The #1 place for ramen 🏅 The ramen had an incredible depth of flavor but at the same time felt surprisingly light, so it didn't leave that heavy feeling you sometimes get after a big bowl. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly balanced, and the broth was so good I honestly didn't want it to end. The service was great, friendly and welcoming. If I had more days in New York, I would definitely come back again and again just for another bowl. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good ramen!
Matthew was so friendly! Great service. Beautiful ramen presentation. Really yummy. Spicy Tonkatsu ramen, definitely add the egg!
Guys, just discovered the most AUTHENTIC JAPANESE RAMEN at @kame.nyc a perfect spot for Ramen lovers. “Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen” is must-try dish👏 Mentioned‼️They offer the best ramen broth with rich favors, chewy noodles, everything just cooked perfectly. The onsen tamago made the broth more richer. Every bites is a satisfying delight. So excited they have spicy option 🌶️ Guys, the Salmon Don is 🔥 happily have a whole plate. A lovely balance of texture & flavorful. Fantastic Tasty, 100% recommended. Of course, you can’t miss any appetizers!!! The home-made dumplings, fired chicken, calamari…. They all are good starters in a ramen store. The Matcha Pannacotta is calling me. SO SMOOTH. The Hot Match Tea made the meal UNFORGETTABLE 😊
Solid ramen spot. Broth is thick and flavorful. Pork is super tender. Onsen egg is extra $2 idt it’s worth it tbh. $33 pp - overall 8/10
We came here at about 2;30 on a cool Tuesday so we were past the lunch rush. There were a few patrons and we were quickly seated. The staff was quick to bring us water, offer drinks, take our order and bring our entrees. The food was just the right temperature and well presented. It would have been nice to have an option to order extra noodles and a vegan option that was visible on the menu. Aside from that, we were pleased with our experience.
Perfect spot to get a quick meal during a cold day! Walked in at 3:20 on a Sunday and were lucky to find a table. They close at 4 pm to reopen for evening service. As expected, quick service, flavorful food, and surprisingly quiet ambiance. The place was at 90% occupancy when we were there. They have a good amount of Vegan options thanks to their dedicated Vegan menu. Order anything that is labeled Spicy and for spice food lovers, it'll definitely hit the spot! Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen ($20), and Spicy shrimp ($23) is what we got. Very flavorful and good portion size. Highly recommended if you enjoy a hot bowl of Ramen!
The Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen had pork belly that were large pieces, meaty and tasty. With so so many ramen places in the City it is hard at times to know which one is worth checking out. Jeni and I had lunch here a few days ago. She likes bao and ordered the pork bun. This version had lots of creamy sauces on top which made it messy to eat. She still prefers the one at Ippoudo. With it she chose the Shoyu Ramen which she enjoyed. My ramen had an unusual flavor of the broth and it was spicy. Kame has been here for about six years and resembles a railroad apartment. The walls are grey and the atmosphere seems dark. Service was fine. Both cash and card are accepted. Two restrooms are in the back.
Customer service was professional and wonderful. ♥️ the ambiance. Food was fantastic! I especially enjoyed the Takoyaki (fried squid ball), Ika Geso (fried squid tentacles) and Spicy Shrimp Ramen. Looking forward to my next dinner here again with family and friends. ¡Mil Gracias! どうもありがとう
Got salmon miso ramen; haven't seen this at other ramen spots before, but it was the perfect balance of flavors! The soup was so good, I got a side of rice at the end to finish it with. I've never felt so strongly about a bowl of ramen - highly recommend :) The vibes are super cute also, with dim lighting perfect for date night
Spice it up at Kame in Chelsea with a wide of appetizers, ramens, and dons. Kame features a contemporary ramen shack with lots of small bites that goes very well with their selection of drinks. They have ramen broth flavors that you won’t find elsewhere. Add a tender onsen egg with perfectly textured yolk that melts instantly in your mouth for complete satisfaction. Kane’s team is super attentive and friendly with quick service that will make you smile. Come check out Kame for your next ramen or don craving!
Great ambiance and attentive staff. The shishito peppers were some of the best I’ve had, the karaage fried chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, and the ramen was amazing. The broth was rich and creamy with pork belly that melts in your mouth. They don’t take reservations, so depending on the day and time there might be a wait but it’s definitely worth it.
What an unforgettable experience! From the very moment we walked in, we were greeted with such a warm and genuine welcome that instantly made us feel at home. The service is truly top-notch—every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive. The level of hospitality here goes far beyond expectations and really sets the tone for the entire dining experience. The food was absolutely outstanding. Ribs are crazy good! The Tonkotsu ramen was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—every bite was comforting yet full of depth. It’s easily one of the best bowls of ramen we’ve had. To finish, the pudding dessert was unbelievably fluffy, silky, and bursting with flavor, a perfect sweet ending to the meal. Overall, the experience was nothing short of amazing. The combination of warm hospitality, exceptional service, and outstanding food makes this place truly special. Without a doubt, this is a 10/10 experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for not just a meal, but a memorable and heartwarming dining experience.
This is the BEST ramen place I’ve ever been to. The soup is rich and tasty. The matcha yuzu drink is a must! Oh also don’t forget a side of egg too, it’s so good and cooked just perfect. The staffs are friendly and giving really good recommendations. Can’t wait to go back there.
I recently visited this Kame, and overall, it was a great experience. The broth was rich and flavorful, especially the spicy tonkotsu ramen, which had a deep, savory taste. The noodles were cooked just right—chewy and satisfying. But the chashu was a bit tough, though I was expecting it to be more tender. The restaurant itself is cozy with a simple, authentic atmosphere. Service was friendly and relatively quick even during busy hours. Prices were reasonable considering the quality. One small downside was that the tough chashu, and the seating can feel a bit cramped when the shop is full. Still, it’s a place I would definitely recommend if you’re craving authentic Japanese ramen.
Amazing place for a comforting ramen bowl! Really enjoyed the flavor of the broth - very creamy, a bit smoky. The onsen egg was very nice - a great addition to the dish. The Yuzu Lemonade and Yuzu Ice tea were wonderful as well! The service is great! Fully recommend this place for any occasion!
(Last visited July 21, 2023.) Working in New York City for the week and my co-worker said he was craving ramen or something of the sort. I did some Yelp'ing as I do and found Kame! Here's why I liked it so much! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of 8th Avenue & 28th Street is this gem. Obviously there isn't a parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking around and I'm sure there are multiple parking structures somewhere around. The original location opened in a different part of the city in 2020 and maintained strength until a leasing dispute forced them to move to where they are now! Inside is a modern, chic, simplistic atmosphere with excellent mood lighting and chill music with no words. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but she was sweet, patient, helpful and just made sure we were well taken care of. Food: I started with the beef bun and it was GOOD. It was so soft and flavorful. The meat wasn’t as tender as I’d like, but it was okay! Just a hint of sweetness. The gyoza was AMAZING. Probably the best I’ve ever had with a different shape, crispy skin, succulent pork that definitely was made fresh in house. The fried chicken was also amazing. It had sesame seeds, peanuts and scallions all on top of its good crispy skin. Mild spiciness and sweetness. DELICIOUS. The Spicy Salmon Ramen was very good. There was a very slight fishy taste, but it didn’t throw the whole dish off. The flavors worked well together and most importantly, the dish wasn’t overly salty. Value: The beef buns are $6.00 each. The gyoza was $11.00 and you get 5 pieces. The fried chicken was also $11.00 and you get 4 chicken-thigh sized pieces. My ramen was $21.00. All in all, this place is adequately priced for sure and everything was well worth it. You can't have excellent quality food without paying for it. You feel me? I'd pay it all over again. In conclusion, I loved it here and I wish them much success! The restaurant is on the smaller side, so make reservations and make sure you check this place out!
