This place has such a great vibe. Had pre dinner drinks in their “vinyl room”. Tunes out they have a 9pm-11pm happy hour in their vinyl listening lounge. The cocktail crowd quickly turned to into a great energetic vibe once the vinyl DJ started playing. Would highly recommend for a night out at an intimate spot with a great & fun vibe.

I hosted a private event in this venue and resulted to be one of the best ones I have ever planned. Vibes were fantastic!! There was nothing but great music, great food and great drinks. The venue is insane and has 2 rooms, which allowed guests to change atmospheres from partying (club room) to have a nice conversation (vinyl room) if they wanted too. MFAW's team was the best thing out of the planning, everyone was so nice and so great to work with. Definitely would consider redoing another event with them in the future once more.

But what truly made my night were the drinks—absolutely incredible! The cocktails were perfectly balanced, creative, and so refreshing. A huge shoutout to Ruben, the bartender, who not only crafted the best drinks but also made the whole experience fun and engaging. His attention to detail, skill, and great personality really stood out. If you’re looking for top-notch drinks and an amazing time, this is the place to be!

This place is amazing! It’s not crazy expensive for the city, It has 2 rooms with the different vibes for everyone’s taste, one is an underground night club with house, techno and different hot electronic music, the second room is carpeted listening room/lounge with amazing sound system and vynil djs! I have attended several bday party’s here and they always get crazy good, not to mention they have the sexiest bartender in nyc, Shout out to Ruben he makes the best cocktails!

Have been to Virgo and Make Believe many times now and have always had the best nights with the kindest, most welcoming staff! Thatcher is a one of a kind nightlife innovator and visionary, and he and his crew sure know how to create a very relaxed atmosphere where the focus is on music and connection, which is unlike many other night clubs in NYC. Ray, Saxton and Sabi were among the many wonderful staff working that evening, who helped make my brother’s birthday night such an amazing success. My friends and I will definitely be back many more times to come and always look forward to when Thatcher and his crew open up more venues on the city! Thank you again for all your incredible hospitality :)

This space is really cool not only because it’s a bar at a hotel, but also because the sound in the room was so impressive! Had there been just a few more people when I went, if say it was the perfect night out.

Note: This is a review for hosting a private event. Not attending a weekend show. I was introduced to MFAW after seeing a friend DJ there, and had a great night with zero issue. There is a lot to appreciate about planning a private party at MFAW. Great location, beautiful aesthetics, and quality sound. However, there are also some things that can definitely be improved. Namely, their sound system set up (particularly in the vinyl room). We were not allowed to hire a DJ unless they used classic turntables due to CDJs somehow messing up their sound system. We ended up using a Spotify playlist, which worked great, except you couldn't manually control the volume (would have to text a manager to raise/lower throughout the night as needed). It worked out, but was cumbersome. That's a good word for the experience planning the event -- cumbersome. The staff is nice and can be accommodating, but there was just a lot of unnecessary friction or arbitrary rules in the whole process. Beyond that, little things just gave a slightly off-putting vibe. Like renting the space 8-10:30pm instead of 8-11pm. It's only 30 minutes, but makes a huge difference to the people experiencing the event. I think this place has a lot of promise and potential, and overall the night was a success. But they need to think beyond just having a cool looking/great sounding space. They need to consider the holistic experience a bit more. For its current price point, I don't think I'd recommend.

I didn’t really like the vibes inside. The music was not good. The two separate room situation seemed very weird, not a big fan of it. The staff were nice though, which I appreciate.
