Visited Mr. Purple and really enjoyed the experience. The rooftop has amazing views of the city and a cool outdoor space that includes a swimming pool, which adds to the whole vibe. The atmosphere feels lively without being overwhelming. I was also pleasantly surprised that the drinks weren’t super expensive, and they actually tasted great. Definitely a nice spot to hang out, relax, and take in the skyline. Would recommend visiting during the summer to enjoy outdoor space!
Mr. Purple is a very nice and spacious rooftop restaurant and bar. I love the fact that they have a pool which was nice. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves at an event we attended here. I would definitely come back again.
Good music, good vibes, good views I like to go here every Saturday with my friends, My favorite place and The bartender here David F he so nice, lovely and makes delicious drinks. He's also very friendly and easy to talk to.
Perched atop the Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side, Mr. Purple stands as one of New York City’s most stylish rooftop bars and nightlife destinations. The design is sleek and industrial-chic, with reclaimed wood, metal finishes, and loft-inspired décor that perfectly complements its downtown edge. Guests are immediately drawn to the sweeping skyline views, which stretch from Midtown’s iconic towers to the bridges over the East River, making it a quintessential spot for sunset cocktails. The venue features both intimate terraces and a lively main space, including a poolside deck that elevates its exclusivity. Music is curated through dynamic DJ sets, striking a balance between lounge sophistication and high-energy rhythms as the night progresses. Cocktails are crafted with precision, with signatures such as the bottled Moscow Mule and the tequila-based Mr. Purple being consistent favorites.
Went here for their new brunch experience last weekend and had a great time. Fun rooftop party vibes and a classic brunch menu Absolutely must get the Bagel with Lox featuring that beautiful tompkins square bagel and locally sourced smoked salmon. They have all the brunch cocktails or check out their perfect espresso martini. Great for a date or group brunch
I had an amazing experience dining here thanks to yogi! From the moment we were seated, he made us feel welcome and taken care of. His attentiveness, warm personality, and knowledge of the menu really stood out. Every recommendation he gave was spot-on, and he managed to balance professionalism with a genuine friendliness that made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like hers elevates the whole dining experience. You can tell he truly cares about his guests and takes pride in what he does. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends thanks to the outstanding service he provided!
ricky created an amazing experience for us when we visited this spot! it’s a gorgeous rooftop bar with comfortable seating, great views, good vibes, and stellar service (thanks to ricky). she made me the best lychee martini i’ve ever had and was happy to chat with us when we were at the bar. watching her work was amazing: i could see there were some regulars that had come back because she greeted them all by name, and she made new guests feel welcome. she was friendly, efficient, creative, and just simply knew what she was doing. it was a pleasure to visit with ricky and i’ll definitely be back whenever i’m back in town, hopefully on a night she’s working!
Very nice rooftop bar with sweeping views of the city. They have a great selection of beer, well drinks, and cocktails. Wonderful staff. I had such a fantastic experience with Ricky. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcome and taken care of. Her drink recommendations were spot‑on, the cocktails she made were awesome (make sure you try the lychee tini), and you could tell she's a pro. What stood out most was her personality — friendly, attentive, and effortlessly professional. Even when the bar got busy, she never missed a beat and made sure I was having a great time. It’s rare to find someone who can mix great drinks and create such a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re visiting Mr. Purple, do yourself a favor and grab a seat at the bar. Ricky is a true gem and made the night unforgettable.
Mr. Purple is such a vibe. The views are incredible, the drinks are beautifully made, and the whole atmosphere feels like the perfect mix of stylish and chill. it just feels special without being stuffy. Huge shoutout to our server, Courtnee, who made the experience even better. She was attentive and genuinely fun — the kind of service that turns a great night into a memorable one. She had perfect recommendations and checked in just the right amount.
I was first introduced to Mr Purple by a friend visiting from LA but I didn’t accept the offer. I immediately regretted it when he sent photos of the view and shared his experience. Since then, I wanted to visit but didn’t want to go there alone.. Then my friends and I heard about the matinee disco party and we finally planned a night out there. Would you believe I ended up there alone because my friends went to another spot? I decided I was not leaving because the staff were very nice to me especially Ricky!!!!, and the drinks were amazing! They all ended up coming to Mr Purple that night… after they realized I was having more fun… and we’ve been there a second time since. If you ever feel like having a night out with friends.. or by yourself in a place where you are safe and welcomed with great service ..I highly recommend Mr Purple!! Ask for Ricky! She makes the best cocktails especially French 75!!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mr. Purple in New York. The rooftop views were unlike anything else, truly breathtaking. I also want to give a hugh shoutout to our wonderful server Courtnee. Thank you, Courtnee, for making our first visit so special and for recommending The Formula for our meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth. Incredible food, outstanding service, and all delivered with a warm, genuine smile. I'm so happy we had such an unforgettable dining experience-thank you, Courtnee!
came in today for a drink with a girlfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Wasn’t too busy or loud around 6pm. Drinks were good, and the views from the rooftop are beautiful! We enjoyed a special where you get a steak, fries and martini for $35 that our server Alma recommended and it was great. Will come again
I had the absolute best experience at Mr. Purple the other night! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was perfect. What really made my night, though, was the incredible service. My server, Elma, was beyond amazing. She knew the menu inside out and gave spot-on recommendations for drinks. Between the great vibes, top-tier drinks, and exceptional service, it will become my new go-to spot. If you go (and you should!), definitely ask for Elma, you’ll be in great hands!
I’ve been coming to Mr. Purple for months, and honestly, the place wouldn’t feel the same without Ricky. She’s not just an incredible bartender, she’s the reason the night hits differently. Ricky has this rare way of making you feel instantly welcome, remembered, and taken care of. Your drink is always perfect, the service never feels forced, and the energy she brings behind the bar is unmatched. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that kind of service is rare. The views are stunning, the vibe is iconic, but Ricky is the magic. She turns a great night into an unforgettable one. Once you’ve been served by her, you get it.Thank you Mr. Purple for having someone like Ricky behind the bar. She is truly one of a kind and the reason this place feels so special. Her energy, care, and attention to detail make every visit memorable. Places are made great by people like her, and you’re lucky to have her.
Came here on a weekday while visiting NYC was a bit quiet but Elma was my server and made my experience so amazing. Not only was she super personable but recommended some amazing drinks, she even invited me back for the summer when the rooftop is open. I ended up staying longer than expected ! Will definitely be back and bring some friends. Views were beautiful as well.
This has been our favourite coffee destination in the Lower East Side for the last few years whenever we have been in New York. Great coffee, great morning pastries and the staff are great at efficiently getting through the long lines. Great atmosphere, with people who appreciate good coffee.
Great spot for a coffee, whether you’re working on your laptop or meeting up with friends. Really good espresso and a nice atmosphere.
I’m dumbfounded by the 4.2 average rating. The coffee here is delicious and the value for the same is outstanding. Delicious coffee in your typical coffee shop setting delivered hot, tasty and fast. Three dollar drip coffee and a five dollar latte. If you’re in the area why would you go anywhere else?
Stopped by this place while strolling on the Lower East Side for a coffee to go. Strong flavour profile, I went for a macchiato, it was not bitter, pretty good coffee, I would come back here if I come back in this area, good spot. Delivers as promised, efficient service. P.S.: please leave a 👍 if you found this review helpful, thank you 🙏
I love here. Their coffee is decent and they have better pastries among other coffee shops in the neighborhood. Also love to peoplewatch cuz most of them wear great outfits. One thing I noticed recently is their entrance door is making an annoying noise when it closes. Hope they fix this door problem real soon!
Great place to grab a quick coffee in the morning especially if you are staying at the Hotel Indigo directly across the street! Salted caramel latte was PERFECT! not too sweet not too bitter, PERFECT! Service was quick and you'd play about the same if you got Starbucks but the quality is 100% better. The coffee shop is super quite for Instagram photos too! Definitely a trendy vibe!
Started Sunday morning off with a few coffees. The line went out the door but took less than five minutes. We ordered a Latte with Oat Milk and an Iced Coffee with Oat Milk. They were excellent. The extra Oat Milk is a $2 addition which seems steep. They did a great job of decorating the store with plants. Will absolutely return
It's a big bar with dancing space on the 15th floor. I was there to dance and see the rooftop, it was some free special that night. But that night it was raining so the rooftop was closed. I just saw vague skyline through the glass walls. Overall it was nice to dance, not crowded.
Mr. Purple was a lot of fun! The rooftop view of the city was immaculate, and they had a great selection of music as well. The drinks were solid, and I enjoyed the overall vibe of Mr. Purple as a whole. Would recommend!
The food was good! But I was not a fan of the drinks. The pornstar martini was more so a passionfruit mimosa, pure prosecco! It was so bubbly rather than smooth. Any good bar serves the prosecco on the side. Our waitress and all the staff were amazing though and the view is worth the $25 drinks. Great music as well. Just really bummed by the drink.
solid coffee at a decent price—when you need caffeination when walking around the Lower East Side. there’s a small amount of seating inside—typically take up by laptop-heads and screen addicts. overall, a fairly unmemorable experience but sometimes that’s all a cup of coffee needs to be.
A nice urban vibe coffee shop in Lower East Side. The aesthetic here is very moody yet warm and inviting. The baristas were nice and the line moved quickly. I ordered just a drip coffee and it tasted pretty good considering it was about the same price as a Starbucks and not overpriced like other places. The coffee was smooth without being too bitter or sour. Location is super close to other landmarks nearby like the popular restaurants. I could see this being a regular go-to for those living nearby.
This was our second visit to this property, both times at sunset, this time as hotel guests. The view is breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for sunset cocktails. However, regarding the food and cocktails, both are of low quality and do not meet our expectations. We had the worst Aperol Spritz we have had. Bartenders had no clue. Additionally, the bartender was arguing with a client over a card and tried to involve me in the discussion, which was very rude and inappropriate. We had one drink, enjoyed the fantastic view, and left. Many rooftop options, avoid this one.
Coffee fine, no to stay cups, pastries very limited and the carrot cake I had was too sweet. You can sit inside and it’s warm and good music thus the 4 star for atmosphere. Opens earlier than others so that’s good
The experience itself was not bad, just the coffee. Our cappuccino, salted caramel latte, and flat white, each had the unpleasant bitterness of a poorly pulled espresso shot. The flat white wasn’t a flat white. It was a slightly larger cappuccino with the wrong amount of foam. The pain au chocolate was ok. Nothing to write home about. The barista seemed to be having an epiphany about how to make coffee drinks while we’re were drinking ours. I’d have preferred if they had the epiphany BEFORE making our drinks 😆. In all, I think the baristas just need a little more training before they hit the floor. Specifically in a he difference between drinks. Maybe the machines needs to be dialed in differently too.
Lowering another star, got here early AM only 3 people on laptops and no wifi connectivity, just too inconsistent. Still great drinks tho. Unfortunately lowered a star due to WiFi weakness. I couldn’t connect to wifi late afternoon visit, a cafe should have that capability all day and it wasn’t crazy crowded. Great lattes (~$6, which is typical in LES but also good so worth). Friendly staff and nice back area to work. Theres a big desk for 5 ish people w laptops and outlets along the back wall, and then some couch spaces. Great music kinda old school vibe. Definitely recommend, one of my favorite cafes in this area.
Only good thing about this place is the bathroom attendant Ibrahim. Came in knowing it’s a club and drinks would be more expensive, but the tequila soda I paid over $20 for was extraordinarily weak. Having learned my lesson about ordering liquor from the place, I went back for a second round and asked if they had White Claw. Bartender hands me a Surfside (a little more than $11 for the can), and then PROCEEDS TO SIGN FOR ME, TIP FOR ME, AND TAKE THE HANDHELD AWAY before I can even touch it. This was an extremely quick movement, like he is very well practiced at signing and tipping for customers while they’re putting their cards away the moment they tap. I tipped 20% on my first round. I don’t know what the average tip at this business is or if a noticeable number of customers don’t tip, but frankly, that’s not my problem. You CANNOT sign and tip on a bill on a customer’s behalf. That is outrageously disrespectful, and probably illegal. Maybe he felt overwhelmed by his ~7 customers at his nightclub bar, but that does not excuse this. Truly appalling. I wonder how much money he steals from unknowing customers per month with this kind of behavior. Dude needs to be fired
2.4 | cute space, mediocre coffee; and tasty pastry but sadly when I went back the next day to grab another tahini chocolate chip cookie, I saw a nat flying around inside. I think the barista noticed but it might be common. anyhow, this spot will likely continue to thrive because of its location. it doesn't have to try that hard to be successful. I would say for the coffee purists out there, make the fifteen minute walk down to La Cabra. one of the best coffee shops I've been to. they also do their own roasting and their pastries are divine.
Nice atmosphere but terrible coffee. Beans were burnt and sour, milk was burnt from letting it rip with the steam wand. Legitimately threw it in the bin and went to buy another coffee down the street
