This is one of our faves and it’s good to see it back on form and upstairs again after riding out the Covid years. Visited for a birthday dinner in December and chose scallops and sea trout to start and monkfish and sea bass for main. All were delicious and left room for a chocolate delice and a frangipan dessert. Staff were lovely as always. If you want unpretentious fine food in a unique setting with amazing views then you can’t go wrong. They also do good offers that make it excellent value for the quality.

I was going to get their afternoon tea, but the starting price of per person is 27 pounds, so I ended up ordering some desserts here, and they are absolutely tasty! Also their service is really nice. The waitresses are very patient and friendly with you. Plus, you can have amazing view at this restaurant. Overall, it was good experience. I would say it is worth going.

Fancy place! Enjoyed my birthday meal - had smoked salmon, herb fed chicken and sticky toffee pudding! Staff was lovely, noticed it's big birthday and gave us a surprise!!

Went for a birthday lunch. Food superb. Best since records began and worthy of an art form.

Did the Plant based taster menu tonight and the food was amazing, and the wine pairings were really good. Would definitely recommend.

Good: Beautiful restaurant with an amazing window view over the city at night. We were greeted as soon as we came up in the lift and given a choice of tables, and the staff throughout the night were excellent. They were very knowledgeable about the dishes, extremely attentive, and the pacing of the nine-course tasting menu was perfect. Water was constantly topped up before I even had the chance, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organised. The atmosphere was ideal for a date and really made the night. Bad: Some dishes were far too salty, and on a few plates you could actually see the salt on top. One dish wasn’t enjoyable at all, and overall the tasting menu didn’t feel worth £100 per person based on flavour alone. Overall: In spite of the inconsistencies in the food, the service, staff, atmosphere, and overall experience made the night genuinely enjoyable. I’d still return and still rate it five stars because the full experience goes beyond just the food. Thank you 🌹 I'll be back

Absolutely spectacular food in an absolutely spectacular setting with the most amazing views. I am coeliac, and every course of the tasting menu was expertly adapted to be gluten free. I didn't get sick and I was never jealous of the unadapted food. A wonderful night. Although on the expensive end, totally worth it for the quality of what we received.

Superb. We did the 9 course set menu on the chefs table. Loved it. All food was very nice. Good variation. The wine was all lovely. Service was superb. Thoroughly recommend it. We will be back.

We visited SIX Rooftop for our anniversary celebration and it couldn’t have been more special. From the moment you step out of the elevator, the views over the Quayside and river are breathtaking — but it’s the staff who truly make the experience stand out. We started with drinks at the bar where the team made us feel instantly welcome and so comfortable. When we were taken to our table, a thoughtful anniversary card was waiting, and we were upgraded to the Chef’s Table right at the front of the kitchen — such a unique touch. As it was a special occasion, we went all out with the nine-course tasting menu and wine pairings. Our amazing waitress, Eve, was incredibly knowledgeable about every drink, giving full explanations of the pairings, and she went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. Jen, the amazingly talented chef, personally brought out each dish, sharing the story behind the ingredients and explaining the process with real passion and precision. Her attention to detail and ability to make us feel part of the dining journey was outstanding. It was clear that she leads by example — the whole kitchen team worked seamlessly under her guidance to deliver an unforgettable culinary experience. For all you foodies out there — this is a must-visit. Stunning views, exceptional service, and food that is truly unforgettable. You won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed a lovely evening at Six, perfect venue for a romantic dinner with amazing cocktails and delicious food. Big thank you to Madeline, Sophie and Daisy for taking such great care of us throughout the night. Daisy made the perfect cocktail recommendations which were made beautifully. Can’t wait to go back there again!!

Food full of flavour, staff were amazing and attentive and the roof top views over Newcastle were excellent. Menu and wine expensive, but you can see why for the views and superb food!

We visited on a friday evening and were excited to try the tasting menu and wine flight. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and offered drinks in the viewing box looking over the Tyne towards the Millennium Bridge before being taken through to the restaurant. We chose the nine course taster menu and wine selection. The star of the menu was an excellent lamb dish served in a variety of ways with a dark rich blackberry red. Some elements were a little lacking - a wine course missed but then rectified when we asked and perhaps a little over salting on some of the dishes. However, over all, the night and the company were wonderful, as was the venue with its views over the river, which changed by the moment as the light changed and the city slipped towards midnight. In general, everything was really good, except a little oversalted Eggs and Soldiers, a missed wine with one of the courses and a little overpriced Tasting Menu. My genuine rating for SIX Rooftop Baltic is 4.5 . However, as there's no option to rate the place like that, I rate it 5. It's definitely worth to visit this place at least once. Enjoy!

Had the privilege of the chefs table. Incredible food and service. All chefs produced their own course. We did the 9 course taster menu. Carlson the chef was great and super interactive and great fun. Loved it. Best ever. Top night and well worth it.

My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary, tried out the tasting menu, it was amazing! I enjoyed every dish even the cheese course as I am not a cheese board fan. Staff are all very friendly, views at Six are amazing! Would highly recommend!

Delicious food, fantastic views, perfect service and great atmosphere. We enjoyed every part of our meal, the food tasted sublime and it was obvious to us that the ingredients were high quality. We attended during their August special, so it’s difficult for us to speak on price but we would have paid double what we did pay. Service was attentive, not invasive and very helpful. Wine selection was good, and well priced too. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Fabulous. If we could give six stars we would. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the food was fabulous and just enough to leave you wanting a mouthful more. Great view from lounge bar and ladies toilet. Hard to know what we enjoyed the most but the beef and bread courses were both brilliant. If we lived locally we would be a regular.

We had a great lunch, will definitely be back. We had the plant taster menu, would highly recommend, every dish was packed with flavour, we didn’t want to eat it too quickly it tasted that good.

Nice place to chill and look over the Tyne. Been here a couple of times for wine and bar snacks. They do full meals in the restaurant which we will try at some point.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant - as soon as we walked out of the lift, the two members of staff looked after us superbly. The food was excellent, the service was second to none and the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend and we will definitely go back there next time we're in Newcastle. Thank you to the staff for a lovely day ❤️

Lovely service staff and excellent food, especially for the price if you come for the lunch special. Absolutely in love with the focaccia they made in house as well. There's clearly a lot of thought put into their food, and has a bit of a modernist flare, very fitting of a restaurant being on the top of a museum and exhibition space. We came here for a little wedding lunch, and they gave the wedding couple some celebratory fudge on a plate which was really sweet. Will come again!

Great experience very well located inside the Baltic building, excelence cousine and very professional staff. The price is good, regarding to the quality of service and food. You can enjoy an amazing views of the city centre and the river. 100% recommended.

Fabulous meal with the family. Great food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The friendly staff were very helpful and accomodating. I would recommend this place. The restaurant with a view ! Been here on several occasions, for meals in the restaurant, afternoon tea and drinks. Great views of the Sage and bridges along the River Tyne from the seating area with sofas. Whether you go for the taster menu, meal deals or specials you will enjoy the experience. If you are in a budget, go for the early evening meal deal. Failing that, just enjoy a drink or afternoon tea with a view. Enjoy your visit.

Great food, service and views. Did the bar menu which was excellent quality amd good value for money. It's been a while since visiting and really enjoyed it. The taste of six menu looks worth a visit too.

Beautiful location, Staff are polite and professional and very helpful. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is excellent, plenty of taste and full of flavour throughly enjoyed. Excellent views of Newcastle and the River Tyne plenty of photographic opportunities. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Six is honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The waiters are friendly and always there to help and the food is stunning. The layout of the restaurant is also impressive as it provides a direct view into the kitchen where you can see your meal being prepared. The only downside to this restaurant is the price although as mentioned earlier the food is amazing and I believe it warrants the price. You pay for what you get and here you get a stunning service and delicious food.

Have always wanted to come here but needed a good enough excuse since it is fancy. So for our anniversary we went. It was amazing, the staff were really friendly and very chatty. The food was exquisite and the views really made the restaurant. Fantastic will visit again for another special occasion.

The service was second to none. The atmosphere was refined. The views and decor were stunning. The food was soooo good, particularly for only £54 at dinner.

What an amazing place, the views over Newcastle across the Tyne and Gateshead are amazing. The atmosphere is so chilled for such an upmarket venue. The staff were excellent, friendly polite and just couldn't be more helpful. The food service was a little slow though and we had starters arriving without the main course. However that aside it is definitely worth a visit.

What can I say! This was truly amazing!! We had a table for 8 booked on Sunday 14th May for the champagne afternoon tea. The food was amazing and delicious, all homemade. The scones still warm and the selection of desserts were to die for. We had exceptional service from start to finish from all the staff and the views were the icing on the cake! Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing views, great staff, impeccable service and a full plant based menu 😎 which goes well beyond avo-toast 😆 and focusses on veggies, grains, all so creatively cooked and presented

Came here for a friend's wedding reception. Had a posh and delicious ham and pickle, a to-die-for delicious perfectly cooked steak and chips, and one of them fruity frozen ice things plus lashings of wine and champagne. Can't recommend more highly especially for a wedding reception! I doubt it's cheap though! 🤤🤑💰💰💰🤑

Wonderful. We chose from the a la carte menu. Everything was piping hot ( I can't stand lukewarm food), beautifully presented and delicious . Staff were attentive, our server had a good knowledge of wine to accompany our meals. Beautiful views over the Tyne . Well worth a visit

I’ve been there for a six course dinner. The food was impeccably delicious and super tasty cocktails. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing is that, the best view at the restaurant is for the bar while who goes for a dinner looses the beautiful view of the quayside river. Anyway , happy to say we’ll be back for the bar menu :)

I couldn’t recommend Six more highly! Every dish we tried was not only delicious but beautifully presented! The vegan options were especially impressive: creative, varied, and absolutely bursting with flavour. It’s rare to find a menu where plant-based dishes are this exciting! What truly sets Six apart, though, is the service. It was, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve ever experienced. I visited for my graduation lunch, and the team went above and beyond to make it special, with a complimentary glass of champagne (and an alcohol-free version too!). Our server, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, was exceptional: warm, attentive, and thoughtful to the very end, even calling the elevator for us as we left. The location is the cherry on top - stunning views and a wonderful atmosphere. If you’re considering a visit, don’t hesitate. Book a table at Six as soon as you can. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

Had the 9 taster menu was absolutely fabulous . The staff from entering the Baltic and into the restaurant were so friendly everyone spoke with a smile . Restaurant staff were so attentive and they my were all so friendly . Would definitely be back but maybe just for 6 dishes as we were so full 😂

I went there for a work Christmas party. I was really taken away. The staff was very brilliant, paying attention to details, making sure we were satisfied. The view was beautiful, the picture I've taken doesn't give it justice. I would really recommend it.

Beautiful view from the box, although the environment inside the box was quite duly. The food were very good, well presented and taste nice. They served a good range of cocktails 🍸also. Customer service was very friendly and speedy.

Stunning views, particularly from the ladies bathroom. Food was delicious, shame the fish was slightly overcooked. Good cocktail too. Nice area to walk off the food afterwards if you have over indulged like me.

I’m very been here in the past & it was nice, over all we had a lovely evening, the food was really interesting & well cooked & presented, the wine was not chilled & our lovely friendly waitress went away & chilled it with another ready to go should we have ordered a 2nd bottle (which we did). The venue could really do with a good shoosh, it doesn’t have that quality feel about it & at £320.00 for two I’d expect table cloths at the very least. They have the food & service spot on but the venue is way overdue a good remodel for the prices they are charging.

We only went there as we were intrigued by the building, we noticed the view point, so decided to check it out. As we entered the young girl on the front desk was so helpful, she gave a leaflet and explained everything about the place. So as was explained by the young girl we started at the top and worked our way down. We started at the viewing point, which was spectacular, worked our way down some floors wasn't our taste but were interesting. These floors were exhibitions. We didn't have time to visit every floor unfortunately. So question is again would I go back? I think I would as it was interesting and it's free to enter.

Situated on the top floor of The Baltic Centre. We went at 9pm so the river & city views were pretty. Shame that the Tyne Bridge wasn't illuminated. The food here is very tasty & the sauces that we had were lush. 2 noteworthy dishes were the Ham Hock Terrine starter & Slow Cooked Beef Shoulder. Service was friendly & efficient. Prices were approx £45 a head & please be aware that a 10% service charge gets automatically added to your bill.

Food and waiter service were both exceptional and could not be faulted, however, the time between courses was unusually long resulting in a 4 hour visit (being the only guests there). Fine tuning needed on the time between courses, besides that superb.

Amazing views from the top of the Baltic. Very friendly and attentive staff.Great ambience. Limited choice of food during the daytime. Just one each of meat, fish or veggie in the starter and main course. Food was very tasty but salt levels could be lower. Premium rates as expected. Nice experience.

Expected more after online reviews. We ordered medium rare steak but got rear, but must say the steak was really good quality and tasted good. View 👍 but again as I said I expected more after online reviews.

The view in the “viewing room” was great and made a good pre meal drink atmosphere. However once we were seated at our table for the supper menu- the room was very cold. Thought about putting my coat back on. Lights kept getting dimmed then put back on. The servers were not clear or descriptive about the dishes only read the menu descriptions which were on hand anyways. The food highly disappointing, we had a potatoe dish that came out slightly raw and cold. Nothing on the menu when served was a WOW, mmmm or I’d have that again. At £70 a person in a cold unwelcome environment is a no from me.

M
Mark Robertson

It's depicted as a 9 course menu but three are canapés, some bread and butter and petit fours. All the food is well presented and the staff are excellent but with the venison being a stand out dish ,the rest is nothing of note. It was fun to do as have experienced a lot of tasting menus but would I recommend, regretfully probably not. £££

The setting is awesome, with beautiful views, but the food and atmosphere weren't up to scratch. The food was nice, don't get me wrong, but not the quality I would have expected. We found the menu to be limited, and the food was extremely rich. The atmosphere was rather impersonal, cold even, which I suppose suits some people but not us. Staff was nice enough but they were very busy. They could probably do with a couple more on shift. It was nice to try it, but we wouldn't go back. Without the views, it's its nothing out of the ordinary, unfortunately.

R
Robert King

Terrible, worst evening meal taster menu ever. Service was great thanks to Madeline. The food apart from the desert was awful. Change the menu, this one does not work. The flavour combinations are just plain wrong. Why ruin a perfectly good oyster by drowning it in Limoncello? Stop charring / burning your scallops it makes them bitter and inedible etc etc , yuk!
