Our waiter was terrific and very responsive. The food was very good with one small problem. The lobster Mac and Cheese didn’t seem to have any lobster. We couldn’t see it and couldn’t taste it. Our waiter said he would add more lobster. Instead, a manager came out to argue with us about it. They did take it off the bill. The menu is creative and a lt of fun. The live music was terrific. The female vocalist was wonderful. Overall, a great evening.
One of the best at this resort. The food was cooked perfectly and good flavors. The presentation and ambiances enhanced the experience.
This place never disappoints. Was here 2 years ago and it was good. Came back this time with my husband and we ended up dining twice during our vacation. Staff were very nice and friendly, food was superb, and everything came out on time. The manager, Antonio, was very accommodating. We watched the sunset from our table. View was amazing. Will highly recommend to our friends and family.
Despite awarding the cuisine a five-star rating, I must note the 42oz lobster was disappointingly overcooked and chewy. Reflecting on the experience, adhering to our original plan would have been wise; it would have reduced our bill from $590 to $350. Apart from the unfortunate necessity to occasionally discard pieces of the lobster, the remainder of our dining experience was flawless.
Fantastic location and superb service on the beach at Vidanta. Unfortunately the sea bass was quite dry. The salmon was excellent with a wonderful ginger sauce. The dessert was delicious. The wine list is extensive with a lot of great suggestions. The service is absolutely top notch. You can’t beat the location- right on the beach at the south end of the resort. It’s quite expensive but worth it.
Delicious, fresh food. My catch of the day was Mahi Mahi and the server recommended a great finishing sauce for it. My husband had the filet and it was tender and flavorful. Opted for an additional dish of the lobster risotto to share, instead of sides, and that was tasty and had a good texture. The setting on the beach provides a great atmosphere.
The scenic view is fantastic and it goes with out saying the food was fantastic. Super high marks for the guacamole with crispy octopus, edible flowers and a special garnish. We had jumbo parents and tuna steak for dinner and Jamaica Colleens. This is a pricey restaurant but worth it with excellent service.
Great food. Had the Caribbean lobster and it was delicious! It was so big, we could share it, and ours was considered small. Beautiful restaurant on the beach. We enjoyed the ambience and sunset. We'll go again!!
Largest, Juiciest Lobster I've ever had....ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!! Lobster was so large, my wife and I shared the Surf & Turf! On the beach for a sunset dinner....BEYOND WORDS!!!
Great dinner spot to catch the sunset. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine recommended by the server. I had steak which was delicious. Great meal and view!
Had a really enjoyable time at Puerto Manjar. Was sitting down as the sun was setting over the water. It was a beautiful site. After our oyster appetizer, I had the roasted beet salad that was delicious. Then I had the fresh salmon cooked perfectly with a side of mixed vegetables cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the establishment. It was 5 star all the way.
Great food great scenery our Mixologist made one hell of an exotic drink called Catrina.
We had an excellent dining experience here for the last night of our honeymoon. Everything was exquisite, service was top notch, drinks were perfect, and food was delectable.
The laid back yet elegant beachy atmosphere was the perfect setting for sunset dining. The staff is attentive and the bites we had were all balanced with flavor and served with beautiful presentation.
Food was excellent, service was great! Sunset was breathtaking! Highly recommend!
The setting is awesome, right on the beach. The drinks were 2 for one. The mango margarita was incredible. The food was fresh and delicious and the price was reasonable. I would definitely go there again.
Good service. Had the Seafood Platter. If you are into Ceviche, I definitely recommend this meal.
Lovely experience. Excellent service and care to detail. Will definitely be back!
Stunning views at sunset. Many items I would have liked to try on the menu. I chose Chilean sea bass and the preparation was delicious. Grilled vegetable sides were perfect, light match. Roasted carrot hummus was outstanding.
It was a great dining experience. If you are here, make your reservation and enjoy the sunset.
Beautiful view. All service was wonderful. Food scrumptious. Special was Lobster dinner.
Great scenery! Nice variety of food as well.
We had Vidanta's special anniversary dinner here, just superb...
A beautiful date night dinner spot.
Delicious food service and views!
Latin American cuisine on the beach with pristine views.
Catch of the day was great. Eric was attentive. Great place to catch the sunset.
Food and service was great. A bit pricey but that is expected on this resort.
Great seafood. Watch the sunset at your table.
Vidanta Resort patrons only, not open to the public.
Very expensive fine dining outside at the beach with an amazing view. The food is unusual and delicious. Service is excellent. Ala Carte style menu with larger than expected portions. Order half as much as you think you'll eat.
Puerto Manjar delivers a stunning dining experience with its breathtaking ocean views and elegant, open-air setting. The sunset here is truly magical, casting a warm glow over Banderas Bay. The fresh seafood, particularly their ceviche and grilled fish, is exceptional, showcasing the best of local flavors. While I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and service, I would have appreciated a wider selection of vegan options. The staff was attentive and friendly, contributing to a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Despite the limited vegan choices, the overall experience was excellent. Puerto Manjar is a must-visit for seafood lovers seeking a memorable meal with unparalleled views.
The 5 star on service is for Ramon! Ramon had amazing customer service and made things happen. He saved this place from getting a one star because if an over priced beef fettuccine dish that was terrible the second time ordering and the manager was no help! Thank you Ramon for going above and beyond especially when we were not even your table on that return visit! Also appreciated the bartender that fixed up an amazing cocktail table side!
Our favourite restaurant at Vidanta. On the ocean. Warm welcoming maître d’. Delicious food. Gluten free ease. Most of all, our waiter. Ramon, who makes the experience worth the travel and who says everything is possible. Thank you again Ramon and you all.
Great service and view. The food was fresh and tasty. My group had a few meals at this restaurant and majority of the items were great. This food can a bit more elevated for the price to hit 5 står expectations.
That's a medium lobster. It's huge. It has a nice sweet flavor but it is a bit chewy. Definitely split. Even go with a small and split. Small = 1 lb, medium 1.5 lb, and a large is 2.0 lbs. Yeah, it is basically a gigantic steak that you dip in butter.
Acquired taste. Not exactly what you expect when ordering seafood based on stateside experiences. I ordered garlic shrimp and noodles... it came with marrow. Bone marrow. I ate the noodles and shrimp with hesitation. The bone marrow was not something I'd recommend. The Calamari was good but the octopus was a bit more than I expected. My wife ordered crab. Expecting leg clusters, she received stone crab claws which she did not enjoy. But that's from what we expected. So she enjoyed the salad instead.
Great place to eat if you are at Vidanta Resort. Food and service is wonderful not to mention the view. Just don't look at the price :)
The views were beautiful. It is right on the beach. We had the feta salad. It was delicious. The pasta was homemade. We enjoyed it.
Fantastic location and setting. Great drinks, food, and service. Lobster was overcooked.
Came for breakfast and food was okay. Nothing special. The pink tea latte had no flavor. It’s outdoors by the beach so it’s a nice view but be prepared for the heat.
The food is tasty and well prepared. Guess you need to be in the mood for gourmet and a bit unusual for my taste. I'm always hesitant spending more money for food I'm not sure I'll like.
Very good food. I had a version of eggs Benedict with lobster, it was delicious. They were out of asparagus at the time and supplemented a garden salad in its place. Fantastic views, and no line or wait for breakfast.
The table was uncomfortable. The food was well prepared. The service wasn’t particularly good. We ordered two glasses of white wine. They however brought us two glasses of red wine. Once the white wine arrived we weren’t sure what bottle it came from. The wine wasn’t also cold enough.
Food, atmosphere & staff are great. Food delivered beautifully. Water refills were slow to come. After dinner, it took a long time to clear the table. Felt as if we were ignored. Seems there are staff dedicated to alcohol specials, wonderful cool hand cloths, order & delivery of food items. What happened to the support staff to clear the tables? Short staffed or inadequate schedule. Very disappointing 😞 since the food is awesome.
The restaurant is overall very good, with excelente service and a lot of variety. However there's not much originality in the dishes and some of them may not be prepared in the best way. The lobster in the platter I ordered was grilled too much, making it chewy, the same with the prawns and the fish. The sides are charged separately, are somewhat expensive and of generic quality. The fries were good but nothing special, the same with the onion rings and some rice with cranberries and nuts which was good but nothing particularly special. I may be spoiled by the extremely cheap restaurants you can dine in at public beaches around the country, which for some reason seem to offer much fresher seafood. There's nothing particularly bad about this restaurant but it's also not a gourmet experience.
Unfortunately it took them 45 mins to serve our food and aditionally one of our plates had human hair in it. For the menu price, I would expect a much more higher quality of plates and that for absolute no reason a hair should show at my plate. Incredibly disappointing experience.
I am sorry but my experience here was not good. There location is beautiful, the service impeccable. However, the food was not good. The bread was plain and pasty, and even the butter was bland. To be honest, a beet salad was very good, and was the only bright spot off the evening. The prawns with green mole simply tasted bad. A lobster risotto was too salty and did not allow any lobster flavor to be apparent. For $100 per person I was hoping for better. I hope your experience is very different from mine.
Where do begin? This place is extremely overpriced. We were thrilled to have dinner at one of the nicer restaurants at Vidanta but it was a one and done. We asked about the catch of the day and after our waiter talked his way around several fish options he recommended the sea bass. We had no idea this was not a catch of the day, but was the most expensive item on the menu. I would call it a language barrier issue if we didn’t specifically ask for the catch of the day. The waiter stated it came with 3 tacos with Marlin on them, rice and a salad. We asked for the salad only. When the sea bass came out it was so big it was comical. I nearly couldn’t eat from laughing so much. With the “sides” it would’ve been enough food for 3-4 grown men. I personally only had veggies, a salad that was supposed to be an entree but wasn’t big enough to qualify as a side. The sea bass, veggies, small salad, hummus and two drinks came out to $260 USD. I did speak to the waiter about what he did and his response was “just don’t tip me then.” Save your money and go elsewhere. Food itself was 6/10.
Wow! Very disappointed. Planned a special dinner at this restaurant and 2 out of 3 seafood entrees came out undercooked. One was the lobster "special" that was sent back and returned so overcooked/rubbery that it was inedible. The other was another fresh fish special. The worst part is the waiter who tried to tell us the fish was "tender." We couldn't even cut into it, it was so raw and a different waiter agreed. It was an expensive dinner and not worth the price!!
