welcoming and grounded he was and how effortlessly he kept everything moving. Drinks were fast, well made, and the whole night just flowed better because of him. The Eagle clearly knows how to pick their bartenders, and it’s staff like that that keeps me coming back.
I been going to the eagles 🦅 for years. But what I can say is that the security guards are fantastic! Always on point, in case something happens at the bar. Best music 🎶 ever!!!!!!!
Staff & Security Are AMAZING… I Lost My Cell Phone and within a few minutes the Eagle Security Located My Cellular phone & They We Absolutely Professional. Best Security Staff I Have Ever Seem & I’m with the U.S. Army.
Had a fantastic time last night. Great music and plenty of room to get around. I lost my phone at one point and the staff found it! So grateful… the bartenders and staff were super nice. Looking forward to next time!
If you're on the fence about going to Eagle, well just hop off already and get your bum over there. I finally did and realized I had been missing out all this time. This fantastically grungy place is fueled by a mix of thumping beats, leather harnesses, and shirtless men. Even at its busiest, the vibe stays open, fun, and surprisingly well organized. The Wednesday before thanksgiving is apparently known for being the busiest night at the Eagle, and this year's record crowd should have sunk the whole operation, but the staff kept the entire production going smoothly like it was rehearsed. The Eagle's security team deserves direct credit. They managed an impossibly massive crowd without a hitch. Even with thousands trying to get in, the kilometric entrance line and the coat check line that stretched to the roof moved smoothly and never descended into chaos. Dan in particular handled a near-impossible task: recovering my smartwatch from a crowd so packed I had assumed it was gone for good. He somehow retrieved it, safeguarded it, and returned it to me with the utmost professionalism. Music is solid. The vibe is leather and musk. The inclusivity is not just a tag line but a daily practice. This bar deserves every positive review on this app. Ignore the haters. Peace!
Nice place . Lots of fun, cool guys . But one small red bull for $9 ???? I’m not crying lol but I think it’s a little bit overpriced.
I was here with my good friends Garré, Eddy and Daglas. When i say these fellas are GAY i aint underestemating, PERIOD. You wouldnt belive everything these guys have done, plus, i cant write it all here if i dont want to become banned. But this night here was perfect and ended in a perfect way (9some). Perfect place to find really nice guys, good staff and great service. I would definitely recommend, and I think ma friends would aswell, hahahhhha. Stay safe queens. PURRR
I’ve gone to the eagle for years at this point but tonight was something special. My wallet and AirPods fell out of my bag in the crowd and the staff dropped everything to help me locate them. I want to extend my sincere thank you to the security staff with a special shout out to Dan and Luis for assisting in retrieving my items, they really turned a quite unfortunate situation into a fairytale ending and I’m forever grateful for their support and help. If you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, let the staff know and they will do everything they can to help you retrieve what’s missing. Thank you again for your efforts, it really meant a lot to me! The eagle has always been great, but tonight really proved how much the staff cares about its patrons and I can’t thank you enough for turning my night around! All my best, see you soon!!
Always a fun night dancing at the Eagle NYC. These spaces are becoming fewer and far between and have never been more important. Had so much fun I lost my glasses, came back the next day and turns out security holds any items they've found. Thanks Eagle security team for reuniting me with my glasses!
A true institution of the NYC leather scene, The Eagle is an iconic bar that has evolved over time to offer something for everyone. While it maintains its classic, dark, and cruisy atmosphere—a nod to its leather bar roots—it’s also a fantastic place to dance, hang out with friends, or simply grab a drink and see what happens. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, making it a reliable destination whether you’re a regular or a first-timer.
We went on a Sunday. Roof top was fun, had a chat with some guys and got in the mood for later. It became very cruisy at the bar with a nice mix of people. Was pretty full and so much fun. Also the dance floor was nice.
I visited this place three nights in a row, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and each night was an incredible experience. Honestly, some of the negative reviews feel like pure hate, because this is hands down one of the best bars in the world. The bartenders are all amazing, kind, and professional. I deeply appreciate everyone working here for creating such a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you for everything you do! 😊
Food here is actually quite good for bar food. Love this bar, just wish it was a little less Alegria type circuit and more house/techno.
Fun place! Decor is great! People are really friendly! Action goes on upstairs in the corner of the bar however the bouncer comes over occasionally to stop it. Pretty annoying as it’s not the norm you’d expect from other Eagle bars around the world.
Great crowd and energy. People are all very social and friendly. Atmosphere is great outdoor spaces are great too. Only complaint is when I asked m for a water near the end of the night the bartender refused & ignored anything that was not alcohol... still best gay bar in nyc
Love Eagle NYC, & honestly it's been a few years since I've visited. I recently attended the DILF party and it was awesome! Great music, tons of guys & very mixed crowd, almost forgot COVID is still a thing. The new dance floor they added is amazing! Only issue is the cash only bar at an underwear party. My friend lost money & I'm sure many people do, hard to really stash your cash if you're only wearing underwear.
This is one of the few remaining hotspots left in New York. Always an interesting, diverse crowd with superb, eclectic music. Weekends are packed with the rooftop being a favorite, especially during the summer. The extended beer blast on Sunday is provocative & fun! The bartenders definitely help to make the night a better experience.
Great bartenders (of course) loved the location , so close to Westside park/ Hudson River. Really enjoyed it on Sunday/ we went on sat night and it was way full. If you like it leather then this is the place to explore, no attitude and lots to see(and drink)
New York City's only leather bar, so do you have a choice? It's pretty good. Two floors and a roof deck, a pool table, discreet lighting. I'd like better music -- leather bars are usually on the cutting edge, rather than trailing behind -- and the porn monitors are obnoxious, like the dudes there won't provide enough interest. But you have no alternative, and after a couple beers you'll have fun.
One of my favorite bars in the city. The only leather bar left. Great staff and atmosphere. Sadly the new dance floor and the door cover has changed the clientele but at least it creates more space.
I’m not gay but I did have the best time over a short weekend w work just to have some fun! Great drinks and good dance floor(s). Great idea w the elevator being a shop! It’s a bit rough atmosphere, but why not! Love it! Hope to visit again.. btw. I was here 2020 before the shut downs.
As a longtime Eagle patron, I have to say hats off to the improvements. The new bar is great for having conversations at an acceptable volume, and the new disco / house music supersedes the old circuit music by a mile. Four stars only because the bathrooms still smell like a litter box.
Always a fun bar. We went there with friends from Seattle. We suggest going early on a Sunday, before 9pm when they start to charge a cover. The crowd shows up early on Sundays. Cash only place but they have ATMs... A fun crowd. There is dancing and plenty of space to socialize.
Atmosphere and vibes were good! Friendly door people and descent drinks. A little on the pricey side: $25 cover and $12 for well but that was during the weekend. They have a heated patio and nice dance area that opened up later in the evening.
There's lots to love about The Eagle. It's a sex-positive, kink-friendy space with a dance floor, a cute rooftop, and a level in between where you can find a dark corner if that's what you're looking for. Each story includes a bar area, so you don't typically have to wait long for a drink. The staff—from bartenders to bouncers to the coat-check crew—is generally friendly. Ditto the clientele. The Eagle draws guys of various ages, races, nationalities, body types, and backgrounds. The mix helps it from feeling sceney, despite its purported identity as a leather bar. (There's definitely a leather/BDSM element, as the in-house kiosk selling harnesses and other gear attests, but as someone *not* into leather, I've never felt unwelcome or left out.) The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the cover. The Eagle was (mostly? always?) free pre-pandemic, so the $20-$25 charge on certain nights is tough to take. On top of $4 coat check and not-cheap drinks, I worry about price being a barrier for people who don't have much money to spare. Thankfully, the crowd hasn't homogenized into a wealth club, at least not yet, and the free entry before 9pm on Sundays is a saving grace.
This is one of the best gay bars in the world. Unfortunately, after paying $25+ cover and three $15 cocktails, one bartender refused to give me water (only bottled water for $5). However, two other bartenders gave me water. Unclear management’s policy or the advantage of having a bunch of dehydrated patrons on premises.
Taking a star away, not because of the staff, but the cut throat, overdramatic Hells Kitchen 20-30yo Queens. Otherwise amazing place to get laid. @BootedPigBro on X and Tele
Was having a great night until my wallet and cellphone were stolen. Happened to another friend in my group as well within minutes. Please be careful!
This place is quite amazing, well to some extent it is...the music is absolutely phenomenal and the people are very eclectic! Now the cons, the staff for the most part were not rude or anything but were extremely arrogant...When I was about to leave, I was trying to thank the staff for the great music, but in a very condescending and quite frankly arrogant tone of voice, the staff simply stated "ok, thanks". How very unwelcoming to folks who have come here for the first time....
The bartenders were rude and unprofessional. Wouldn't let me get a glass a water but couple did, one threw a tantrum for asking glass of water, and not one would make my mojito, Moscow Mule. They also won't give you a refill on your spilled drinks which happens. The reason why didn't lower had a hot time. In the future perhaps I won't buy drinks just dance and ask for water and stick with Shirley Temples. Because somehow I'm a weirdo.
The place is quiet isolated. There were lots of old people. Luckily that night I got the cutest guy in the bar. And he got a big one so I really had a mouthful and a handful night🤣🤣.. this place if you are discreet as it is far from other bars… I would go back to this place whenever im in new york. This bar is better than toronto one which is quiet. If you come here you would surely enjoy.
Go during non-peak hours! Saturday night entry sold well over capacity, by 1am it takes >10min just to squeeze from one side of the first floor to the other. No room to stand anywhere without being pushed into, let alone dance. Wouldn’t be a big deal if I hadn’t just paid $25 to get in
This is a nice enough place but on a Saturday, no thanks! $25 cover, $4 coat check, $10 drink, $2 tip. That is $40+ just to get in and start the night. There is nothing appealing about that at all. It isn’t exactly inclusive either as only well off people can afford it, so you’re going to spend your night surrounded by people who are all pretty much the same and pretty wealthy. Nor is it good value for money because nothing special happens inside. Expensive and a massive hike in cover compared to pre COVID. Got to feel ripped off. No thanks :/
Nice bar, good drinks, staff is nice enough. However, why would you throw a jockstrap party and then have security wandering around with a flashlight policing people back into whatever Victorian chaste norms you expect? Underwear parties at gay bars with a "back room" of some sort are a staple of NYC queer nightlife, to try and throw one of these events without such accommodations is akin to handing someone a slice of pie and telling them they can't actually eat it. If I wanted to stand around in my underwear drinking and listening to music, I could save myself a lot of money and do it at home without this ridiculous idea of, "Come to our bar and almost have a good time but actually were just going to blue ball all of our patrons." I would unfortunately have to say I will not be returning, in lieu of other venues that actually recognise what they're getting themselves into when tossing a large group of scantily clad queer males into a darkened space and adding alcohol.
Queer NYC nightlife is getting worse unfortunately. It needs a miracle. I went to Eagle NYC on a Friday because one of my favorite DJs was playing. Friends and I went to the bar to get a drink, and my friend mistakenly ordered a whiskey soda, instead of a whiskey cola. We didn't even leave the bar when I realized so I nicely asked the same bartender if he wouldn't mind making me the correct drink. He blatantly said no. So I left the drink with him at the bar, and he immediately threw it away and walked away. Later on, I was making out with a friend and Security tapped me on the shoulder and told me "not here". When I asked where then, he said "not here!". All it takes is one bad experience, and this was it for me. Never going back ✌🏾
The staff is top notch. Friendly, fun. But a $3 ATM fee is not. Charging people a premium to spend more money at your bar is greedy. Especially after a $25 cover.
Visited Eagle with my gay best friend all the way from Houston, Tx and honestly, was a disappointment. My friend and I always go to gay bars together and as a woman, no one has ever had a problem with me being at a gay bar. We always have a good time together and even with other people. I’ve never had a gay man come up to me to tell me that I shouldn’t be at a gay bar until December 31st, 2023. Mind you, I was not the only woman in Eagle that night. I was having a great time and for him to ruin it was not a good moment to the point where I felt so uncomfortable and I had to leave. The atmosphere truly was something else and it wasn’t a great one either. To the person who said those nasty words to me, thank you for ruining my New Year’s Eve but seriously, do better as an older person and mind your business. The staff however, were kind and to the security guy in the front, muchas gracias por todo! I was so excited to spend my New Year’s Eve there but sadly, that got ruined.
When I got there, I was so excited. I have been wanting to check this place out for the longest time. I walked in with my head high. When I entered, the music was sounding great, but it was almost like no one was listening. I am serious. No one was paying attention. It was just a bunch of dudes standing around saying nothing and being by themselves-which in fairness is most gay clubs in 2023. Hardly anyone was dancing, just standing around-most without any rhythm. Just bodies. It was so gay and yet not gay at all. I was afraid to look at someone let alone go up to someone and start a conversation. Everyone stood there and swayed lightly with the sound. No gay connections, no grinding---you might as well have women come and make it straight. Like you'd see some dudes in full gear standing alone for over an hour when there is a sea of guys.
I've been going to the Eagle for almost 20 years. The Eagle USED TO BE a fun cruisy bar, but since they opened the dance floor, it has become just another overpriced Hell's Kitchen club. Security is rude - they walk through the corners with flashlights shouting at people to move. The vibe used to be cruisy and sexy, but now you get yelled at if you appear to be having too much fun. It's a buzz kill. The cover charges and drink prices are insane - it's a divey venue but they charge like they're a swank rooftop club. Sunday beer blast is the exception with no cover and $4 draft beers. It's great especially in the summer. The music in general can be hit or miss depending on the DJ, but the bartenders are generally nice and efficient.
This is a great space and I love the atmosphere but my last visit the bartender was so rude. I'm an advocate for gay bars where we're made to feel welcome and I'm no stranger to Eagle bars. We want to keep our gay friendly -- especially gay leather -- spaces. Customers will respect your space and your bar a lot more if the bar equally treats the customers with respect. A bartender who stands at one end of the bar gabbing with his friends and acts like customers are annoying him when they order drinks is not customer friendly nor a good business model. Don't become your own demise -- step up.
Im 70 yrs old; door demanded physical ID, though I offered a CDL in Apple Wallet "need to see your birthday..." Really? You think Im underage maybe 🤣? It was like a morgue Mon nite too; not a single sound inside.... wow.
Last Sunday, I paid twenty dollars just to walk into Eagle NYC. The doorman greeted me with unnecessary rudeness, dismissing me simply because I was clueless about the occasion, and looked a little distracted for that night’s theme. The doorman’s bad attitude set the tone before I even made it upstairs. On the second floor, the scene was a raw marketplace of flesh, shirtless men circling restlessly in search of sex. That’s nothing new at that venue, but I wasn't expecting a meat market on a Sunday night. I wanted to enjoy the evening calmly, maybe have a drink, have a conversation, but that wasn’t the rhythm the bar was offering. I could see myself going back for a social leather-themed event only. I have my own gear and I’m familiar with some faces. But beyond that, the dynamic of relentless pursuit isn’t for me. The night before, though, was a different story. My time at Ty’s was extraordinary. The atmosphere was social, the crowd was approachable, and I felt entirely at ease. Ty’s reminded me that a bar can still be about connection beyond sex. Given the rapid speed of gentrification in Chelsea, I give NYC Eagle five more years before it ceases operations. That’s why they are milking the cow as much as they can with the high charges.
They’ll loose your jacket. Went there last night and waited in a 30 minute line just to check my jacket. Kept the ticket till the end of the night. Gave the ticket to the attendant but they had given my jacket to someone else. They told me to wait till the end to see if it was somewhere, which it was no where to be found. They made no offer to replace it. I wear a L they gave me someone else’s unchecked S jacket so I could get home in the middle of the winter. They take no responsibility for their actions of not properly taking care of your property. Even when a nice worker there tried to help me the Manager Oscar pretty much just shooed me away. And it was my birthday on top of it. Really terrible way to treat customers.
Been meaning to check this place out for ages and finally did. Only the ground floor was open which is fine as it’s a weekday. The overall vibe was more creepy as opposed to cruisey. Constantly felt like I was about to get pickpocketed or have my drink spiked.
I would give this place 5 stars but the first floor dance floor has strobe lighting and lighting in general that’s too strong. Reduce the lighting and this place would be the best gay venue to go to
Im listing the places I’ll visit again in my next trip to NYC i came up to this place and honestly I couldn’t ignore what had happened to me back in 2016 when the racist bouncer “white chubby and bearded” had to search me from head to toe and even had the audacity to tell me to”move around” to check me from behind all that ladies and gentlemen because I have a saudi passport with the traditional clothing as the the passport picture!! NOT TO MENTION he grabbed my passport and was checking through pages like i was in the airport!! he let all my friends pass!! I was so angry embarrassed iv never seen anyone being searched like that for a bar! i was drunk so i ignored it but never forget it!! And we literally didn’t stay for even 5 minutes, So yeah never again
Bartender gave me a drink with no alcohol and lied to me about it, still took my money. Monday night, such a scam. Stay away this place is trash off the weekend.
Barman charged me $5 for a glass of water. I said "5 bucks for tap water?" He said "welcome to New York!". Well... No tip and no more orders after that. Admission costs $25 and coat check $4. Long lines - be patient. Doorman was so rude while I was waiting my taxi, asking us unpolitely to wait inside - I argumented I couldn't because there was no internet signal there. To avoid problems, I left the premises and waited in the pouring rain... For the owner: please train your employees to be more gentle with your clients.
Fun bar with great music but the bartenders are consistently so rude, and it’s criminal that they do not provide any free water. Charging a massive cover and then also forcing customers to pay $5 for a wasteful plastic water bottle is the epitome of greed. I’ve never been to a bar anywhere in the world that didn’t give out free water.
Was very disappointed. We both paid $25 cash cover. Went in and it was very crowded. Not in a fun way. In the way it's hard to walk through sometimes and everyone is just standing around. Barely anyone was in gear. Nothing at all happening inside. Some people playing pool, and a basic dj. Margarita from the cash only bar was okay. Spent maybe 20min here before leaving. Out of all things in nyc, this was the most not worth the money thing. Would have been much better off going to a regular gay bar.
Considering theres never a clean bathroom, or any surface, the least they could do is not charge $5 for ice water. Lol
I went last night and never ever again , I will be really objective . Learn how to manage a bar, because it's really chaotic how you manage a "cruising bar", they had only one floor open last night , so this is not a problem at all , but when you put a bar completely in the dark and you can't see absolutely nothing they are a problem, 3 poor spotlight reds at the bar and some lights at the clockroom , the rest of the bar absolutely no light at all. The barman who don't know what to do with his body who walk around, It's very, very annoying, and who talk to himself , it will be better he talk to the customers than talk to himself. The price of the drinks are not displayed anywhere, so apart from if I didn't see because it was so dark, but I did look though, another lesson to learn maybe? displayed the price list of your drinks, to know what the customer is going to pay, same at the cloakroom no price displayed, apart from tips Then the "cash only" is a bit limited in 2023, don't you think??? the COVID did not teach you anything ?
I would be very honest if I said I felt beyond horrible , we donde went cuz we have a plan we went cuz we were looking a place to dance and the guy in my hotel told us about the place . We arrive front door guy was very nice but the atmosphere was very weird , and I feel insecure, then we went to buy drinks and I could say with my heart I never feel so disappointed of being gay and Latin , the guy that go take my order was racist and he didn’t like us there , he literally said : why you’re here ! . I understand that maybe we weren’t in the dress code, but we were wearing pants shirt very casual , I don’t know if he wanted us to be naked ?. Then I asked for a soda , I don’t knew what they sell ? So I ask what kind of soda you guys have , he reply this is America so we have everything. It was rude it was very disappointing and at some point I felt some Kind of humiliation. We stay there for 20 minutes , and we just left , there’s not security there so we can see how the people were touching each other and try to steal from them , I don’t know if the place have any knowledge about it but it happens so I just would like to say IF YOURE DESPERATE FO THERE . I try to speak with someone about my experience but no one was able to pick the phone and said a word. Which means the support and “gay friendly” environment it’s just an excuse to make money and allow thiefs
Hispanic guard working the front (checking IDs) is way too rude. Wasn’t the first or second time he was rude…just sucks that your vibe is ruined by him before even entering the club.
I went there once and my experience was very negative. The service was awful. The bartends were very rude (I mean VERY), the older bartender at the second floor was the worst. The drinks ? There isn’t any cocktails. You have to kind build your own. I ordered a mix of gin and redbull. Kinda disappointing. They charged 25 dollars at the entrance. And if you want to store your coat is more 4 dollars per person. I stayed there for about 2 hours then left. Not coming back.
Bad serivee bad serice I was just went with my best friend and the security guard was really bad attention. It’s a bad place Bad welcome to the people nev we come back
Terrible experience - Rude bartender ruined the night. I’ve never encountered someone so bitter, disrespectful, and utterly devoid of basic courtesy as the bartender at this place. It’s clear that this person lacks even a shred of kindness or decency, making it unfortunate that they are in a job that requires interaction with people. Honestly, being the bartender of a low-grade establishment like this seems to be the absolute peak of what they’ll achieve in life – and even that is a stretch. The negativity and incompetence from this individual were palpable, and it’s clear they’re stuck in a miserable cycle of unhappiness. It’s a shame to see someone so consumed by their own personal failures that they feel the need to take it out on customers. If you value your evening and want to avoid being subjected to such a low level of service and decency, I’d recommend staying far away from this place.
I’m here, Thursday, before pride weekend…$30 cover..it’s emptier than ever. I hope this is a learning lesson for your greed. Like, usual $25 wasn’t enough?! Not everyone can afford to pay $30 for a Thursday night or wants to.
Had given my shirt at coat check, came back later on at night to find the staff had lost it. Had to leave on a cold night with no shirt and no compensation, pretty much was given the oh well treatment, would not recommend doing coat check there.
worst gay bar i’ve been to in my life. $25 to enter and that doesn’t even get you a coat check. $4 to put your coat away all for a rude security guard to shine his torch in your face and tell you you’re not allowed to suck someone off. in a sex club! i then tried to leave and was told there isn’t a separate collection queue for the coat check, so had to wait 15 minutes before i could get out. that’s what $29 gets you!
Boooooo the bartender on the third floor sucked, he refused to serve us tap water after we bought 5 total drinks and tipped him at least 12 dollars. He called us names and was generally aggresive in a way that makes me never want to come back here. Bad job hiring him. You all suck for making that decision. He was shirtless and gross
This is an unsafe venue. A patron randomly approached me on Saturday November 15, 2025, and wrenched the back of my neck. I shook him off and elbowed his breast plate. I looked around and there were no security staff anywhere. It will be a long time before I feel safe going to the Eagle NYC again. Keep your wits about you, New York. Evil stalks these streets. Update 11/18/25: A report has now been filed with the NYPD.
Free before 9pm, but they will suddenly take their damn time to ID people when it's almost 9pm, so if you're here by 8:50pm the line will SuDdEnLy take extra long to have their ID checked, and they will charge you cover, even on an empty night. Total BS. Very rude staff, elongates the wait time just to charge patrons 😮💨😤😡😞 I'm not paying a cover at 9pm on the dot because you can't scan IDs or manage the queue properly. Bartenders will not give you free water even if you have ordered several drinks from the same bartender (and tipped generously) 😢 Cash only bar and cover. Additional coat check charge.
