Bartender very friendly, knowledgeable about all kinds of drinks, and the food menu. Seafood risotto was to die for! Will be turning soon. Prices a bit high, but good, quality food!

Had a fantastic meal and the service was exceptional. Sarah was fantastic, only complaint was the manager wears entirely to much cologne

Just had breakfast here and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. There was only one server at the time but Josh did an excellent job of taking our requests and getting our food to us in a really short amount of time. The portions were huge and the food was hot and delicious.

This was my first time here on the 4th of July. I wanna say. I have read these reviews and my experience is not what these 1 or 2 star reviews say like stay away. The service was great. I enjoyed my chicken Alfredo. I say don't stay away. Come here and eat. It's a bit more expensive however it is worth every penny. It seems these days people want to complain just to complain. Get over it

We live in Binghamton and went to PJ Clarke's before an event at Tioga Downs. We had never been to Clarke's before. This place was excellent. I will definitely be making the trip back! Underrated jewel of a restaurant in the So. Tier. Our party had the steaks, chicken, and seafood. The sides were also excellent. All was so delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves. The staff was gracious, attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back

Have visited several times. Pork chop is my favorite. Nice restaurant for the price and location. Friendly staff. Recommend the chocolate cherry martini as well.

I had attended National Oyster Friday and what a special. We tried an oyster bloody mary and fried oysters. The diablo zangy type sauce for the fried was amazing. Then I dived into some savage blondes (with my wife's permission of course). Every oyster place has blue points, but it was nice to see a variety! Love the marble bar. We met Tom & Mark who were slinging drinks. The place was packed! Stayed for another shooter and off to gamble & loose money, but our stomachs were the winners here.

10/10 would absolutely eat here again. They took our reservation 30 minutes to close. The food was absolutely incredible. I can't normally eat bread, but had no problem with their rolls. And our waitress was so kind about the amount of bread I was so excited to be able to eat. This was a birthday dinner for me and I am thrilled we had our waitress at this restaurant. Happy dinning everyone:)

Absolutely wonderful! Really, I can't recommend it enough. I saw none of the issues mentioned in other reviews, my wife's Delmonico steak was "incredibly good" and the chicken I had was excellent. The waitress was very kind and notably patient with some other older guests. Five stars and we'll definitely be back.

This was our first time here. My fiancé and I are visiting family in the NY area and planned this outing for two birthdays. Cassie was our server and she was AMAZING… She was very attentive, honest, knew the menu very well and was able to help with suggestions. We just loved her! The food was great (everyone loved their dishes/appetizers). I had a cocktail and that was good, too. We would definitely go back the next time we visit. 🙂

Excellent service. We were seated quickly and had a really attentive and friendly waitress. Our food came out fast and was piping hot. Our entrees were delicious. They made us amaretto coffee to go with a delicious cherry cobbler for dessert.

Service was ok. But most of the food wasn’t too good. The clam chowder was good but my lobster roll had no flavor and my dining partner’s chicken was not too good. It was also very cold in the dining room.

Our server was great, very friendly. I got the flat iron steak, mashed potatoes and haystack onions. The flavor was really good and I didn't need a steak knife to cut the meat, which is good because I wasn't given one. The food seemed warm, not hot and cooled to less than room temperature/cold only a few bites in. I am looking forward to enjoying the leftovers, though, which will at least be hot. This is the first time my meal has not be hot, but my husband said it's a regular occurence with his meals there, but he continues to take me there because I have always enjoyed my meal. It wasn't even a full house, but even if it had been people are paying for a hot meal, not a cold one.

The service was good. The hostess was attentive. The appetizer I had was calamari and it was extremely salty but the marinara sauce helped cut the salt and I am a saltaholic so it was really salty. The haystack onion rings were overly greasy. The prime rib that I had came out rare just like I like it and it was excellent however I did not care for the au jus sauce. My wife had the rotisserie chicken, she thought it was very good. My wife also had good brussel sprouts and spinach and she got those were excellent. The server left and evaluation form however there was no pen provided initially, and there was no easily found box to put the evaluation form in. Maybe they didn't really want us to give an evaluation? The rotisserie dinner and the prime rib dinner both with two sides included cost $65 and change. We had no alcoholic beverages just water. When we try this restaurant again? Quite possibly.

Went on a Saturday night about 6:30 not busy Service was very good some items are better than others fried calamari was tender and cooked good Ruben was done well prime rib found it to be a little tough. Burger was adequate chicken pot pie was enjoyable.

I've been here a few times over the years as I have family who goes to the casino and likes to take us to eat here. Honestly it's kind of a drag; the food overall isn't great but isn't awful, but the service is slow even when it's not busy. The wait staff is nice but forgets to bring drinks or is not attentive. To go more into detail on the food, the quality varies depending on what you get and between different components of a single meal. Seems like any meat and seafood is prepared well, but vegetables less so. When I ordered the vegetable risotto, I thought it was bland, and the asparagus and tomatoes were over-cooked but the brussels sprouts weren't cooked enough. I ordered the seared scallops last time and the scallops were excellent as was the salmon I tried from one of my family member's plates, and the crab cakes are also amazing. The coleslaw side was not bad but very pedestrian, like the stuff you can get in a tub at the grocery store. I really enjoyed the whiskey bread pudding and the cheesecake, the key lime pie was just too sweet and one-note for me - all the desserts are big and very sweet, so I think it's best to share. I guess it's a good choice considering what's available at Tioga Downs, especially factoring in the more sophisticated atmosphere here compared to the restaurants on the casino side, but I myself would not choose to come here were it not for family obligations.

My fish was so greasy it was disgusting, my bf got prime rib he said is was tasteless. No refill on our drinks the whole hr we were there we sat next to our dirty dishes from the appetizer plates ect... the whole time .We will Never ever go back here for dinner ,I'm guessing it's more of a burger (lunch place ) than a nice dinner place! So disappointed

I cannot stress enough how good the staff were. I have no complaints with the staff. The food... Weapons grade bread sticks hard enough to drive nails and commit crimes. The soups were good however arrived warm but not hot. The entries arrived unevenly heated akin to what I would expect from a microwave. In short; not worth the pricetag, grab a bite at the truck stop.

Stayed over at casino and ate dinner there last night, the Thursday special is a turkey dinner. Flavorless gravy, large chunks of turkey, thinking it is a formed breast of sorts. Mashed potatoes and stuffing were mush, Brussels were the best out of it. Did not eat the dinner. Crab cake was good as were fries. Wait staff was very good!!

D
Duane McHenry

The service was good, but the food was not. They neglected to clean the shrimp, leaving the vein in (gross…) and tails on, and the broccoli was dirty. The swordfish was flavorless and served on plain white rice, and unevenly cooked. The calamari was super rubbery, the only saving grace was the server was very friendly and did a good job.

We made reservations, took over an hour to get our food. The wait isn't what bothered us. During our wait our waitress apologized, once saying we'll comp dessert. Then as the hr passed said the manager will come by and speak with you. We did not ask for this. Our food finally arrived and it was very good. After we get our check the manager came to our table, with an attitude saying "You want to talk to me?" I said no the waitress said a manager was gonna talk to us about the long wait. The manager proceeded to tell me she checked our order and from the time the waitress placed the order and it left the kitchen it was 40 mins. Now would there be anything else? When the waitress came back with our receipt I told her she put us in an uncomfortable situation, she said oh must have been miscommunication. We never got the comp dessert she promised.

D
Dueling Diggers

Meal was underwhelming and not worth the price. Prime rib was thin and flavorless. No au jus, just brown gravy. Thought that was odd. Shore special, though large, was also flavorless - no garlic or seasoning. Too much money for low quality. Waitress was friendly and attentive.

M

We come to the hotel and casino quite often and usually have a wonderful experience. This time we did not...Both of us ordered the fish & chips and the fish was soggy and we could not finish it. Also, the menu seems vague about what comes with a side and what doesn't and then after getting back to our room we had no silverware or napkins and had to go back to get them. I know that sounds petty, but I have problems with my legs and it is painful and difficult to walk

J
Jon Snipes

I was staying here for work and there's not much around so I figured I'd give this a try. I should have driven somewhere. Staff was very attentive but the meal was pretty mediocre at best. Calamari was flavorless, the short ribs could have cooked a few more hours and the only thing crunchy on the apple cobbler crumb topping was the almonds. Not worth the price.

S
Scott Battle

Went with a party of 7. General consensus was very mediocre for the cost. Felt like cafeteria quality meal. Service was unmentionable as well. Fairly long wait, and not attentive. Ran out of water, forgot to bring parmsean cheese until half my meal was already eaten.

T
Tim Gwardyak

We ordered prime rib. Both orders came out completely overcooked and had no seasoning at all on them. We sent them back. Apparently, there has been issues with the current cook staff.

Have never written a review before but was very disappointed in the experience we had on New Year’s Eve. There was specials advertised online but figured that the usual menu would be offered. Unfortunately this was not the case. While our server was very pleasant the food was not at all what I expected for 30 dollars a plate. Of the very limited options (less than 10 four of which of those were appetizers) I had chosen prime rib which would have been okay if more than a quarter of it was edible. There was so much fat that I left the majority on the plate. My husband decided on a salmon dish that was ok. We don’t have high standards and are fairly easy to please. When we realized that the menu was so much smaller than the usual We would have just left given that there wasn't even an option for vegetarian/salad but we had made reservations so I felt we had to stay. There are plenty of options for food at the casino given the price and the equal quality of the food at the various other dining options won’t be choosing this again.

Server was very nice but overall service was super slow. Took at least 10 minutes before someone came to the table after being seated. Food was sub par especially for the price. The filet lacked seasoning. Thank goodness for salt and pepper. The seafood risotto was terrible. Ambiance was nice. Will not dine here again.

D
Diane Zoll

He ordered the seafood pasta platter, said it was the worst he ever had. The muscles were cold, the shrimp was tough, very watery sauce. About a 1/2 cup of water from sauce on plate. I ordered a petite filet mignon medium rare, came to me very bloody, asked for them to cook it just a bit more, came back 20 minutes later with a well done steak. I ordered a White Claw, brought me a can and no glass. He ordered a Manhatten ($15!), with all ice, not much alcohol. The whole experience was not nearly what I expected.

We had a reservation for 5 pm. Which was when were seated . We were served our dinner at 6:25. When I asked why our food was taking so long, I was told that nobody told the hostess that there should be no walk ups, therefore the kitchen was very busy. Regarding the food, the board at the entrance and the description by the waitress was that included 3 large scallops, but when it was served she told my guest that the board and description she read was wrong and it only contained 2 scallops. I ordered prime rib, which I have there before, and when it came it had a hunk of pure fat that was at least 25% of my serving of meat. I have had plenty of prime rib and even prepared it myself, and I expect some fat on it but this was a huge hunk 3/4 of an inch thick on my piece of meat, no cutting around it or anything, just a hunk of fat. I can’t imagine a professional chef serving that to a customer, nor can I imagine management not honoring the advertisement of 3 scallops , just “sorry “when 3 parts of the meal were all ready served (especially after waiting an hour for the first part)

Service was friendly but bread and appetizers came out together. then 5 minutes later our entree’s came out we had to tell them we were not ready. The place was so loud it was like a dive bar atmosphere. And the food itself was very low quality and after examining it and taking my leftovers and showing some other people, we realize the steak meat is synthetic man-made beef and fish at high quality prices !

We had reservations @ 8pm. When we arrived, we waited 10 minutes for a hostess to come to the front desk. She wasn’t friendly at all & she said the kitchen was behind so we won’t be seated for 30 minutes. We ended up waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time. Then, we waited 15 minutes at our table before our waitress came over to get our drink order. Waited another 15 minutes for her to bring the bottle of wine. There was an awful stench throughout the restaurant for some reason as well. We heard the table next to us complain about their food so we were hesitant to order big meals. I ordered the Mac and cheese which looked good at first, but it was SOOO SALTY it was completely inedible and the bacon was raw. 🤢 The breadsticks were like hockey pucks, could’ve broken a tooth on them. The steak was okay but the potato seemed like it had been left out for 2 days. When we told the waitress about the food quality, she just took it off the table and didn’t offer a substitution. We were only charged for the wine and the steak thankfully, but still an awful experience especially for Valentine’s Day. 0/10 do not recommend.

For a high-end restaurant at a casino, I must report my mediocre and lackluster meal. My wife and I experience wedge salad and 3 onion soup with prime rib. I have eaten @PJ'S in NYC so I was excited but the meal just fell short.

S
Shayne Jennison

Service was awful, food was awful, just an overall not great establishment. Had reservations and didn’t get seated for half an hour after our reservation time. Ordered the Chicken Marsala with mushrooms and got a piece of overcooked chicken drenched in a white gravy with no mushrooms. Marsala is a wine sauce and this was very obviously some random gravy they had in the kitchen and tried to pass off as marsala. It took over an hour for our food to get to the table and about half an hour for us to even get drinks.

E
Eileen Coursen

Friendly Wait staff but unfortunately inedible food. Paid $160 for four meals that should have never left the kitchen; dried out hangar steak, a chicken pot pie with no signs of gravy and two lobster rolls served on stale buns and filled with a watery, thinned mayo sauce covering what looked like a pile of squirming pink worms because they used only the teeny tiny little legs to stuff the roll, not a piece of actual lobster meat in sight. If the taste of the food wasn't enough to make you lose your appetite, the look of those squirmy milky legs was enough to make you gag. The fries served with the meals were so terribly over-salted and hard that they were inedible. Just horrendous. Wish I would have taken a photo because mere words can't truly convey the unappetizing, gag-worthy look of those meals.

EDIT: After they reached out to me on this review I called the restaurant. I spoke to someone who took my information and said the manager would call me back. That was a week ago, no call yet... they seem to respond here to look like they care, when they really don't. We went here for New Year's Eve and definitely won't go back. I'd like to say I have bartended for over 10 years, and enjoy eating at high end restaurants, so maybe my expectations were too high. But our meal was almost $500 with gratuity. For starters they do not have a cocktail menu. I thought we weren't given one by mistake, so I went to the bar to ask for one. The bartender was sassy about it and said she can make 300 drinks so they don't need a cocktail menu. Jon Taffer is somewhere shaking his head over this one... Back at the table we ordered a martini with blue cheese olives and a mojito. They didn't have the ingredients to make either one. I ordered a French 75, the waitress came back saying they can't make that either because they don't have Chambord. Chambord doesn't go into a French 75. When she came back I told her what goes into the drink. It took a while and I saw three people behind the bar trying to figure out my cocktail. I did get it though. We went here over Moxie, P.S., and McCoy's because they advertised beef wellington. When we asked about it the waitress said the marketing department messed up and pictured beef wellington, but the dish was actually different. We ordered it anyway. Three beef special entrees arrived cold. I didn't want to make a fuss after the cocktail incident so I didn't say anything. Two others in my party felt the same way. It wasn't until the car ride home we realized we all had cold entrees. We got two desserts, and they were both awful. The key lime pie had a nasty texture, and the crust was full of cinnamon. The creme brulee was so sweet it was inedible. Our server was friendly and positive, but our dinner was just awful and I will not go back here again.

Cast iron Mac and cheese was so burnt the taste was nauseating and would not leave my mouth. The waitress kindly took it back and brought us a new dish, which ended up not being burnt, but cold. The $42 “10 oz” filet was smaller than a 1/2 pound burger. The “18 oz” rib eye was not only not 18oz but so dry it crumbled. The rib eye was also supposed to be cooked medium rare but ended up being very well done. And the lobster tail was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It was a very strange brown color and looked like a mangled mess. Also, the vegetables that came with the meal were also cold. It was honestly terrifying to even look at. We received our meals and waited 15 minutes before I had to flag down our server. We weren’t asked once how the meal was and were not brought any of the toppings or condiments that were supposed to come with our meals. After staring at our plates for 30 minutes, not touching or eating a single bite, I finally asked for the manager to come over. The manager proceeded to tell us “I’ll have to talk to my chef” and did not ONCE apologize or ask if he can compensate for our terrible food in any way. The worst $178 that has ever been spent in my entire life. Not only was the food repulsive but the service was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, especially from a “manager”. Never stepping foot in PJ Clarke’s again.

Stopped in May 12 for dinner. Restaurant was pretty empty. Seated on outer rim of restaurant near entrance for no apparent reason. Host appeared to just be going through the motions. Waiter was nice but seemed to be involved in other things all over the restaurant. Had burgers which were just okay but hadn't even finished when waiter wanted to know if we wanted dessert. When we said no, the bill appeared very quickly. Seemed we were being rushed out of an empty retauarnt at 8 PM although it was still open. We've been in a lot of restaurants all over the country but this was the most bizarre experience ever!

I have been here twice. Once about 2 years ago, had a big hair in my food so they brought it back. Not a big deal I've worked in food service for 29 years it happens. Went back again today, and just a huge dissappointment. Ordered the vegetarian risotto. It cost 18$; it was supposed to have brussel sprouts, asparagus, broccolini, and carrots, and parmesan cheese. No cheese, no broccolini, and no carrots. Literally a giant dish of luke warm gruel with 4 brussel sprouts and 3 asparagus sprigs. How ridiculous, at least the server was nice.

This was the worst poorly planned and manage place in a long time. My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a night no dinner reservation a available which was no big we went off property and had a great time at The Cellar in owego(kiddos to them) our room came with a coupon for breakfast. We went down and there was a line of approx 15 groups in front of us. There was not a hostess greeting people, I waited several minutes for someone and finally asked about making a breakfast reservation as the line was not social distanced at all. I was told they did not take reservations for breakfast but we could order to go. Which we did (after waiting 10 more minutes) we went back to our room and walked back down 20 minutes later to pick up the food. Got all the way back to our room and several things were missing from the order. We had to go back down to get them. By the time we got back to our room again the breakfast was cold. In addition parts were under cooked. I spoke to the manager who had no excuse.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Saturday 6pm reservation. Waited and waited and waited to finally receive watered down alcoholic beverages... Cold food...meats, seafood, burgers, vegetables and potatoes. Soggy bun on burger, under cooked scallops. Lobster tail served about 30 minutes after surf n turf steak. Waitress was pleasant but seemed to be overwhelmed. Manager was pleasant and attempted to rectify the issues. Owner of the casino came around to make his presence known but truly did not care that we were not happy.

This is the first review I have ever left on a restaurant. It was so bad I felt I had to say something. Four of us came for drinks and dinner. Not one of us ate our meal and we still paid the $178 tab as well as tipped over 20%. The manager acknowledged the food and service was bad and said he would “talk with his chef”. Absolutely awful.

W
William Slocum

Food is decent. Servers are poorly trained and second rate, especially compared to their other locations. Manager is combative and condescending, which you see reinforced in the servers. For the money just hit one of the other options and gamble the savings. At least the casino offers the hope of something positive.

Had dinner with a friend last night. Ordered the Grilled mahi mahi tacos. Sounded amazing on the menu. The mahi mahi had no grill marks it was luke warm lack any kind of seasoning tasted like it was microwaved. The tortilla wasn't corn it was a small dried out flour tortilla. After searching I did find one small spring of cilantro and a tiny piece of avocado and a dash of Chipotle. And no lime was ever found. The sweet potato fries may have been ok if they weren't cold. My friends Clarke burger was also disappointing. They weren't busy so no excuse there. Not at all what we had hoped for. They say you get what you pay for. Not this time. Disappointing..... Looking at other reviews today October 8th noticed management reach out to others I am the only one that didn't get a response. Wrote my review on August. Just another reason not to go back

J
Jiaxu Song

Although the service was decent, we waited over 40mins to have our starters. The shrimp and lobsters noodle had a clump of fish bones in it and they stuck in my throat. Although the meal was no charge, I am still suffering from the fish bone. Furthermore, their medical tea was occupied somewhere else. So I had to go to emergency room by myself. I am still in er at this moment.

Seated for 30 minutes with no drinks.. Took them 45 minutes before they took our order. We were there for 2 hours for bland food. In the two hours our waitress came by 4 times and wasn't pleasant. Zero chance I would ever eat there again.

From previous reviews maybe PJ's needs a change in management! So, let me say that my wife and I have dined at PJ's 3 time in the last 6 months or so. The first two times everything was quite good, we were pleased. Then we again ate there last Sunday night, 5-19 and it was not very busy. Awful service and meal for me. My wife's meal was fine We waited much too long for our waitress and had to ask for her service. I had to request a water refill. Now my meal. I ordered the Sunday Seafood Special for $35.00, way overpriced. Someone other than our waitress brought out our meals and brought out my incomplete Sunday dinner. Lacking in coleslaw, butter for the clams/muscles, tarter sauce for the fish and ketchup for the fries. These I had to request. The clams, muscles and scallops were on the same plate as the fried fish and the fish was swimming in the clam/muscle fluids. The clams/muscles on top were cold and the fried fish was way too greasy. The only good part of my meal was the scallops which were quite good. I was kind of surprised our waitress charged us the entire cost. I believe you REQUIRE a Gordon Ramsey intervention NOW!!! My wife and I decided to return to P.J. Clark's in December to see if anything has changed and I am quite please with the entire experience! I won't go into any details but we are very satisfied and will see if this continues in the future...to be continued.

I very rarely post a negative review but this was by far the worst dining experience we have had in years. We waited over 30 minutes for a table even though the there were empty tables. We were greeted immediately but waited another 15 min for our drinks. The food came very timely but that is where it all went south. The food was tasteless and not hot. Maryland Crab Cakes were supposed to come with haystack onions but they were missing. I ordered French Toast and received a waffle. I opted to keep it as we had already spent way too long on this dining experience. The waffle was supposed to come with strawberries... they provided a 2 oz soufflé cup. This didn’t cover half the waffle. The waffle was good but hot. I ordered a side of sausage which was tasteless and the menu indicated 3 pieces, I received 2 and was charged for 3. Bottom line we will not be returning

L

My sister and I made reservations to surprise my mom for her birthday. I specifically indicated this in the reservation, hoping maybe for a fun surprise. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and suggested by our waitress. She took about 20 minutes to ask us for a drink order, but we forgave it because she came over in the beginning and quickly acknowledged us. My mom was brought the wrong burger, and when we very politely told our waitress, her attitude changed from helpful and pleasant to rude and short the rest of the meal, like we bothered her. No apology or acknowledgement of her mistake, either. My corned beef sandwich was at most mediocre and my vegetarian sister, who had only one option on the menu, has been sick all morning from the grease in her flavorless vegetable risotto. (Side note: we noticed after we got our crab cake that we could have ordered it with a side for only $2 more, which our waitress didn’t tell us about, but she did tell the table next to us.) And nothing for our mom’s birthday, even though I have read that other people have had a surprise from the staff for theirs. Listen, my standards are pretty basic, I just ask for good service, good food and decent prices. Unfortunately we got none of these at PJ Clarke’s and won’t be going back. I get better meals and service at Taco Bell.

The portions are ridiculously small and high priced. Example, $42. Ish for 4 scallops, 50.00 for a tiny piece of steak. Read that menu good, a child portion is what you will receive! Never again. Go to a dinner then go gamble. Or your gambling starts when you eat there.
