Host your party at Left Bank!! We have been huge fans of Left Bank for years - they never miss. The food is always on point, the entire staff is incredibly kind, vibes are always immaculate, and their music playlists are fire. We’ve hosted two events at Left Bank (our rehearsal dinner and a friend’s baby shower) and Danielle and her team are such a dream to work with. No detail is ever missed and every guest is taken so well care of. Thank you Left Bank!!
Everything at Left Bank is top tier from start to finish. From the moment you walk in the door you’re greeted by warm smiles and a welcoming vibe. The decor is just what this Brooklyn girl wants out of her night out in the West Village. The food deserves its own seperate review - everything hits. The salads, the Cacio e Pepe, today my friend had me try the chicken sandwich with the au jus …. I’m not even home yet and want to turn around for seconds. They had the option for severwl mocktails, which was nice since one of us wasn’t drinking. The service was 10/10, everyone was attentive and all of the serves anticipated our needs. Danielle, the manager was fabulous and I can’t wait to come back!! Cheers!
Delicious apps and entrees and an excellent happy hour to boot! Had 4 apps and the burger and a beer and wine all for only $84. The octopus was my favorite, but all were delish! And the burger was was juicy and full of flavor! Lovely service too. Definitely recommend!!
Downtown neighborhood favorite, dine inside or out the service is attentive and friendly. We had drinks and appetizers… the cauliflower was crunchy and flavourful and the fries- addictive. The vibe is chill and relaxed, there is also a bar area to sit and grab a drink.
Tasty!!! yummy Great joint. Best Dutch Baby we ever had. It is a must order item if you have never had it. We loved all the brunch items and came back a few days later and really enjoyed all the pastas. Here are a few photos from both visits. Will return for sure. We were delighted to have experienced this evening meal at Left Bank. The owner- Michelin - made sure that guests were comfortable whilst New York was experiencing tremendous heat. The meal was amazing. The wine pairing with white pasta was spot on and the grilled trout was delicious. The slow roasted chicken was melt in your mouth delicious. The dessert flan had a glaze that was delicate and tasty and chocolate is always good! Get a reservation for sure as you want to make sure you enjoy a meal whilst visiting NYC!
Great west village staple, the burger is delicious with all kinds of cheese on top, would be great to have some brioche options or maybe a pretzel bun as it come in a toasted sliced rustic bread (that is really good too!) I cannot stop eating their fries and the special dip sauce, they follow me in my dreams. The chocolate mousse is amongst the best in New York, drinks are perfectly done and the staff is the nicest lead by the amazing Danielle. Atmosfere is warm and welcoming, feels like a friend's house, great place for a date or dinner w the group. Definitely a go.
I came to Left Bank for dinner as a tourist from Japan. The service from the staff was excellent and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great. I would like to come to this restaurant again every time I come to New York. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Come here for the Dutch baby pancakes and stay for the vibes - it’s a charming brunch place in the west village with delicious food and lots of space to accomodate different group sizes. We walked in and got a table immediately!
Loved the Dutch Baby!!!!!!!!! Great place for brunch on Sunday! They take reservations! The hubs also loved his pot roast! So tasty~~~~~~~~~ The portion sizes were perfect! Try the house made sausages! We were super glad we did!!!!!!!!!
Manhattan has a flock of rotisserie birds but Left Bank’s Poulet is unparalleled! We love the ambiance of the restaurant but to get the bird and sides delivered fast, fresh and hot to our door is also a delight. A true neighborhood gem. Yum!
We came here for happy hour and enjoyed all the food and drinks we ordered. The cheeseburger was incredibly juicy and tender, and the fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The octopus and oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be back!
Love this place! Have been here multiple times over the years. I hosted my father’s surprise 70th birthday and came back to have my 30th birthday a few months later! Food is always delicious (cacio de pepe, steak frites and mussels are my fav!). Service is always on point. Danielle is very helpful when planning larger parties and Eli is the best server!
Went for brunch and the whole experience was absolutely amazing! It was Father’s Day, so the restaurant was completely booked. They offered full service at the bar so we had some mimosas, mules, margaritas and food. Drinks were phenomenal, food was exceptional and service was excellent. 100% recommend and I cannot wait to go back and try the dinner menu!
Was looking for a place that could accommodate 1 on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. I sat at the bar; the bartenders were very kind and attentive. I ordered the Village Green cocktail and the Cacio e Pepe which were both excellent.
They were swamped on Friday night and created a makeshift seat for me on an awkward corner, but it was perfect. Beautiful place. Cheers from AZ!
Came here for late lunch. Had an amazing pasta and French toast. Service was a little behind the mark. Seemed understaffed. Hope next time it'll be better.
The restaurant deserves repeat visits. This place balances speed, quality, and reasonable costs. Their food quality never disappoints. The restaurant sits in a convenient district. This place justifies every cent.
Happy hour here is the best. Early dinner + drinks. Love the neighborhood vibes and super kind staff.
We keep coming back to left bank because it is simply that good. Always a great atmosphere, super attentive staff, and the food is incredible. We love sharing appetizers like the calamari and the shaved Brussels salad whenever we go with a group, and then indulge in a delicious bowl of pasta, or the cheeseburger. It always hits the spot!
Had a wonderful meal here with my best friend. The calamari appetizer was delightful. The taccole with short ribs was perfect. My friend had the steak. He’s meat & potatoes through and through. He was very happy. The atmosphere was very laid back, and the service was great. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Great food and service. Server (forgot his name but young guy from Dublin, CA) was great and food spot on. All 6 in our party agreed we would be back again.
Exceeded all expectations Sat solo at the bar and enjoyed lovely conversation with the two bartenders on staff. Started off my meal with dill pickle chips and Mediterranean olives and feta for apps which were both fantastic I enjoyed the bolognese for my main. The pasta was made to perfection, and the sauce full of flavor. Not too oily Ended the night with a heavenly tiramisu. Atmosphere is perfect for a date night, but alas, I shall return solo at the bar for now
Came here with my wife and daughter. We were greeted pleasantly, seated immediately. The vibe was very relaxed, cozy and elegant. Service was attentive and friendly. The food and drink were excellent. The place grew livelier as the evening went on, but not oppressively so, and the music was at a volume that allowed for conversation...all too rare, it seems. Would definitely return. The Happy Hour specials were quite good as well. Good job, everyone!
Wow - pleasantly surprised by this cute corner spot. Fantastic happy hour drinks, delicious food, including rotisserie cauliflower appetizer, chicken broccoli rabe sandwich with sublime fries. Too stuffed to try dessert, but will be back. Surprisingly not as full of annoying Gen Z types as the Hudson spots nearby, like Dante. Nice mix of people, totally lovely evening.
We love Left Bank and like to come here for birthdays and other special occasions. Most recently we had brunch, party of 10, and it was divine. Delicious food - lots of Dutch babies at our table! The new side of Brussels sprouts won me over to Brussels sprouts. The tiramisu..! The service is wonderful - thank you, Laurence, and Chris our server & team for the warm welcome and attention. The space is lovely, roomy, with big windows, the music on point, and as a bonus we got to watch the snow falling outside. THANK YOU!
Left Bank is truly one of my favorite spots in the city. I go often, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The location is perfect, the ambiance is cozy yet lively, and the food and drinks are consistently excellent. Their happy hour is unbeatable, too. The staff is always welcoming, but I want to give a special shoutout to Eli. He is incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive every single time. His recommendations are always spot-on, and he has a way of making the entire experience feel personal and memorable. I’m always telling friends—and honestly, anyone who will listen—to check out Left Bank. It’s an absolute gem and one of the best spots in the neighborhood.
We had our last dinner in NYC at the petit restaurant. It was across the street from our son's apartment. We had no reservation but were seated immediately on a Saturday night. We shared a scallop appetizer and mussels mariniere for a main course. The service, food and ambiance were perfect for a neighborhood cafe. Will return next year.
Got the Cacio e Pepe and the gnocchi and both were fire. Definitely will be back. I love the way the cacio e pepe was cooked al dente
I took brunch here with my friend and we took the Arctic char (good quality fish) & eggs florentine — both dishes were nice. Service was good and space was good too.
Food is a 5, but getting 4 stars for some below average drink execution.. I dont love the negroni if not with a bit ice block. The dirty martine had a lonely olive floating on it’s own, not the alcohol kick we were expecting. Anyways, back to the food! Mussels were so full of flavor and the fries crisp and with a great sauce. On the table the burger also got a lot of compliments. Was packed on a fri night, we had a reservation
Only had drinks, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely go back to try the food
Great spot in the west village with a solid happy hour menu! $25 for pasta and a wine or any two appetizers is a great deal in this economy. Server was so kind and I really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. Only negative for me to say was that the bolognese was super oily (see photo below). The flavor of the dish was great and I ate it all, but was left with an upset stomach because of all the oil. Would come back for the appetizer deal or even the burger which looked great! They also brought out a dessert for our friends birthday - one of the best chocolate mousses I’ve had!
Great brunch place. The reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars is that it's pretty expensive for what you get. Like, all the dishes are nice, but not super fancy to justify the prices.
Solid food and charming experience. Happy Hour combo is nice. We go often and will go again.
Good food and good atmosphere. We had the avocado and eggs on bread, the salmon and egg Benedict and the Dutch baby. The food was good. Better atmosphere and more enthusiastic customer service would take it from good to great
Really delicious organic/comfy food in a French bistro -inspired cute place in the middle of Greenwich village. A very good jazz setlist is part of the experience. A bit pricey with not the friendliest servers, but overall a pretty nice experience.
Great experience, simple food done well. Appetizers didn’t quite live up to expectations, but our main was enjoyable. Great wine. Dessert was decent as well. Service and atmosphere were the standouts here, would give these aspects a little more than 4 stars if I could.
Several of the dishes such as chicken and gnocchi were very much enjoyed. The Farro grain bowl was served cold, disappointing. Luckily the other vegan entree (pasta) dish was much better. Service was great.
Fun, lively neighborhood feel. Service is fast and friendly. Food is decent but very unspectacular, with the chicken baguette really good while the rotisserie chicken really dry.
Nice atmosphere, typical west village customer base. Food was good, their burger and meatballs were memorable. Cooked well, good flavor, and texture.
The rotisserie chicken is the draw. Meatball starter was delicious. Nice place. Casual with lots of club kids eating before going out.
I will go back here any day for the Egg Omelette!!! The holiday drinks were good too! Love the brunch vibes here. The ambience was too loud, too crowded and too hot (temperature) for my liking. I could hardly hear the employees speak, and since the tables were so close to other tables they had to stand a bit farther than usual. Edit in 2025- the quality of food has gone down, not flavorful anymore. The home fries had no salt or pepper. Just bland.
Food is good if a little on the salted side; service is not so: the waitress kept on disappearing and forgetting our requests; in the restaurant we were 2 tables with a total of 7 guests; there were at least 4 personnel. Also, I don’t get this fashion of serving coffee without a saucer.
Read some good reviews about LB and liked the look of the place and the menu. Unfortunately, things went downhill pretty quickly once we ordered: the iced tea was over brewed (undrinkable, we asked for something else and we're charged for both). We then had appetizers: mediocre Brussels sprouts-- v acidic but ok calamari. For entrees best dish was halibut (recommend) also had trout that was supposed to be whole fish but was not, and just meh. A side order of french fries was totally forgotten and brought after meal was finished, but we were charged for that too.
Went there for the dutch baby, which they serve on the weekend for brunch. But it was burnt. Service wasn’t great too
Took 3 hours as a 3 top table reservation and we showed up on time. Service was nice but painfully slow and restaurant wasn’t busy. We had to flag down our server for everything: to order drinks, to order apps, to order entrees (yes this was done separately for some reason), to bus table btwn courses, to order dessert… I mean, absolutely ridiculous. We even got out of our seat to go get our server who was hanging out on his phone with the bartender behind the bar. Food was okay. The gnocchi was the best dish. The calamari is grilled, not fried which was a happy surprise and tasted good. The burger was boring. The salmon had too much mustard. The muscles were okay but nothing spectacular. The olive oil cake and tiramisu were fine but not memorable.
The waiter was great. However, the general manager can’t recall her name, but she was very welcoming unpleasant having sidebars with the staff in regards to me made me feel very uncomfortable and I’m disturbed by this establishment.I thought it was unprofessional, lack elegance, and uncouth also I thought like I was being rushed. I had a glass of wine, happy hour, and some Parmesan fries first time in Restaurant confrontation with white people ridiculous. It’s crazy it feels crazy it is crazy part of the psyche Systemic, micro, aggression, passive aggressive racism need to be examined for what it is. but what it is racism. What are they without that? regards as she was like rushing didn’t even ask the next table where they OK I was asked twice and she had The host, Tablet iPad .my name is Joseph please note she needs to take a culture class and a fine dining course in hospitality. Best first time customer. -Joseph
The Dutch Baby is okay. But the shrimp cocktail was a disaster. Not enough cocktail sauce and the shrimps were so stale and fishy. And look at the pic, they didn’t even devin shrimps. They could have robbed $15 from me but they chose to serve me this. Service was like I waited 20 min for my latte.
This place looks great from the outside. I usually walk by it and it's usually pretty busy, but today I decided to go and it wasn't very busy. I was sat with my partner, and it took quite a while for the server to approach. We ordered a calamari appetizer and a large portion of the muscles. The calamari came and was a large portion, but tasted like someone had freshly washed it with soap. The muscles came and the plate itself was huge, but every other muscle was empty and just a shell and there was NO sauce. It was hands down the strangest meal. I also don't think our server was sober. She was slow, unfriendly, and slurred a few of her words. It looks cute, but none of the food was remotely tasty.
