Julio is an amazing bartender and all the staff is skilled and kind. The owner Wilbert is so kind and welcoming! You can meet him most nights you’re at the bar. My husband and I loved the music and drinks. The food had an American spin but was delicious and still had local ingredients. We loved the mezcal selections and if you get a drink mixed the mixologists will take care of you especially Julio. We met and Love Manu there too! Stop by here and relax while in Oaxaca

This review is about the macchiatos which are consistently great, but more importantly, about the chocolate chip cookies. They are the best I've ever had. Not just in Oaxaca but in the world. The service is great, staff is friendly and the seating options are comfortable with excellent wifi.

I have been meeting people here for lunch, and it’s the perfect place to cool off in the shade while drinking a Topo Chico mineral water with huge ice cubes! The Filipino chicken sandwich is killer and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich is also tasty. It’s a very laid-back setting with servers who have a nice vibe.

Pictured is a Naked and Famous, but their bartender also whips up unique original creations—like the Ginza Breeze, a sake-based cocktail that was absolutely fantastic. On select nights, live music fills the space, drawing in a great mix of expats, tourists, and locals. They also serve food, though I haven’t had the chance to try it yet—that’ll have to wait for another visit and review! Whether you’re here for the drinks, the vibe, or the music, this place delivers.

Was not expecting this. It’s an easy place to catch a meal, catch some US and international games, dance to a band or dj and just have a good time. The layout and staff make it easy to chat up random people while traveling. Definitely go by.

The desserts of the day are usually very good, they have a great selection of liquor l, ask for a classic cocktails or a bartender choice. About food my top 3 are: Burger El Elfo Phily Tasajo Tasajo Burrito As a plus is that the owner is a great host.

What can I say, I am legitimately addicted to the fried pickles and my favorite mixed drink is only here. I still don't know what it's called, something with a tart lemon taste and underlying sweetness. I call it the Suki special in mind lol. It is just the perfect combination. This place is my Cheers of Oaxaca, there is always great food, great conversation and a great vibe. I have been a regular and am mildly embarrassed it has taken this long to leave a review!

Casa Del Elfo is one of our favorite spots in Oaxaca. The service is outstanding and the cocktails, mezcals, and food are fabulous. If you go earlier in the day it’s also great for a cappuccino and to read or work in the courtyard. The owner is super friendly and more than happy to chat when he’s around. Es la primera vez que vengo y me gustó, en estas fechas están pasando todos los partidos de la Champions, las botanas buenas, tienen Cerveza, artesanal del Consejo Cervecero Oaxaqueño, de mis favoritas artesanales oaxaqueñas, los precios bastante razonables.

Hermoso restaurante con carta de mezcales, cerveza nacional y artesanal y opciones de vinos. Su comida está bien presentada y su barra de café es muy buena, algunas noches hay música en vivo. Se ubica adentro de Casa de Barro, la atención de su propietario es muy cálida.

Part of a shopping restaurant area next to a parking garage but open air. We wanted a burger and this place had some good reviews. We also got a jazz band with the meal, an added treat. We ended up splitting a burger with potato wedges and six wings with tamarind/pomogranite sauce and the 3 Buffalo wings. Everything was really great. the dining area was very cool. We recommend this place very highly.

The chef inspired food and the curated drinks were wonderful. They have different live music artist that perform as well. I truly enjoyed my visit and will come again. I want to try out their breakfast and the philosophical meetings they have on Thursdays and Fridays. This will definitely be a go to place while here in Oaxaca! Great experience and friendly staff. Have visited twice so far, once for wings to go and another time for a meetup event. As a southerner it was nice to find biscuits on the menu ☺️ wings were good sized and well cooked. We enjoyed food from the Sports bar menu which was tasty, I highly recommend the wings! Our server was nice and spoke great English and helped me practice my Spanish, which is always helpful!

In an interesting location which is a combination car park - strip mall - solarium much better looking than what that odd combo brings to mind. It's peaceful, nice music gently playing, a slight breeze and dappled sunlight. Food is fresh and tasty, simple menu. One of the best cold brew lattes i have had. Service is friendly and helpful with the two staff, remarkable actually! Accessible open space. EDIT: went back today and got the burger... amazing and the bacon was superb.

I made my way to Casa Del Elfo for a bite to eat. Great spot, friendly staff, good food, and beer. The chicken fajitas were delicious. Probably the messiest thing I have eaten in a while! The Suero beer was refreshing. For anyone who doesn't know what this this -- you choose a beer [mine was Victoria], which comes with a large chilled glass filled with ice, fresh lemon juice and a rim of salt. Delicious. Then I went next door to their new sports bar and watched Canada defeat the Americans in the 4 Nations Cup!! Go Canada!!

What a charming and delightful spot we lucked out to find this gem. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as have a fine selection of mezcal, tequila and other mixed drink selections, they also serve mocktails. The atmosphere was welcoming and jovial with a great mix of locals and travelers. We stopped in a little later, but they were still serving food. The grilled cheese we had was out of this world! It was truly in a different league than the typical bar food other places have. The restaurant has a great menu, with a range of selections. You can tell the owner has taken time and effort, really paying attention to details, not only in the aesthetics and vibe, but even in hiring the employees. Everyone was so very friendly, they were all super knowledgeable about our drink choices, and supported my choppy Spanish speaking (defaulting to English when I really butchered it : ) I was told they hold meetups during the day on Saturdays for people to practice speaking, the locals come to freshen up their English and support tourists and expats in learning Spanish! How cool is that, such a community feel, we truly are blown away. Mark this spot on the map, it's a must!

I always have a good time at Casa Del Elfo. The owner Wilbert Craig and his staff are always exceptionally hospitable and friendly. They greet you with a smile and take time to talk with me. It's a warm, friendly environment. And, I've attended and love the Spanish English Intercambio class he has on Saturday mornings and the salsa class both are taught by excellent instructors. There are other dance classes along with other special events and musicians throughout the year that makes you want to keep coming back. And the food is excellent!! Thank you Wilbert and Staff❤️ 🥰

This is hands down my favorite spot in Oaxaca! The owner, Wilbert, is amiable and has great stories. His passion for cocktails and mezcal definitely shows. One of his bartenders is one of the best you'll find in Oaxaca. Come here for good coffee and great breakfast burritos in the morning, or for music, cocktails, and surprisingly good sandwiches/papas bravas in the evening. Wilbert and his staff make you feel at home, and you always meet interesting people here - both locals and expats. During some evenings there's live music and dancing, making Casa Del Elfo my favorite pre-game bar as well.

Excellent cocktails and food and excellent service. This is a great daily stop, centrally located in a safe and well lit shopping plaza. Open early for breakfast and coffee, and great place to grab a cocktail and a snack to start bar hopping. I recommend the Elf Burger and the Mezcalita, both excellent. The waitstaff is young energetic, and knowledgeable. Great house mezcal, locally sourced. We went on a day with live music (check the schedule for weekend events) and sat in the courtyard and it was a lovely evening. Overall a great place and a must visit bar in Oaxaca.

we came in for a quick lunch and it was very delicious. we were given the option to either sit inside or outside, and we sat outside . i got a mango smoothie and fajito wrap. the mango smoothie tasted more like papaya , so i would recommend the mixed fruit smoothie. the wrap was delicious 😋. our service was quick. and i would definitely go there again

Tiene un ambiente tranquilo, los drinks me parecieron un poco fuertes, buena atención. No sé si todos los días tienen musica en vivo, cuando fui, me tocó escuchar un grupo de trova, algunos días me parece que tienen grupos de salsa o tropical. Buen lugar, bien ubicado en la plaza pero a veces no te hacen caso los meseros por lo que muchas mesas están afuera del local, la comida nada fuera de lo normal pero bien, en general agradable y tranquilo.

Un lugar acogedor y tranquilo para desayunar. El burrito de tasajo estuvo delicioso (la tortilla de harina muy al estilo del Norte del país). La calidad del café recién molido es excelente. Como sugerencia: las llamadas de atención al staff quizá podrían hacerse en corto, no mientras la mesera está trayendo las bebidas, para no desconcentrarla. Salvo lo anterior, muy buen servicio.

This is a meeting place for sports fans, and gringos. They show the games on TV and supports group meetings and musicians w/ live music 2-3 nights a week. The drinks are good , service can be a bit slow but it’s a friendly place. The owner is super chill and accommodating, Check them out.

Located in a little plaza, I wasn't expecting much. Such a nice surprise, tho!! Cocktails, food, and music were actually quite nice. The atmosphere is a bit weird since people pass by when crossing the mall, and there's also visible cars from the parking lot; but the live music makes it up for it. We had the tapas and were good as well!

Un lugar muy sencillo con personal amable .. hasta que les pides que te cambien un billete para pagar el estacionamiento… no es nuestra obligación …. Y te hacen esperar… La comida no es excepcional nada fuera de lo común El frape sabía rico sin embargo te dan muy poco es más espuma y crema batida que café …

Sus bebidas (pedí un matcha, esmottie, dos cóctel de mezcal)son muy básicas, es mas un bar de cerveza comercial. La comida estaba bien.

El lugar es agradable, aunque tuve la mala suerte que en el local de junto estaban haciendo remodelaciones y había muchísimo polvo y ruido. Llegué a este lugar porque vi un video de la página Oaxaca Dónde en dónde mostraban el Phily Tasajo y la Burguer del Elfo, pero me llevé una super decepción! Porque en definitiva los productos para nada era similares a los mostrados en ese video, por lo cual considero que engañan al comensal, pues en redes mostraron un producto diferente al que le dan a un comensal promedio. La atención fue buena, los meseros bastante amables. En cuanto a costo, no me habría molestado pagar esos precios de haber recibido lo que muestran en videos publicitarios.

I had an awful burger, no flavour at all not even the sauce it came with was good, the patatas bravas were horribly dry. I also ordered a matcha which was horrible also not well blended tasted like straight milk, the only good thing about here was the latte probably only because it’s oaxaca. All the other food was mid, borderline bad.

Muy decepcionada. Fui a desayunar a este lugar y pedí huevos estrellados en termino medio, pero la yema llego completamente cocida. Considerando el precio, se me hizo un platillo de muy baja calidad. Trataron de resolver pero el platillo solo empeoró cuando le pusieron una salsa verde que estaba súper salada. Pienso que los desayunos no son lo suyo :C

Venimos con unos amigos a ver el súper tazón y se les fue la señal todo el medio tiempo, en fin, una muy pero muy mala experiencia. No te lo recomiendo.

I came to this place based on a recommendation, and it's the worst service I've had in years. The food is mediocre, and it seems like the waiters and the manager are paid to be on their phones. The craft beer is good, though. What a terrible experience. I'd recommend going to Wombat in Oaxaca.
