The food was amazing and Ashley is one of the best servers ever
This is a really good spot after a hike near the coast. In our case, we stumbled upon this gem at the coast of Ventura, just about 25 min from the Punch Bowls in Santa Paula. We started with cocktails and enjoyed fresh warm bread & butter. I had the Cioppino, and my wife ordered the porcini mushroom risotto. We also shared a chocolate tart for dessert. Every single bite was flavorful and delicious. We got here right before sunset, and we were able to enjoy a good view of it from our table.
Very nice restaurant. Nick, Tony, and staff really took care of us on our anniversary. Huge portions. We couldn't finish the brussel sprouts appetizer. The short rib was huge. My only complaint is the seafood platter only had one scallop. Also the $2 port fee is a bit much. We don't even have a boat lol
4.1? That's a vast underrating. Great food, great setting, astronomically amazing service, great wine, beer and cocktail selection, and did i mention great food? Get the damn risotto with your steak and then the cobbler to end it. I can't describe how pleasant I feel right now having come here. Oh and a dog friendly patio and loving, caring staff. Caroline is a former dog trainer even and is great with dogs. Austin gave attentive service. The bus boys and everyone were saying hi to my puppy. Cashew loves you all!!!!! 4 other dogs were on the patioas well, all great owners with them. This place is the spot you want, especially if you are a dog owner and risotto lover looking for a sunset dinner.
Walked into the place and wasn't super impressed, the restaurant was somewhat average in appearance. The view was nice, with a pretty sunset. From there it only went uphill. The staff was wonderful, very attentive, checking in regularly despite being slightly understaffed. Extremely friendly, informative about the menu. Not a negative thing to say about the service. Same goes for the food. I started with a mixed Gin drink, can't remember the name, along with the appetizer pizza. The pizza was delicious, especially with the drop of Basil sauce in the middle of each slice. My wife had the Blackened Chicken Pasta, I had the Braised Short Ribs and we shared the Garlic Green Beans, all wonderful. I guess there was one negative, the Blackened Chicken was slightly under seasoned, but still tastes good. In summation, I would definitely go back and recommend it for a date night or even a family get together.
The food was very interesting in our group. For starters the bread board was excellent but the calamari fries had a very strange texture. The pasta Bolognese was somehow very spicy but the tuna steak was pretty good, it just needed a better sear. The service was a little slow for not a very busy night but our waiter Brian was very funny and a very nice guy who patiently answered a lot of our questions
We had most delightful and unforgettable time at the very special prefix dinner for Boat Parade Celebration. Restaurant decorated with grate taste and elegance. Life music duet brought warmth, romance and festive mood and spirit. View is simply stunning and unmatched. It is most perfect way to view parade unfold in front of you while enjoying 5 star delicious dinner in romantic celebratory environments. Service was exceptional. Our server Brandon went above and beyond to make our evening special. Bryan General Manager checked on us several times, making sure we have all we need. He also looked spectacular in his Christmas Cat jacket. Drinks were made with grate care and delivered promptly. Tables were cleared almost instantly. The food was outstanding! Delicious, fresh, cooked just right. Grate presentation and care was given to each dish. Under watchful and caring eyes of owner Orestis restaurant is a real gem on the Edge of the Sea.. I highly recommend this restaurant for special romantic evening you will remember for long time.
Just had a wonderful dinner at the Water's Edge, a wonderful dining experience I would highly recommend. The server was awesome and accommodating and super personable. Everyone including the owners were friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing I ate every bite! I had the pasta with shrimp and was pleasantly surprised at how many shrimp were in the dish. My husband had the lamb shank and raved about how tender the meat was. We had a corner table with a breathtaking view of the harbor and got to see lots of boats coming in and all the activity. It was very captivating! Will definitely be back again soon.
I made reservations here for 7pm, but next time I would make it to see the sunset. It was already dark by the time we got there. The food was super good. The salmon was so delicious. I liked it better than the pita taco I ordered. That was kind of a weird thing to eat. The shrimp were huge and the pita was a little burned. It's a good idea as a dish, but the execution was a little off I think. It could definitely be elevated with a creme of some kind. Besides that dish, everything else was really good! I loved the sauce that came with the lumpia.
The food and atmosphere were outstanding. The Happy Hour drinks were watered down and not worth the $9.00 each. Enjoy the food, great service and views of the harbor, they are all great. I had 4 martinis and they were were just beverages, not martinis.
Went here for my birthday dinner and it happened to be on the same day as the parade of lights so we had to order the $99 special. Where we were sat was probably the worst seats on the patio so I couldn't enjoy the boats or fireworks from my seat. The first two courses took a while (waiting an hour for 3 pieces of crostini). However , once I talked to one of the hostesses, it seems like the kitchen started to catch up and the dining experience was nice. The steak was the highlight , cooked perfectly. I'll definitely return to see what the original menu has to offer.
I came in a couple weeks ago and the food was great! Servers and employees were awesome. There was only another table besides us, so food came out quick. Although, there was an older gentleman who continuously interrupted us. He seemed to be micro managing the employees. Other than that, everything was good.
I love this restaurant and will return. I love their food and service has always been great. The view is so lovely. We decided to spend our Thanksgiving there. They over booked. Although I had reservations for three months, we still waited for 20 minutes. There was close to 30 people, or more, at all times waiting for tables- crammed near the front reception and wrapped around the bar making the noise level-loud. The buffet and food area was a MESS. They were understaffed. No one cleared or cleaned the droppings and often many of the food trays were empty. The omelette station closed and left early! When I inquired, there was confusion as to why, other than the omelette guy ran out of “stuff”? When we asked about more mashed potatoes, we were told “oh, they’re coming but it’s going to be awhile.” There were two in my party, we had two cocktails and the buffet, and the bill was a little over $200. Again, what we did get to eat was delicious but felt like we had to fight for it.
We were here for an afternoon of football and eats. Also, brought our dice game along to play ship, captain and crew. Unfortunately, I left my dice game there. I did confirm they have it however, management has chosen not to take the time to sending it back to me in AZ. It is the difference between average customer service and exceptional customer service! I also offered and certainly pay for the cost to ship but never heard back. I would of provided a 4-5 star review if they would of gone the extra mile. Next time we are in the area, we will go to the other side of the harbor where there are many more bar and restaurants to choose from.
The food deserves ZERO stars and no longer reflects menu selections. Potatoes old and overfried, no avocado in avocado toast, more like a salsa; and the bread is not everything bread. It is plain yellow white cheap bread. The cost of $22 does not reflect the quality of the food. I am very disappointed. This used to be a good restaurant, but the quality and service has decreased. We had to flag down servers to get water and coffee refilled. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you are not eating there.
⭐️ 1-Star Review: Waters Edge, Ventura, CA I have never experienced such unprofessional, dismissive treatment from any restaurant as I did at Waters Edge this Thanksgiving. I placed an online order, received a full confirmation, and arrived expecting to pick up the meal I paid good money for. Instead, I was met with one of the rudest interactions I’ve ever had with restaurant staff. The maître d’ barely looked at my confirmation before curtly telling me that because it’s Thanksgiving they were serving a buffet and “not taking online orders.” No apology, no attempt to help, no acknowledgment that I had a confirmed order they accepted. When I explained the situation again and showed him the confirmation, he simply brushed it off and told me to “contact Toast,” their ordering system. Toast customer service actually tried to help—they even reached out to the restaurant while I was standing there—but the maître d’ told the Toast representative that he was “too busy” to deal with it and that I should “call tomorrow.” Meanwhile, I was left standing there on Thanksgiving Day with no meal for my family and money already charged. There was zero concern, zero responsibility taken for their mistake, and absolutely no customer service. Their attitude made it clear that my situation was not important to them in the slightest. Because of their complete lack of professionalism and compassion on a holiday—when people rely on to-go meals more than ever—I will never return and will never recommend Waters Edge to anyone. This was a horrible experience from start to finish, and they should be ashamed of how they treat paying customers.
Ive been sitting here for the past 15 minutes waiting for my check and the food sucked and the drinks took so long to even order! The service was so slow and terrible as well. Not to mentioned it’s way overpriced for the quality. Not to mention there is now a party of 25 being served outside by the owner and the entire staff! While the people inside the restaurant are waiting for service.
I rarely criticize restaurants, but today I can't help but speak my experience. Went in at noon. The server and the hostess were very friendly. The view was beautiful. I was excited to order the house croissant with fruit and whipped cream. I just returned from living in Europe for 2 years and when I heard house croissant I became excited for a flaky, hot, buttery wonderful croissant. What I got was a croissant that was very obviously store-bought and had been microwaved and glaze had been poured over it. Within about 4 minutes of the staff putting it down in front of me, it became rubbery and I could barely cut through it. If you know anything about food at all, you know that this is the telltale sign of microwaving. I was really disappointed. As an appetizer we also ordered a cup of chowder. It did not taste homemade at all, it had a dark appearance, and it obviously came out of a can or it had been made the day before and reheated. It is definitely not award-winning. My spouse had the short rib and mushroom omelette. The meat was very dry, again, it tasted like reheated meat that was probably left over from the night before that. My husband did like his bloody Mary. The server was kind enough to have the bar make me a mocktail since I do not drink. The menus looked old and dated. This restaurant definitely looked like it has seemed better days and was tired and old. Unfortunately, we were looking for a place to host a large event but this place is not it.
