This is definitely one of my favorite little spots to go to when I have time. I love their lavender latte.
OMGOSH LOVE THIS COFFEE SHOP!! Makayla was amazingly talented in her knowledge of great, local, fresh roasted coffee and customer service. The "feel" of this coffee shop left us wanting to just stay longer. Quintessas is definitely Oceanos' best kept secret. Dear Starbucks, BYE FELICIA!!
I work down the street and I cannot believe I’ve been missing out on coming in to try this amazing coffee. Beyond good and highly recommended!
Wonderful fresh brewed coffee. Such a delight to enjoy in the early morning with a friend. Next visit I will take a picture. The barista was knowledgeable answering all of my questions.
First time visiting with my wife. The coffee shop has a great atmosphere, and very nice staff. Their dirty chai was one of the best ive ever had, highly recommend!
From Sac, i do my best to make a detour here when I'm in the area for their mocha and the beans are really something else.
Excellent coffee and staff! This was the Best coffee house to frequent. We were visiting the area, and before we left we picked up a few bags of coffee to bring back with us.
Great coffee and wonderful staff!! Was a little surprised at straws made of actual Straw. But I understand they are trying to be more eco-friendly.
Best Local Coffee!! Super friendly and they really understand roasting. Staff is knowledgeable and they also make one hell of a Matcha!!!
I am from out of town and found this little gem! I love speciality coffee and am a fan of freshly roasted coffee. If you are in the area and need some great coffee stop here!!
Best coffee around. Great service. Lucky to have a craft roaster in our backyard. Thanks Jack for all your hard work.
My favorite coffee in Five Cities so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do! The coffee looks to be roasted in house and has great flavor!
Great quality coffee and friendly service! I've worked in specialty coffee for 6 years, this is some of the best coffee I've had on the west coast. Wish I had time to try more here. Wishing y'all success!
Great little place for a regular cup of coffee. Our favorite is the mocha. This is rich, real chocolate with great espresso flavor, thick and creamy. One of the best mochas in the County.
The best coffee we've had since the start of our vacation. Jack was very nice! We'll be back :) It's a shame that it's so far away from Germany!
This was my first time to this coffee shop. It was really good coffee. The employees were very friendly and helpful. They also had gluten free scones. They were so good! I would definitely go back again.
After an awful stay in a Best Western in Arryo Grande, we left the area early in heavy fog and stumbled upon this place. What a treat! Best coffee we have ever had and friendly staff and customers too. I wish we had picked up a bag of coffee to bring home to Canada. Well done folks.
What can I say, If you like good, deep, rich, great tasting coffee don't look any further. I have a bag of Deltina whole beans at my house at all times. Best in the area by my personal taste and experience. Thank you guys!
Great place so far, the BEST mocha we have EVER had, and we have had hundreds, and a lot of our friends are now going there for coffee as they have a good veriety of coffee/coffee drinks! It has such a great atmosphere! Dave & Vickie
it's a must-see place excellent staff Pleasant calm. the place is so clean good feeling in there highly recommended. if you're visiting you need to stop here it's a good place to get some good coffee
I don't drink coffee but I picked up one here for my fiance and she absolutely loved it! Thank you wonderful staff for crafting such amazing products for us! Cheers!
Literally the best cup of coffee I've ever had. I purchased fresh beans as well and the difference is truly incredible! Great customer service. 5 stars is an understatement.
Such a joy to have this coffee house along this stretch of Hwy 1 in Oceano. Low key, delicious beverages (including iced hot chocolate and teas for the non-coffee drinkers) and a non pretentious vibe. Jack is great and roasting all day. Closes early-ish (4:30) but a great addition to the area.
What a delightful discovery! A cute tea and coffee house in Oceano, CA. Right opposite the railroad tracks with a coffee roasting machine nicknamed Thomas! Delicious locally sourced loose leaf teas and lovely coffee. Give it a try! This review brought to you by Jill 😊
Seriously good roastery. I recently purchased a good drip coffee machine, the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT, and have been geeking out trying more than a dozen different types of single origin beans. Quintessa's California Poppy is still one of my favorites of the bunch. Some of the coffees I tried from online sources were $5-10 more than what Quintessa charges for a 12oz BYOB of beans. Some of the online sourced coffees I tried where a lighter roast than what Quintessa offers. Therefore, they had more fruity notes, which often (always?) comes at the price of more acidity. The California Poppy is just crazy smooth and tasty. It is very well balanced, and while some coffees I have to be in the right mood for, I think I will be keeping my stock of Quintessa's coffee filled indefinitely. For my own taste, I can't ask for a better balance of acidity to bitterness than what I get from that roast. They also give a modest discount for bringing your own bag, tin, or container for a refill of beans. That's a cool touch that promotes sustainability. Oh, and their espresso is also on point. Thank you to the Quintessa staff for all the hard work. I am aware of how much effort goes into making consistently tremendous roasts, and I am grateful to have a place like that so close to home.
Amazing coffee! The place is brand new so it's a little slow going but WORTH THE WAIT!! I ordered a vanilla latte and it's by far the best I've had.
Totally recommend this place. Stop for a nice and yummy cuppa. Best (real) coffee in the city and surroundings. Coffee beans are roasted in house, handcrafted by friendly and skilled staff (Flat white was perfect!).
Cool barista vibe as soon as you walk in the door. Forget Starbucks and thier old beans. You want a fresh bean roast stop by this place whether your camping locally or on your way to work this place is definitely a stop for me. In and out with a coffee that trumps the competition.
BEST COFFEE IN SLO COUNTY!! Amazing service and the friendliest staff you'll ever meet! New to coffee?? This is the perfect shop to ask questions and get the facts, as they roast their own coffee On-site!!!
Good pure coffee experience for those looking to depart from uggo boring coffee. The flavors are robust and delicious! That's because their roasting process is done just right.
European style coffee shop. Love the simplicity and atmosphere.
Great coffee! Better than Starbuck's and Peet's-I love to support local businesses. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean, and the prices are reasonable.
Out of all of the coffee shops I’ve visited in the SLO area this is the best. The White Mocha and Caramel & Honey latte I ordered were prepared super quick but still tasted amazing. I highly recommend stopping here if you’re going to the beach or just in the area. 5/5.
Wonderful people, GREAT coffee, and an excellent addition to the hopeful growth of Oceano. I have never heard of nor had a bad experience with the staff, have talked with both the owners who are present and available, and the facility itself, the ambiance, is calm and comfortable. Having the workshop/Roasting facility visible and on the floor adds to the charm and uniqueness of this blue collar yet high end coffee shop. Good job Quintessa, keep on brewing, roasting, and growing.
This is my & my husband's favorite place!!! The quality & taste are consistent, which is very difficult to find around here. My husband loves dark roasts, so he's obsessed with the High Tide coffee. I can't get enough of the chai latte with almond milk. They use the good almond milk that froths up beautifully, & the spice flavor is perfect. I would drink it all day, every day if I could!
I love being here! The quality of the coffee is really good and I can really feel the taste! The store is very nice inside and makes me want to try everything they have. It's my treat every Saturday morning.
Family run coffee shop and boutique roaster with passionate quality to the caffeine arts! Ample cute outdoor patio in back, yummy pastries, organic flex—roaster Jack and partner Jill live coffee and hospitality and will serve delightful drinks to make your day better… easy parking in adjacent lot. Best shop in wide radius around so this is the place if you are serious about your coffee.
I'm no coffee connoisseur but I do love my espresso and I've tried just about every coffee shop on the Central Coast and Deltina has the best espresso by far and the baristas are always super friendly!. Hands down my favorite coffee shop
One of the newest coffee shops and actual roasters. Excellent service, atmosphere and yes coffee! Also great to know they have unsweetened almond milk. Perfect and better than the flavored stuff with more chemicals and sugar.
Nice little local coffee spot. Jack and his employees are super nice and knowledgeable and will talk to you and care about what's going on. My mom was about to have surgery and we came in one day, both Jack and his employees remembered and asked how she was doing when I came in a week later. Coffee is great and roasted in house, I made sure to buy a bag before I left for home in Sacramento. It will be one of my must-visit spots when I'm back in town.
Love Love Love this coffee shop! Organic beans, roasted to perfection on site. They also carry an array of plant based milks & good quality real dairy milk for your lattes. My favorite coffee here is the Boardwalk roast...or if I'm on the go a honey vanilla latte with the real milk...yum!
Great to get a good coffee house over here. We were up on the mesa and wanted to get some coffee and didn't want to drive into Arroyo. Yelp steered us here. They roast their own coffee and it's pretty darn good. Friendly staff, too. Definitely going back. And I got a croissant, it was fresh and buttery.
Coffee and a cinnamon roll, anyone??? One of the top roasters on the Central Coast paired with Old West Cinnamon Roll company, don’t know of a better way to start a relaxing morning on vacation.
Awesome people Awesome coffee. I go to a lot of coffee shops and they have something very special. Try a hot Mocha you will not be disappointed. Best way to start my day
Super friendly staff/roaster. Great chai and espresso. I love a local roaster and a chill vibe
They are GOOD. Period. Truly think one of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many coffee shops even throughout London. Love the hospitality, too.
A much needed addition to this part of the Pacific Coast Highway. They are bike friendly and the last (or first) place for decent coffee for miles. Plus it has the relaxed coffee shop atmosphere that cyclists love. Oh yea, the coffee is excellent and the owner and staff are very friendly.
Deltina formerly Quintessa. Is the best coffee in the central coast hands down. I loved coming in and getting my Large white mocha back when I lived here. They use dark roast for their espresso so it is always much more bold flavor wise than a medium roast or light for that matter. Loved the staff and the owner jack was always super kind and explained to me the entire roasting process which they do in house BTW.
Was on vacation in the area and we walked here every morning for a large latte with oat milk for me and a large iced mocha for my husband. Both drinks were very delicious. Customer service was great. We also bought a pound of coffee to bring home which has a great smell and taste awesome.
Outstanding family owned business. Totally community oriented and real. Authentic San Luis Vibe and Style. Go Get some NOW! Best WAKE-UP-BEAN!!! Nectar on the Central Coast. Kindness practiced here...
Cruised in for a cup of coffee and loved every minute of it. The baristas were calm, polite, and willing to work through my morning grogginess. The house drip coffee was excellent, and is now part of my daily routine. Highly recommend this coffee spot!
Great coffee spot!! It was our first time in. Loved the laidback locals vibe. You can tell quality coffee is a strong focus of theirs. We had a few pastries along with coffee’s and both were very good. Loved this spot and will be back again.
Best iced mocha I've had in a while!
Awesome local coffee shop! I stayed in an AIRBNB in the area and walked the few blocks down to this spot for some morning coffee. The capacino was awesome and after sitting inside for a spell there was a mix of tourists and locals who frequented the location. The 2 younger gals working that morning were genuinely friendly and gave no hint of that fake friendliness you usually get from folks who pander for tips. I'd come here again for sure if I was in the area again!
Coming from Europe to Cali, Deltina was a savior to our espresso addiction - Jack even gave us a tour through the roastery and we had what must be the most authentic coffee statewide. Cant recommend this place enough - don’t miss it! Thanks again for having us.
If you’re in the Pismo area, you must go to Deltina Coffee Roasters. They roast their own coffee beans right there. The ambiance is relaxing, welcoming, just the way a coffee shop should be. The staff is friendly and helpful. I got a honey cinnamon oat milk latte and my husband got a salted caramel oat milk latte. It wasn’t too sweet. They have a good balance with the syrups and their coffee. It was smooth and delicious! Only thing I wish was that I lived closer because this would definitely be my everyday coffee spot. Thank you Deltina, we will be back!
I enjoyed my coffee here. Nothing particularly amazing but a solid latte. I have no complaints!! They have a cool set up inside where I’m not sure exactly what they were doing but you can watch some coffee science. The cashier was nice.
Probably my favorite coffee spot on the central coast. This place makes me feel like I’m actually in civilization lol after being gone for 20 years there is very limited coffee options until you get into AG / SLO - sorry if I sound bougie but it’s the truth. They have fire organic coffee here and they make tasty non-caffeinated drinks for kids we got something they called a vanilla steamer it was really good. This place has the raw beans right there in the sacks, the coffee roaster right there in the middle of the room, and a bunch of bulk coffee for purchase as well. If you like good coffee you won’t be disappointed. They have another location in SLO too.
If you want that old style real, unprocessed taste (and kick), of the way coffee used to be, get it here!! The scones are on the menu but sell fast,(not too sweet just right) so get yours before they're all gone. Great old west setting and old authentic machinery. The smell will take you back in time to a place where coffee was just beginning and at it's purest state.
I got an unexpected day off and thought it would be perfect to start with coffee. When going to a new coffee shop, I always start with a latte. I think you can tell a lot about the shop and the coffee by the quality of a simple latte. This one was absolutely delicious. Coffee was rich but not bitter. Perfect amount of coffee to milk. I love that they roast their beans on the premises. And in fact I took home a bag of their medium roast to use as my day off coffee at home. The staff member who helped me was cheerful and pleasant. The setting was very comfy. I will absolutely be back.
Had the boardwalk drip coffee. Delicious! I liked the relaxed atmosphere. Half of the store is dedicated to the coffee roasting business. Cool but there's only 3 tables to enjoy coffee inside. No biggie at all.
We enjoyed a Coconut Milk Matcha and a Soy Mocha with sweet designs and luscious foam. Thank you for having soymilk! Yum. There weren’t many pastries left, so we just grabbed the last two Coffee Cakes and they were so delicious! Happy we didn’t pass those up. There’s some seating inside. It feels like you’re right in the roastery. There’s also a nice enclosed patio out back.
Their coffee is great. Since I only work in the area I havent had the time to sit down and enjoy a espresso drink. Ive only tried their beans. One of each actually except for espresso roast and decaf. Personal favorite is the boardwalk. Im trying their high tide as I write this and the mouthfeel of the coffee is great. Different than other dark roasts you can get. Youre definitely getting your money's worth. Edit one year later 01/11/24... I finally tried their straight espresso and their late. Its all realllyyy strong stuff!!! If you can handle your coffee.. this spots for you... I can't lol. But ill be back for another late soon....
Peering through the mirage, gathered the most beautiful of women, each preparing exotic rich bold flavors to perfection. This swanky establishment brings a whole new meaning to “coffee roasters.” Thank you ladies.. Your taste lingers on these travelers lips. Only wish there were time for another cup..
Awesome coffee and bought coffee beans as well. They provide coffee grinding service too.
Nice coffee stop in Oceano. They opened not even a week ago at the time of this review. Owner made me my drink and was very personable. I’m usually a cappuccino person, but this was the best mocha I’ve had in a while! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Great coffee!!!!, fun dark wood atmosphere, kind service, good prices. Shirts & fresh coffee beans for sale. Pastries not a good selection.
Fantastic coffee. I'm normally a light roast guy, because I think you can get more delicate flavors from it, and I find most dark roasts aren't very complex. But this place had a fantastic, smooth dark roast that really brought out some wonderful flavors. The medium roast was also delicious, which I ended up getting. The roaster really seems to be skilled and passionate.
Beautiful mochas and amazing service. Welcoming staff. Their coffee is very high quality. What a gem of a find for us!

Hands down, this is the best coffee in town! It’s a dark, rich, and freshly brewed house blend that’s brewed to perfection. And the best part? The consistency is impeccable, every cup is just as delicious as the last.
Stopped in for a quick caffeine fix and left impressed! Grabbed the raspberry cold brew, smooth, not too sweet, and the barista asked how many pumps I wanted instead of dumping in the default 4 (I went lighter, and it was perfect). Coffee was fresh and flavorful—clearly high-quality beans. Classic spot with good energy, right in Oceano near the beach. Friendly service and solid drinksdefinitely recommend for anyone in the area! ☕🌊
I drive 20 miles there and 20 miles back without hesitation for these beans. That’s how serious this is. From the espresso beans (Cypress forever 🫶🏼) to the handwritten love notes, stickers, and little drawings tucked into my orders, this place just gets it. The coffee is consistently superior. Rich, smooth, zero bitterness, the kind that ruins you for every other bean. I’ve tried others. I always come back. It’s not just coffee, it’s care. You can feel the intention in everything they do, from the roasting to the packaging to the way they treat their customers. I’m loyal for life at this point. No other bean compares.

Had a good mocha. Friendly staff. Wish they had blended ice "slushie" coffee drinks for coffee wimps like myself. (I blush at using the word "slushie", but truth is truth.)
The coffee was really good and the staff was nice! I’d definitely go back! The only reason for the four star was the large cups are not very big and I’d like more options / specialty drinks. I’d still definitely recommend you try it!
Really good quality coffee but unfriendly staff
Great looking place this is the first time buying coffee from a roaster house they even had decaf for me.Also sells t-shirts etc mocha latte, chai , croissants and chocolate chip cookies places to sit and enjoy your goodies, small but perfect size for being there 4 months. Bought 2 coffees,2 pastries. $14.
Deltina Coffee Roasters in Oceano, CA, delivers an exceptional experience for coffee lovers! The fresh raw coffee beans and fascinating peek into their roasting operations make every visit unique and fun. The cozy seating area could use a slight refresh for comfort, but hands down, Deltina serves the best coffee in Oceano. A must-visit for anyone craving top-quality coffee on the Central Coast!

Bad service. Long wait for no reason.
Oceano residents now have a true coffee hang out. They roast and sell their coffee beans. In addition, they sell baked goods from AG's Eclair Bakery. I gave them 3 stars, as my cappuccino was a bit flat, and my company's poor over wasn't filtered long enough; further, they only have half and half out for customers, milk upon request. This post may be to critical, and I'll definitely come back. Because it's great to give back to local businesses, and be supportive!!!
I’ve been coming here for over a year now and the only reason that I keep coming back is because the espresso is my favorite comparing to the many coffee shops here in the 5 cities. Unfortunately, the service is horrible. In the past year I’ve maybe had 2 or 3 nice encounters with the baristas. They are very unwelcoming, lucky if I even get a hello. I always feel like an inconvenience, as if they have other things to be doing other than helping guests. None of them look happy to be there. It’s really sad.
The coffee was okay, but I’ve had better.
The coffee was okay, but I’ve had better.
Normally amazing drinks and service, unfortunately the young tall blonde barista made the drinks with normal milk, not oat milk, then on the remake the large drink became a medium and the “room temperature” kids steamer (which was absolutely clarified) burnt our sons lips (thankfully wasn’t too bad), he had to wait a full 15 minutes with the lid off just to drink it, not great for a four year old. I am sure they will get it right next time, it is a good coffee shop.
This coffee used to be the best. The baristas used to know how to make a good strong coffee. Now it’s just weak shots with cheap oat milk.. cold brew also tased watered down. Bummer.
Caution: Extremely spoiled milk! Ordered my chai latte, and it tasted weird, so I asked if it had espresso in it (that I didn't order) - it did, so I got a remake from another barista. Second drink also tasted weird, but I thought maybe their chai mix wasn't my favorite... drank a third of it and started to feel feverish. Asked the barista if by chance the milk was out of date, and she said it was 16 DAYS EXPIRED. My stomach is now gurgling intensely, so I think I got food poisoning. Very alarming! Edit: No apology is disappointing, so I don't think me trying again will happen.
