Jonathan is a man! Best pizzas in Los Angeles! I live in San Francisco and every time I come to Los Angeles. I always stop by to enjoy Jonathan’s pizza. . You can tell he is master of his craft. Ingredients are all very fresh and he makes it all in house! Dough is very airy and light! If you are looking for best pizzas in LA look no further! Thumbs up!

Dined here last night, absolutely fantastic. One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. The chefs came out and spoke to people about their wonderful dishes. Wine list is impressive as well. So glad we found this place.

Our first visit, and we give it five stars. All six of us delighted by our entrees. An interesting and very tasty shared bruschetta appetizer with pink beans and shrimp. Desserts all very good, but the bread pudding with vanilla gelato was a standout. We’ll be back!

While waiting to check into my Airbnb, I stumbled upon the cutest restaurant, Il Barone. Honestly, it’s some of the very best Italian food and pizza I’ve ever had! The family who runs it is just as wonderful as the food itself. Highly recommend—buon appetito!

I walked in greeted with a smile by a woman who I believe was the owner, and placed a to-go order for 2 pizzas. Little did I know that I walked in 5 minutes prior to closing time… Thankfully this was just enough time to get 2 of the best pizzas we’ve had in a while. Nothing like fresh brick oven pizza made the right way. Especially after spending the day on the beach. We got a pepperoni and a calabrese, and we’re not disappointed. Awesome vibe. Great staff and even better pizza. Even gave us plates to-go. Can’t wait to get back here and order a meal inside. Thank you again

I won’t claim to be an expert, but I believe what il Barone has is something special. The restaurant itself is very pretty, and has a great view of the trees and the beach. The service is good. There is a visual pride and excitement in the wait staffs energy and delivery of the menu’s offerings. They know their selections well. The food itself is far better than most Italian food I’ve had previously. I’ve been to a wide range of Italian restaurants both cheap and expensive across a few states, and I believe they often suffer from Americanized, overly simple, overly sweet, one dimensional flavors. Not the case here, the food was complex and flavorful and unique. Well done.

il Barone Ristorante is the kind of place that reminds you why family-owned restaurants matter. Tucked along West Coast Highway in Newport Beach, it’s warm, unpretentious, and genuinely Italian at heart. Donatella runs the front of house with so much hospitality, while her husband is in the kitchen making the breads and pasta from scratch. They even produce fresh pasta for other restaurants — which tells you everything about the quality. We ordered: Gnocchi ripieni di formaggi Lasagna Radiatori al funghi e salsiccia Pepperoni pizza Facci ri Veccia (il Barone specialty) Everything felt comforting and thoughtfully made, but the standout for me was the Facci ri Veccia. If you love something cheesy, rich, and a little different from your typical pasta order, that’s the one. It’s indulgent in the best way. The lasagna tasted classic and balanced, the radiatori had depth from the mushrooms and sausage, and even the pepperoni pizza felt elevated because of the house-made dough. They also do Wine Wednesday, which makes it an easy midweek dinner spot. This isn’t flashy, influencer-bait Italian. It’s real, family-run, made-with-care Italian — and that’s exactly why it stands out.

One of our friends had a 2 year old and they were extremely accommodating from ensuring a booster seat and making sure his pasta came out first. Food was incredible as all pastas and bread are made in house. They really make you feel like you’re part of the family from the minute you walk in. Also they make their own lemon cello, which was also amazing. Again it is authentic, most of the rest of the world has about ⅒ the sugar we do in the desserts, the canoli is also amazing. Will be dining here again
