Avaliações de Port Sa'id New York
Went here with a friend on a Thursday night. The food was excellent and the vibes were immaculate. There’s Vinyl DJ spinning records at the perfect volume to enjoy your meal while also feeling like you’re in Tel Aviv. I highly recommend the branzino which gets lit on fire. Staff and management is incredibly accommodating should you need anything. One of my favorite hidden gems in New York!
The experience was absolutely fantastic! The food came out at a perfect pace, paired beautifully with some amazing cocktails. The quality of the ingredients really stood out - everything was balanced, flavorful, and cooked just right. The Denver steak was just a touch on the salty side, but still right at the upper edge of perfect. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish!
Omg!!! I was sooo surprised by this place! Not only the food was AMAZING, but the whole vibe of the place was great (and I went there on a Monday)! I just can’t get over their vegetables, specially their amazing salad with tahini and their cauliflower! Not to mention the lamb kebab! Honestly, everything was great, I don’t think you can go wrong. Btw, the bar/speakeasy they have next door is amazing. Overall, this place made me happy! Would come back so many times!
We had the most amazing time at Port Sa’id!!! We came for a bachelorette party and it brought the vibes from start to finish. We had an amazing table right by the DJ and our server Gavin and all the staff were just 10/10. The food was super tasty and large portions. Was an amazing night out!
One of the best Israeli foods I’ve ever had, and the chraime is out of this world. Everything is very creative and very flavorful in the best way possible, and hummus is really really smooth too. Vibes are impeccable. One time I came on a Friday and the DJ started playing nostalgic songs and got the whole restaurant to sing it was incredible. My happy place!
It was 9:45 pm, and the place was still packed. We grabbed a drink at the lively bar before being seated just in time. We ordered four vegetarian dishes and one meat dish to share. By the end of the meal, I was really full. I chose three dishes with cream, making my dinner overly rich. I regretted that decision. The leek was cooked in an interesting way. The "burning" potatoes dish wasn't particularly good. The breaded salad was tasty, and the red pepper and ricotta dish was good too, although it had a lot of ricotta. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meat dish.
Love this place! I’ve been a couple times. Not quite as good as their Tel Aviv location, but they retain the same kind of high quality food and good vibes. They have a different DJ every night and menu items change frequently. Good service. It’s a fun place to go with friends, but it is a bit loud inside.
Another amazing discovery, this time in Hudson Square. I went for brunch on Saturday, and to my great surprise, Port Sa’id ambiance at 1pm felt like a block party, even though on a weeknight the area is otherwise deserted. Definitely bring a group, split a bunch of things. Almost all of the dishes costs less than $20, cocktails are great so is their wine list! Exciting place!!
Amazing decor with a custom-made sound system and live DJ that sets a great vibe. The Middle Eastern sharing plates were very tasty: the beetroot carpaccio, bread salad, fresh tahini, and hummus were absolute highlights. However, the roasted sweet potato was a bit of a low light, and the meal overall lacked the final finesse for a full five stars. Still a great spot for a special night out with very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Cool dining experience. Thought there were some great dishes and some that were just exactly what you expect. I really liked the 4 spicy instruments, the bread salad, and the spicy moroccan chickpeas and chicken thighs. Got a few other dishes but they didn’t really stand out. Overall, great service and such a vibe place - it’s buzzing and it feels like a great place for friends and drinks. But at the same time the seatings a little crowded and for the price - the portions felt quite small.
This is popular spot for a lot of reasons. The space is beautiful, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is inventive, flavorful and well portioned. It would be a great spot for a large gathering or a small group but it may not be ideal for a group of 2. Could the fish be served to each guess thus enabling fewer bones and more fanfare? Yes that would have been nice. Could the steak have been served with a grander flourish accentuating the massive tomahawk bone and open flame? Yes indeed it could and it would not have been too much. Were the steak and fish well composed and delicious dishes? Yes they were! Incredibly good and very craveworthy. In fact the tomahawk was better than a similar one at a steakhouse on 36th and 6th. An amazing feat since Port Saiid is not a steakhouse. It may not be a great dinner date spot but it is a great place to gather with friends and share a great meal.
The food was delicious and interesting. The menu was fun to read. We enjoyed the whole Spanish sea bass drifting through an ocean of tomato and onion. The “ocean” was well spiced. The beetroot carpaccio tasted like sashimi, in a vegan way. It was very elegantly presented, reminding me rose petals and snow flakes. Minus one star because: 1. They changed the recipe for Holland Leeks - it was supposed to be caramelized with sage spicy pepper (which I was really looking forward and thought quick interesting), but it came out with a mountain of Parmesan cheese on top. I guess the cook confused this dish with the charred gem lettuce - it was a shame. 2. We ordered chicken liver, but it didn’t came out until we finished the meal and have asked for a few times. The restaurant didn’t charge us for this dish. I am glad that they at least did something to show their apology, great hospitality! I also liked that they print out the music/record of the night on the menu, very thoughtful!
Not sure I am 100% sold on this ultra-trendy place packed with Millennials. There definitely was a vibe between the DJ spinning, hustling servers, packed bar, crowded waiting area, open kitchen, crammed tables, etc. However, we could barely hear ourselves and have a proper conversation over the extremely loud music. My favorite part of the food was the presentation. It was so well thought out. We found the food to be either too salty, too buttery, too bland or over kill with tahini. We were a table of three and ordered based off the servers suggestions. Hummus Gargarim (standard), Leeks (bland), Lima Beans (mush), Pencil Asparagus (butter bath), Minute Plate (spicy), Chrime Branzino (actually liked this dish but neither of my friends cared for it). We were hoping to try the eggplant but they were out of it. The dishes are served as they are finished not together as a meal. Service was good except we had to keep asking for serving utensils. Surprised to receive the bill with a 20% gratuity already added since we were only 3 people. However they consider that a large party. Reservations are a must and time slot is not guaranteed. We waited an extra 20 minutes or so past our time. There were other tables who had to wait longer. I would give the place a second try for their Jazz brunch as long as the music is at a reasonable level. They have a side listening bar which is small, intimate and seriously a great vibe with stellar cocktails. That I would give 5 stars.
I wouldn't go back. The place is awesome and the plating is impressive, but the all the dishes we ordered had a few similar ingredients (parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, cream) and lacked a punch. The highlight was the bread salad, but nothing from the pictures here was on the menu anymore, which is fine, just don't expect to find what you see. The food came very fast but the waitress was unpleasant.
To call it Port Sa’id, a beautiful location in Egypt and then try to pass it off as authentic middle eastern, cuisine is a joke. Reading some reviews comparing to Hamido is blasphemous. Middle eastern cuisine combines foods and flavors from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria. This restaurant had none of that, reading the menu where one describes their summer in a certain location tells you all you need to know about this place. Food was sub par at best. For real middle eastern cuisine, go to Hamdio, Ayat, or Al Badawi
Love the TLV location therefore was excited to try out NYC opening. Booked for birthday dinner last Nov for 4 at early 5pm seating. Place was practically empty but tables were squeezed all to the corner/back area. We ordered 2 bottles of wine to accompany plenty of mains and sides. The service was truly appalling - not only did wine kept being poured on the table, plates and our phones without apology or napkins to wipe down, the sleeves of the servers kept grazing over the food. Even my favourite fish dish was underwhelming.
