Tip: It's more of a takeout spot with limited seating, but there's a plaza nearby with benches. A great alternative to overpriced hot dog stands.

This restaurant has figured out what makes places successful. The food delivers satisfaction at sensible prices. They've matched visual appeal with the right mood. The team members are quick yet thoroughly attentive. Everyone deserves one visit to this place.
I went to the seaport to get some sun and then felt like having some shrimp and fish to take home. After looking online, I discovered this place that had great reviews, so I decided to try it. I walked from the south street seaport to the restaurant, and it took me a minute to realize that I had to turn the corner to see it. I am so glad that I went there, and bought a combo dish to take home- fried fish, fried shrimp, and a salad. I did wonder how it would fare walking back to the train and then on the ride home since it was all in one container. No problems at all. I did forget to ask if it was possible not too put tomatoes in the salad since i'm allergic but I simply picked them. The salad was so so fresh I was really amazed. And the fried shrimp and fish, were delicious. I had half of everything for dinner and will finish it off tomorrow. It really hit the spot. And just what I was craving. For anyone in the area, I would definitely recommend to stop by and pick something up. Besides the great price, the gentleman who made the order was very nice. I think this will now be my go to spot when I go down to the seaport area.
I got this delivered so I can't comment on the service or Atmosphere. But the food was great. The breading of the fried fish is a panko type. The fish was wonderfully flakey. The tartar sauce was bright with a bit of citrus to it that made it stand out. The fries where shockingly good. Even after it was delivered they managed to hold the right amount of crunch. I will be ordering again for sure.
Really nice fish & chips restaurant downtown. Great pricing by NYC standards. I'm usually not a fan of American style fish & chips, but this place did a great job! There's not much seating as it's more of a takeout spot, but it's right next to a plaza with lots of benches.
Agreed that this place is the best bang for your buck if you're craving fried fish! Portions are huge...fish was good , the rice was really good and the leafy green salad was unexpectedly really, really good. Sodas reasonably priced and staff was friendly and quick! Clams needed more seasoning though.
Very friendly staff, amazing quality, and you “live” the financial district as a local. We shared a fried flounder with chips (fresh french fries) for $11 and it was delicious and fresh. If you are a tourist don’t fall for the overpriced hod-dogs stands in the area. Follow google maps to this location.
Title: Terrace Fish & Chips: A Pleasant Surprise in Lower Manhattan Review: Dinner at Terrace Fish & Chips on Pearl Street was a refreshing change from the usual bustling eateries of New York. The place had a bare-bones setup with seating that's hard to come by, hinting at an almost exclusive experience for those who stumble upon it. It struck me odd that a restaurant in such a busy slice of the city would be so quiet at 4:15 p.m., but the peace was welcome. One person was holding down the fort, but his demeanor was warm and professional, ensuring my meal was on the table without delay. Diving into the menu, the choice was simple—the day's special caught my attention. The Fried Flounder with Fresh Fries came out piping hot and in abundance. The flounder was fried to a satisfying crispness, hiding the tender fish within, while the fries maintained their crisp even as they cooled—a pleasing duo by any measure. However, the fried calamari I added on the side didn't quite hit the mark. It was missing the expected burst of taste, which contrasted with the otherwise flavorful meal. I washed it all down with a diet coke—the only option since the place doesn't serve alcohol, which suited me just fine. The presentation was no-frills, with the meal served in simple takeaway containers accompanied by disposable utensils. This was ideal for me, especially needing a quick bite after a trip to Staten Island and heading home. So, if you're around the Ferry Terminal and need a fast, delicious seafood dish, this spot could be worth the stop. Although the calamari was a bit of a letdown, the rest of the meal made up for it, and the overall experience was enjoyable. I give it four stars for the food and the hassle-free dining experience.
A different kind of fast food restaurant because they solely specialize in fried and grilled fish, shrimp and seafood all tasty and well prepared with side dishes and sauces. My only disappointment was not being able to eat it there since I took order to go. Their menu is very diverse and reasonably priced.
We were in the neighborhood and saw that they sell fish and chips, so we stopped and had a quick bite. We got fried fish, fried shrimps with fries, and fried flounder with seafood rice and salad. We also got fried scallops and onion rings. The fried fish wasn’t the one I’m familiar with, it was some kind of white fish with skin. It was thin, a bit fishy and a bit dry. The tartar sauce did help, but it was still just okay. The shrimps were butterflied, but just like the fish, they were dry. The fries were actually pretty nice. The fried scallops were a surprise, because I thought it would be the big ones for like 2 or 3 pieces, but instead, it came in a small bucket full of small scallops. They were nice, and tender, but a bit bland. The flounder was a bit better than the fried fish. The onion rings were probably the best of all. The staff were nice and friendly. He was in charge of taking orders, cooking the food, and taking payments. It was impressive.
Got a stomach bug after eating the fish and chips.
Went to Terrace fish and chips today because I had been craving fish for over a week. Ordered the special of the day, fried flounder. Their founder must have been less than a quarter inch thick. It felt like biting into dried pork skins with a thin layer of ham in between. The salad was good, the French fries was sub par. I honestly expected much more from a prime location and for the price I paid for. I am very disappointed in the establishment. Feel a bit cheated out on the fish. Only reason they don't have only one star is because their staff treated is very well. The picture is of my co-worker's founder, ordered the same I had.
