A warm welcome with a lovely crackling fireplace. Carefully prepared, high-quality food paired with a red wine of their own production. Appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, and a trio of homemade desserts, all served with seasonal produce from the garden. And to finish, a trio of their own amaro liqueurs. We will definitely be visiting this popular Osteria again.
You only go there if someone directs you... or by word of mouth. Excellent food prepared with attention to detail and ingredients. Impeccable service like in a luxury restaurant... in the middle of the mountains... a welcoming and dedicated atmosphere. Courtesy and elegance distinguish it🌹
Excellent value for money, impeccable service, authentic food and the typical white cuisine that characterizes the village of Montegrosso, with De.Co. ravioli and many other traditional starters, first and second courses.
Absolutely recommended, this is the conclusion I came to after trying the extensive, fixed menu (it consists of various starters, 2 first courses, 3 second courses, a wide selection of wines and 3 desserts), the location was fantastic, you felt at home, the service very courteous and polite, in total €35 per person seems right to me giving you a quality/price ratio.
An unexpected mountain restaurant we stumbled upon, we decided to give it a try. We didn't quite understand everything on the menu, or rather, the set menu at €35, which included still water, sparkling water, and house wine. The first course was a fritter with soursop flowers, very good. The second course was an assortment (5-6) of homemade antipasti. After that, we were offered a meat dish with vegetables, but we were already quite full, so we ordered a cheese and salad plate with chestnut compote and soursop flowers. Dessert options included basil ice cream, strawberry panna cotta, and steamed flan. I opted for the panna cotta, which was absolutely divine, with a coulis that must have been homemade. Between courses, we were offered a glass of prosecco before dessert, and at the end, a small homemade raspberry digestif. The service was superb. I highly recommend this place, which is a refreshing change from restaurants that generally offer the same things. The bill was a pleasant surprise, just like the meal itself. €77 for three people.
I highly recommend it. Authentic ingredients, delicious, locally sourced dishes, a truly extensive tasting menu with just the right portions (not over-the-top or skimpy: you'll still leave feeling very full). The prices are truly excellent, if not low, for the quality of the place. You eat much better and spend much less than in many restaurants on the Riviera and beyond. It's a family-run restaurant with incredibly friendly staff, from father to daughter. I can't recommend it enough: these little gems in the hinterland should be promoted and maintained as much as possible!
The first time I've given more than 5 stars. We stayed in the village for two weeks, and during those two weeks, this was our regular spot for drinks after a hike, and we had excellent dinners there a few times in the evening. Respect for this hardworking family who always make you feel welcome and always make it special by introducing you to local products. The food is delicious, and you have time to savor it. This is a true gem in the mountains, a must-see if you want to enjoy delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere.
We had lunch on Easter Monday. 6 starters, 2 first courses, 3 second courses, 4 desserts, house wine, someone ordered beer, someone ordered coke. All for €30 per person. There was no shortage of homemade digestives. Everything was excellent and plentiful, the staff were very friendly and kind.
Fixed menu restaurant.. courteous staff.. kind and attentive to not make you wait too long between courses. excellent genuine cuisine.. everything handmade and well presented on the plates.. special flavors such as the three sheep's cheeses.. cow and goat or the persimmon cream. modest price around 25/30 euros per person... except for the little girl who paid less based on what she ate. here too thoughtful in asking what the 8 year old girl would have preferred to eat and served first. at the end chocolate ice cream. also the liqueurs offered. limoncello and lamponito. own production. to always return with pleasure.
Osteria del Rododendro, an osteria located in a beautiful and quiet village in the hinterland of Imperia, specifically in Montegrosso Pian Latte... The owners are very kind and helpful, the atmosphere is very welcoming and familiar, the cuisine is not classic Ligurian, but local... where many wild and aromatic herbs are used, a very colorful and fragrant cuisine, with very unique aromas... The dishes are beautiful and very well prepared... The menu is a fixed one, and includes a variety of cold and hot appetizers. As for the first courses... you absolutely must try the "Raviore", a fresh pasta made with raw herbs in olive oil, and then the chestnut ravioli with chanterelles... delicious!! Then there's a trio of second courses... like a sirloin steak all'ormeasco with thyme and juniper berries, mint-scented snails, or a tasting of local cheeses accompanied by a stratospheric fig compote. To finish, a trio of desserts, I would recommend a mint and dark chocolate Bavarian cream... The service was impeccable... the price was very fair... what can I say.... Extremely satisfied with the lunch, highly recommended for everyone, and I will certainly be back...
Finding yourself in this town where peace, friendliness, and simplicity reign supreme, and stopping to eat at this restaurant, which offers a high-quality menu featuring traditional products, is certainly an experience worth repeating. I'd like to add my compliments for the staff's great professionalism and kindness, which surrounds the customer with attentive care without intruding on the intimacy of the dinner or lunch. Excellent value for money, and I recommend pairing your dishes with their excellent Ormeasco wine.
One of the best restaurants I've ever dined at, for the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the dishes, and the professionalism and kindness of the staff. The turmeric fried bread as a welcome drink was spectacular. The set menu was very generous and meticulously prepared, with original appetizers (the crispy rabbit amazed me), fresh and authentic first courses, chestnut and mushroom gnocchi, which my companion loved. I don't like mushrooms, so they immediately made up for it with some fantastic pesto. The rump, with that particular cut, melted in the mouth. The wine was top-notch. The desserts, which I usually never go crazy for, were delicious here: chestnut ice cream, steamed pudding, and mint Bavarian cream. I would have asked for seconds for the indulgence even though I was full, but not weighed down because, as I repeat, everything was cooked lightly. We finished with a licorice liqueur, a complimentary Brachetto, and a fabulous raspberry liqueur. The place is beautiful and clean. The price was truly fair: €60 for two. Congratulations to everyone.
Great restaurant and Nice staff
We stayed in Montegrosso Pian Latte and visited Osteria Del Rododendro for a dinner! Complements to the chef! The ambience was good and the food was great! Modern dishes with local ingredients. We really recommend Osteria Del Rododendro!
Family lunch, traditional menu. Very welcoming family management. I recommend the typical Montegrosso ravioli and fried rabbit, wonderful.
Super
Really friendly people. Food was good but in some cases was extremely salty.... Too much I can't even eat Two dishes so salty they were
