A bit pricey but delicious

Lex was excellent. We had the penne a la vodka, angel hair pasta and the fettuccine a la toscana and it was great. A bit pricey but delicious.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in NY. The food is always delicious and the service is on point. Don't sleep on this one!

Wow. Talk about the 1960s-80s. And that’s a good thing. This place from the second you walk in until the moment you walk out screams family owned. The service is impeccable the greetings were heartfelt. The food was remarkably good the drinks had generous pour. Even the house red was really fine The bill was less than you’d expect. There was not a sour note during the entire experience Cannot recommence highly enough.

I went there 2 weeks ago with my coworker. We had such an amazing time. The Host and Manager were fantastic and accommodating to us. I had the steak (which I posted a picture of) and I honestly would say its one of the greatest meals I've had in my life. The restaurant is truly a beautiful sight and I will be there again in the near future.

We arrived toward the end of the brunch session, with no other customers in sight. We feared this was a bad sign, but other open options didn’t sound as appetizing. The wait staff was warm, friendly and attentive even though they were busy setting large tables to accommodate reservations for the evening. Everything about our outdoor table out on Lexington, its tent warm from heaters; the people; the food (and wine) was exquisite and lovely. What had been simply a side quest for fast food before returning to Central Park turned into a romantic respite. And if that weren’t enough, the waiter surprised us with four delicious biscotti as a free dessert.

There's never been a day where I've had bad service here. The food is delicious. Everything is made fresh. My favorite dishes are the Seafood Risotto, Rigatoni, the special of the day which included Salmon, Roasted Potatoes and a crab and shrimp stuffing on top of the salmon. It was so yummy. Let's not even get started on the appetizers and deserts! Try the crab-cake and brownie, you will not be upset. They staff is amazing!!!! They make sure you are comfortable and satisfied from the beginning of your stay until the time you leave. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We had an amazing meal at Lex. The staff was friendly and very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. The calamari was excellent to start. We had the pappardelle with veal ragu and the penne vodka with chicken, both were amazing. We will be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

This place is… amazing! The mussels with white wine is to die for. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable night. I came by myself and felt so comfortable and appreciated. Come here for birthdays, anniversaries, and any arbitrary reason! Youll enjoy it!

Fantastic food and service. The calamari is super fresh and the crab cakes, though small, are delicious. The salads are tiny but well balanced. The branzino is delicious. Well stocked bar. Attentive staff. I've been twice!

The Lex restaurant has been a second home for me in the last 10 years. The service is extraordinary, super cozy atmosphere and best of all, the food is absolutely delicious and authentic. It's a perfect go to for a date night, family gathering, celebration, dinner with your girlfriends or a brunch afternoon. I would highly recommend listening to the specials from your server as they are always super diverse and amazing every time! My personal favorites are the crab cakes and grilled chicken salad to start with. For entrees, you can't go wrong, it's more of what you're in the mood for that evening. If you want great service, delicious food and cozy atmosphere, than this is the place for you!

What a lovely cozy place, food is excellent!

Lex is the only place in NYC that is consistent when it comes to good food and service. The food is superb and is always HOT. The place may not look like much from the outside however dont miss a chance to have a great meal here. I have been coming here for years and the staff is the same....says something positive about the establishment if you ask me. My favorite dishes are the veal martini, any pasta dish and the branzino fish are excellent.

Recently took my girlfriend here for our anniversary dinner. The food and service was great and they made sure it was a special night for us both. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Fresh roses on the table, Italian waiter who treated my daughter like his own daughter. She has celiac, and he helped her order a gluten free pasta dish and paired it with a glass of Chardonnay. She was so happy! The pasta with clams had fresh clams in their shells. Beautiful! The chicken parmesan was so generous, I took half home to my other daughter who was in the hotel feeling unwell. Fabulous meal!

Delicious food and great vibes! The manager who runs the floor is very hospitable. This is a great Italian restaurant for anyone who’s into Italian food. What I loved most was the spinach ricotta ravioli, it is simply great!

We came here as a big group of 10 and were blown away! Hospitality, mood, vibes, and, of course, the food, all just amazing! The place isn't very big but don't be fooled, magic comes out of that kitchen. We had calamari, meatballs and some of the best eggplant I've ever had! GET THE EGGPLANT app! Our table had a variety of dishes from chicken scarp, to filet of sole specials and pork chop specials. Everyone was beyond happy (and we're picky foodies!). We had wine flowing the whole time and finished off with delicious coffee and desserts. Amazing dinner, can't wait to be back! Thanks everyone at Lex!

Has the garlic caper branzino here last night and it was soooo tasty.

Amazing food, made a reservation for 4 online and it was phenomenal. We all got different pastas and loved it. Service was great, ambiance was a little formal and adorable, with real roses in every table. Was super empty 6pm on a saturday, which was great!!

This is an authentic Italian spot! The prices are a little higher but well worth it. They gave a little bruschetta along with the bread to start which was a nice touch. The penne alla vodka was perfectly cooked, with sauce that was creamy and clung to every noodle. The tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. Light, full of flavor and a decent portion, it was the perfect way to finish the meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, quiet, and intimate, perfect for a date night.

Quaint little place we decided to stop at as we had time to kill before an event! The staff was super friendly, the food was amazing and perfect portion sizes - not too small that you're still hungry but not too big that you can't finish. The place feels on the fancy side and the prices are what you'd expect. Overall, worth it and when we're back down to the city, we'll definitely come back!

Went here for my mom's 75th birthday, and the service couldn't have been more wonderful. The waitstaff were so kind and attentive, and the gratis biscotti and limoncello at the end of the evening was a nice bonus. They really made it a special night!

I think this is the best Italian restaurant I've been to. I've taken all of my visiting friends and dates here to sample real Italian food without the location overpricing of Little Italy, but with better quality too. Their pastas are absolutely amazing--the pasta itself is delicious and done right, and their sauces are just fantastic with the right texture and taste without being too salty. I took my parents here once, and my mother (daughter to a chef in DC who served 4 presidents) was so impressed that she asked to speak with the chef. I think this is mostly a family-run business, and they seem to do it right. The owner greets you at the door, and the staff will take good care of you. I seem to get the tall server pretty often, and he's very knowledgeable and provides great service. I've been offered extras on the house, probably because they recognize me after all these visits. I was really worried that my favorite restaurant in UES would not make it through the pandemic, but I was so relieved when I saw that they're still around. Thank you for your great food and experience, I'll be back!

Upper East Side Sanctuary. Small and very clean place. Service is very professional and supportive. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The food is really good. Strongly recommend. You might need to make a reservation for dinner if you want to secure your spot. Their menu selection is very impressive.

My girlfriend and I were walking in NYC and saw this beautiful outdoor dining area that caught our attention. They had heaters above the table and below for your feet but we decided to sit inside. It was beautiful. Candle lit and real roses it was very romantic. The cocktails were delicious my girlfriend had an espresso martini and I had an old fashion. They had plenty of specials that all sounded excellent along with the regular menu. From appetizers to dessert they went above and beyond our expectations and even gave us a free after dinner drinks on the house. We will definitely be returning !

My Sister Christina lives at E.88th and Lexington and she took me to the Lex when I recently visited her. I had the lasagne and it was the best I've had from all the Italian restaurants I've been to. She just sent me 2 servings, in Detroit, and I was stunned at how delicious it was after that journey. Wait staff are the greatest as well!!!

Absolute best bolognese pasta!! Service was amazing, waiters were kind and attentive. Ambient was lovely. Food quick to the table and amazing dessert selection. A bit high on the price but worth it!

This place is terrific. We stumbled on it by accident. We were actually roaming down Lexington trying to find a decent slice of pizza when we happened upon this wonderful restaurant and decided to follow our gut. So glad we did. The menu was outstanding and the food was terrific. Our server, Kazan, was everything a server could be, from helping us decide on the specials to making sure we had everything we needed and also giving us a little bonus of some limoncello to cleanse the palate. Definitely going to be on our agenda the next time we hit NYC .

I got here pretty late, about 50 minutes before they closed. I was worried that I might be turned away or could only ordered takeouts. Good thing they were nice and friendly enough to give me a table. I got a French onion soup and a 16oz porterhouse. The bread was nice and soft, and the olive oil they served was very nice quality. It was very fresh tasting and fruity. The French onion soup was very delicious. The sweetness from the caramelized onions and the savory flavor from the broth. The bread was soaked with broth and covered with cheese. It was simply delicious. The 16oz porterhouse was cooked median rare. It was very good. The meat was tender, and not too fatty. The fat around was very minimal. It was enough to enhance the flavor and not too much to be too greasy. The cause was wonderful! I don’t know what’s in it, but it was almost floral. The vegetables (string beans and carrots) and mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection. The vegetables still had a snap to it, but cooked. The mashed potatoes were creamy and fluffy. Overall, it was a great neighborhood restaurant. The seating was comfortable, and music was nice and soft. I saw that most customers were regulars and lived in the neighborhoods. So happy to discover another great restaurant in my neighborhood!

I’ve been going to Lex Restaurant since it opened and I love every dish I’ve had. Surprisingly this was the first time I had fettuccine Alfredo off the menu. It was the BEST I ever had and I’ve eaten this dish all over the City. My pal always orders off menu and he never has any problems doing so. This is our Best Neighbor place. A traditional Italian restaurant with excellent service and good food. We sat at the outdoor heated seating, which was very comfortable but have also previously dined indoors. The indoor decor is very cozy. The seafood risotto was excellent, and the veal piccata was tender and well marinated. We ordered the special dessert for the day (apple crumble pie with ice cream) and the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. Both desserts were super yummy.

Very nice atmosphere, and service and food were good. But when I ordered a shrimp Cobb salad, I thought I'd get more than 2 shrimp. Is that a smart way to economize?

The brownie with vanilla ice cream is to die for. Salmon with potatoes is average. Pasta is good. The waiter with the pony tail is extremely nice; some of the other staff, less so.

"Typical" Manhattan Italian restaurant. Food was excellent, service was attentive and focused, the outside space could use some sprucing up and the inside space was very noisy/tables close together. Surprisingly, cocktails were not made well ... I think they need a bar tender who knows how to craft a cocktail. Service trailed off a bit at the end as they become quite busy, but we were already on coffee, so was fine. Prices were actually quite reasonable given the recent inflation.

My husband and I had dinner at Lex Restaurant last night before attending an event at the 92nd St Y. It's perfectly located just across the street from the Y if you're planning to attend a show or discussion there. The food was great and the ambiance was good. The service, unfortunately, was disappointing. The owner/maître d' was very pleasant and helpful, the young men helping with table service were great, but our waiter, sadly, was not. He was rushed, refused to listen to questions before providing inaccurate responses, and, at the end of the evening, brought us the wrong check to pay. Everyone has bad days - this was certainly one of his. Still, we will definitely be back.

I absolutely loved the food here. My boyfriend and I shared Penne ala Vodka with chicken and the Rigatoni with sausage. Both of these pasta dishes were extremely flavorful. I would have given Lex 5 stars accept for one thing...there was a cockroach on the wall!!!! My boyfriend and I were pretty grossed out by this, but the food was so good that I honestly could only knock off one star. I would 100% eat here again, I would just hope there were no more bugs!

Pricey, but what else would you expect. The penne a la vodka sauce and noodles were good but the chicken chunks in it were tasteless and did nothing to the meal. The bacon/peas pasta in pink sauce was absolutely amazing.

Service is amazing, servers are attentive and courteous but not overbearing, food is great.

We found this place on a Groupon right before heading back home. Enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, welcoming staff and good was deliciously flavored.

VERY GOOD BUT NOT GREAT. Walter was our outstanding waiter, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, enhanced our evening. But the evening started with a totally mediocre effort. They have an excellent bread to start, and it was a large offering, but it wasn't served warm! To me that's the height of laziness and uncaring in a restaurant's efforts. Getting past that we ordered the special appetizer, oysters Rockefeller, which I haven't had in a long time and it was outstanding. I also ordered a special entree , rainbow trout topped with a copious amounts of almonds and a nice glaze. Just delicious. The wife however was disappointed with her veal. Just a thin slice topped with arugula. Nothing exciting. Shared dessert was vanilla ice cream melting over a warm apple something which was a nice finish. Perhaps they'll read this and start serving warm bread for when we'll return as that's how you start a meal.

We had to send back the rack of lamb, because we didn't know it was fried, so we ordered the Branzino instead. Good flavor but we prefer the skin a bit more krispy. I ordered my steak medium rare the first 25% of the steak was over cooked, but still juicy, once I got to the center part it was cooked to perfection. The fried calamari was delicious.

I frequent this restaurant whenever I am town for business. I have had many pleasant experiences. Tonight however, was not good. I was told there was no room inside for a single diner, so I was seated (alone) in the very musty smelling “shed”. I would understand if they were really over-booked, but I saw a woman stop, read the outside menu, and then get seated inside. Apparently she had the look to snag a table. Like I said, I’m a frequent guest, but after tonight I will find a new spot. Food was very mediocre.

Definitely not recommending this place. The waiter was very pushy in upselling the food. Food was okay but not to come back for. It was lacking freshness and vibrance. Prices are too high for what is presented. The restroom was not clean, no towel(s) and very smelly. We had to take our own coats when we were leaving. The television(!!!!) at the bar was an annoying distraction. The courtesy to say goodbye from staff was not there. We went here because of the positive reviews. But this place has had its best days long ago…

Food is great. Victor, the manager/owner is an Amazon host! Unfortunately, when he is not there this place is a circus! I NEVER eat there unless Victor is present. The rest of the staff are RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. They are hurting this restaurant!!

My friend and I were denied entry to a restaurant simply because he is blind and accompanied by his guide dog. This is a clear case of discrimination and a violation of the law. Under both federal and New York State law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and New York Civil Rights Law § 47, individuals with disabilities have the right to be accompanied by service animals in all public places, including restaurants. Refusing access is not only discriminatory—it is illegal.

I have never eaten at this restaurant and I never will. I was walking past the restaurant and the wind caught my dress and I had a Marilyn Monroe moment. Manager John Jokovic (or so he told me) and a waiter with a brown ponytail and glasses were standing outside yelling to me that they wanted to see more and they saw my private parts. Screaming like teenage boys. Absolutely disgusting behavior in a dangerous world. They should either be reprimanded or fired for this behavior. Women beware!
