Great service, and even better pizza! The slices are big, and you get everything quick. Would highly recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner 😋
Good pizza place open late at night. The people at the counter were friendly and the restaurant was surprisingly busy despite it being 1:30am on a Thursday night. I got a mushroom pepperoni slice. It was good! The crust of the pizza was awesome! It was perfectly crispy, chewy, and flavorful with the perfect amount of browning on the bottom! The toppings made the slice slightly too oily for my taste, but I guess that's what I get for ordering a pepperoni slice immediately after having a bowl of ramen at the shop around the corner (also open late!)... Overall would recommend this place if you're in the area and craving some late night pizza! There's also a pub next door which I didn't go to this time around but I'm sure a nice slice would HIT after a few beers!
A great place to grab a slice and a drink for $5 on any day! I love sauce so I got the OG cheese slice. The pizza par cooked then finished when order so that it is hot and fresh. The dough is formed to a good NYC thin crust and they do have Sicilian crust options. They have both white and red pizza. I didn’t see cans of San Marzano tomatoes but the sauce was very good. The shop is air conditioned and spotless. The establishment had been given a Grade A rating when I visited. They take card with a $5 order. I’ll be back to try other slice options.
La Vera is a great spot if you’re craving classic New York-style pizza. The slices are big, crispy, and full of flavor — especially the Buffalo Chicken and Vodka pies. They’re open late, so it’s perfect after a night out. There’s usually a bit of a crowd, but service is fast. Seating is limited, so it’s better for a quick bite or takeout. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Midtown!
Good pizza. Nice friendly staff. There are a few tables for seating but they may not be too clean. You need to remind to get thrn cleaned. Pizzas were delicious. We had the Juniors tiramisu which was quite dry. Didn’t quite enjoy it. The Juniors cheesecake was good. Although we would’ve liked the crust to be of graham crackers rather than sponge. Overall a good place to visit for quick pizza.
This is a solid 3.5-4 star place. The people that work here are great to everyone that comes in, seem quite happy to be there, are quick, and make fresh food. It's quite a small, very casual pizza place, with enough seating, a fridge for drinks, and a variety of pizzas to make it worthwhile to stop in. We got a slice of grandma pie as well as a feta pie, that had fresh tomatoes, red onions, and olives on it, yum. Both were yummy, yet both needed seasonings, but that could just be us... Otherwise, if we were in the area again and needed a quick bite or a drink, we would stop in.
This is a gem. You would think it's just another around the corner pizza joint from the outside, even from the inside, it's nothing out of the ordinary. However, one bite of their pizzas, and you are tempted to take another bite. Sure enough, the pizza on display are pre made, but when it's done right, it's a beautiful thing. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. It's nothing out of the ordinary. The slice came out piping hot, crisp on the bottom and yet fluffy on the side. It's firm but not brick hard, crispy and not dry. That's good technique when someone is reheating a pre made pizza slice. Most of the time, people don't care and you either get a luke warm slice that's soggy and limp, or a slice that's borderline burnt. Then I ordered another ordinary meatball spaghetti to take away. Again it's a simple dish that can go wrong. But they've done it right. I went back again tonight, having pre ordered the food online. When I went to pickup, the staffs were friendly and smiling. The food came out piping hot again and it's delicious. This is easily by leaps better than Lucali that I visited a few months ago. I wasn't impressed with that place because of the attitude, the hype and generally the food quality. This one, La Vera, is way better in terms of food quality, friendliness of staffs and a good price point (for Manhattan standard).
I’m not sure if the pizza we had was just old or wasn’t made correctly or whatever other reason it may have been but the pizza here is mediocre. I tried to like it but it was just not very satisfying. The crust had no salt and tasted like cardboard and the sauce had no flavor. The only good part about this pizza was the cheese or rather the only thing I enjoyed anyways. I think they could definitely use more spices in all steps of their pizza making process. And again, I try to not eat too much salt but with this pizza I was practically begging for a little extra salt. Maybe it was just a bad batch/ we got there at the wrong time but 2 stars for the pizza itself. Everything else was fine (customer service was good and tables were relatively clean but place itself could’ve been maintained better)
I actually enjoyed coming here. But today, one of your staff members told me that he wouldn’t accept my tax exemption card. I was very surprised, as I’ve been here several times and it has always been accepted in the past. He couldn’t give me a proper reason why it’s suddenly not valid anymore. That’s unfortunate. You’ve lost a loyal customer!
Ordered a custom pizza a few months ago while visiting NYC. We sat and waited patiently, but once the pizza was cooked, the staff just left it sitting on top of the oven and never called us over. I eventually had to ask where it was, and that’s when they realised they’d also forgotten the garlic knots. By the time we got it, the pizza was lukewarm and honestly pretty average — nothing like the glowing reviews that made us stop by. The service felt disorganised and uninterested, as if they were doing us a favour by taking our order. Maybe they were having an “off day,” but based on our visit, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
