Really good simple no frills sushi!! Sashimi and platter for two was spot on
everything was amazing, the honey wasabi sauce is too good I want it on everything now
Great take out. Late Sunday night to a hotel, still delivered. Thank you!
Great - super fast delivery, delicious and good prices.
Great lunch specials. The sushi is delicious.
Good food . LOVE THE SUSHI . DeIious .HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Very clean place as well . Service is great. Everyone is very nice . Love it.😄😄😍👍👍
Good lunch special. The miso soup tasted very good, not like some other restaurants taste like pure water.
Love this spot, sushi always tastes very fresh and customer service is top notch
Best take out sushi I have come across in nyc. Always fresh and delivery is always on time.
Always a pleasure eating there. Intimate, quiet, clean great food. Excellent service.
Great sushi for a good price
Good sushi for dine in or delivery. Casual and cute spot very reasonably priced.
Quick, attentive, and the sushi I have had here a few times is great.
Coziest little place, great tasting Sushi can't ask for more.
Delicious food. Can recommend strongly. More than fair pricing.
if you in the area and want a great meal. look no further. great food and service
Super good resturant. Delicious and fresh food.i would recommend all of my friends there
This is our go-to place in the neighborhood. Consistently good food and nice service, reasonably priced.
Good lunch spot. Decent service. Authintic typos on the menu!
Very good sushi in a pleasant atmosphere. Attentive service.
Love this place food is always so delicious and fresh! I love it!
Great food and good service. Space is limited so get there early.
This is my go to lunch spot for sushi. Mostly since it’s close to work but I also think it’s good value. $15 for 3 large rolls and some warm miso soup is good enough for me! I’m not a sushi expert so I can’t comment on the fish quality too much - but for an average person craving some inexpensive sushi this place should hit most of the check marks.
Delicious, fresh food, great service and so attentive. Ordered various appetizers including shrimp gyoza, edamame, salad. All delicious and the oranges at the end were such a nice addition. Will definitely be coming back.
My favorite sushi place in the neighborhood! Used to come here to dine in before the pandemic a lot. Now they do only deliveries and pick up. The food is great and the prices too.
Very good sushi and the staff is very respectful. Also very close to numerous bars and locals where you can go after dinner
This is my favorite sushi take out place in the area. The fish to rice ratio is always on point, as they don't skimp out on the good stuff. The fish is always fresh and delicious, too!
This is the best neighborhood sushi place I have found thus far in the city. It happens to be a block away from my apartment, but I have tried small sushi restaurants all over the place. Their fish is fresh and higher qualtiy than most. They also have a great sushi/sashimi combo for two that includes special rolls and naruto rolls. If you are looking for a neighborhood gem, this is the place to go!
Great, reliable, small Japanese place that my coworkers and I return to time and time again to enjoy! Price is good, staff is friendly and cooperative. Even picking up food from this place makes me wish I spent more time there.
Food was great. the place can get a little crowded sometimes. But that is no downfall. The service is fast and you can also order pick up. Great staff too.
Very fresh fish and good quality food. The service is efficient the place is busy. It’s very small but cozy. They have take-away and delivery.
Honestly, great price takeout sushi ..not like top of the line morimoto but exactly what you need and good rolls too! They make the food well and it's not overpriced
I’ve been going to this place for 7 years. You DEFINITELY get your money’s worth with the lunch special bento box. Choice of meat, with rice, California roll, spring roll, fruit, salad and miso soup.
The food was amazing at Maguro! It's a small place, but cozy. The service was attentive, clean, and responsive. This might become my go to, whenever I'm in the area.
Best sushi spot in Murray Hill. They'll occasionally give you some free apps and an orange to finish the meal. Really great prices as well.
Lunch bento box is one of the best deals in NYC
Good sushi!! my first visit here!
When I tell you this was literally the best sushi I have ever had in my life, and for the price it’s even better. Staff were so sweet, super clean place, wish I lived in New York so I could eat here everyday.
The sushi was DELICIOUS! The service was so fast - it is take-out only right now. I got spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll & edamame and it was ready in 10 minutes. The prices are very reasonable. The sushi was so fresh and had a great taste. Will definitely be ordering from here again!
We popped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the food was quick and delicious. Lunch specials are the way to go! We especially loved the Udon.
This was exactly the kind of local sushi place I was looking for. Food was solid nothing fancy, but that’s what made it great. Solid food and solid service
10/10!! This food is incredible! Very fresh and tastes incredible. My new go-to. Extremely well packed, quick and prompt delivery, very sweet staff. This place is a must try!!! I’m so excited to become a loyal. Huge fan. Always love a friendly staff.
The service is fast, courteous, and professional. Sushi rolls are always fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner.
Salmon teriyaki lunch box was really delicious! I'm surprised with the quality of fish, it's super fresh! Would definitely order more and more. Prices are good as well! Good job guys! Thanks
Ordered for delivery through DoorDash. Have always been a bit skeptical about sushi from Murray Hill… haven’t had good experiences in the past. Maguro totally changes that. Fairly priced, high quality fish. And delivery was fast. I had tuna, salmon and yellow tail nigiri and a tuna roll. All of the fish was at a proper temperature, great cuts, and delicious. Rice was also well flavored and a good level of sticky. I also got an order of pork gyoza. Equally delicious and of high quality. A nice touch was sliced pineapple as a mini after meal dessert.
Don't let the small interior deter you, this place has really great food. The eel avocado roll is the best I have ever tasted and I have eaten a lot of sushi! The service is quick and they always refill your tea.
A $40 sushi roll lunch for two including desert on a Sunday: that's fantastic! The restaurant was not crowded but the sushi chefs were busy preparing for the night's dinner crowd. The salmon looked incredibly fresh. I ordered three rolls tuna, salmon, whitefish. The miso soup was delicious and if I could read tea leaves I think that I would have been able to predict the future with great accuracy because the miso soup was a universe unto itself: mesmerizing. The sushi roll we're freshly prepared and it seemed like the fish was just delivered. If this place had an all you can eat sushi option I would be a regular! Now usually, at other restaurants, the tempura ice cream deserts are premade and taste stale. But here, they deep fried the tempura by order! Best tempura friend ice cream I've had in years. the restaurant is clean. The bathrooms we're immaculate. The service was prompt, not overly attentive and with a smile. Excellent 👍
The BEST QUALITY sushi you can get in NYC. I’ve been so many sushi restaurant but this place is so fresh and tasty. If they offer delivery to your address you’re in luck. They have an amazing lunch special
I ordered their lunch menu and their sushi and sashimi for 2 at dinner time often because it is a great deal for the quality. The staff is always extremely kind, accommodating, and efficient. I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable Japanese meal.
I order here a lot, I live down the street and it’s mt go to. The sushi is fresh and the staff is so nice.
My go-to sushi takeout spot. Fish is always fresh and the rolls have the perfect rice to fish ratio!
Excellent, affordable sushi in a cozy environment. The service at Maguro is always top notch and efficient, whether dining in or taking out. This has been my go-to neighborhood sushi spot for years! Never had a bad meal here. And, the lunch specials are a fantastic value.
We placed a delivery order via Grubhub for about 10 people (around an hour in advance of when we were scheduled for lunch). The delivery took just shy of an hour, which is great timing as we did place it a bit later than intended (around 11:38am, which is when the lunch orders/crowd start to build up). So - we REALLY appreciated how efficient the restaurant ran the delivery! We also really appreciated how they took care to read and follow our notes asking to label the lunches (each person who submitted an order through the Grubhub group order link asked to "please label for [name]" under "Special Instructions"). Not only were they labeled, but they went the extra step to individually package the lunches! This saved us SO much time when it comes to sorting who got what. As you can see, to do all of these things, you must be an establishment that is lead and is staffed with people who care about what they do and care about the customer experience. Everyone has positive feedback on the food, in fact, we were all surprised by the prices for the amount of food and for the variety of lunch combos. Thank you Maguro!
Incredible quality sushi at ANY price. The rolls had Iots of fish with a thin layer of rice. Ver fresh. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Lunch special $17.95 for 3 rolls was more than I could finish. I asked the chef if I could take the photo and the waitress has to translate… he only spoke Japanese!
My favorite sushi spot near work. I literally order at least once a week. Their rolls are always fresh and they don’t skimp on the fish! They also have great lunch special deals. I’ve tried a lot of their bentos and it comes with sooo much food! Overall everything is really tasty and fresh, delivery is fast too.
UPDATE: Have now ordered many times and fish is consistently fresh. Seems the time it wasn’t was more of a one-off. Upgraded to 5 stars. Ordered takeout twice, same 3 roll menu. First time on Thursday it was amazingly fresh fish and perfectly executed and tasty rice. Second time on Saturday the rice was nice but the fish not so fresh. Still decent value for money for NY.
A very decent place to have sushi with inexpensive price in the city. I keep coming back here for their rolls and lunch special in general. The place is rather small with only a few tables, but I did not have to wait much if I happened to arrive at a busy time. The portion of their lunch is huge, especially when you order bento, rice, or noodles. My friend and I have tried almost half of all the items in lunch menu and most tasted great as expected.
Great food for the money you pay. Low key dinner place,
Simple, decent Japanese food. Helpful, friendly service
loo was nice. sushi was okay, quite pricey for what u get and some of them fell apart when lifting. only doing takeout i think
Consistently good sushi and speedy delivery. Speedy like comes 20 mins earlier than they set expectations. Go to in the neighborhood.
The food is consistently good. The sushi & rolls are always fresh and the beef teriyaki is very good.
Fast service, great food, huge portions, not esp friendly but not rude either. I would recommend.
Great non-authentic (I think) sushi spot. Small, simple place. The fish was very fresh and the portions quite generous. Overall good value. I'll be back if I get a chance.
Well priced takeout joint, I order their lunch specials pretty frequently. Usually very accommodating and efficient delivery. The shiitake mushroom handrolls are great!
Small place, simple & good sushi!! Fresh fish, nicely presented, tight as it should be. Nice people, as well as the service, although they seemed to be in a hurry...
Cute little place with amazing sushi. Fresh and delicious, nice selection of rolls with great sashimi. Service is a little quiet, but attentive and prompt.
Very good sushi, I've eaten lunch here on average once per week for the last few years. Very consistent quality, very good prices, good service.
Very small venue. The service was speedy and consistent. Very happy with how the staff treated us from start of the meal to the end. One small detail that I hope does not happen often. During my meal there was continuous banging behind the sushi bar. If food was needed to be prepared like that I would hope it would be done inside the kitchen. It was very disturbing to hear this during a meal. But overall great place for sushi.
Now that they've closed East, this is my regular sushi place. There are precisely zero surprises here. It's sushi. It gets a little crowded, but service is pretty attentive. At the end of the meal, you get a precut orange and some toothpicks, which is cool. I wish they had karaoke, but I guess if they did I'd never get a seat.
Great sushi for an affordable price! And the service is always quick and reliable :) This is a go-to sushi spot for us. The dragon roll and futomaki is great, and their udon is just right! Their veggie gyoza is also really good. And they usually bring out sliced oranges for dessert, which is a nice plus!
Sushi is ok fresh, but selection of fish in their platters is very limited
Generally pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the quality is not bad. Good value for the area.
Came here for lunch a few times from work so far. Small space, but friendly and pretty fast waitstaff. Food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. Got the chicken udon noodle soup once ($8), and the sushi special ($10ish) another time. Udon soup was pretty good: vegetables and noodles tasted pretty fresh, and the soup tasted light and healthy, which was nice for a change from the usual really salty and thicker broths that some places have. The sushi was fantastic there though. The fish tasted pretty fresh, good flavor to them, and a decent amount of fish served per piece compared to the rice. Definitely looking to come back and try more of their stuff!
It’s cheap sushi that isn’t really that cheap. Miso soup was not great either. Katsu Don was okay but definitely not cooked to order.
It was okay. Not bad but didn't blow my mind. $16 for one regular roll and salmon skin salad is a bit pricey to me.
For a quick lunchtime roll or two it's fine, but I was disappointed in the sushi I got during the one time I went there for dinner service. Sake was pretty good though.
I'd love to give it 3.5 stars but for overall value, my rating feels fit. Ordered the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and sweet potato tempura rolls (lunch special, $16) and the pork gyoza ($8). The sushi itself was tasty enough, particularly the spicy salmon. But the spicy tuna was really lacking and the sweet potato roll was missing the iconic sweet drizzle found at other sushi joints (it left the roll rather dry). The gyoza is very good, super flavorful and tender. I would have loved to see some chili oil in the bag alongside it, tho. Overall, for $20+, you can probably have a better sushi experience in Gramercy/ Flatiron/ Midtown. For a quick lunch it's not and at all. But I probably won't be rolling back into Maguro again.
Terrible service and mediocre sushi. The miso soup was ok though.
Inexpensive lunches but there are many tastier options around the neighbourhood at around the same price point.
The food was tasty but I feel like robots could provided greater customer service.
This sushi spot is 'okay' , I did not like the service at all. I simply asked for less salmon in the salmon/avocado roll, the guy even rolled his eye at me. He claimed they can't do that, the salmon amount is already cut down for the roll. Will try to go to other spots around , I do not recommend this one.
Usually have had decent experiences with this place but tonight the shaved radish was spoiled / smelled and tasted really sour / rancid
Delivery driver was extremely rude and fish was definitely not fresh. Would not recommend anyone order with positive expectations.
They sold me bad sushi. The fish was spoiled. AVOID this place.
Please don't order from here if you want to have a functioning bowel system for the next couple days. As soon as you open the take out box for sashimi you will get a waft of sour fish. I'm almost certain that they reserve the unsold fish from previous days for takeout orders. Pick somewhere else.
Just had a very disappointing lunch order. Got the three roll Maki and it was all bad. The eel avocado roll contained almost no eel and was mostly just compromised of an overabundance of eel sauce. The tuna in the tuna avocado roll was chewy and hard and the spicy tuna roll lacked much taste. Had much higher hopes for this place.
