That damn chicken man🤷🏾♂️.. Its amazing love how fresh and hot my food comes out no matter if I dine-in or take out bonchon has my heart. From there chicken to there tacos this place will have you humming while eating
I've never been in this restaurant before but I'm sure the service and atmosphere are great. My girlfriend referred me to this place cause she really wanted to try it, I was hesitant but I tried it cause I didn't want to spend a lot of money on food I was nervous I wouldn't like(I'm picky). I ordered pork pot stickers with yangnyeom sauce and tteokbokki.. uhm, omg? Both were delicious, the sauce is 10/10 I love spicy things so both are my favorite. I don't get tteokbokki often cause an order for my girlfriend and I is already pretty expensive haha. Buldak is her staple, tteokbokki as well. Best for last, the Korean donuts. YUMMM, never in my life have I tasted something so decadent 😞. My only critique is that I wish I could order more than 8 potstickers on Doordash cause they're just that good): 10/10 overall, would recommend
Chicken tenders were so crunch but not oily and Korean sweet and spicy sauce was close to what I had in Seoul, Korea. I will definitely be back here again.
You actually get what your paying for. I can honestly say these were the best wings that I have had in a long time. I got bone in wings half spicy half Korean barbecue they were absolutely delicious. They had a great crunch to them not over done they were perfect. The sauces were great. My wife got boneless wings, soy and Korean BBQ. She absolutely loved them. We also got the chicken tender kids meal.m, and the tenders were delicious also. To top it off, they have these amazing donuts that I would absolutely recommend. We did pick up the food was hot and fresh when we got it he opened up the bag on the way home, so the wings would not condensate and they were delicious. I was a little skeptical to try this after trying, Raising Cane’s and Colby’s, but I can honestly say this is definitely a must try. We will be coming back again for sure.
WOW! this food was truly love at first sight. First off I got the yum drum box and OH MY! The spicy chicken was so delectable the inside was juicy and the outside was so light and crispy. The French fries were so good and don’t get me started on the donut with the sauce. SO FLIPPING YUMMY! Oh and I also got fried rice that thing was GAS! If I had tried bonchon earlier it would have been disastrous. I just love it and I can’t wait to try the other items! 10/10, does not disappoint!
We finally tried Bonchon at The Grove (the former College Square) in Newark, Delaware on Wednesday, Oct. 12. We were amazed at how delicious everything was. My wife absolutely loved the chicken tacos, and I found the chicken sandwich amazing. The best tasting chicken we have ever had. All the items we ordered came out perfectly. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Bonchon is a definite YES on our list of places to eat.
First time eating at a Bonchon. The online menu got my attention. Got soy garlic chicken tacos. Lots of yummy flavors layered in there. Both the slaw and chicken had good crunch (got the fried chicken). Saw mixed reviews, but was so interested in trying them. We were very satisfied and would definitely eat here again.
Love their wings! Wings are so crispy and very good size. The chicken drumsticks are huge! It's a little pricey but I think it's very worth it.
We have been anxiously waiting for this place to open. Today we had an opportunity to place a large take-out order. I was a bit leery due to the mixed reviews. We ordered online and found the process very easy. When we arrived, we found the place clean and neat. The staff person was very friendly, and our order was ready when it was supposed to be. When we got home, we were pleasantly surprised to find our order was accurate and well packed. We have found that to be a rarity from many places. The food was very tasty. The chicken was crispy and even the fries were very good. The pickled radishes were outstanding and a welcome surprise. We enjoyed every aspect of our meal, and we will definitely come back again. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Bonchon’s chicken isn’t just good—it’s life-altering. My personal fave is the drumstick.... so spicy... so crunchy, which I’m convinced might actually be the best chicken on planet Earth (don't fight me on this, just believe). 🐔🔥 Every bite is crispy, saucy perfection. I’ve also fallen in love with the Bulgogi Stir Fry Udon, and today I’m venturing into Bacon Kimchi Stir Fry Udon territory. Can’t wait! I’ll try to update with photos… assuming I don’t black out from joy and inhale it all before my camera comes out. LOL. Bonchon = happiness served on a plate. They should've been featured on KPop Demon Hunters! Oh! And Nita is just the very best! Ask for her. Always great help and very peaceful. Thanks Nita!
I like coming here with family. The food is great. I'm not mentioning my menu favorites because I dont want them running out of my faves.
We ordered the sample plate with Korean BBQ wings and legs, steak fries, Street corn, coleslaw, and potstickers. It was all very delicious. I think Korean barbecue chicken is our current favorite thing.... and this was one of the best we've had so far.. we will definitely order food from here again.
The food was very fresh and good. It was different which is what I was looking for. I definitely want to go back and try different items. The staff is extremely friendly with a smile and not the fake niceness we all know. Give them a try if you are looking for a different kind of vittles.
The food here is consistently good. While the menu may not be large, they cover many of the standards. I have always received my order with a smile, and it has always been correct. I also feel the cost is reasonable, and the taste is great (IMO). We usually order the Bibimbap, fried chicken, or Jap Chae. If I could wish for one thing, it would be for them to offer the avocado ball appetizer that some other locations have.
Server was amazing! Food was fantastic! The best Korean food I've had outside of Korea. Places claim to have "Korean" food no this place actually does. The chicken reminds me of Kyochon in Korea which was my favorite chicken spot.
Reallllly impressed with this place!! Wasn't really expecting much to be honest. I was just looking for something quick and the menu looked decent. Let me just say this food is GOOD! I got a couple different things and everything was delicious. Definitely get the Korean Corndog (there was no hotdog in it which surprised me but it was sooo good) and the Korean Donut with the dipping sauce, YUM! Loved the Korean BBQ sauce on my chicken strips and the pork potstickers were also great. Definitely worth a try!!
Amazingly delicious! We had the boneless and they were prefectly seasoned and cooked. Crispy, juicy, so full of flavor. Got 10 each, probably should have gotten 20 each because we wanted more. Also finished it off with the donut. Wow!!! the donut was so fresh. Can't wait to go back and get more.
Sat down and ate so much. Loved the Korean street food flavor to everything. This will definitely scratch the Korean food itch.
First time at this restaurant chain and I absolutely loved it. The food here is so good and fresh. I believe all food here is made to order. No more requesting chicken to be fried hard because it's cooked to perfection. The different flavor options are delicious. There is a large chicken selection here, but meats like beef, and pork are also available. This is an Asian (Korean) American style restaurant. I was surprised at the quality of food at this establishment. I definitely would highly recommend trying this restaurant.
The lady at the front counter was very nice and helpful This wasn’t our first time with bonchon so we knew what to get however this is our first time at this location and dining in and they did not disappoint. The presentation was awesome, each wing was crunchy and tasty not to mention the drinks they had at the fountain was also delicious (root beer) Plenty of FREE parking Also have 2-4 EV parking at the grove It was well worth our 1:10hr drive
Since I haven't had much Korean food, I went for the chicken strips, half of the order as soy garlic (bottom of picture), half spicy (top). All were crispy, crunchy, flaky, well sauced, and with white meat chicken. Soy garlic had a lot of familiar flavours like I would have with steamed dumplings. Spicy had nice fire 🔥! If you like habanero, hot chili, and / or ghost pepper, this mouth heat is sure to light you up. Update 08/16/25: I got the Bibimbap with soy garlic chicken, and though I thought it looked plain, the veggies were all fresh, the meats were flavourful, and everything blended perfectly without being weighted down on a hot summer day.
The food is so good, for our first trip we ordered a lot of different things and we loved everything. The spicy is SPICY. The soy garlic potstickers are my favorite. Very clean and plenty of seating.
Very crunchy outside and juicy inside! I really liked the spicy flavor. You gotta eat it asap. It's best to eat the wings right away when it comes out. It gets soggy, and the taste won't be the same if you wait long. I didn't really like tteokbboki since I can make better at home lol🙈. It was too bland for me. It might be just too spicy, without the true flavor of tteokbokki, for many people. The rice cake will be hardened if you leave out for a long time or store it in the fridge.
Our first time trying this place after doing a tour at UD. My son saw their sign on a bus riding pass and we had to try it immediately. We tried the fried rice with bulgogi which was so good. I love the fried dumplings, chicken, and bulgogi fries. My eyes were bigger then my stomach and it was a good amount of food. The cashier was knowledgeable, great service and the food was hot and came out pretty fast. We anticipated coming back again and it made for a great birthday lunch! Loved the black cherry soda too!!
A new Korean fried chicken franchise in Newark, DE. Korean food options are just so so, however, they have really good fried chicken. My favorite is boneless wings (half spicy and half soy garlic). I was craving japchae (stir-fry sweet potato noodle) so I decided to give this another try at bonchon and was kind of disappointed, especially at the price point. Anyhow, if you like fried chicken, definitely try this place! Get the pickled radish cause it’s so refreshing eaten with the fried chicken.

Great Korean fried chicken! We ordered several items and they were all well prepared and tasty. Service was very fast and the staff was very friendly.

I was hesitant because the tacos were soggy but after tasting them omg the sauce and everything came together perfectly best taco I have had in a while The chicken was delicious no complaints at all with those the Korean donuts tasted plain basically like a piece of bread and was a little doughy on the inside The potstickers were the best I ever had crispy flavorful I literally wanna go back and try more of everything Only issue was with the Bulgogi fries The fries were beyond soggy and the meat wasnt edible had to trash the whole thing But with everything else being almost perfect Im not mad at the fries DEFINITELY WILL BE GOING BACK
this is a fast food restaurant located in a modern shopping plaza. Despite being mostly takeout, we had excellent service while dining in. The staff brought our food out to our table very quickly, and it was pretty good. let’s start with the edamame. I was happy to see it was not buried in a mountain of salt as is often in the case. It came in a takeout container, which was great because it was such a huge serving. We ended up taking over half of it home. All the other servings were generous as well. I found the crispy fried chicken to be a little too salty for my taste. But they have a variety of ways of preparing it that might suit your taste. we also tried the Bulgogi beef, which was not as good as a full on Korean restaurant or as you would make it home, but it was pretty good for a fast food establishment. Parking is sample and there is handicap accessibility. The decor was clean and modern but kind of sterile in that fast food kind of way There is not much in the way of vegetarian options. Definitely save room for dessert. The Korean donuts are fun.
Everything was very good! My favorites were the fries and corn. Classic crunch was a bit too salty but overall I would recommend and eat here again!
Fries were served too oily. Bone in chicken wings were good but the boneless “wings” (basically nuggets) were too small and not very flavorful. Kinda pricey.
I have been waiting to try Bonchon for YEARS and was excited to see there was finally one close. This was def in the cut across from Newark High School and has small front room and limited dining side in the back. Place is new so it was very clean! It was however very loud in the store and had a hard time hearing the cashier. Both cashiers were polite and friendly and it didn’t take long for the food to be ready, however we got mixed (soy garlic and spicy) and there was a toothpick in one side but didn’t say what was what so A- for service. They have big holes in the boxes at the top to prevent steam from making the crispy skin moist as much as possible which I appreciated. We, however, took ours to go and by the time we drove 10 min home unfortunately the skin had gotten somewhat soggy but still had crispness to it. The chicken was cooked well (some of the wings were over cooked especially the flats) but not to the point it was inedible it was still good just not as juicy as I’ve seen in some youtube videos where juice runs out like Niagara Falls. They give you drumsticks and both wing parts, flats and drums and again drumsticks were cooked well and still crispy but not as juicy as I was hoping. The flavors were good, the spicy had a little kick to it and the soy was nice and savory. We got fried rice and fries as a side and the froses reminded me of Amore Pizza fries good, crispy but every once in awhile I got the taste or aftertaste I should say of “old oil” like it hadn’t been changed recently. The fried rice has onion and red pepper in it along with f maybe and egg and was fairly dry and need some type of sauce or something to kick it up. All in all I’d definitely come back and I’m hoping to try the korean tacos they have and maybe some kimchi rice and the kimchi Mac and cheese. 3.8/5 or 7.5/10 from me…definitely a must try! I’d recommend eating in to maximize the crunch and juiciness of the chicken tho!
I have been waiting to try Korean Fried chicken, you will not be disappointed. I ordered Soy Garlic with picked radish, the flavor is amazing! Service was great, they offer vegan options, the restaurant is clean and organized. I hope they will open a location down state soon, until then it is worth the drive.

There is no consistency. One day you portions are half the size it was a week ago, one week sauce completely coated on your food and the next week barely any sauce. One day chicken hot and good, the next day chicken tastes spoiled undercooked and cold. Coleslaw nice and creamy good one day the next day a clunky different tasting hot spoiled coleslaw almost like it sat out all night or weeks old.,yuk 🤢 then the cost is to high to gamble if you are getting good food or bad food. SMH 🙄🤦
3 stars because the seasoned fries are BOMB. The fried rice is tasty. But its Korean FRIED chicken and the chicken is rawish. Cutting some of my tenders there were raw parts and MUSHY YUCKY whts suppose to be crispy batter around the chicken. I was reading some of the reviews after i ordered and was waiting for my food. And the folks were right. Something has to be done about that mushy skin and the raw parts inside the tender. Im afraid to order chicken again. But those seasoned fries are delicious! I uploaded a photo its not that great but you can still get the idea.
I ordered chicken wings and drumsticks. I received three huge drumsticks big as turkey drumsticks. Never had anything before such as this. I called the Bonchon to question what type of meat. I was told it was chicken with a lot of batter coating.Still the chicken was huge. I could not eat this, it was abnormal for me. Not everyone associates with this type of whatever. I was unprepared. Ms. Pat
Great chicken, but other food is just alright. Prices are not there, though. I could get 10 wings, drink and fries from Wingstop for $13.99, but Bonchon only gives 10 wings for $14.50. Bonchom does have better wings, but not enough to warrant that price. Especially in this age of inflation and tariffs. Also steamed rice is $3.50; please just go to any Asian restaurant and ask for steamed rice and they will practically give it away.
I will only stick to ordering the wings here. Got the mixed wings, each pieces are big and batter is done very crispy. I have tried all the singnature sauces, flavor is alright but on the heavier side. Overall, no bad if you want Korean style fried wings. Also got the bulgogi fries, but I would not recommend, it was very oily, salty and heavy, will never get fries here again.
We ordered to go and normally get a combo order that comes with fries and a drink. The fries are normally packed in parchment and put in one of their to go boxes. I waited to review because I reached out to their corporate office and after 9 days I have yet to hear a response so here it is: they no longer do combos which is fine so we got the seasoned fries along with 12 drumsticks. We used to get 10 but the server said they don't do that anymore either. They also seem to now charge even more for their food which was already high priced to start with, but I digress.. When we got our to go order the fries were just thrown in a paper bag. It was soaked through in oil and leaking onto the boxes containing our other food. They were soggy and way over seasoned. The chicken itself was cooked how it normally is and tasted ok but a little dry which shook me. Their chicken is never dry but my visit this day was different. I loved coming here but it's apparent we need some time apart. Hopefully they make some changes ..
Extremely overpriced for the quality. The chicken was okay but the pork buns were nothing but a piece of pork fat and cole slaw wrapped in a bun. The food was edible but definitely not worth the over $60 price tag for fried chicken, french fries and horrible pork buns. If you choose to eat here, stick with the chicken, although it's average it better than the other dishes on the menu. Patronize this place only if you like high priced low quality food.

I came back to Bonchon hoping for another good experience after a decent first visit, but this time was a total disappointment. I ordered about $60 worth of food for takeout for my family and asked for some extra Korean BBQ sauce when I picked it up. The woman at the front was pretty rude and told me it would be $1 for the extra sauce. I didn’t mind paying, even though I had just tipped $9, because I wanted to make sure the chicken had enough flavor. What I got was a leaky plastic container with barely any sauce — and honestly, it didn’t even taste good. The chicken itself was super dry and not enjoyable at all. Definitely didn’t live up to the high over inflated price. I'd highly recommend another one of the many other local restaurants that serve way better tasting chicken in the area over Bonchon. 2 out of 5 stars in being very generous for this place.

Incredibly overpriced for the quality, and quantity. Food is extremely inconsistent, no matter the time or day. 10 boneless wings with no sides = $14 in what world?? Dine in environment is not welcoming at all - essentially takeout only. Employees never want to be there, and they take out their frustration on customers at all levels. On multiple occasions I have been in the restaurant within 45 minutes of closing and watched the cashier lock the door, turning customers away. With prices like these, you'd think they could afford good staff. I will likely not be choosing this location again
Boneless wings are Terrible, my mistake was trying the boneless wings at Ten Asian foodhall in Cherry Hill first. Nooo comparison. Sorry I would never recommend their boneless wings.
