Good food, good service. Live scallop was fresh. Sushi deluxe, Trio sushi, Salmon teriyaki, sushi a la carte squid.
Great place, good prices. I live across the street and get takeout all the time. The Bento Box specials are very reasonably priced and very good. All the rolls and sushi I've had has been deliciouse. Highly recommand. They're also open later then any other place around!
Honest review from yesterday's dinner, very well done. The service was above average fast, the food was delicious and the chef and staff are very nice.
Came here with wife and kids. Great food and service. Thank you!
My husband and I discovered this cute restaurant last year. We love going here for a quiet meal. Food and prices are great. Would highly recommend!
Steve the owner is unbelievable!! His customer service is top of the line . On top of that the fish is soooooo fresh and everything is delicious I ordered from the place for the past year and it’s amazing every time
The best customer service! Ordered sashimi and they offered me an upgrade to toro, free of charge. They were so polite and pleasant to work with I was finished ordering by phone with a smile :) Everything was so fresh too. Definitely a happy customer!
This is the best sushi in Bayside for my money. They have creative fusion dishes, inventive special rolls and of course the food is always fresh. Seating inside is nice but nothing to write home about. Parking could be better but that's not their fault. Maybe not the best date night spot but definitely the best carry out or delivery sushi in the area.
Sushi is great, clean and very friendly.
Haven’t tried the hibachi but I have come here repeatedly for their futomaki rolls throughout my pregnancy along with vegetable soup and chicken teriyaki sushi roll. My husband and I love it! People seem to have a great time on the hibachi side as well. Fun time for the whole family!
Good quality fish with a soft and well flavored rice. Many sushi places make the huge mistake of giving little attention to the rice preparation but sushi you does it marginally better than the others in town. Solid place to treat yourself.
Place has fresh food. The service was quick and polite. I had issues with my chopsticks and the waitress came out with a device that holds the chopsticks apart so it's easier to grab the food. I was happy. This place is charming.
Great Great Staff. Sushi is always fresh and done right. Love it.
Ohs had sushi from lots of places and this place is by far the best, a lot of places load you up with more rice thank anything but this place makes it perfect.. the rolls are very well balanced and not alot of rice so you can taste everything else.. it’s one place I’ll keep going back too..
Sushi You cuisine is absolutely delicious. Their food is fresh, made to order and have a wide variety of Sushi. Currently, they are doing curbside pickup and delivery. Best Sushi I have had in Queens, I truly enjoy the Specialty Sushi (Queen Roll and Witch Roll).
Food is great. I love sushi and they do an awesome job. The people are really nice. Always clean as well.
Great casual spot for sushi. The lunch specials are a steal. The service is very good with kind staff.
This place has been here for years now and they consistently provide even better service than years ago. So far I haven’t had any issues with the times I’ve ordered take out or eaten here. Food is always delicious and well made and the staff are always so friendly and kind. With the rise in prices these past years, I would say the food is reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants. I always enjoy coming back here, highly recommend!
Great local place with fresh fish and reasonable prices. Owner seems to truly appreciate your business. They also deliver depending on how far you are. Go-to spot when we don’t know what we feel like ordering in.
I go here every week. The owner is one of the nicest men, but nothing compares to the delicious and fresh sushi. They have great service, convenient location easy to park.
My favorite neighborhood spot for amazingly affordable and good quality sushi. Everyone there is pretty friendly, I've been a returning customer of many years now, never had a bad experience.
Sushi you is amazing! My go to sushi spot! Everyone is always so friendly and accommodating whether at the restaurant or over the phone. They truly appreciate your business and the food is always amazing! I highly recommend sushi you!
Honestly, this place is the best kept secret* I am hesitant to write what I think about this amazing little gem, but I have to because this place is simply OUTSTANDING! I've been frequenting this place for years when I visit my sister in the neighborhood. But every time I come back to NY, this is my first stop. Not only is the staff super sweet and kind, the sushi is better than any Nobu or other fancy pants place. It's small in space, but huge in quality and options. Come to the hood! It's worth it!!!!
We got takeout and the sushi was fresh and for such a reasonable price!
Sushi You, my favorite place in the world. I love coming here for lunch or dinner with my partner. All the staff are so sweet, they are always so kind. The food here is yummy and affordable. I always deliver food here and it's good. And I always come in person and it's good. I like their chicken teriyaki, beef negimaki and their chicken tempura. I don't eat sushi but my partner says it's really yummy and worth the price. Occasionally when we go there in person they give us free things like melon or a small appetizer. We love Sushi You !! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰
hidden Gem. i wish i could find this place earlier, been live here for 7 years and always missing this spot!! Excellent service excellent food 🍱!
Finding this spot was a welcomed surprise. The sushi was fresh and tasty, service was top-notch, and prices very reasonable. I don’t live in the neighborhood but hope to return soon!
Very cute place, Excellent food, staff was friendly, and we got served additional treats before and after our meal. Great place we will definitely come here again.
Great sushi place. Everything was great, especially the Chicken Udon Noodle Soup, which was huge and definitely worth the price. It was my daughter’s birthday, and the waiter brought out a cute little wooden music box, a special tuna avocado dish, and fresh melon after our meal (Not sure if the melon was due to the birthday or just given in general). Definitely my new sushi spot!
We ordered takeout. Food is excellent, prices are comparable to area sushi joints. The place appeared immaculate, the staff was very friendly. Some regulars came in - their welcome showing it's also a regular, neighborhood joint. The dining room is small but cozy, street parking isn't great but there is a shopping center with a parking lot right across the street. Would like to go back to dine-in. For now, highly recommended.
This hidden gem of a sushi restaurant has some of the best service and food in town! Despite its small size, the staff are always friendly and attentive, and the delivery is super quick. The sushi is incredibly fresh and every roll is delicious. Highly recommend trying it out!
I come here all the time with my sister. We absolutely love this place. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. The staff has outstanding customer service and is always super kind and friendly. Best sushi place in bayside!
No matter how busy they may get, they’re always doing their best to make sure you get the best service. It’s a small restaurant with two to three sushi chefs total and a limited amount of waiters and waitresses. I don’t mind waiting a little longer for their food as the quality of it is fresh and delicious, especially for the price they offer it at.
My wife and I have been coming here for the better part of a decade and the food is delicious and always extremely fresh! Their prices are excellent and the staff is always respectful and fast. Definitely a go to spot for sushi and Japanese food!
An underrated sushi restaurant in east queens. No thrills, but great service and VERY high quality fish. Go here if you want to appreciate high quality without the thrills of a fancy establishment
If I could give this place a billion stars, I would. Legit the besttt place I've been to. I rarely write reviews and every time I order from Sushi You. I'm soo happy . There food is always fresh and fantastic. There customer service is top notch. I took my boyfriend here and he doesn't eat sushi often but they gave a free roll which he tried and loved. To top it off they gave free cantaloupe. Even when we do delivery. The delivery guy is sooo sweet and not stingy ( which in new york we know happens often). All I want to say is you haven't tried this place you are MISSING OUT.
Omg this is the best sushi spot!!! We have been coming here for years but then moved to Long Island and started looking for another spot closer to us. We came back today and it is so worth making the drive. The sushi is always fresh and amazing, the service is great & they have always given us a little treat!!! Whether it’s at the end with the sweet melon as dessert or at the beginning with an appetizer! Love it here & will go no where else for sushi!
This is the best sushi restaurant that I've ever eaten at. Our server Steve was warm and super friendly.
Delicious sushi and side dishes. Very kind staff. Lots of high quality food for a good price. Definitely will go again next time I’m in the area. Went back, everything was perfect once again. Definitely recommend their desserts.
An absolutely amazing place, Amazing service. Amazing food. 10/10 recommended.had the deluxe box and chefs choice sushi appetizer. X2 As it was so good . If around try this place.
We go this sushi place for lunch every often. They are friendly and the price of lunch menu is incredible.
The sushi at Sushi Yu was great—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each roll had a perfect balance of texture and taste, and you could really tell the ingredients were high quality. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, and the staff made the whole experience even better with their attentive service. If you’re a sushi lover, Sushi Yu is definitely a spot worth checking out.
The food taste great and the prices are phenomenal. The staff are also extremely courteous and attentive. I have been going here for many years and they have become my favorite restaurant.
I have been coming here for years. The food is always fresh. The service is outstanding they always try to accommodate and the pricing is very reasonable. This is my go to spot I order here all the time
For Queens, sushi you is one of the most reliable and big bang for your buck. We order here at least once a week, the kids love it and we never had problems with quality of the fish. It’s perfect for family take out meals, we have 4 adults 3 minors, I order 6 rolls 2 salmon dinners (sushi and sashimi)2 trio sushi dinners, Plus the free dragon roll, everyone gets a happy belly. We’ve been ordering from here for 10 years ❤️
Great quality fish with very reasonable price. Staff friendly and nice during our meal. Highly recommend in Queens.
When your greeted with the biggest smile and very friendly shows enough , the waiter gave my step daughter some history about the food and told jokes it was wonderful, the chef gave us appetizer on the house. The food was great . Place looks good , very clean ! Couldn’t ask for a better place for sushi for a first timer ,, she loved it !! Thank you!! sushi you !
We order take out from here maybe once a month and we always get a large order when we do. Their food is always fresh, flavorful, and leaving us feeling fulfilled and satisfied! Their rolls have an excellent filling to rice ratio! My youngest son loves their California Rolls and anytime we get them elsewhere, he says he prefers from Sushi You. They are very thoughtful of presentation, preparation, and protection of the food en route. Super friendly on the phone and they always double check the order placed. Thanks for your excellent food and service! We'll continue to support you!
My new favorite place! I recently moved out to Nassau from Brooklyn. This place is hands down the best for service, value, and quality I’ve been to in years. The fish is incredibly fresh and of high quality. And I don’t mean like it’s fresh enough you won’t get sick. I mean melt in your mouth, marbled fatty tuna and bright, perfectly unblemished scallop. And the prices cannot. Be. Beat.
I'm from the neighborhood, and we eat here all the time. Never had a bad experience! Wonderful menu and excellent service! They only have few tables, so if you can't get one, take-out is always a good option.
A Hidden Gem in Oakland Gardens From start to finish, our dinner at Sushi You was a delight. Appetizer: We began with the House Tempura — two pieces each of shrimp and fish, plus two vegetables. Light, crisp, and not at all greasy, it set the tone for the meal beautifully. Main Courses: Sashimi Deluxe Entrée (16 pieces, chef’s choice) — every slice was fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. I opted for the salad on the side, which was crisp and refreshing. Trio Sushi Entrée (four pieces each of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail) — my friend paired this with miso soup, which was comforting and well-balanced. Dessert: We couldn’t resist trying both the Black and White Mousse Cake and the Tempura Cheesecake. The mousse cake was light and creamy, while the tempura cheesecake was indulgent with a satisfying crunch. Service & Atmosphere: The staff were warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. One of the sushi chefs even took the time to explain the different parts of the fish used in our sushi — a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and genuine hospitality make Sushi You a must-visit for sushi lovers in Queens. We’ll definitely be back!
I’ve been coming here since 2015 with my partner and it never disappoints!! The sushi is always so good and fresh. The crispy rice is to die for!! We’re always changing what we get cause everything is always a hit! My go to when I’m in the area :)
Hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to! The fish is always incredibly fresh like just caught fresh and the flavor is next level. What really blew me away are the prices… easily the best I’ve ever seen for this quality of sushi. On top of that, the customer service is unmatched. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with a genuine smile and treated with such kindness and attention. They really make you feel like a valued guest. Highly recommend trying the fatty tuna (toro) it’s melt in your mouth perfection. Sushi You is a gem, and I’ll keep coming back!
Had a great time visiting Sushi You on 73rd Ave! Even though they were quite busy the staff was super attentive. For a small place they were busy and had a lot of orders ready for pick up. I sat down to a table for one. I ordered a Ozeki Dry Sake which was nice, just $8.50 for a small bottle. I also ordered the Sushi Tuna Pizza $14 and the Tempura (Shrimp & Vegetable) $16. Everyone was very well priced in my opinion especially compared to other Japanese places near by. They were also kind enough to offer me a White Fish Tempura appetizer on the house! This is a nice move. It probably doesn’t cost them much to do this and it elevates their hospitality! Highly recommend this gem in Oakland Gardens Queens!
Great sushi spot. Fresh sushi and the hibachi fried rice was really good too. More then anything the service was great. The young gentleman who took care of us was so kind and so great with my kids. He had great knowledge of the menu and helped us pick food that was suitable for us with our dietary restrictions. Definitely will be back!
I’ve ordered for pickup multiple times and this is my first time dining in! I came here with my parents on a Sunday early evening with only 2 other tables filled but as we were leaving this place was packed with dine ins and phone orders/pick up. We ordered a “light” dinner of avocado salad, spring rolls, agedashi tofu for apps and two teriyaki bento box. We definitely over ordered because I was almost full from the apps alone, oops. Avocado salad was delish, came with thinly sliced avo and ginger dressing on the side. Spring rolls (Harumaki) was a bit disappointing in terms of side - it was ~$5 for essentially two spring rolls. The salmon teriyaki Bento box was very filling and delish. Love that you can sub the shumai for tempura (only for $1 additional!) and that came with two shrimp tempura and 3 veggie pieces. Worth the upgrade if you’re not a fan of shumai. Even though we only ordered 2 bento boxes to share (parents weren’t too hungry), they gave us miso soup for all of us! Service was great for the number of staff available and all the things each person had to do to hold down the fort. They were all super friendly and we got two slices of cantaloupe to end the meal!
We passby many times and there is always a line during weekend. Last Friday we want sushi, so give it a try. The store is not a big, around 6 tables. About 4 tables of customers when we arrived. The price on the menu is reasonable (it's good deal). Since we are hungry, we ordered a party tray 2 and the Nabeyaki Udon. It didn't disappoint us. Fish are fresh and the sushi rolls are delicious. The noodle is a warm-you-up soup after eating cold food. Last but not least, we tries the tempura cheesecake. It's a interesting combination. Forget to mention, their service is good and all the staffs and chef are friendly. We took so long to order (cause we can't decide what to eat). They didn't rush us. They made sure we had hot tea all the time. Even during their dinner time, the sushi chef came serve us. It's not a high end sushi place like in Manhattan, but the food quality is good. The interior is not fancy but cozy. We always dine in Manhattan for Sushi, but since Covid and those Asian hates, we rather go to local. Sushi You is in our list.
Very reasonable sushi prices, and had some good unique rolls, especially including whitefish in some of their mixed fish rolls. Overall experience was very nice, although not the best sushi. Edamame was under salted.
This was our first time ordering. Food was excellent. The issue came with ordering from Seamless. The pickup time was between 6:40-6:50pm, 10-20 minutes after we placed our order. The food wasn’t given to us until 7:30. Definitely call the restaurant directly to avoid this issue as people were getting their orders within 15-20 minutes of calling, even people who ordered theirs at 7:10 got their food before us. Even though we had this inconvenience, the food was very good and we would definitely order again, just make sure to call.
Went to order the Beef Negimaki Appetizer about 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday to take out for lunch. But…. It would be a 25 min wait. Huh???? Couldn’t wait that long, so I didn’t get it. It was Mother’s Day, and the place was busy with tables and pick ups. But 25 mins. for an appetizer???? Small place and good food. I’m guessing that’s why.
Pretty good spot for sushi, fried rice, teriyaki and hibachi. The salmon tempura rolls were really tasty and fresh. The veggie fried rice was really good too. I cleaned my plate of everything. I’d definitely return when I’m back in Queens again.
They don't skimp on the seafood and the food is pretty good. I usually order the 3 roll platter to go which offers a great value. There is sufficient seating for dine-in so the wait is usually not that long. In my opinion, this is one of the best affordable sushi restaurants in Queens.
Great spot to grab some sushi. They have loads of other dishes too like udon, yakisoba and bento boxes. There is a decent assortment of sake too l. We dined in and the wait can be a bit long depending on how busy the establishment is. There were a lot of people picking up phone orders. We ordered a bunch of rolls, some "otoro" fatty tuna nigiri and some apps. The sushi was decent, nothing amazing but wasn't low quality either. My favorite roll was the 73rd street roll which is topped with pieces of Mango and has a bit of jalepeno in it. The otoro nigiri was amazing though since the fatty tuna just melts in your mouth. Overall this a good spot if you are in the mood for sushi.
Loved this sushi spot! What a hidden treasure - small and cozy, just a few tables with friendly staff. Great prices and very creative sushi rolls. Highly recommend the signature rolls: Handsome Boy and 73rd Ave! The menu looked extensive with lots of other yummy options that I have not yet tried. Definitely coming back again!
Very small, which is normally okay, but staff just sort of stares at you awkwardly the whole time. Our server didn't know the difference between sashimi and nigiri and didn't get our order right. The food itself was good, but smaller portions than normally found for the price per dish elsewhere.
My first time here. They have a good menu, it is best to come here when you're feeling adventurous. With limited seating capacity, the ambience is intimate. I'd go back soon to try the more of what they've got to offer.
We ordered a party platter (5 rolls plus 10 pieces sushi) and the You's Love Boat to-go. My order was ready at the requested time. Sashimi slices were okay. The rice in sushi pieces and rolls was a bit dry but at least the proportion of rice to fish was good. I would definitely not get the spicy salmon roll or spicy scallop. It didn't taste like their respective fish/shellfish was 50% filler tempura flakes or something else? We also had 2 dragon rolls which i thought was too sweet and had more cucumber filling than eel. If you only are expecting budget/low rate sushi then this will fit the bill but don't expect good sushi.
We certainly got a lot of food for the price (lunch specials). The complimentary jasmine tea was great and I liked that it was NOT served from a pot because of how questionably hygienic that is. I would say a solid place. It when down hill when my mochi was served with whippe cream and chocolate. WHAT?????!!!! The menu could have mentioned those gratuitous offerings. My stomach turned looking at it and when I said that I like my mochi to just be mochi, she said "then this goes in garbage." She could have taken the mochi off of receipt or simply exchanged it for real mochi. I know that restaurants can find many uses for unwanted items. I don't like restaurants that try to Americanize their food. I would just go to Friendly's if I was looking for a sundae.
Previously this place was amazing. I would always order the Oakland roll and cucumber avocado roll. Since Covid restrictions were lifted, their quality has dramatically dropped. Stuff is not as fresh as it use to be which is surprising because they seem to have a high turnover. They must be getting lower quality items to make up for the high demand. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
They refuse to comply with contactless delivery, and ignore any delivery instructions you requested. The delivery guy stands outside your house and rings the bell constantly until you open the door, even if it only takes you a minute. The spicy salmon roll is pretty good. The eel avocado roll falls apart when you pick it up. It’s mostly just avocado and eel sauce with barely any eel. The pork katsu lunch box is mediocre. The katsu is a bit bland and boring, and the rice does not taste freshly cooked. The ‘green salad’ is just chopped wilted lettuce. Only nice thing is they give you two small cups of miso soup instead of one, but I’m pretty sure even that is just instant miso soup.
Insulting. Twice in the last month we’ve had to wait more than an hour for our food (my mother waited two hours one night), and they gave us no notice. No apology, nothing. The food was good, but their behavior is demeaning to their customers.
idk how ppl say its great service here but that is not the experiences I get when I come here. I come here once a week and sadly this is the only sushi in the neighborhood. Every time I go in for pickup the front lady never smiles or says anything. Its very unwelcoming. Honestly if a new sushi place opens up nearby, I wont be returning. I hate giving money to businesses that dont feel welcoming especially if I am a repeating customer that comes there frequently. Very disappointing service.
Food was terrible, My wife was sick for days, after eating sushi.... Small portions. The people were nice and the place looked clean. Eat at your own risk...
This is a neighborhood place for me. Mediocre food, EVERYTHING is frozen! The price of "Avacado Salad" will buy 4 whole avocados across the street. You were warned.
I just downgraded this place to 1 star. come here once or twice a week and in my today's purchase I was told that there is a new owner and they have a new credit card company. I tried to pay with American Express and was told the no longer accept Amex and it was the only credit card I had. Today was the last time I come here. You lost us as a customer.
Both myself & my wife ordered the spicy crunch tuna roll & Californian rolls she was throwing up at 1am & my stomach was upset the whole day the California Rolls tasted fine but the spicy crunch tuna was very soggy and tasted off now we know why. Our doctor told us we had mild food poisoning due to the raw seafood. Don’t recommend the food unless you want to be sick !
Surprisingly terrible, especially for the price. Everything was either flavorless, bad flavor, or wrong temperature. On top of all that, it was expensive too. I was expecting something much better for the price I paid.
I place an order for delivery and instead of Salmon rice and salad I was given Shrimp. I called back to let them know that the order was wrong. I was told I was going to receive the Salmon platter and to return the Shrimp combo that was given. Which I did. Just letting people know that this place takes food orders back that are wrong. They don't know what the last person did with the food that was delivered and in return they might well most likely give it to the next customers order SHRIMP. THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME ORDERING FROM HERE. WATCH OUT PEOPLE. This happened today November 13, 2021
Sushi rolls are "wet". They disintegrate before dipping in the soy sauce. Miso soup has no tofu, no seaweed. I hope they can improve this so I can rewrite this review.
This was my go-to sushi spot for takeout, but now it will be my last one. My last order there was what it looked like hair in our food. I called the restaurant and made a complaint and demanded refund for my food. Initially, they wanted to give me credit for next time, which was something I didn't want. Since I ordered from BeyondMenu (where you order online from their website), I had to reach out to them for a refund. Then, they tell me is the plastic from the containers... what makes you think it is okay for customers to eat plastic? If you knew your containers were a problem, why didn't they change the way the packaging works at the restaurant? The restaurant wanted to still charge me for the spicy mayo and fried ice cream. I was content in paying for the ice cream, but the spicy mayo? What am I going to do with it without the rolls? In the end, BeyondMenu adjusted the amount and refunded all but the ice cream. Overall, I'm just disappointed in the whole situation: plastic vs. hair, thinking it is okay to credit for next time because my current food had hair in it, still wanting to charge me for the spicy mayo, and not addressing the container issue if they knew about it. I have attached photos to this review. One picture is the Philadelphia roll, and the other is the spicy tuna. Both had what it looked like hair in the container.
Legit one of the worst sushi places I have been or reviewed. Warm spicy tuna roll, watery miso, chicken skin in teriyaki. Poorly rolled sushi, especially for a place with sushi in the name. Messy and disgusting. Borderline disrespectful to Japanese cuisine. Spent over $90 and ate none of it. This is coming from a reviewer who usually only does good reviews. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! 🤮
