Great Mexican restaurant, great soups. Stay away from Chicken fajitas. It is made with breast meat and therefore very dry.
Oscar the best bartender ! Food was great and drinks were great z after 10 there is Dj . 100% recommended!
This place soooo much fun, music was great, food exceptional and the staff was so attentive, definitely will be going back, thank u for making our birthday party memorable 😊
Best happy hour in the area! Great food and even better atmosphere! 10/10 recommend!
Have become a regular here over the past year because of some close friends and its one of my favorite places. Vibes, music and of course drinks by Oscar are the best. 10/10 recommend
10 stars. Drinks, food, service- everything was excellent. Our waitor was so kind and what I loved about him, is that you can really tell he loves this restaurant and serving his clients. Wish I got his name, but wow best and most friendliest service i have received in Manhattan. Everytime a plate was taken to the guest, they all looked so fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back to try the fajitas. My friend and I truly loved coming here and we will be back for sure!
After all these years of annual NYC trips, this was our first Mexican restaurant. And it was awesome! The interior is perfectly rustic, yet cozy. The service and food were perfect. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions. The only somewhat negative was that it was so loud from all the conversation, but that’s normal for this kind of restaurant. We will return!!!
I think this is one of the many times I will be visiting this place the food is great and the big plus was the service, as soon as we walked in everyone was so friendly Oscar the bartender was so peasant to talk to and always attentive to make sure we always had a drink in our hands the waiter Luis was very friendly and attentive as well. Definitely coming back every chance we get ++++++
very VERY friendly. owner was nice enough to come over and greet us at the table. tacos were AMAZING!!! drinks were AMAZING!!! ... their tequila menu is EXTENSIVE ... I couldn't believe what I was looking at ... not only am i coming back here but I would DEFINTELY recommend this place
We had an amazing dinner and experience here and will definitely be going back! The staff went above and beyond - they were so friendly and attentive. We both got the Rancho Burritos which were delicious. Very fresh ingredients and great flavor. They have very good happy hour specials on margaritas and sangria (I think $8) and on other drinks. Just a note: you have to sit at the bar for happy hour specials, but you can order food at the bar too. It’s a very close walk to the theaters and surrounded by plenty of great bars. Would definitely recommend going here for your before/after Broadway show dinner.
I travel from west to east, North to South and I was not expecting to find the best Mexican restaurant in NY. You have to try it, food is amazing, presentation, flavors are unexpected and delicious service is great. I spent 30 days in the area and I visited the restaurant 15 times Sebastian and Mauricio bartenders are incredibly friendly fast and efficient.
Really adore their staff. Food is great, Spicy Margherita is delicious
The tacos are fantastic. They backed up their word on being “great tacos.” The service is fantastic with an attentive waiter and quick turnarounds. The atmosphere is great. The drinks are fantastic and large portions. The waiter will try to upsell you, but great place overall.
Everything was great. Food , Service and Servers. Great Vegetarian options as well plus drinks also. And great place to celebrate birthdays!!..
I had a really wonderful experience here in Rancho Tequilera. The service is really good, kind and they were always aware about whatever we need in our dinner. The food was amazing and really tasty. The place clean and neat including the bathrooms. I went for my husband’s birthday and he got a tequila shot and everyone sang happy birthday, it was really nice. I really like this place and I really recommend you to go there. 🙌🏻
Discovered this spot in 2020 during the pandemic and been a Loyal Customer ever since. Their drinks & food is top notch and the staff is friendly and attentive. Shout out to the 2 Juans (bartender & manager) and Oscar.
TL;DR: Delicious food with friendly, attentive staff and a great vibe. This was my second time dining at RT. The menu’s pretty big, so my dining companion and I played it safe and ordered most of the food and beverage items that we had on our previous visits. The one exception was the ranchos juevos. I’ll admit that I didn’t know what to expect and when it was delivered to the table I was at first disappointed at the portion size, but that was short lived because the second plate, with potatoes and salad, was delivered to the table. Everything was delicious. Some of the prices were slightly higher than when I visited in November 2021, but the prices are still reasonable.
Undoubtedly five stars! The service was beyond excellent, the staff was VERY attentive and yet not overbearing. The food was AMAZING!, the guacamole with the chipotle pepper was INCREDIBLE and perhaps the best guacamole I've EVER had. The prices are steep compared to the options that are within walking distance but I assure you the higher prices outweigh the alternatives. I happily paid the bill here and left with a smile. Highly recommended. Would choose this over the other options irregardless of the price comparison.
The food here is so delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine. We had a great server who gave us excellence recommendations and service. The ambiance is really nice and warm here as well, highly recommend!
This place exceeded expectations. I found it just by looking for Mexican places near me and despite the outdated pics on here, we decided to give it a try. And I’m so glad we did! The service was literally impeccable! Our waitress checked on us multiple times, our water glasses were never empty, our plates were cleared as soon as we were done and the table wiped. The food was equally impressive. The shrimp ceviche was very flavorful with like, cucumber, and onions. I got the Tampiquena which is a nicely marinated strip steak with a dollop of guacamole, rice, beans, and I think a chimichurri sauce. My mom got the steak fajitas which had handmade tortillas and was equally flavorful. We finished with the coconut flan which was just the right size and very creamy! The margaritas are also big and very strong, my mom was still feeling it 2 hours later. Highly recommend, service was great, food was delicious, and prices though a bit high were worth the quality of food. 10/10!
I really can recommend this restaurant to everyone who‘s in love with Mexican food . All in all I can suggest everything they have on their menu but especially MOLCAJETE🤩😍 SERVICE was great (thank you for everything Oscar xoxo👏👍) The ambience in this establishment is delightful and I honestly feel in love with that place. They also serve the best dessert I‘ve eaten in my entire life. It is called „…. hot macho?“ and it‘s banana covered in chocolate served with ice and set on fire 🔥 at the table. Greetings from Isabella &Jacek We spent a wonderful time there ☺️ (It was a culinary pleasure)
I came here for some water and a margarita and I ended up eating delicious, tasty and affordable lunch with a very well made frozen mar served by violent (Violeta in Spanish), a very nice and friendly and welcoming host. I love the sits at the bar. I'll be coming bar anytime time I'm in hell kitchen and I want to have a nice comfortable time in a Mexican restaurant.
Best lunch special around. And the employees are a delight. I believe Sylvia and Amy always serve us. And we keep coming back for more. The margs are awesome👌
Wow! The dishes were full of flavor, everything we ordered tasted amazing! Great margaritas! Very friendly servers and wonderful ambiance
I stopped by mostly to charge my iPhone and asked for an “elote asado” and passion fruit margarita and really got surprised about the delicious 🤤 taste and freshness of the elote (grilled corn 🌽 with Cotija cheese 🧀) and the perfect mix of the margarita 😋 I could stay here all afternoon😜😃😃
The tamales were awesome! We really enjoyed the food, the cocktails were pretty good (sangria and margarita). The service was stellar - the kitchen for slammed with a huge group and even though we weren't fussing, they offered us free tequila shots (good stuff too!). I was super impressed. Will be back!
Wonderful service, amazing cocktails and delicious vegetarian options. They have a handful of vegetarian dishes, and the three that we tried were all delicious. Would recommend Chile rellenos and their sopa de tortilla. Their michelada was refreshing! Generous portions and friendly staff. The atmosphere was buzzing!
You’d be surprised how hard it is to find a friendly casual neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Manhattan (options for a taco spot or fancy Mexican are plentiful, but that comfort-giving hang-spot with great drinks and food and good prices is so elusive!) so thank goodness for Rancho Tequileria. Stumbled in here a couple years ago for happy hour and dinner which was delicious, so decided to come back when I was craving a good spot to sit and visit while munching on an enchilada, and so glad I did. We had a margarita and sangria (having lived in Spain, the option of red and white is so refreshing, and the sangria tinta was delicious and legit). The enchiladas suizas were flavorful, the accompanying rice and beans were perfectly seasoned, not dry or greasy. My husband’s carne asada with mole wrap were delicious and well cooked and he mentioned that the quality of the steak was impressive. The service was attentive and friendly, and the vibe was upbeat but not too loud. Great neighborhood spot - we’ll be back!
We arrived at 12:15 PM ona Monday. Place was almost empty and we got a table right away. Found the tables and seating area to be clean and well maintained. We placed order and within 10 minutes we started with salad and the main course followed. Staff is very attentive and quick to respond. Cutlery was wrapped in tissue and squeky clean. Serving quality was just right. And, pricing couldn't be any better. Would definitely recommend this place. We couldn't try the bar as we still had half day at work. What deserves a special mention? Food is great here. Would love to try drinks as well. What could be better? Nothing, they are doing a great job.
Some of my coworkers found this place about four years ago. We've been coming back ever since. The food here is absolutely delicious. We've also learned that the service can be a little slow, so we always try to place our whole order when they come around asking for drink orders. They do change the menu almost every year, so don't get too attached to certain dishes, but it also helps keep us trying new items on the menu. As of now, the Carne Asada is probably our favorite thing on the menu. The Margaritas are probably the best in the neighborhood (get a pitcher, you won't be disappointed). Also, ask for the spicy Guac. It definitely hits the spot.
Enjoyed a flavorful chicken burrito and margarita. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is a balanced mix of casual and comfortable and classy. Music lends to the experience, but doesn't overpower conversation. The bartender was genuinely friendly, and my margarita was stout and nicely seasoned.
Great food and service! Inside is loud and high energy, with outdoor heated seating area with lots of tables for two. We sat outside and the temperature was very comfortable and noise level much more suited for dinner conversation. We enjoyed our food and would definitely come back again!
Really good! The Sopa de Pollo was delicious. It’s been a while since I’ve had some authentic chicken soup that good. The only thing is I wish they had horchata, but I get it not a lot of people drink horchata. If we are ever back in NYC, will def stop by. The workers were also very kind.
Excellent experience at the Mexican restaurant and bar Rancho. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Juan, the manager, was attentive and professional, making sure everything was perfect. Oscar, the bartender, was exceptional, preparing delicious and well-crafted drinks. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and an overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
Rancho Tequileria deserves every star. Came here for Halloween dinner and the vibe was excellent. Everyone was dressed up, having a great time, and the atmosphere felt genuinely warm and welcoming. It was a cold night outside, but they had the temperature inside dialed in perfectly. Had a few mezcal pours and they were exactly how they should be—strong, generous, and not over-measured. Always appreciated. The food was solid across the board. You can tell the oil is clean and not reused, which makes a big difference. Everything tasted fresh and well executed. Honestly, this is one of my favorite spots. Looking forward to coming back again soon.
I LOVE coming to this establishment! I’ve been coming here since 2020, the staff is amazing. Happy hour is at the bar however, it’s worth a seat especially when you’re being served by Oscar, Juan, Jose, Yuri, Sylvia,Juan (the manager), or Aki. The food is also very good. Come here if you live in the New York City area or a visitor.
Rancho Tequileria is one of the best spots in Hell’s Kitchen. The food is always amazing and the service is outstanding - the staff makes me feel at home every time I visit. Lunch is fast, tasty, and well-priced, and dinner has the perfect atmosphere for spending time with friends or enjoying a memorable date night. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, great service, and fair Hell’s Kitchen pricing. This place never disappoints!
Best Mexican restaurant in HK! Run, don’t walk. This place is always a hit when we bring visitors here. The entire menu is incredible but we particularly love the fajitas and skinny margaritas (although pricey). Service is fast and friendly as well!
Absolutely fantastic venue. This chicken was incredible. Multiple TVs showing sport, vibey mexican style music. Great to visit if you're solo, on a date, with family or friends. Great selection of drinks including cocktails. Very good service and the homemade dessert was beautiful. Loved it so much I came back again. Highly recommend.
Traveling To A Different Country while still in NYC. Scenic atmosphere with lots of reggaeton & Spanish music. The nice part is you could request songs for the Djay to play. The food was delectable & fresh. 10/10 for quick bites. Full bar for any drink & the bar menu has great variety.
Our go-to spot for a great meal! Conveniently located in our neighborhood, we’ve been here several times, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always family-friendly, and the customer service is consistently excellent. The food is delicious, and the drinks are top-notch— every time. Plus, they have the best brunch on 9th Avenue! Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food and a welcoming vibe!

Better than expected. I was surprised to see the seafood soup served in a traditional clay pottery soup bowl. The soup was good but could have used some vegetables in the pot. The soup is literally seafood and mushroom. The huitlacoche quesadilla was good. A bit on the snall side. Floor tortillas the size of corn tortillas. The margaritas delicious. The salsa too mild.
So I'm kinda indifferent about this place. Now I must admit, what I ate was good! With that being said, the staff was friendly, the setting was nice and the service was quick. BUT... I definitely think what I paid for wasn't worth what I got. Now one could argue that it's after/during a pandemic muchless, in midtown muchless, in Manhattan. I hear you. However, below is a picture of the Salmon Asado. Again, very tasty, but it $27 for a filet of salmon and some corn and zucchini. THAT'S IT! I was like where the rest of the food!!! Honestly, it's just the pricing. Everything else was A+ that's why it gets 4 stars but I can't give it 5. If you like Mexican food and don't care about the price, I guess this is your spot.
way above the average mexican take out food. this is a real restaurant with traditional and elaborate dishes. The Chili Regano (vegetarian) were incredible, and they have awesome ‘mole’. Good cocktails too. Worth it. It changed my mind about mexican food. But: few vegetarian options, they were really good though, and nothing vegan beside the guacamole.
We ordered happy hour margaritas and Rosie our server/ bartender was very nice and welcoming. The jalapeno poppers were very delicious, so were the margaritas! Try their coconut flavor, it's sooo good! We ordered Shrimp fajitas for the entree and those were really good too. Big portions!
So..the reviews are really good so my family (on vacation in New York) chose this restaurant specifically because of the reviews. First of all, the food was good, not the best I’ve ever tasted, but good. The ambiance was fun. It was VERY loud but only because there were a ton of people there. As a result, we had to shout to speak to the server and to each other. Due to this, the hubby and the kids ended up playing on their phones most of the time since we couldn’t hear each other and didn’t feel like shouting. The prices are high. I ordered a sangria….I was shocked when the bill had a $22 on it for that sangria!!!! There are no prices on the “drink” menu. I repeatedly asked the price of the sangria before ordering it but 1) the server couldn’t hear me, 2) she did not speak English very well and did not understand what I was asking. Like I said, the food was good. The kids ordered multiple refills of coke…it would have been nice to know we were being charged for EVERY refill. No one bothered to tell us that. So our bill for 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 11) was just over $200. We only had one alcoholic drink but numerous coke refills, and 4 entrees. I thought it was quite expensive. I’m not sure why Google has this place listed as only $$. Overall we did enjoy the food though.
Solid 4! Good food - very tasty chicken soup like my grandmother’s!) Casadilla-dry chicken filling not for the first time, guicamole-tasty, business lunch $13! Of course, there is not much soup, the burrito is hearty... a good place!
Food is fantastic, very nice staff and good environment. We ordered nachos as starter, two different tacos as main and 2 mojitos each (we were two). Everything was delicious and service was great. The bill was 120$ + 20$ tips so it was a bit expensive (due to the mojitos mostly 15$ each) but we had a very good time.
Nice, unpretentious, fun, place. Easy to get to if you are in the area. Nice staff. We sat outside. Enjoyed the food very much. Ordered Cevicheria - Octopus with cilantro and cured Salmon. And Tampiquena for an entree: Tequila Lime and rosemary marinated grilled steak served with cheese enchilada, guacamole mexican rice and black beans. Liked it a lot. They did bring the appetizers together with the entree, but that happens in restaurants sometimes. They compensated that with offering free shots.
I always walk by this place and kept wanting to try it. My aunt was in town so we just decided to get a marg and some nachos. Here’s the thing, I’m usually not a size king and don’t discriminate based on size but we decided to split the nachos because we weren’t too hungry yet but still could snack on something. The plate of nachos was the size of my aunts hand and we just thought it was funny at the moment which is why I’m giving 4 stars, because no shade but be for real. The service and atmosphere was great tho! Maybe just a drink and an app here nothing too serious.
Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with a group of friends. The happy hour deal is great — $9 margaritas with only $2 extra for flavors is a solid deal. The consistency of the drinks is impressive; they stay nicely frozen, and they’re strong with great flavor. The staff was also very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. As for the food, it didn’t feel very authentically Mexican — more like an Americanized version of Mexican cuisine. The nachos were good overall. We ordered the spicy guac and chips, but unfortunately the guac wasn’t spicy at all. I had the Aztec quesadilla — the filling was delicious, but the outer side of the tortilla on all the pieces was overly greasy and oily. I’ve been here before and remember the music being more Latin and fitting the vibe better. This time, there was a lot more English music, and the ambiance didn’t feel as Latin or Mexican as it had in the past, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a good experience. The margaritas were definitely the highlight, but the food and music could’ve been better for a Mexican restaurant.
A decent Mexican restaurant near Times Square with good gluten-free options. The place was extremely noisy when we visited. I tried the chicken with chocolate sauce (mole), which came in a large portion and was served with corn tortillas. Portions overall are quite generous. The waiters were generally nice, although only one of them was particularly welcoming while the others were more straightforward. Overall, it’s a solid option in the area, especially if you need gluten-free choices, but it’s probably not the most original Mexican restaurant you’ll find in New York
Solid Mexican restaurant with cozy interior My wife and I stopped at Rancho Tequileria on 9th Ave for an early dinner after a Broadway show on Christmas Eve 2025. The food was tasty, flavorful, and nicely presented, and the service was very quick, possibly because the place was almost empty due to the holiday. A couple of things, however, kept the experience short from being a five-star one: the tequila shots were served without any salt; the enchiladas were slightly over salted; and the fajita came with only warm tacos and rice and beans, without any additional sides. Overall, it’s a decent restaurant and worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for a Mexican cuisine bite. Food ordered Flautas De Pollo (taquitos with chicken) - good Enchiladas Suizas with Chicken - juicy, moderately spicy, served with a well-complementing sauce. Would be a five-star if it weren’t over salted Rancho Fajita with Chicken - savory and comforting, though also slightly over salted
The food and drinks at this restaurant are worth every penny! Yall need to try it out! I went here before a show with some the friends and it was a great decision. The restaurant is a but small, yet intimate. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. This spot has fast service, quality delicious meals and srong drinks. What more could you ask for? Our server, Emily, was the sweetest and gave us some food recommendations. The guacamole and chips were okay. The chips were crispy, but the quacamole needed some more seasoning and spice. My friend loved the chicken flautas and her mango margarita. The chicken fajitas was a large portion and came with some seasoned rice and beans. I ordered the carne asado tacos and it was prepared very well. But, it tasted a bit off. It could have the tortilla that was used and me not being familiar with it. I would definitely come her again for some drinks, fajitas, and might try a different taco.
Great place, great food, great staff. May I recommend the Chicken Enchiladas with the Salsa Verde. The shredded chicken has flavor on its own but is upgraded with the Salsa verde and the melted cheese on top. The Carne Asada Tacos are simple yet delicious. Topped off with guac and on grilled onions. They aren't the typical bigger tacos we get. They are on the smaller side which can perhaps be eaten in two bites. The Nachos are a great starter to your meal. They are not your typical stacked up nachos with shreddes cheese, lettuce & mid tortilla chips that have the sodium levels through the roof. With these nachos you can taste each ingredient in every bite- Melted cheese, refried beans, jalapeños, Mexican cream & cheese. Definitely taste more homey. The Guacamole is pretty decent, taste fresh and appropriately salted. The one downside, in my opinion, are the portions. And I'm speaking specifically for the food that I got. For example you only get two enchiladas when in most restaurants, standard is 3. The tacos are, like I said, on the smaller side. And the nachos are smaller portions compared to others. Just keeping in mind these are Manhattan prices we're paying. BUT, they definitely have quality. And if I had to choose, I would definitely choose quality over quantity.

Friendly atmosphere, good food, happy hr as well but bar only and friendly service Would definitely return again in the future
Frozen margs were quite good and strong! But no chips and salsa on the table :/ Asked for salsa with the chicken fajitas and was told it’s an extra charge. Not a real issue - but severs were fast to pull plates and were asked many times to get a 2nd drink. Food was ok! Chicken seemed a bit rubbery. Rough around the edges and don’t feel compelled to come back
Came for the good star reviews but was disappointed. Service can be improved, food was not authentic, not many vegetarian options available and atmosphere was too noisy. If you’re looking for a place to have a cozzy chat and enjoy some real authentic Mexican food, this is not the place for you.
June 2022. This is a Mexican restaurant that serves Mexican food. We came for lunch when the restaurant was basically devoid of patrons, which is why I was baffled that the server seated us right next to the only other table occupied by guests. At $18.95 for "carnitas tacos" I expected a little more than 4 baby sized tacos. They did taste really good, but I don't know if they were worth the price. I was really intrigued by the pyramid shaped rice which came as a side. It made me feel like I was excavating for mummies in Egypt. Our server was very friendly, however, when we were ready to pay the check she disappeared for 20 minutes and we were like "where are you girl?"
The meals are tiny and not filling. For $20, you get 3 extra-small tacos. My quesadilla for an $20 was also small and not filling. Anything extra like rice & beans is more $ and tiny. But, The service was good.
Do not trust the bill! They added $3.34 to my margarita Just to add salt to the rim! Super rip off
Food is okay and service is fine. But the prices are crazy. It's NY, everything is expensive but no shot 4 small street tacos is $20+. Look elsewhere, plenty of good options around here.
First; the food is fine & service is decent but the prices for the food don't match up the portion size. We ordered steak tacos and we got three very small sections with almost no meat and it doesn…
Picked up a “too good to go” app order which basically means you don’t get a choice but you get a discount. The food is packed for pick up. The server made me wait ten minutes and was incredibly rude. Finally food came and I asked him what was in it. He refused to tell me. I was going to take it but I have some allergies and sensitivities. That’s how it works, but I don’t want to eat something that might make me sick. He refused and said the kitchen packed it, I handed it back and asked him to ask. He threw it away and waved me off like I was a fly on his lunch. Maybe they’re nicer if they are getting a tip… but I sure hope other people saw how rude he was and didn’t tip. Real “spit in your food vibes” if you ask any questions. Run away.
Underhwleming experience! The waiter greeted within 10 mins of sitting down but never returned back. Drinks showed up after 30 mins and the food never showed up. After waiting for 40 mins, upon asking the waiter forgot to put in our food order. As new neighbors in Hell’s Kitchen, im a little underwhelmed by the experience and service.
Had dinner here with my friend and it was alright; nothing to write home about, but what I didn’t appreciate is the bartender TELLING me that he went ahead and charged my card for the total plus the tip. Didn’t even bother to ask me how much I’d like to tip. I usually tip when we go out, but what I don’t appreciate is someone thinking they’re so deserving of a tip that they can decide preemptively how much I need to tip and go ahead and bill me for that.
