Great place for bagels, eggs, omelets, they make everything. Always a line, but service is fast. Just a few tables and a counter. Most people take out. All NYU hospital eats here as do all the constitution workers in the area. You won't be disappointed.

New England Clam Chowder. ..DO IT!! This place is right by my job. Its my go to spot for breakfast and lunch. They have a wide variety of food choices and everything tastes delicious that I have had thus far. Im totally addicted to their soups though. There's always a daily choice of about 6 different soups, which change on a regular basis. My personal fav is the New England Clam Chower, Sweet Corn Chowder and the Cream of Chicken soup. But they are all warm goodness in your tummy and you cant go wrong with any choice. During breakfast & lunch hours when it's at its busiest I have never had to wait a long time for my food or to pay for my items. The cooks and cashiers are fast and friendly.

Best local deli for an OG no-frills breakfast bagels in the MH area. You'll never see a line going out the door here (i.e. Ess-A-bagel), but it's busy enough to guarantee a fresh coffee & bagels < 24hr old.

This place is the BEST place for Bagels in NYC! Not only are they delicious (and made right on premises) but the also have soup, salads, sandwiches which are also deeelish. Very reasonable prices. I get bagels from there every morning and the bagels taste fresh and good. The employees there work very fast and hard making the bagels. Best bagel shop in the Kips Bay/Murray Hill neighborhood. The bagels are incredible and the amount of cream cheese they put on your bagel is INSANE. It’s amazing. If you don’t like a lot of cream cheese, you should tell them, because they are very generous with the spread. It’s no extravagant bagel sandwich place like Zucker’s, but they do have a full sandwich menu - and it’s so much more affordable. Skip the line by calling in your bagel on the phone, and it will be ready within 10 mins from when you hang up. Super nice and friendly team that works there and the space always seems very clean. I literally go here every Saturday. The best!!!!

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon after arriving in the city. The place was packed but the line moved quickly. We had a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Delicious! There a few tables for both sitting and standing, which we were able to grab when another couple left but it seems like most people take it to go or eat right outside standing on the sidewalk. Would definitely go back and try one of the signature sandwiches!

I love the friendliness of the staff. The shop owner's motto for bagels seems like the highest quality ones and plenty of toppings. Quick response to customer complaints is also a strength of this store. I love this shop.

Owner is a great guy who loves what he does. I came here 21 years ago because my son was in the hospital. He prayed for my son every time we went there. 21 years later my mother is in the same hospital. We decided to get breakfast he remembered my wife and I and my son. This man must see hundreds of people a day but he remembered us.

I love this bagel shop so much! The food is always great and there are a ton of different delicious options for bagels, spreads, sandwiches, and more. My go to order is their egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and a hash brown! Delish! But the best part about this place is the staff. They are always so kind and happy which is rare these days. Sometimes they will give me a banana if the wait for the bagel takes a little longer than normal, and one time they gave me a huge chocolate muffin for helping out another customer in the store. So sweet and unexpected. They have a loyal customer in me!! Love this place

This is my favorite part of the neighborhood- everyone who works here is so joyful and efficient. The food is delicious (I have tried more than just the bagels, the muffins are quite spectacular). I will continue to choose this shop throughout my time here.

This place kept me alive while my friend was in the hospital. They have $11 chicken and steak burrito bowls with guac and it’s actually really great. They have 4 flavors of gluten free bagels, including cinnamon raisin!! They have salads, quesadillas, sandwiches, tacos, muffins, and lots of snacks. The one thing is… the gluten free bagels are frozen. When they toast it twice it’s good. When they microwave it it’s BAD. Pls pls toast it twice lol… stop microwaving.

Su is the owner of NY Bagels & Cafe. He is such a humble man and and amazing human being. He's one of the nicest, most caring people you'll ever meet, and the quality of the food and the service of the staff portray that as well. They keep a nice, clean, well organized shop that sits directly across from the NYU Kimmel Pavilion. I was a transplant recipient at NYU Langone over the summer, so this is how myself and my family came to know Su. The bagels at NYBC are fresh and the food is absolutely amazing. I've had the pleasure of picking up from there a few times (brunch, lunch, and dinner) and it has not once disappointed. The bagel sandwiches are huge, flavorful, and just hit the spot every time. The first time I ordered one of their rice bowls, I spent the entire day eating it. And don't skimp out on the soup. The Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup is as hot as it's advertised to be. I sweat profusely every single time I eat it (and I LOVE spicy food). Next time you're in Midtown by the East River, I highly recommend stopping in to say "Hi." You can even tell him that I sent you. I love a good lox and a schmear. I've ordered it at bagel shops all around the city. Paid a lot of money for some of them too. But none of them come close to the one I got at this bagel shop today. Best ever!! Heaped high with fresh tasty nova lox, fluffy fresh sesame bagel toasted with just the right amount of crunch, crisp fresh veggies, perfectly soft creamcheese, and big juicy capers. I was so looking for a breakfast place to meet a friend that was coming from out of town. I did my homework looking around for breakfast places on Yelp and made my decision picking this place. In my opinion, I made a great decision! I swear that I just had best and tastiest bagel egg and cheese with sausage I have ever eaten in my life. It was that good. They also have many, many other menu items to choose from. I simply cannot wait to come back and try some of their other selections. The staff could be a little friendlier and smile more but nevertheless I had a very satisfying breakfast. This place is out of my way to go to work but now from time to time, I will make it a point to leave for work earlier so I can grab a bite from here. Oh BTW, the coffee ain't too shabby either. :)

Solid place for a quick bagel or breakfast sandwich. Always clean, friendly and fast. Only reason I took a star off was the Tofu cream cheese. The menu lists both Veggie and Scallion CC but the result is a bunch of raw diced veggies put right on top of the plain tofu CC. Totally understand the desire to provide additional offerings, but I'm not sure this qualifies as Veggie Tofu cream cheese. Will be going back, just not for the tofu CC.

Mr, John and the crew are always pleasant to see in the morning when purchasing breakfast/lunch. I love their bagels...made on the premises. The prices are alittle more than average but its because portions are huge. They have a variety of bagels/cream cheeses and pretty much any salad/sandwich you could think of. If they don't have it they will make whatever you want and possibly feature it for the week.

Wish I could give this place 5 stars because it deserves it. Clean, great staff (yes we tipped cash) great bagels, generous sandwich meat, which is important to me. A real ny bagel sandwich! Only thing- expensive. $40 for two bagel sandwiches, one large water, one coffee and one (not fresh) juice. W😶W

New, clean bagel spot opposite NYU medical center. Their bagels, unlike a typical deli’s, are bigger and tastier and come with creamier cheese.

It opens early. Staff is nice. A tad expensive when it comes to a bacon egg and cheese sandwich but that’s on par for the location. Wish it closed a little later but overall a good place.

I was absolutely starving walking from a meeting and decided to pop into this Café for a bagel. Whenever I visit NYC, I have to get a bacon or sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. It's a must! I asked the server for the menu and made my selection. I opted to add lettuce and tomato to my bagel as well as cheese. I should have asked them to salt and pepper the eggs as they were bland and also add ketchup as I had to add in myself, which was a little messy. The bagel was fresh and huge! I saved half of it for later. I would definitely go back here. There are so many options for toppings, and they are generous helpings! There were also freshly made muffins that looked moist and delicious! The price is steep for Orange Juice also, but it's worth a treat.

I was in the area so I passed by this bagel spot in the morning and decided to give it a try. Was feeling like an omelette kind of day so I ordered the Western Style Omelette with peppers, cheese, and potatoes. The food was made quick and hot. It tasted great though I did have better. Prices are great and the inside is big enough to sit down and enjoy your food. The interior is not much but you are here for the food not the looks. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they have a variety of food, ranging from bagels to salads to soups. Definitely stopping by again when I pass this place next time!

Lol so I order an oatmeal, with cinnamon, sugar and bananas. As I was paying, I expressed how Im not really seeing much bananas in my meal. And that how come I can have the rest of the banana on the side. The cashier replies, that its .25 cents for a small piece of the banana, and that the whole banana is .75 cents. Now, after paying almost 5.50$ for my oatmeal, why can't i have the rest of the banana? Am I getting a piece of banana from 1 that's already been used & sitting there? Lol im sry but am I bugging or should we, the customer just get the rest of the banana on the side? (Is not that serious tho, I just had to ask) Update: oatmeal was cold! Smh

Ordered a sandwich for my boss who’s a Chair for NYU. I specifically asked for a toasted plain bagel lox tomato and capers no cheese. I got a plain cold bagel with cream cheese and tomato and capers. I called to let them know they messed up and I need the correct order she states they don’t have delivery service. I walk back the 10 blocks to pick Up the order and not only did they not apologize for screwing up the order, she goes ahead and states that I’m suppose to check the receipt?! No I speak well English I KNOW WHAT I ORDERED. The nerve NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, rude arrogant and naive. Won’t go there again nor will any chair board member.

I used to have good bagels there, but the quality isn’t the same My orders are always wrong, and they were charging for the toppings, after the tenth wrong I order, I decided to ask for a refund, they said that they had “refunded” me , but I never had my money back !!! When I called asking about the refund ,the manager was very rude and asked me to don’t go to the store anymore, as if I had done something wrong !

They literally get the order wrong every time I order from there. And their online pickup service through doordash doesn’t allow me to request any sort of refund.

The bagel was decent, but I can’t say the same about the cashier. I paid for my bagel (which costed 5,50$) with 50$ bill, but the cashier gave me only 14,50$ change. I immediatly realised about this mistake and I told to the cashier that i paid with 50$, but she said I paid with 20$, so word against word. Watch your money guys.

I tried to order online and it processed the order then told me to call the store because you can’t order online. I looked at my account and they charged for 3 orders over 100$ then told me that they can’t reimburse because DoorDash made their website and to take it up with them.

I ordered bagels for pickup — Upon my arrival, I was told that the bagels I ordered were no longer available, so I asked them to cancel/refund my DoorDash order. After much hesitation, they eventually “refunded” me and told me that the refund will show up later today. When I got home, I was notified that they marked my pickup as “complete” and collected the full payment instead.

I ordered a sandwich and he used the same spatula for that he used to cook the eggs to make my sandwich and when i spoke to jim about it, he got upset. I don't eat eggs and could've had an allergy to eggs. They need to be mi dful how they cook customers food. The worst part is that he remade my food and he poured a lot of spicy sauce on my food

This place ALWAYS takes forever to deliver & when your food finally does arrive it is cold and always wrong!! i cant believe they are still in business!! they have the creepiest delivery guys and no one speaks English. i order double toasted corn muffins and they always deliver them cold and raw. i now ask them to burn my muffin and they're STILL cold and raw. i'm done. i wanted to give them zero stars but that wasn't an option. It’s a one and done for me. This place is overpriced! I paid $8 for a turkey and egg on a roll, with no cheese or anything to drink. Around the corner at NY Grill & Deli, I get that plus a Brisk iced tea for under $7. On top of that, the wait for the sandwich is longer than usual. Never again!

This place is beyond overrated. Would rather eat frozen store bought bagels. Asked for vegetable cream cheese on the side and they just threw wet peppers on top of cream cheese. If you like warm soggy salads from your local pizzeria than you’re gonna love everything at NY bagels & cafe.

Literally the worst customer experience I’ve ever had in a bagel shop. Made me wait over 30 minutes for 2 bagels, horrible excuses about online order priority. Coffee cold by the time I left. Tried to get credit since I was late. Called to get it delivered, owner refused..called to get credit they said it would take 1 hour. Poorly managed.

When I’m paying $12 for a bagel with lox spread and avocado I expect to taste the flavor of lox. The amount of lox spread was barely visible inside the bagel, I could hardly get the taste of the cream cheese inside. Please come to Goldbergs bagels in the Hamptons and try how their lox spread should really taste and check the amount of spread they put in the bagel. Never coming back to this place👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

we have been customers here. for at least 15 years. The new ownership however not only raised the prices considerably, but it is seriously lacking the quality of bagels...we wonder, do they still bake them there? Also, the quality of tuna salad, and pick up /take out orders are often wrong We miss the old place and the old management ! It was a lot more delicious and efficient!

I went to this restaurant based off of the reviews online, it seemed like a good idea; however I was proven very wrong. Upon arrival I was told by a worker that the grill was being cleaned, I responded no problem! To a look of disgust she told me it would be 10 minutes. Me and my wife waited in our car for about 15 minutes until I came in to see multiple staff on their phone and the grill still not finished being cleaned, my order not even started. This would have been acceptable if I had come in early or late, however it was 1:50pm on a Monday. It is safe to say I will never give my business to this restaurant.

I’ve been a customer for years. NY Bagel was hands down the best bagel in NYC. What happened? It become popular and the service, food quality, and order time became unbearable. Now they just mess every order and sell overpriced avocado for $3.25 to give you the minimum amount of avocado they can imagine. Imagine paying ~$12 for a bagel, getting home to eat, and realize the order is all messed up with not being toasted and no avocado. NY Bagel was my go-to bagel until today. Now its just a distant dream
