Disclaimer : if you’re looking for more “authentic” Italian cuisine , this might not be the place for you. However , if you’re looking for a great “Italian-American” cuisine , this restaurant would satisfy you plenty. Excellent location , better than the old one by South Odgen and also a bigger restaurant in historic 25th St.Plenty of parking around as well as other pubs and breweries to go after dinning or having lunch here. The pizzas are a must try , specially the Funghi one , which is nothing less than stellar and the crust is very well made. Also , the lasagna al funghi is great too but expect the American style lasagna with tons and tons of cheese and thicker pasta in between. The Chicken Alfredo is very good too and the pasta is made from scratch, so that makes a difference. The Calamari Fritti are ok , not the best either the worst I have tried. Their Tiramisu is also fine , not the worst one but either one of the best. Service is impeccable and I appreciate that they even let me dinning on Christmas Eve at 8pm , when they were going to close. I can only say “Grazie Mile” and thank you for always providing such a great experience for customers.
Very friendly staff! The young woman Jenifer who is in charge is amazing ! She has a darling personality and is very concerned about how your food and experience is! Love this place ! The food is amazing as well definitely will be back! The portions are huge ! The Cobb salad is to die for!!
.The BEST Italian restaurant in Utah! I travel 5 states on business. The food and service are exceptional. Started the meal with a shared Beet Salad. I had a Wild Mushroom Lasagna and my husband had a Butternut Squash Ravioli. Just wow!
That was an unbelievable meal. Exceeded every expectation. Yeah it's a nice place, yeah they've got very polite and helpful staff, yeah their food is delicious. What I didn't expect is to totally fall in love. My waiter Jason joked around comfortably and gave good advice, my food was absolutely superb (if that's what I had to eat for the rest of my life exclusively, I'd die happy), and on top of that very reasonably priced. Go there, right now.
Really good Italian food and great service. My husband & I went on National Lasagna Day. So we split the Lasagna Bolognese & the Wild Mushroom Lasagna. We also had Caprese Bruschetta for an appetizer, can't forget the bruschetta. Plus a drink. I drank Zucca-Rita & my husband drank BlackBerry Whiskey Sour. Definitely will be going back.
Simply put, this will always be one of my favorite restaurants. The food is spectacular and the atmosphere is always on point. The only thing I wish they'd do differently is bring back brunch on Sundays!
Zucca was so much fun. We ate in the old speak easy down stairs. The decor was amazing the details were perfect. The wait staff were highly attentive. The only word to describe the food is delectable. It was beautifully plated and the flavors we're spot on. The drink specials are worth a a try or two.
Tried Zucca for the first time today, Kade took care of us, with help from the rest of the staff. We were well cared for and the food was very very delicious. Prices can be a pinch high, but it was a pretty great experience so im not to worried. If you get a reservation, i saw they had a way cool looking Speak Easy in the basement. For a full experience, I'd recommend it!
Great place for Saturday and Sunday brunch. This past weekend they featured the Sunday brunch with a buy one get one half off. Smoked Salmon, Eggs Benedict, wonderful in-house Mousse Crepes, ripe fruits, and on and on. I could go back every week.
The atmosphere is quiet and the interior wood finish work is beautiful. Food (bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar especially) are absolutely delicious and the service is amazing! We will be coming back for sure and recommend it to anyone.
The food was phenomenal. I had the Chicken Picatta while my GF had the Chicken Alfredo. I've never been a fan of capers or asparagus but this dish blew me away. I ate every bit of it. The beer selection was okay but I wouldn't expect much for an Italian restaurant. The wine selection however was extensive. Our waiter Andre was very polite and professional. If the weather permits we highly suggest the outside seating under the string lights. Very romantic setting and atmosphere. We will be back. You've won us Zucca's.
For our 10 year anniversary we had dessert at the Underground Speakeasy. Such a cool idea. If you know what I'm talking about Shhhh don't tell anyone. It's a secret! Hopefully this secret location stays that way. What a wonderful experience!
Fantastic! Troy did a great job. Didn't miss a beat. He was respectful and prompt. The food was a treat for the taste buds. Would definitely recommend.
We went on a Tuesday night. They had 5 dollar wine glasses. The bread they brought was super good. Cannelloni I ordered was fantastic.
Very well priced Italian and delicious variety of options to choose from! Try the tomato bisque soup! Delicious...
I've been here 3+ times and service and food has been great evey time. I don't review lightly. One of the best spots in Ogden.
If you love fresh, handmade pasta with yummy sauces you have to go here! So good!!
This is in a beautiful renovation of an historic theater on 25th street in Ogden. The service was tops, the menu interesting and included prime rib, which was pricey. The pasta prices were the upper end of moderate, though. My husband had chicken Alfredo and it lacked flavor but if this classic is normally too rich for you, then it could be great! I would go again. It had a classy feel.
This place was very good. The balsamic vinegar and oil with high quality bread was amazing. I'll be returning just for that. Some of the nicer dishes are pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for it. Higher price for a much higher quality. After just one visit, I can say I much prefer Zucca over something like Olive Garden or the popular Italian place across the street.
Our first experience here was phenomenal! The wait staff was polite, timely, and gave great suggestions on drink and food. The food was splendid and not only did it leave me full but it left my taste buds happy! We did order gelato but the chef said it wasn't up to the quality standard he would have like so not only did they get us a good quality gelato of a difference flavor but they went out of their way to make sure my experience was not ruined by the dessert. This restaurant definitely respects their customers as well as their own ingredients and food. 10 outta 10 would go again
The variety of food our group ordered enabled us to sample a great deal of the menu ..and sample we did.. everyone shared a taste of their choices..and it was hard to decide which was the best because everything was excellent...okay, maybe the cheesecake was the best !!! TOO bad we were on vacation and could not return ...but it's on our list when next we are in Ogden.
This is an excellent restaurant and affordable for the Ogden area. It is located on the historic 25th St. downtown and offers a variety of Italian and Italian American dishes that are both well sourced ingredients and nicely prepared. Portions are adequate - service was great - and the wine and drink selection was above average for the area. I do like this place and will always choose it when in town.
Every time I come here, I wonder why we don't visit more often. Food is great, service is great, and prices reasonable. Zucca fits the bill for most occasions. I would visit for a date, a business dinner, or a family dinner, whether intimate or extended. I've even been here with groups of 40 plus and they do that well, too. Good beer, wine, and cocktails, too. Tonight, I visited with my husband and two children. Andre, our server, was exceptional. He reminds you good service is an art. The manager was also helping tables out and was lovely. We will definitely keep this one on our radar for regular rotation.
Very yummy. I had calamari, which was nice big chunks, and not the usual rings. Also they have a pretty nice beer list, with some nice stout. Also had sea bass, which was cooked super well, so nice and juicy. Cane on a bed of rice, which was very rich and good
This is easily the best Italian in northern Utah! They also have a huge menu, so you can order almost anything you want; even quite American food. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend or family member. Be patient with their staff, they are usually very busy and they run their tails off! Your food will absolutely be worth a little wait!
Delicious flavorful house made pasta and sauces. The bruschetta was a perfect blend of flavors. Great atmosphere and a good wine and beer list including Perroni. The owner was more than present the night I was there, helping servers and greeting guests. Plus very generous servings and good service. Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Wonderful ambience and service! The food is simple, high quality ingredients and fresh flavor. Recommend the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Absolutely Delicious! The Creme Brulee was served with a blueberry compote that I loved but it did not have the hardened caramelized sugar that makes a perfect creme brulee. I look forward to going again and trying more of the menu!
Food was pretty good. Service was okay. My biggest complaint would be the amount of time we stood at the front waiting to get seated with an empty lobby.
Excellent presentation of the dishes, lovingly recreated ambience, using the historical structure where the Star Noodle house and other businesses used to be (with the wonderful Dragon sign), and choice of full indoor, indoor-outdoor and al fresco dining. Great atmosphere, competent cuisine. includes a downstairs 1920s decor speakeasy type Lounge (close to where the old 25th Street tunnels used to be). Fun stuff..! The people who did this building restoration spent a ton and cared a lot about what they were doing.
This cute restaurant on historic 25th street in Ogden is a solid choice if you are looking for a delicious reasonable meal. I have eaten here several times and their previous South Ogden location as well. Tonight we had chicken Marsala and the chicken paillard salad. Both were delicious! Service is always good and tonight was no exception. They offer gluten free pasta and pizza for an additional charge ($2) and most entrees are between $9-$16. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Monday night special was awesome value and high quality food!
Great food, when compared to other local chain restaurants. Some of the food tastes like generic Italian food, while other entrees are really good. The bread is awful very dry needs to be brushed with butter while baking, but the green salad is excellent, tomato bisque is very good. Overall its really good food, but I don't see anything new, something creative and different. If you are in the mood for classic Italian food, that does not deviate from the norm, then this is the place to go and enjoy classic Italian. Don't expect gourmet five star and you will love.
It’s really good Italian! They have a great setting, a good menu and very good servers. Their flavors are very good, but the dishes do focus on heavy Italian entrees, which I think most people enjoy. I like to have options for lighter food sometimes and I feel a bit limited here in that regard only.
The food was phenomenal! We had the spinach dip, which was amazing. Me and my friend ordered the salmon salad and the mushroom raviolini. Both were great and filling. However, the service was slow and the waiter was kind of a snob. They need to be nicer to their customers and be more attentive. They filled our water perfectly but they forgot that we wanted dessert. Would have been 5 stars if the service was as good as the food.
Good Italian food. Nice restaurant. It cost between $14 and $30 per plate. I didn't give it a 5 because I didn't care for their bread sticks. Our table had prime rib which was really good, butternut squash ravioli, and mushroom ravioli, all which were enjoyed. The meatballs were fine but not as good as expected.
As big Italian food fans, my husband and I were impressed. Seemed a little pricey to me for the competition nearby, but not terrible. The pizza was good, but a little over cheesy. The spagetti was yummy, with a more oil based tomato sauce and tasted very authentic. Service was great and prompt.
Really nice Italian restaurant. I had the chicken marsala and really enjoyed it. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli and loved it. A friend had the wild mushroom risotto and it was fantastic. The only entree at our table that wasn't very good was the chicken Alfredo. Service was excellent!
We went with a group for Sunday brunch. It was very nice. Great atmosphere. Eggs Benedict and made to order omelettes were wonderful. Potatoes a little over-cooked. We love the bloody Mary's but they were not as good as previous visits. .
The service was great. The food was "good". I am sure that they have great food there, but I tried the blackened white fish special and there was WAY too much citrus on the dish. Almost like they poured straight lemon juice on it. We will definitely be back to try a different dish. The creme brulee was close to spectacular.
Took my husband here for his birthday dinner and we got there kinda late right before closing because he has to work late but there was lots of other full tables still with people eating and having drinks. Live music playing.. the atmosphere would have been perfect if not for the attitude and demeanor of almost every single employee there.. with the exception of the hostess. No one smiled.. no one seemed happy at all to be there much less serve us. After preparing our entrees the cooks left for the night.. literally as we received our meals and shortly after that our waiter brought his personal items from the back and sat at the bar waiting to leave. We wanted to order dessert to go but were told that the kitchen was closed and we we're presented with the check. Honestly, for such a pricey upscale restaurant I was very disappointed with our service and experience.. it really didn't even matter that the food was really good. The mood in the building was contagious.. my husband sat quietly not smiling at all and just said it felt awkward. The bread with balsamic was exceptionally good but we had to ask for a second basket and the second one brought out was cold and stale unlike the first which was warm and soft. Overall it wasn't a great experience.. pricey with terrible service and we won't be returning
Oh man. I've been here a lot and have loves it but the past two times I've been I have been less than satisfied with the customer service. Our server simply never showed up. The couple next to us just left after a half hour of no service. Another family by us had to take their food back to the kitchen themselves. Our server was on the phone arguing with somebody right in the middle of the restaurant. My food, as always, was delicious but it took 45 minutes to come out.
Our group was large and had a reservation. There was only one server who was a little overwhelmed and our food took forever. My husband lasagna came out 20 minutes after my meal. The appetizers were great. The meal was okay. Some of the food was a little bland.
Several years ago we dined at zuccas old location often. We recently gave their new location a try. The atmosphere was nice however I was less than impressed with our service. Our table was dirty, as was the plate my salad was served on. Speaking of my salad. Having recently been placed on strict dietary restrictions I ordered my salad without carrots, tomatoes, cheese, or dressing, it arrived with all of the items. My partner ordered calamari, unfortunately it was slightly undercooked. Our main entrees however were delightful. Our waiter was a bit slow and seemed to have had a hard time remembering small request like refilling drinks. What used to be hands down a five for my family is now a three star rating at best.
My husband and I ate dinner here tonight for the first time. It smelled amazing coming in off the street. We were immediately seated. The patio area has a wonderful feel to it. You feel like you are outside but you are indoors. We both ordered specials (Ravioli for him and Risotto for me). It took quite a while for our plates to come out. Our server was virtually non existent and we had to ask others to send him to our table twice. Both plates came out and both were under cooked. Mine was cooked enough and I was hungry, so I ate it anyway. The ravioli however was too under done to be able to work past it. We both ordered Creme Brule for dessert and it was amazing. We arrived just after 6pm and left just before 8pm. The restaurant was not very busy and our server could have checked in with us more often than he did. Overall, good enough food, terrible service, excellent atmosphere.
I was not impressed with the food here. Ambience is nice but the bread was flat. My dish was house made fettuccini. The noodles were thick and gummy like dumpling noodles. My husband got an ocean to table special that was great but we weren't impressed enough to come back.
Sadly we didn't get there until a half hour before close. The friendly staff were willing to serve. The food was cooked well. My bison steak was cooked on the flat top where fish had been cooked so I got some fish taste. Everything else was a premium dining experience.
I was frustratingly unimpressed with this restaurant. We met up with some friends from Montana and Ogden Utah was a central location for us, so we tried to find the best restaurants in that area and chose Zucca. We went during the normal dinner rush; however, we were one of three groups in the restaurant. They were over staffed for this amount which was not a problem, but for how slow our service was made our experience a little frustrating with how many servers there were. Furthermore, neither my wife or I were impressed with our dishes at all. I chose a normally lovely pasta dish with bacon wrapped scallops and a lemon based sauce. However, at Zucca the sauce tasted as if they'd poured straight lemon juice on plain pasta. Hardly worth $20. Over priced for a low quality
the staff was really great, but the food was a bit of a letdown. Portions were small and very expensive. My wife ordered chicken alfredo, and was greatly disappointed. It was both too strong, and not anything like a typical alfredo, as they added both sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke into the sauce in small Blended bits. I ordered the lamb chops. For $28, I expected to get at least a decent bit of meat, but instead I got four ribs with a couple of bites on each. Additionally, I ordered them medium and got two of them most certainly blue rare the asparagus was barely cooked and extremely crunchy, but the potatoes were terrific! We decided against desert. Based on portion size for my wife and I, I think they're trying to cut costs while jacking prices.
We were seated right by the door even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. Very cold draft. Service was subpar. We came before 5 and tried to order items off lunch menu due to dietary restrictions our server told us no, that they stopped serving the lunch menu at 5. Server had an attitude from the minute we were greeted. She was very rude!! Food was ok. Asparagus was under cooked, kids pasta had 9 noodles. Took forever to get food and dessert took even longer. We will never return. Save your money and go to Olive Garden they have better service.
We were excited to eat at the speak easy. Service was ok, our waiter was very nice, just seemed new. Food was not great. Our bread was dry. The calamari was So So. My husband’s Alfredo was more of a pesto and the chicken in his pasta was dry and over cooked. I ordered the salmon risotto and it was crunchy and runny and the tomatoes in it weren’t good. Salmon had a weird flavor like it was cooked frozen in the microwave, Quite honestly the tomatoes just didn’t seem to go in it. It’s a great concept, just wasn’t executed well. The waiter was very polite and took my meal off our bill.
