My favorite restaurant in the bay, maybe anywhere. I lived around the corner for years up until last April. Sfizio has become mine and my partner’s favorite date spot and it holds a significant memory in our relationship. The food is consistent and high quality. No frills, amazing seasonal menu with awesome flavor. The staff has always been incredible and accommodating. I’ve probably eaten at Sfizio over 20 times in the last few years and even though I live far away now I try to find time to go back it’s that good. So happy for you guys at Sfizio and hope your success continues. 💕

Super tasty pasta made perfectly with a nice atmosphere, good location and an unbeatable price in the bay area. The menu is small but delicious. They post a photo of it on their website and you can call for pickup which is super convenient. It's nice, casual and comforting. Simple, well executed food!

I loved that the menu happened to be all vegetarian when we went. The fact that they have a seasonal rotating menu will also definitely keep us coming back. The mushroom bolognese sauce was so rich and filled with umami. I didn’t take a picture of the saffron poached pears as I took it home to eat but I really enjoyed it - the flavors were very reminiscent of the Indian dessert Srikhand. There’s limited seating so it felt a little loud and crowded inside but I did enjoy the open kitchen concept.

This was a phenomenal experience, every single dish was a perfect blend of the familiar and the new, the service was excellent Darius was charming and thoughtful. No notes 10/10 and for less than 20$ an entree?? 11/10

The spaghetti & meatballs and strawberry shortcake were absolutely spectacular! I enjoy a smaller menu — the chef really knows their stuff. Loved the casual setting, too. A special spot.

I’ve walked past this place many times - but it was always too crowded. Finally on a Thursday I passed by and it didn’t look too busy so I dropped in. Overall - I really enjoyed the experience and will return. Food - relatively simple dishes, but well executed with fresh ingredients. Loved the eggplant appetizer. The pasta dish that I had as a main was also on point. I believe the tagliatelle was fresh. Tasted good regardless. Service - this is probably my biggest issue. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No issue there. But the model is you wait on line to order. It can be a wait. Reservations would be nice. Or even a virtual line system. Atmosphere - the outdoor patio, which is where I sat, is perfectly pleasant. Challenge is you can’t plan ahead so that you know you’ll get the patio…

I came here on a Friday night and had a great time. The food was fresh and they used premium ingredients. You can taste the difference with fresh made pasta. Pay at the register then get seated. Street parking can be difficult on a busy night. I am totally coming back try out more of the seasonal menu.

Arrived just before 6pm with a party of 3 on a Thursday evening, just one week since their grand opening. We got a round of drinks while waiting for a table: • Sfizio cocktail (my personal fav ✨) • Bianco Spritz cocktail (tasty but not flavors that I personally like) • Sparkling Limeade An outdoor table opened up pretty quick (<10 min wait), so we ordered at the counter and then got seated. Ordered everything to share and it was all delicious! Food came out pretty quick after ordering. • Grilled Basecamp Bakery Bread • Mixed Green Salad • Spaghetti + Meatballs • Fusilli (pesto) • Lumache (my personal fav ✨) • Strawberry Shortcake (loved the grilled biscuit and the lightness of the cream ✨) FYI: Some of the outdoor seating can be pretty sunny ☀️ depending on the time of day. They (currently) don't have any cover or shade set up.

Cool little pasta restaurant. Stand outs were the spaghetti with meatballs, the focaccia, and the grilled peach desert. Went on a Saturday and there was already a line at 5pm.

Insanely delicious pasta, you will not be disappointed. They may not have a super wide variety, but with their rotating menu, there is sure to be something for you. Delicious desserts and appetizers as well. I recommend dining for the full 3 course experience.

The menu was limited but delicious. We started with olives and crackers and ended with a mushroom bolognese. In between we had spaghetti and meatballs.

We eat out often, and over the years we have visited many wonderful Italian restaurants across the country and throughout Italy. Even with all of those experiences, this little restaurant feels uniquely special. From our very first visit, we felt like we had discovered something rare. The house made pasta is always excellent, but the vegetable focused starters are what first made us fall in love. They are simple in the most beautiful way. The flavors are honest and comforting, yet still thoughtful and surprising. You can tell how much heart goes into the cooking. It feels warm and elevated all at once. It has become the place we choose for so many moments. We celebrate here. We bring our families here. And we come on weeknights when we want something indulgent and wonderful. We often order nearly the whole menu because everything is consistently delicious and never disappoints. The team makes the experience even more special. Everyone is kind and welcoming, and the service always feels genuine. The Chef checks in every time, remembers what is going on in our lives, and makes us feel cared for in a way that is rare in restaurants today. There is an ease and sincerity here that keeps us coming back. This restaurant is truly our favorite in the East Bay. The food is beautiful, the atmosphere is warm, and each visit leaves us feeling grateful. It is a place filled with heart, and I recommend it to anyone who loves a memorable, meaningful meal.

We got spaghetti and clams, rigatoni and focaccia and the beet salad. Everything was soooo yummy. The park let is nice on a warm evening but it’s slanted a little bit. I can’t wait to come back!

Sfizio has become one of our favorites. The food is always lush, and the place has a vibe. Be prepared to join the line as they don't take bookings. It's worth it!

Cozy local spot. You order at the counter and grab a seat. The space is pretty small, so I showed up about 10 minutes before opening, and it filled up quickly. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for this economy. The food was great, too. Only downside was that when the staff member (who also takes orders) made my cocktail, the carbonated water was nearly empty. She still used it, so the drink had no fizz at all.

Love this local spot! Fresh pasta is 💯 overall. The depth of the pasta flavors varied a lot per dish and we went from wow’ed to content pending on the dish. The eggplant appetizer was Devine. Service is friendly and casual. You order at the counter and the table support is somewhat informal/flag folks down when you need things. It’s a great spot to go with 4-5 people to try the entire menu! So glad it’s part of the neighborhood. We also were able to sit outside with our four month old comfortably.

Sfizio recently opened and replaced the long-standing Noodle Theory. It was a warm atmosphere inside, nice but not over-the-top. A perfect casual/nice date spot. You order at the counter and the menu appears to rotate daily with a few consistent items like their spaghetti and meatballs and salad options. Truly the food was excellent. The spaghetti and meatballs were divine, the charred broccoli was so flavorful and fresh with the lemon. The seafood pasta was rich and complex, a little fish-heavy for my pallet but still delicious. Loved that each noodle was hand-made, and the quality and care was evident from the kitchen, kudos! Service was fine, a little strange when ordering at the counter because it’s hard to feel like you know who to ask questions to if you need more water or have a question etc., but not a big deal. I think the issue for me was just how cramped it was inside. We were seated next to another couple which was fine, but it was hard to hear each other over their volume and I don’t blame them because everyone was packed in. In short—it was distracting and made us want to leave earlier than we usually would. The couple stayed for a long time, and I could see the server eyeing them, hoping they would leave so they could seat more people, a bit awkward. I realistically think the layout of the restaurant could be improved on for a better dining experience. Amazing food, no complaints there especially for the price, but the atmosphere was just not quite aligning with the meal, and it wasn’t the intimate date spot we were hoping for.

Couldn’t stop raving about Sfizio after our first visit a couple of years back. The service has slid a bit. More of a fast casual, sit-serve-go, vibe has taken hold. Sure that facilitates getting more people through the doors. But at what cost? $1 charge for “extra EVOO” when the focaccia came without seemed like a strange move directionally. Chef was present but a lot less engaged with guests. Recommend: BYEVOO, the focaccia, pastas don’t disappoint

My first time, and I must admit I've been looking forward to dining here for a while. A friend and I shared the following plates. Salad with avocado and beets, (and I believe pine nuts) and pomegranate. An interesting and fun combination of ingredients with a lite refreshing dressing. Rigatoni, Black trumpet Bolognese. This dish impressed me. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich, flavorful and unique. The hit of the evening. Spaghetti and meatballs. A traditional no frills dish with meatballs that had a nice crust and tender inside. Made it seemed with beef and pork for a nice texture. A bit heavy on the breadcrumbs. Yogurt panna cotta. Super yummy refreshing and fun desert to round out the evening. Now for the service. I felt rushed. I was asked three times during dinner if I was done with my pasta. The first time I was asked, my plate was half full. I appreciate that restaurants need to turn tables. Honesty though, I don't Dilly Dally or Lollygag during meals. I never Diddle or Shilly-Shally when I eat out. I get it. And the only meaningful exchange I had with a server was when while I was eating my desert - a Square credit card reader was placed in front of me on the table. Would I come back again? Matt says - Probably not. There are too many good restaurants I still want to try.

The food was average bay area Italian. My gnocchi was okay, but not memorable. My wife's spaghetti and meatballs was a little better but, again, not memorable. The prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly and attentive. It is a very loud room and not for those who have problems with ambient noise.

I really wanted to like this place given the reviews and how crowded it always seemed to be when i passed by. Unfortunately, the food was just lackluster. I had the tagliatelle (vegetarian) which had some interesting flavors with tarragon and scallion, but overall it left me wanting more. My partner’s plate of the same dish was overly salty. Maybe the meat dishes are better? Nice ambiance and beautiful presentation of the dishes though.

Absolutely terrible experience. My wife is ada and we sat down before ordering, only to be immediately talked down to by the server. The tone was condescending and passive-aggressive from the moment we were seated through ordering. When someone in our group tried to ask for clarification, we were again dismissed and made to feel like a burden. We ended up leaving before our food even came because it was clear we weren’t welcome. Accessibility and respect should be the bare minimum, and this place failed on both. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Oakland and one of the very few times I’ve felt compelled to leave a one-star review. This is one of the very few single-star reviews I’ve ever written, but the experience left us feeling unwelcome from start to finish. Accessibility and basic courtesy should be standard, and unfortunately, neither was extended to us here.
