The best Peruvian restaurant around town. Great prices and excellent quality! Don't miss Lomo Saltado or Arroz Chaufa!
Different take on Peruvian from the more familiar pio pio, but very delicious. Hole in the wall, warm friendly service, food is prepared fresh, unpretentious and well worth a visit
Lomo saltado steak is Amazing!!!! It’s beautiful and I wish I lived nearby to have it every other day.
Rustic place, and I’m saying it in a positive way. Food was great, it looks like you go to eat at your grandma’s!
Favorite restaurant to order rotisserie chicken, very juicy and delicious seasoning. The salchipapas are excellent.
Really nice family restaurant. Love the grilled chicken, the owners are very quiet and welcoming people. I recommend!
Wow...everything that I have ordered so far has been very tasty and delicious!!!! Chicken, Steak and Seafood platter all delicious!!!!
The setting is not special but the food is amazing! Best Peruvian food I had in New York yet!
Great Peruvian food around, very much recommended to stop and try the food on their menu, the place is small just a couple of tables but they do deliveries good serv service overall.
Lomo saltada was on point.... Great yucca fries..... Ceviche: solid. Great simple wholesome spot.
Small cute restaurant. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and yummmm. Will go again to this place
Delish food. First impressions do matter. The Tres Leches cake wasn't good
Nice authentic Peruvian restaurant with very caring staff and decent price wish the place was a bit bigger though
Great hole in the wall Peruvian spot with good food and right by the subway station! Super nice and great food specials!
The Peruvian chicken with rice is excellent here. It's also quite inexpensive and the owner is really nice.
Amazing hole in the wall place. I work nearby and get the Pollo Saltado 3 days a week. The food they cook is made to order and always with a smile. The green sauce on the side is spicy but full of flavor. They no longer serve pizza but their Peruvian specials are amazing. Highly recommend!
By far only Peruvian restaurant I saw which offers so many varieties. Small family owned restaurant. Nothing fancy but flavors are own the spot. I ordered lomo saltado (beef curry with rice and fries) and my girlfriend ordered ceviche. Both tasted good. No complaints (if they had AC in the restaurant I would have given 6 stars)
I ordered Aji de Gallina, papa rellena and tres leches and everything was great. Ordering by phone was easy. Delivery was fast. Portions were really good. Excellent prices. And the food was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this Peruvian restaurant. If you wanna have real Peruvian food, this is a good place to go or order from.
It’s small and cozy place. The food is really really good, I can highly recommend lomo salteado and chicha (king of like agua fresca, beverage). The ceviche was also really good. Please support this kind of restaurants instead of chains. Prices were affordable and great service.
Lovely family owned place in East Harlem. Simple decor and very tasty menu. The service is also very friendly and the general atmosphere very cozy. Give this place a try if you are around.
This is by far one of the best and most authentic restaurants in the neighborhood. This restaurant is unapologetically Peruvian and will serve you the Peruvian classics how they would eat it themselves. If you’re ready for the real experience, if you’re ready to eat anticucho from cuts of meats you wouldn’t eat anywhere else, if you’re ready for the tallarín verde the Peruvian way, not Italian pesto, if you’re ready for a legit chaufa and for a legit lomo saltado, in East Harlem, THIS IS IT. QUE VIVA LA RAZA!
As a peruvian I can say that I am glad that I can have all my home flavours nearby. They have lot of dishes to try. My favorites are Lomo Saltado which is like a salté steak with soy sauce, french fries and rice; Tallarines verdes con bistek which is pesto pasta with steak (medium well 😜), and ceviche which is pretty close to the one I have in Perú. The place is small and most of the time I order for delivery but still has the warm touch if you want to eat there.
The BEST Lomo Saltado in NYC 😃 really tasty menu and fair prices. If you want to experience authentic Peruvian food you have to try this place out
Great service, incredible & large sized vegetarian rice dishes and very clean premises! Would definitely go back
This an amazing hole in the wall place! Small restaurant, clean, staff is great too…food very good and home made. I like coming here for lunch and dinner to eat my Peruvian food!
My first time there today and it was delicious. Small place, however, the service, food and prices are excellent 💯
Authentic Peruvian cuisine, made by good people. My fave entree's would be Pollo a la Brasa, Lomo Saltado, Aji De Gallina, Seco de Res. Must try the Papa A la Huancaína, Anticuchos. Make sure to ask for the green sauce! 🤤
Elizabeth was a great host. Got amazing appetizers here. The Peruvian Huacatay green sauce has a kick but is great!
Best Peruvian food I’ve ever had in New York. The prices are fair and the meat is extremely high quality. Also love the ceviche
Aero Chaufa with beef or chicken is bomb 🙌🏾. The ceviche is bomb 💣. Roast chicken is great. The woman who takes the order is a doll. Love this place!
Food always solid with reasonable prices and friendly service. Standards like roasted chicken and lomo saltado are delicious. My favorite is the seco de res (beef stew).
Very good food! I really enjoyed the experience with my wife, we had some Lomo Saltado. Delicious!
Delicious Peruvian spot in East Harlem! Right off the 103rd St stop on the 6 train. Quick and nice service, freshly made food prepared to your order and very accommodating to dietary requests. Prices a little high for side dishes yet quality is there.
Small business restaurant with amazing food! Very clean, food tastes fresh & the lady is very nice. Come here often and always have a great experience! Their green sauce is soooo good, put it on my lomo, chicken, Jalea, rice and always satisfied. Prices are good and worth it good quality! Won’t regret the food *cough lomo cough*
My partner and I LOVE this place! This place offers authentic Peruvian food. The food is absolutely delicious! I have ordered from this restaurant plenty of times and I'm never disappointed. The quality of the customer service is outstanding and the workers are amicable.
The service here is nice and friendly, small hole in the wall. The food is very good and authentic, very homemade taste. I love how the fries are actual fries and not frozen, i think that’s what won me over. I usually get take out din and go to sleep happy :) It’s one of the “cheaper” spots in manhattan for peruvian, everywhere else i go it’s like double (then again i feel everything is going up) so happy this location exists!
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Their food is so fresh and delicious. Every meal is filled with flavor. Worth every penny. My favorite is their fettuccine Alfredo with either jumbo shrimp or grilled chicken. Their noodles are boiled perfectly (pasta lovers know what I mean) and their sauce is made from scrap. You can tell when pasta is made with sauce out the jar. Nope! Something about it. Very cheesy and easy to Eat. Filling to say the least. So happy I love you guys lol!
Smalls and cozy Peruvian restaurant with lovely service! We got the lomo, papa a la huancaina and the yucca. Very shareable portions!
AMAZING & cozy neighborhood gem of a restaurant. The food is always delicious and cheap, especially for being so close to UES. I try to eat there at least once a month to get my fix and still find myself craving it. The service is super kind and seems family owned/run. Special shout outs to the lomo saltado, yuca, and OF COURSE that green sauce 👌🏼👌🏼
The 'Tallarin Verde with Slice of Steak Lunch Special', 10/10 so good
My husband bought a bottle of wine and we ordered the chicken fried rice with the Peruvian chicken. We also ordered the fried calamari and we also ordered grilled chicken with avocado salad when I tell you run don’t walk. Do not crawl run here It was absolutely amazing. The flavor was top-tier fresh and I will most definitely be coming back. The price was well worth it. I couldn’t even believe that we had such a tasty restaurant in this neighborhood, but I was absolutely pleased.
Ordered delivery many times, far from their location too, and they always deliver an amazing lunch or dinner. Their anticuchos are phenomenal! The chicken is sublime but don’t forget the green sauce , available in 8 or 16 ounces, wow!!
Great lunch special, flounder filet with rice and beans. Fresh and delicious.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. I have tried several items on the menu and every one of them has been fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The staff and owners are wonderful people and always make me feel welcome.
Love this place. Consistently great food and service! Hands down the best tres leches cake in the city!
ate in and the food was great. freshly prepared and full of flavor. the staff are all very nice and attentive too. will be back!
I first came here three years ago and was immediately obsessed. The family running this is so kind, and the food is exceptional. The papa rellena and the lomo Saltado never ever disappoints. The sangria is delicious as well!
So yummy!! a (little pricy) but very genuine staff and amazing service. My mom is Mexican and my dad is Peruvian, and I’m me, we all enjoyed our visit a lot. Wish I took pics but hopefully I’ll be back. Recommend the veggie fried rice for vegans! (Plantains and yuca fries obvi too lol). Meat eaters, you will love it here!!!
Our new favorite Peruvian restaurant. If you like cozy & unpretentious plus such good food combined with pleasant & attentive service, this is your place. Tonight my hubs & I shared Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, avocado salad, & Papa rellena (riced potato ball stuffed with delicately seasoned ground meat & greaselessly déep fried so it has a thin, crisp coat). We took an extra "papa rellena" home as well as a good portion of the entire dinner. The food is just so good, nothing too fancy to make you feel like you have to sit up straight or button your coat-- just really satisfying, perfectly seasoned, good food! The coffee we loitered over with a caramel- filled buttery shortbread cookie were just right too. Five-plus stars! We shall return!
The Jalea is authentic, crispy and fresh. The green sauce is very spicy...I love it! Cut it with some olive oil if you need to.
Good is good as well as the service, prices are very reasonable compare to other restaurants in the area, traditional Peruvian food makes me feel like I am back home.
Nice cheap Peruvian food in New York. It has daily menu options
The food is good.. but the rice portions are ridiculously small. Like ive never seen such a small portion of rice. When i asked they said thats all they were allowed to put. Thats really cheap.. its just rice and you guys are charging high prices and i cant even get a full meal?
Giving 4* b/c the flavor is there, and the service is pretty friendly. Infrestructure isn't the best - my husband wasn't sure to get a table. Go! Get a try. Of course, if you know peruvian flavor you won't regret ; )
I absolutely love the food here! When there are events at my job, I like to order the food from here. I honestly do not have a specific food that I like- everything taste great.
Very good food. Small mom & pop Peruvian restaurant but quite yummy. I look forward to exploring more of their menu.
Great lunch special. Chicken fried rice was good, a group of us sat in, we didn't wait long for our food.
Food is delicious, great diversity in the menu. Authentic and fresh. My picky 5 year old loved everything (anticuchos, duck and jalea) . We ordered take out. Atmosphere does not seem conducive to sitting down for a meal.
I got a small cheese pizza here for $7 - unreal deal and it was yummy. Not the best pizza I've ever had in my life, but really good, esp considering the price. I got a side salad, too, and it was very fresh. I got it on seamless and was delivered within 20 minutes. Will definitely order again.
A nice small cozy diner in East Harlem with a lovely kind lady behind the counter. I got a half chicken. It was a bit dry. Lunch specials are quite limited. Sauces were good. The chicken could used more flavor. Can't say I'd return considering the many choices nearby but it's a good go to for anybody nearby. I think they offer delivery. No bathrooms
My 1st time here. I usually get a nice simple salad when first trying a place.. I had crisp greens, red onions & diced tomato w/grilled chicken. A couple of raisins or cranberries would had been nice. Don't know why MOST places do not serve Croutons with their salad. It's ridiculously simple to make. Also they only had 1 vinagrette. It is a small cozy place. Good for a simple date nite. Next time I'll try their Ceviche, after all, It Is A Peruvian Restaurant.
I went for dinner with a friend to this restaurant and we had a good time here. The restaurant is very small with just 3 tables inside, but they have more seating outside. I ordered duck with rice and I was very happy with my choice. The duck was crispy and tasty. My friend got steak and green noodles. She said the food was tasty.
The food was good. Staff was pleasant, atmosphere was nice. I'd go back to explore the rest of the menu.
I was disappointed. Food tastes and looks amateurish. Green noodles were poorly cooked, pesto was not good at all. Beef was tasty but overcooked. Aji de gallina was weak as well. I want to believe they had a bad day, that is why I’m not giving them 2 stars.
the food is average and the Peruvian essence is missing I've been in Perú Several times and try many Peruvian eateries and believe me the don't deliver the traditional taste the Rotisserie Chichen/ Pollo a la brasa is an average roasted chicken
The first 2 times was amazing homie good food. The last one, was everything so salty that even with water couldn't finish my portion. Idk if they change the cook but it is sad to turn down on this spot.
The value for money is just not there; expensive. 4% extra hidden charge for paying with a card !
I went there yesterday for lunch. I should’ve followed my instincts and not eaten there. The guy at the front never hung up his phone Food was just ok, chicken or salad was not very fresh. I don’t think l will go back.
Be careful - unfortunately we were overcharged. 2 small dinner, total spent $60, there was a hidden 4% charge for paying with a card and portion sizes were very small. The food was OK, just too expensive for what it is.
Food was fresh, tasted okay; however, small portions, we paid $61 for two dishes but we went back home and we were hungry after visiting this restaurant, meals are unbalanced - it was just rice, beans, french fries and tiny pieces of meat, no vegetables at all. Overall, this was not the greatest experience especially for the amount of money we spent in this restaurant.
Overall I think I wouldn’t go back. We tried the Anticuchos and only the rachi was good. The corn was COLD. The hamburger was like any other regular hamburger nothing closed to the Peruvian hamburger. Staff was ok, not much friendly. They told us the owner was out for some reason so I want to think that might be he was the chef too therefore since he was away the food was not good. Not recommended, sorry.
Place is small not too fancy, wait! Is not fancy. The food was ok; it was eatable if you know what I mean. Now, would I go back there? No. The place is way too expansive $7 for a beer two regular plate of of food with 4 beers was 68+ with tips almost $90.
I ordered the "Lomo salteado". Meat is delicious and great quality, also rice. I am giving 2 stars for the very small steak portion and 24 usd charge. Very pricey for the amount, I think I won't come back here.
food is very expensive here, portions are small for the price you pay. Be prepared to expend $50 for 2 in a nasty dirty place
Excessive charge %19 gratitude and service %2.99 ……????? Big restaurants never overcharge
For a pick up they charge you a "service fee". Overcharged for the food itself. For the money I paid, I was so disappointed. Not recommended at all!
Over-priced for tasteless food.had the rotisserie chicken, damn. I think I got leftovers from last night.
My friends and i Ordered as take out and was asked to add on orders for our friends so while we waited for the 20min time frame we asked if we can eat our food that’s already been prepared and paid for and was denied that access! There were no patrons at the restaurant and while my friend called to order the receptionist was rolling her eyes insisting that my friends order as delivery jus to not have us wait even if we weren’t going to eat! As an existing customer this was very disappointing and my friends declined the order and we would have if it wasn’t paid for. I will not recommend this service to anyone as it was unprofessional!
I paid 20 bucks for lomo sataldo yesterday and it was not even half full on the plate. You can feed a child with that. If you order from the light house on 117th bet 1st and York Ave for 16 bucks you get 7 wings and 2 sides...quechua nostra you super trash for that
First time customer. Ordered a Tallarin Verde. Minimal sauce and flavorless. Disappointed.
Ordered chicken soup and lomo saltado for delivery. The soup was the worst I have ever eaten and the portion of the lomo was tiny. Very expensive and terrible quality.
Ordered lomo saltado for the price , meal was small and they make you pay for hot sauce which should come with all the meals . Go to queens instead . Will not be ordering again
If you want truly good authentic peruvian food go ANYWHERE but here. The portions are ridiculously small. The foods flavourless and fatty. I ordered a togo order and the meal barely filled the tiny to go container. The Seco came with a small side of flavourless beans and the rice was gritty and had hard pieces. Very disappointing.
Very disappointing customer service. I have been going here for years and my order never strayed far from the pollo a la brass. However I decided to splurge and order ají de gallina, chancho, maduros, arroz chaufa, lomo saltado y pollo a la brasa. None of the food was up to par! I think the people who are finding the food good have never had the actual dishes. Similarly it was not even whether it was authentic, the food was mainly under seasoned except for the aji de gallina which was over salted but that was crazy over charged because it's a chicken based dish but over 90% of the plate was potatoes with the smallest bit of chicken on top. When we called to express our frustration after spend 100$ on take out we were told that this is how we do it, if you dont like it go elsewhere, no apologies, no offer to fix any of the dishes. Just gotta be happy with wasting 100$ and that's it. Ultimately only 10$ of the 100$ was edible. The people who run this place are not even peruvian. Beware the fake authenticity and more than anything the rude customer service. I would only get the pollo a la brass from here if I go back but even that is a gamble because some times it's under seasoned and sometimes its dry. Very hit and miss. Would not recommend.
We usually don’t go here because of the ridiculous small portions but their food was decent in terms of flavor and we weren’t that hungry, so portion was ok for today. We ordered two lomo saltados. First the food as usual small portions, but this time worse. The skirt steak if that what it was, was cut in small one inch squares, 2 to 3 pieces of tomatoes, a few pieces of onions, and about 5 to 6 pieces of fries…no flavor. Let’s not forget the 2/3 cup of white rice in each order. My 19 year old son makes better white rice than this spot. We felt like we got take out in an unknown spot. To think we paid $18 for each, tip and a freakin service fee for using our credit card. What a rip off! We could go across town and get same meal and both my husband and I eat with one order and it taste better. Sad!!!!! We like to support our community restaurants but both my husband and I will never go there again!!!! Tasteless, small portioned, over priced Peruvian food. Never again Quechua Nostra.
Placed an order and once it said 1h to deliver i called the restaurant and asked to cancel the order. Lady that answered the phone said the same second “Sorry its ready”. Hows food prepared in less than a minute?! She didnt want to cancel and insisted its ready? How did she bake the potato in 1 minute? Are you serving food cooked from god knows when. It costs 50$ on top of this. ABSURD. You are petty and lost a customer bcs you are hungry for money. Wont be ordering from here!!!
I have not encountered a human being (the host/waitress) so utterly uncompassionate in quite some time. I was shocked at the treatment I received. I had always considered having lunch here, but now I know I would never patronize this business, even if it was the last one standing.
I couldn't give it a zero therefore I give it a 1. They cover the tips without the the customers knowledge. If you pay with car is 4% more of a tip. The food is disgusting, and the service is so bad. The food was salty, and the drinks were unsweetened. The tres leches cake wasn't even tres leches. It was thick and no flavor. Not worth your money.
I had the soup, chicken in soup and it was overcooked. We got two orders of the chicken and they were dry as well. The rice was nothing special and then beans were okay. On top of that they were so rude to us. Rushing us out as we were getting ready to go. We were already rushing and stressed about it. A toddler, 4 and 7 year old in the middle of a snowstorm. At some point they even turned on sexy music videos even thought they had to pass the children to get the remote. Gross! On my way out, they just stared at me struggling to open the narrow door while managing the stroller and kids. Not kid friendly.
