It’s a great spot for a sit down dinner with friends! The atmosphere is lively, the food is fresh, and the service is amazing. I love the crab-artichoke dip with bread, the grilled octopus with balsamic vinaigrette, and they have a special on mussels this month. It’s a little more on the expensive side so I can’t come too often but definitely come with friends to enjoy a good Greek meal! The gyro stacked btw- is HUGE.
We used to eat at Ikaros on Grand Avenue all the time. The most delicious lamb chops you’ve ever tasted. Large portions beautiful salads high-touch customer service. The takeout experience had some of the same qualities- the drivers hanging out at the pickup location all helped me to figure out the lockers, and when I had some challenges with our order, the restaurant responded promptly and courteously.
George the owner (handsome man in the middle) and the staff are excellent! May have been an error on our part that we didn't realize the grilled salmon would be more on the blackened side, being used to more moist baked salmon. I mentioned this to the waitress who said she'll see what she could do to help since we had started eating it. Then to our pleasant surprise she came back and said they are preparing the salmon the way we like it. Then George the owner came to ask about the salmon and we explained. He was very understanding and accommodating. The spanakopita, vegetables, rice pilaf were just delicious and the salmon that came after was perfection! The broccoli was exceptionally good! I don't know what about it, but both my nephew and i found it ever so flavorful! Enjoyed ambiance and cleanliness of the place. It's nice when the music is just right so you can enjoy the listening and have a conversation.
We ordered lamb shank and lamb stew with okra , absolutely delicious and generous portions. House wine was great. Service and atmosphere 5! Will definitely come back !
I’ve been going here for 9 years now. It’s my favorite Greek Restaurant in the east bay. I love their Gyro Stacker. A pile of meat on pita and steak fries with tzatziki, tomatoes and onions. Delicious! Also recently discovered that their Rib Eye is very good!!! Cute vibe inside and it’s in the heart of Grand Lake/Lakeshore’s commercial district.
Didn’t realize Ikaros had an outdoor patio until today, glad I visited. Tables are distanced and they have heaters for those cold nights! Food is very good, I had the fish special, fried calamari and my friends had gyros. All of the plates were very tasty and left us feeling pretty full. Also tried the baklava and galaktoboureko, dessert was good but not as extraordinary as the entrees, still worth a try if you have a sweet tooth. Staff was sooo nice and welcoming! This is definitely a place to visit ✨❤️

Fantastic food!! They did our baby shower recently and everyone gushed over how tasty… the leftovers were amazing too.
This place is amazing! I ordered a tray of Pasticho and tiropita for pick up. The communation was impeccable, due to a flight delay and having to pick up the following day. The full tray was much bigger than I had expected, and absolutely delicious. Everyone was quite impressed by the authentic flavor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if I lived closer, I would be using them for all of my parties. Thank you so much for everything to help make my daughter’s party extra special. ❤️
We recently ordered lunch boxes from Ikaros for a business meeting, and wow—what an experience! The food was amazing—truly some of the best Greek food I’ve ever had. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. From the juicy chicken souvlaki to the perfectly seasoned rice and delicious sides, everything hit the mark. Our whole team was raving about it—everyone loved their meal, and it really elevated our meeting. The delivery was seamless, the portions were generous, and you could tell it was made with care. Highly recommend Ikaros if you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine that makes an impression!
Sharing 5 stars in gratitude to George, Rochael, and their team at Ikaros. We miss the brick and mortar so much and love that we still get to enjoy their delicious food and energy through their catering service! They served up 25 of our instructors after a full day of teaching strength and movement, delivering a full array of freshly grilled meats, veggies, rice, pita, and all that came with them, with everything tasting delicious. We look forward to our next event together!

Since I lived in Albania for my first 18 years I have basically grown up eating delicious food from the perfect combination of cuisines such as Turkish, Italian and Greek! So, i am well familiar with Greek food as we have a lot gyros, greek salad, mousaka, their pies and so much more in Albania too. I loved the Greek food festival this year so I was very excited to try out Ikaros on grand ave with my in laws who were travelling from India :) The service is lovely, place is neat and food is really good! Price wise is a tad expensive for my taste but their servings are pretty big so come and share. Between the four of us we shared: - traditional moussaka - veg moussaka - ikaros gyro with fries - spanakopita mezes (spinach pie) We were more than full when we polished our plates. Spanakopita was really tasty and filling and gyro was ah-ma-zing!!! Both moussakas were good but too heavy for my taste. We chatted a bit at the end with the owner and she was lovely to talk to. Left with a great experience and a warm feeling in my heart, maybe because it reminded me a bit of my homeland. Can't wait to be back for more :)
the mussels was like coming home; the chicken and lamb souvlakias were perfect with the rice pilaf, and gave the pita and the tzatziki dip with pira was like going to heaven and we got to take home leftovers. efharisto for the food the service (sada!) and for the third lamb souvlakia on the house. :)
I met a friend for lunch here. I love the interior, light and open. We were greeted immediately. The service was fine. I had a yummy Greek coffee to start. The a gyro sandwich with lamb and beef. That was delicious! Full of flavor and lots of meat. I got a side of tziziki which really good. I would recommended this place for people looking for good Greek food.

Located within Adeline Food Hall. The pictures on Google Maps are for their previous location, which is now an Indian restaurant called Bay leaf. Did not eat here because we were looking for a sit-down restaurant.
We got the gryro for 4 kit takeout and we usually love the food. This time we wanted to give the baklava and falafel a try. The falafel was pretty okay but a little spicier and darker than expected. The baklava was unexpectedly mostly roughly chopped almonds and walnuts which made the mouthfeel unpleasant. The taste was unevenly distributed because of the rough chop and I could only really handle the puff pastry. This place is likely a ghost kitchen, so we probably aren’t going to order from here anymore.
Yes as to quality, flavor and atmosphere; unfortunately, yes as to being overpriced (perhaps due to location). While our server was friendly, inattentive also defined the service. 3 stars because it's good; but I have liked other places much more for much less.
Had a strange experience today compared to when we were here several months ago. Place was empty at dinner time compared to the past when people used to wait outside to get in. The menu items were rather pricey. On top of that the dishes were not put together properly. For example a $18 salad did not come with even a single piece of bread. They wanted to charge $1.25 extra for giving us a piece of bread. Duh! The meats were very nicely done and very tasty which is the reason for giving it three stars The waiters were all just hanging around drinking Boba which to me was very very unprofessional. At least they could have been drinking something from this restaurant! Overall was a disappointing experience. Sad.

It's takeout only, pick up area(locker room) feels a little sketch, needs a full time attendant incase you need assistance, ikaros and classic gyros are great, had the classic gyro, spot on, love their Tzatziki, love the Greek salads, they sent me the locker n code when ready everything went perfect , very fast, for my first time experiencing the food hall. Highly recommended, updated, second visit 7-15-25, 3 group order, first time to try tried lamb pita for the first time, it was not fresh, it was barely above room temperature, tough and with a mouth full of gristle and fat, very bad, do not recommend the lamb pita wrap. And they forgot the utensils, I checked the box on all three orders but no utensils!!!
We waited for over an hour to get our order (including the appetizers). The restaurant was half empty. We were with 3 starving kids Important to mention, and asked if they can release at least some of the food a cople of times. When it finally arrived, we were surprised to see that our main coarse was composed of a chicken shishlik (souflaki), sliced onions, sliced tomatos (both without any dressing) and a ready made (not fresh) cabbage salad. So disappointing after such a long wait. They got 2 stars because the service was good, and tried to cover for the kitchen by ofering us hummus and really trying to help the kids. But we wouldn't come back.

Ordered appetizer plate for party. The dolmas were the worst I have ever had. Seriously, canned are better. The Spanikopta was clearly made with frozen spinach and feta that could have been tofu it was so flavorless. Do not order food from this store. You can find better and cheaper in the frozen isle of the grocery store. Also what were the sauces? They sure weren't tzatziki. Nasty.
The quality of the food has really gone down hill. I used to really like this place, but all the food is stale. On a recent delivery, the gyro meat was obviously from the day before and had sat cut under heat lamps because it was as dry as jerky. This has happened twice in the last month, so it seems like it's a regular shift to stale, old food. If you want Greek delivery, Simply Greek on Piedmont is a much better bet in quality and quantity.
Ordered from Uber Eats, got a Horiatiki salad with a chicken gyro add on. It’s not a gyro, it’s just chicken. Please update that add-on to reflect that
