Maman is the kind of place that feels like a warm hug wrapped in a French café. We stopped in for breakfast and tried the Smashed Avocado Tartine and Papa’s Breakfast Bowl—both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully plated. The tartine was vibrant and satisfying, and Papa’s Bowl was hearty and comforting, the perfect way to start a day of city exploring. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. The café itself is as lovely as the food—charming, peaceful, and full of rustic, homey details that make you want to stay a little longer. Service was friendly and laid-back, adding to the relaxed vibe. If you’re looking for a spot with fantastic breakfast options and a touch of Parisian charm, Maman is the place.

Absolutely loved my visit to Maman! I tried the iced latte, the pistachio chocolate croissant and the mango and passion fruit bun, and they were exceptional. The latte was smooth and perfectly balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet, and the croissant was flaky, rich, and packed with flavor. The pistachio and chocolate combo was a total win. The ambiance is cozy and charming, with beautiful French café vibes that make you want to stay a while. Can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!

I think the setup of the Togo order line versus dine in was a bit confusing upon arrival. One of the workers had to clarify. The freshly baked goods in the window are not included on the dining in menu. Great ambience with a store connected through the backend. Bathroom was very clean and nice. Great pastries, I will definitely go again :)

We discovered a fantastic breakfast spot that totally hit the mark for us! The vanilla cappuccino was simply amazing—it really set the tone for the meal. We also tried their breakfast sandwich, which had egg, bacon, roasted tomatoes, and grilled chicken, and it did not disappoint. The vibe of the place was great, the service was top-notch, and everything we ordered was just perfect. I'm giving this place a solid 5 stars and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast!

Nice place to have some food, coffee, beer, or wine. The pastries are beautifully prepared. They sell nice gift boxes that can be filled with coffee or pastries that make a great gift. There's a garden in the back of shop with plenty of tables.

I looove Maman! I’ve been to a few of their NY spots now and every time feels like a little escape. The decor has that rustic French charm with exposed brick and whitewashed walls, vines draped around the windows, and a mix of farmhouse tables for groups and cozy bistro tables for catch-ups. Their coffee, pastries, and sandwiches always hit the spot. Pro tip: don’t plan to bring your laptop here. I showed up ready to get some work done only to realize they’re proudly a no-WiFi, no-laptop zone. At first I was caught off guard, but it does fit the vibe, this is a place for slowing down, chatting, or just soaking in the atmosphere. Overall, it feels like stepping into a Parisian countryside kitchen magically tucked into the middle of NYC. Always a treat and always worth a stop.

I stepped in because it looked charming, though the service didn’t appear particularly attentive. I did, however, appreciate the French-style interior and overall atmosphere. As someone who isn’t especially fond of desserts, I can’t judge the flavours definitively, but they seemed fairly ordinary, and the café lacked any distinct or trendy features. It felt somewhat reminiscent of a concept like Le Pain Quotidien.

Maman is a beautiful café and the food is generally excellent, which makes my recent catering experience especially disappointing. I ordered a Bundt cake intended to present to my family, and part of the reason for the purchase was Maman’s beautiful branding and presentation. Instead, the $80+ cake arrived in a plain, unbranded cardboard box inside an oversized plastic bag that could have fit ten Bundt cakes, completely undermining the thoughtful, premium presentation I expected. I could have gotten a better cake at a supermarket for under $20. To make matters worse, the frosting had disintegrated into sugar grains, leaving a gritty texture instead of the smooth icing of the slices I have enjoyed in the past. Maman recently posted images of its pie giveaway on social media. Those pies were beautifully packaged in branded boxes with elegant ribbons. When I reached out to inquire about the discrepancy, they acknowledged that the beautiful packaging was part of a marketing campaign. It is very disappointing to see such a stark gap between their marketing and what paying customers actually receive. I reached out to both the catering team and the general customer service email, but the issue remains unresolved. The responses I did receive felt dismissive rather than helpful, which speaks volumes about the importance they place on the customer experience. Given the price and the reputation of Maman, this experience was surprising and disheartening. I would advise caution when ordering catering until these quality, presentation, and customer service issues are addressed.
