Great entry level omakase experience. The place wasn't busy when we went. I reckon you usually don't have to fight to get a spot there. Not super filling if you are a male but you're fine if you grab a boba and snack after. Great service though! Chefs and staff were very friendly.

The sushi was very high quality! A very well priced 17 course omakase at $125. The most notable pieces were the sweet shrimp with lemon zest and the salmon with torched salted tomato. The latter was a perfect fusion of flavor and texture that is sure to impress even the most avid omakase customers. The service was also great. They were very patient with us. They mentioned they had reservations at 7 and needed the space by then, but welcomed us as walk ins at 5:45 and did not make us feel rushed when we all arrived started an omakase around 6 pm.

Excellent omakase spot! Great value for what you’re getting. We got the 17 course omakase with a bottle of sake and everything was great. Chef was friendly and even asked for mine and my wife’s tolerance for wasabi (in case we wanted less). Loved our experience.

Wowowow! Jeffrey was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible and the food was to die for 🥹♥️ they do not play when it comes to high quality and amazing dishes here. Will be back!

Had an absolutely lovely omakase experience here. Every bite was an incredible dive in Japanese fine dining. The sushi was fresh and innovative. It ranged from melt in your mouth goodness to refreshing and airy. The sake was top knotch and the service excellent. Really great intimate time. Would come again. Highly recommend!

Sushi Lin is an excellent Omakase! Unique and high quality. Chef Jerry provided great service.

This was the best omakase experience I’ve had. We opted for the 12-course menu, and every dish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We even ordered a few extra favorites: - Tuna with truffle - Fatty toro tuna + uni + caviar + gold flakes (my favorite) - Scallop We paired it with cloudy nigori sake. The cozy setting made it feel intimate and exclusive. Service was fantastic—the chef was warm, welcoming, and happy to chat. Highly recommend this spot for top-quality omakase at a great value. Can’t wait to return!

From the moment I sat down at the sushi bar, I knew that this was going to be a unique dining experience. The chef greeted me warmly and asked if I had any dietary restrictions or preferences. We had the 17-course option. Lin was our chef of the day. Each course was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The fish and other ingredients are very fresh. Lin explained all the dishes as he served it, providing insight into the ingredients, flavor and technique used in its preparation. One of my favorite course was the salmon sushi topped with tomato. The melt in your mouth and the flavor of it incorporate very well with the salmon. The service throughout the courses are outstanding! Overall, it’s one of the best dining experience I have ever had.

Overall very good experience. You taste the freshness in every piece, and there is great creativity in a couple of the pieces as well. The king salmon with tomato on top was an interesting idea and very delicious. The service is friendly, and is definitely on the faster end as they do more seatings, but for the number of nigiris you get with the price, there is great value. The quality of food here does not lose to some of the Michelin-started sushi places in the city. Will be back.

This was an amazing sushi experience. Is it hard to find great affordable omokase in the city. The atmosphere of the restaurant made you feel so relax. The sushi chef Lin was nice and explained to us the different kinds of fish. Came with my friend and we were both pleasantly enjoyed all the food. A must for any sushi lover who are looking for great sushi experience and great quality fish. We will try the 17 course omakese next time:)

Absolutely amazing experience at Sushi Lin. The sushi were outstanding, the atmosphere warm and cozy, and the personal touch from the chef was so unexpected and special. A favorite in the city and I’ll definitely be back!

Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was such a nice experience. We had the 17 course omakase and the sushi fish was super fresh and well paired with interesting flavors. Our favorite was the one with tomato (that looked like bacon)! It was also super nice to talk to the chefs — they were great and recommended some other omakase spots around the globe. Thank you Jerry and Jeffrey!

I agree with the great reviews here. I think that there are a lot of good sushi restaurants that have great fish and excellent materials. This one stood out because of the interesting combination of flavors that they used on each individual piece. We got the 12 piece Omakase. Some of our favorites were the Hamachi with Shishido on top, the the fatty tuna, they had a piece of sushi with a fried tomato on top that was interesting, and the scallop had zest on top which added a complexity that I enjoyed.

Such a great experience! This was genuinely some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. Fresh fish, beautiful combination of flavors and very nice service. I would definitely recommend this spot to others!!

Arrived on a Thursday evening for a birthday dinner. The service from the moment you enter to the second you leave was well thought out. The pieces that stood out to me the most were the uni, the toast with the caviar and tuna and the sweet shrimp. The chefs create a unique perspective of traditional omakase that adds their own twist and flavor to each bite sized sushi they put in front of you. It’s like sitting in the front row of NYFW, it keeps you on your toes! The pieces were on the smaller side, more rice or fish would both be appreciated. The service was very quick, but the chefs were able to execute efficiently.

I had nothing short of a phenomenal experience at Sushi Lin Soho. The mouthwatering ensemble of inspired dishes would leave you wondering which piece “exactly” is your favorite. High-quality sashimi and sea urchin, great vibe and affordable. Highly recommend!

Exceptional. That’s how breathless this place led me to be. They allowed me to plug in my phone and order at the bar… followed by that I met Morgan the bartender. She is kind and tender and highly knowledgeable. She knows how to strike up a conversation effortlessly and provide A1 service she is the main reason I am writing this review because of how I was treated. The restaurant is Chinese with fine cuisine and this is perfect for date night, happy hour and business dinner. It’s classy, intimate and neat. Thank you for your inviting service staff . Will be coming back.

The food here is absolutely amazing. We had multiple dumplings (veggie, chicken soup, and fried beef), the marinated cucumber, the steak fried rice, the brussel sprouts, and dessert, and everything was delicious. The dumplings were super flavorful and juicy. We also go the wine flight, and that was a delight. The wine list is super impressive.

Welcoming spot with great bar seating for multiple people or eating solo. Staff is welcoming and ask right away if you have allergies. They make suggestions and are attentive. The decor is festive with subtle music. Can hear yourself talk . Food is clean and fresh, .Vegetables are crisp, cooked oerfectly and main dish was very savory. The rice is perfectly cooked to compliment the dishes.Highly recommend for anyone needing a tasty meal and friendly environmentStop in!!!.

My friends and I wanted Asian food after a long day gallery hopping in Chelsea, we decided to come here. The wait was not long and we were helped by our waitress immediately! Our glass was never empty, ever. They were good at making us feel good! It was a fun way to end our night before another long day tomorrow!

Chinese in SOHO? Yes it works. Food was on point, we got the pork soup dumplings, green beans, steak fried rice, dan dan noodles and their Peking Duck!!! If you want the duck order early, it takes 45 min. But the duck was delicious and came with lots of meat and the crepes!!! Oh save room for dessert! Great for family, friends and dates.

We had a great experience dining at Pinch! The service was excellent - our server was incredibly attentive, without being too intrusive. They also are pretty knowledgeable about their vast wine list and recommended a great option for us. We ordered the Peking duck, fried rice, brussel sprouts and eggplant - everything tasted great. I really enjoyed the Peking duck service and the wait wasn't very long. Overall, I highly recommend it!

We found this restaurant on a whim after getting a massage in Chinatown and were craving Peking duck. The restaurant is super clean, great music, great vibes and the ambiance was so enjoyable. We had the green beans with Peking duck and vegetable dumplings, everything was perfectly seasoned, flavorful, delicious and great portions. My parents were visiting and this was a great spot to take them while they were in town. Above everything, the manager Jefferey went above and beyond to be super kind and warm and friendly and to make sure we had everything we needed. He is such a joy and asset to this space, as I noticed him engaging thoughtfully and intentionally with all of the tables and noticing little details. I find it hard nowadays to go out and have exceptional service especially during stressful holiday seasons there are a lot of moody staff or mistakes in the kitchen etc, but this meal, experience and vibe were such a breath of fresh air and cannot wait to be back and send friends and clients! Thank you for an amazing time and especially Jefferey for making sure we had a stellar night.

Will definitely be returning! Jack O was our server- very personable and guided us with some great selections! Went here for a date night and was not disappointed. Tried the pork soup dumplings, fried beef dumplings, pork ribs, Brussels sprouts, and wagyu fried rice. Dumplings were amazing and was thinking about them days after the visit. Pork truly did fall off the bone- these do have a dry rub on them vs a sauce. Brussels sprouts were fried perfectly- great flavor. The rice was probably our least favorite of the meal. Beef was great, but wanted more flavor in the rice. A chili oil would’ve been nice with that. Very full/lively- and tables are fairly close together in the small space so was quite loud at times.

We came here for dinner at 8:20pm after an evening event. Lucky us that somebody left as we walked in and we got a table. The host Jeffrey was extremely patient and warm. We ordered the Peking duck - they do require a 72 hours ahead notice but again, we were lucky to get the “additional” ones prepared. I am from Beijing, and I guarantee this is the best you can get in this region since Nine Cities was closed. We also ordered the cumin pork as an appetizer, and eggplants and green beans as vegetables. Everything was excellent. We finished all the food, even the spice left on the plate. We will definitely come back with an even larger group. By the way, if you want the duck bones to go, tell them when filling out the form via email ordering the duck.

Hip Chinese restaurant in SOHO. Would recommend trying the cumin pork ribs, Taiwanese beef noodle soup, pork soup dumplings and eggplant in garlic sauce. The pork ribs are tasty and crispy, and the meat slides off the bone so it wouldn't be too difficult to eat with chopsticks. The beef noodle soup is quite big and could be shared with another person. The soup dumplings are nice and and are served at the right temperature so as not to burn your tongue. The eggplant is a little sweet and would be a good match with some rice. The dishes are on the pricier side, but they are prepared quite well. The ambience is quite nice and well lit. It's a popular spot so it would be a good idea to make a reservation before visiting. The restrooms are very clean and they have an air purifier inside.

My husband and I visited Pinch Chinese in NYC yesterday. The restaurant atmosphere was wonderful for a nice dining out experience with someone special. We love Chinese food. This restaurant offers amazing high-end Chinese food. The ingredients are so fresh and the home-made sauces are so tasty. We had Crispy Pork Belly, Seared Octopus, Spicy Wontons, Crispy Lamb Shank, Steak Fried Rice, Pea Shoots, and Ma Po Tofu. Every dish is so delicious that we wish we had a bigger stomach lol. If we have to pick the top three dishes to recommend, we would highly recommend the Crispy Lamb Shank, Crispy Pork Belly, and Steak Fried Rice. We are certain that there are so many other dishes worthy a try on their menu. We will definitely come back again! Thank you so much for a wonderful night!

First time visiting this establishment. Extremely impressed with the decor and atmosphere, it also lives the neighborhood. The food was amazing. I've never had a soup dumpling before. What an amazing treat. The dumpling skin was fairly thin, and when you bite into it, this warm to hot exploration of soupy goodness fills your mouth. So good. All the other food was extremely good and would recommend as well. Brussel sprouts, string beans, chicken, all excellent.

Came here again for Christmas dinner and it was great overall. We always love coming here for their Peking duck and it’s consistently so good. The duck skin was super crispy, the quality of the meat was excellent, and it paired really well with the sides. The slices of pie were also chewy and served hot which made them really good. The duck was better than the beef short rib. The short rib tasted more like an American style short rib, which was not that good and outstanding. The scallop was very soft, and the sticky char siu pork rib was delicious. The desserts were a bit disappointing though. The red bean layer for redbean chocolate cake was so thin I could barely taste it and both the cake and pear cake were just okay, nothing special. Loved their veggies! Brussel sprouts and pea shoots were so good.

Peking duck was great also we had pork soup dumplings. Dan Dan noodles was a little bit spicy. For drinks we had jasmine flower tea.Side dish was marinated cucumber. The food was delicious but maybe it’s weekend the waiter was not patient with the service I guess…

Not the most authentic Chinese food to find in New York as the flavors and ingredients are adjusted to accommodate a more western taste. That said, the succinct menu is well curated and the dishes are fresh and well flavored, all prepared in an open kitchen where you could see the soup dumplings made fresh. The highlight was the fall of the bones cumin pork ribs. The interior and ambiance is pleasant and modern.

A good spot for big group dinners. Our favorites were their xiaolongbaos (super thin skin), spicy wontons, and cumin ribs. Basically all the appetizers were good but the mains we ordered were mediocre. Peking duck was $115, it was good but definitely pricey. The sand chicken was unfortunately very dry - the pieces with skin were good. Vegetables in general were decent but portions are small. Steak fried rice was more like steak over rice which was a little atypical and both the Dan Dan and duck ragu noodles were a little overcooked. We were not impressed.

R
RB

An okay-omakase experience for the price. Most of the pieces’ flavors are overshadowed by the sauce and I don’t really taste the fish themselves. The tomato, scallion and garlic in several pieces added interesting notes. They charge a processing fee for credit card transactions, so be prepared.

B
Brenna Snyder

The set was just mediocre. I have had much better omakase in the city at the same price point. The torched tomato course was the most special of them all. Decent experience but I was not overwhelmed by it. I likely will not return again.

My partner and I visited this restaurant for a date night on a Saturday. Making a reservation was easy, and the staff were very friendly. However, the space is quite small, so seating is limited. We were placed at the counter instead of a table, and given how close the seating is, chances are you’ll end up at the bar or counter as well. This wasn’t a huge issue for us, but it’s something to keep in mind. Now, onto the food—it was very average. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, and my partner had the chicken with white rice. Both dishes lacked flavor and tasted quite bland. I also ordered the dumplings, which were disappointing—the filling was tasteless, and the texture was slightly rubbery. The drinks were another letdown. Mine was overly watery and tasted more like juice than a well-balanced cocktail. I even had to send it back, but unfortunately, it wasn’t much better the second time. For the price, I expected much better quality. Speaking of pricing, the portions were on the smaller side, which I personally don’t mind, but some may find them too small for the cost. Given that it’s located in SoHo, the higher prices make sense, but the food simply didn’t justify them. Overall, I won’t be returning. The food was basic, the drinks were disappointing, and it just wasn’t worth it.

food: we got the 12 course omakase. our favorite was their signature piece (salmon tomato), so we ordered extra; but a different chef made it, and it wasn't as good (it was falling apart and there was a little bit of rice). this was our 2nd time at an omakase, so we're not too experienced. idt omakases are for us though... it's just not filling enough, and we're not as appreciative of sushi as we should be. service: staff was attentive, always refilling our water. they were able to accommodate us when we arrived earlier than our reservation since there was space. they also gave us a free slice of cheesecake for my early bday celebration (it was a bit frozen though)

Diana Ladavat

So disappointing. The food was so mediocre and the Peking duck took forever to come. I had already reserved a duck beforehand but after ordering food and confirming my reservation, it took around 45 minutes to come. Also, the service was fairly poor with servers being unresponsive and minding their own business instead of actually serving your needs.
