My sister and I went on Valentine’s Day, and everything was a 10/10. The line was out the door and took about 25 minutes, but it was well worth the wait in my opinion. The matcha blondie had a strong matcha flavor, which I loved, and it wasn’t too sweet. The banana pudding was even better the next day after sitting in the fridge, and the red velvet cinnamon roll—OMG. Oh, and the banana strawberry matcha was so good as well. I definitely recommend giving it a try!
Favorite bakery in LA!! I am obsessed best strawberry banana matcha ever. I am from the Bay Area and I wish we had this in the Bay!! Great selection of drinks and baked goods. Loved the banana pudding, matcha brownie, and chocolate chip cookie. I'll be thinking about this bakery when I get home. The line was long but service is fast. Kind workers. I look forward to when they get a bigger place and hoping for success so they open in different locations :)
Always a pleasant experience coming to support a beautiful Black woman owned business in Pasadena. You can see Ashley’s passion in every corner of this space, especially as her lovely mother breezes from kitchen to display counter to fill baby missing items. The matcha is top notch quality, fun latte flavors and seasonal offerings. Definitely a must when in Dena.
By far the best cinnamon buns I’ve ever had! It was so moist, perfectly sweetened and every bite felt like I was eating the middle of the cinnamon bun. The cookie was surprisingly so delicious. It was thin but super soft and chewy. I got an oat latte and it was delicious. The only thing was I wish they were able to warm up the cinnamon buns but regardless it was good. (Can’t imagine what it would’ve tasted like warmed up) it was very pricy but the quality is undeniable!
We drove two hours for some desserts and it was completely worth it! The atmosphere was nice and there was some seating indoors. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The matcha is delicious! I wish the drinks came it larger sizes though. We shared the cinnamon roll, which was sweet, fluffy, and decadent. We got some cookies to take home 🤍
I was super excited to try the cinnamon rolls here and they definitely did not disappoint. Everything about it was perfect, from the pillow-y texture, to the ratio of frosting on it. I’m still thinking about it and I am already planning my next visit. While I was there, I also got the s’mores brownie. It was a little too sweet for my liking, and the marshmallow layer separated a bit from the brownie. I should have warmed it up a bit, but I was too excited and ate it right away.
The instant you walk in you can sense the aroma and vibes. Everything baked here is too tier and so delicious. The toffee cookie is moist, chewy, soft, and satisfying. The smore brownie and lemon loaf were also fantastic. You order at the far left counter then they call out your name when the order is ready. I do not understand why their website differentiates morning and afternoon, everything was available in the morning when I went on Saturday.
The strawberry tres leches is a MUST! It’s perfect and refreshing and balanced. The regular cinnamon roll was a home run. Simply a perfectly classic cinnamon roll, soft, sweet and balanced. The match cinnamon roll is expert level. The ceremonial grade matcha really makes the flavor come through. No food coloring, no gimmicks. Medium low sweetness. This is for real matcha lovers. Everyone will enjoy the first two layers but the inner layers are straight matcha and cinnamon. This masterpiece is for a mature palate. The inside of the bakery is beautiful with marble decor and plush couches. There are 2 seats in front at the window and a bit of outdoor seating. Most people are getting their food and leaving. The people sitting on the couches are mostly waiting to get their order and leave. I pulled up around 9:30am on a Saturday and the line was to the door. There were about 10 people in line before me and it took about 10 minutes to get to the front and only 5 minutes to get my goodies. Congratulations Ash! If they were open on Sundays I would have gone back the next day for another tres leches and a beverage. Yummy high-quality treat. UPDATE! Came back with my Fiancé. We got the carrot cake, chocolate chip cookie, peanut butter cookie, strawberry matcha, strawberry banana matcha, strawberry tree leches, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was so delicious and balanced. Not too sweet. Chocolate chip cookie was perfect. Cinnamon roll is still a home run. Carrot cake was my Fiancé’s favorite. The matcha is super artisan, the purées taste so fresh. We spent $55 including tip for 7 items. So that’s under $8 each. We will continue to come back. 💕 We arrived in between rushes and actually sat down to enjoy our treats on the couches. Happy to see this place remains busy! UPDATE AGAIN! The chocolate chip cookie stole my heart. 🍪So yummy! It is now tied with the strawberry tres leches as my favorite. Also, I walked in on a Thursday at 3:58 right before they closed at 4pm. No line, no wait. And they threw in some extra goodies in my order. 🥰 Lifelong customer. 💕
Finally got to try the matcha, and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you Max!! Also, a big thank you to Courtney, the greeter, who was so sweet and welcoming. The banana load bread is always a delight! Great experience overall!
I drove aaallll the way from Victorville (2h 3mins bc of traffic) to try these cookies lol I kept seeing the bakery all over tiktok and as a cookie & sweets lover—I was eager to find time to come down. The cookies were a masterpiece😭 full of flavor, perfectly soft & chewy, delicious, variety of flavors(I tried s’mores, matcha, cornbread & brown sugar) and there’s so much more that I didn’t get to try but those cookies have me in a chokehold 🩷 & my goodness—the MATCHA LATTE?? Fresh, REAL matcha15/10! If I didn’t live so far away, I’d be here every week
I was dying to try a cinnamon roll and popped in after 3pm and there were still plenty :) it did not disappoint !!! the icing is phenomenal & the cinnamon filling is sooooo good. I got an iced americano and it was very refreshing and the girls were all so welcoming. was prepared for a little line but I was in & out in 5 min
I have been having Badash Bakes on my list for awhile, just that it’s tad far away. Knowing they had a collab this week serving Matcha Blondies, I just couldn’t make any more excuse to push it down my to-go list. As expected, weekend and it’s the last day of the collab, made it perfect reason to see long waiting line. Unfortunately they also didn’t do online pre-order on the day (big frowned). The bakery took place at Pasadena’s center of crowd, which was also the arrays of some other popular spots to dine. It’s super cute from the outside, looking like classic elegant French cafe. Going inside at its peak hour was quite overwhelming though as it’s packed with people trying to find spots to stand LOL. Order placement was swift enough considering how busy it was. It might not be a perfect sit down space with that condition and you could indeed see most people order for to-go. All the attendants were so cheerful and welcoming, delivering that positive vibes to shoo away any irritation from the long wait. Besides the Matcha Blondies which brought me there, I was trying to go for the house ‘regulars’ as well to make my drive worthy. Torn between the cinnamon roll and the cookie, I just asked for the attendant’s reco and she told me to opt for the latter, also further convincing me as I picked the Toffee Chocolate Chip cookie saying it’s her fave. Well, needless to say much, the picture of the Matcha Blondies could tell you how fudgy and rich it was, worth every single calorie I spent on it. The matcha flavor stood out as strong as the color could tell you, with impeccable balance between sweet and pleasing bitter hint. I would highly pitch for keeping it permanently (pretty please)! As for the cookie, if you’re thin and chewy cookie gang, I could see you loving it. It’s a matter of preference, but I’m still within the boat of thick gooey one. Taste wise it’s pretty decent with generous mix-ins. They did offer much more flavors to try. Would come back for their cinnamon rolls or the matcha drinks another time!
Great overall experience. Arrived and had a 5-10 minute wait in line. Got an iced coffee, a 2 regular cinnamon rolls and a matcha cinnamon roll (lol it was eaten before the pics were taken). Delicious, although the matcha flavor was very mild. Very cute spot with limited indoor and outdoor seating, but managed to snag a table outside. Will definitely be returning!
Everything was a 15/10! I typically don't have a strong sweet tooth, but this was by far the best cinnamon roll I have tried in my life. I've been waiting to try BadAsh Bakes after seeing numerous positive reviews and buzz around the opening; and let me tell you, this exceeded my expectations by far! 10/10 Cinnamon Roll: Every bite of the original cinnamon roll played a musical symphony on my taste buds: fluffy, soft, gooey, fresh, and perfectly balanced with the cinnamon and whipped frosting - all of which was not overly sweet (sometimes desserts can be overpowered with sugar). 10/10 Matcha Cinnamon Roll: Perfection *chef's kiss* You tasted the matcha flavor that complimented the cinnamon roll so well. Again, fluffy, soft, gooey, and fresh. 10/10 Double Foam Matcha Latte: Spectacular. The notes and flavors of the matcha powder was prominent, without being overly chalky. The matcha foam created a nice, creamy salty/sweet harmonious sip to the palette. 10/10 S'mores Cookie: Gooey, crispy, chocolaty and marshmellow-y center - like a bite of pure bliss! I've been itching to come back and order everything again! Fantastic job Ashley! 🎉

Badash Bakes is an absolute gem! The customer service is top tier—friendly, attentive, and fast. I waited less than 10 minutes from ordering to having my food and drink in hand, which is rare these days. The environment is spotless and welcoming, the kind of place where you can imagine sitting for hours, reading a good book, and just soaking in the atmosphere. Parking is straightforward: there’s shared parking in the lot right out front, and plenty of street parking nearby, so navigating here is stress-free. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or looking for a cozy spot to relax, Badash Bakes delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend

Soooo good! The line was out the door but I was in and out in about 15min. I got a Brown Sugar cookie, Smores cookie, Cinnamon roll, banana bread and strawberry matcha latte. The matcha was ok but everything else was great. My boyfriend can’t stop talking about it! We will be back!
This is a Black woman owned bakery serving up delicious pastries. The banana bread is outstanding. The cookies are thin and chewy. The thing I enjoyed most across the board is that the baked goods I purchased were not overly sweet but sweet enough. I WILL BE GOING BACK. what I ordered was banana bread, classic cinnamon roll, oatmeal raisin cookie,s'more cookie, toffee chocolate chip cookie and tiramisu cake. It was all good but my #1choice that I will be back for is the banana bread.

Looking for a sweet treat to share with your loved ones this Valentine's Day? Look no further than this amazing bakery my sister and I visited! We tried the Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll, Classic Cinnamon, Coffee Cake, Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cornbread Cookies and White Chocolate Macadamia. And let me tell you, they were all absolutely delicious! My personal favorite has always been the Classic Cinnamon rolls. They're so moist and flavorful, even days later! The red velvet cinnamon rolls were a close second though. The coffee cake was perfect, the cookies were to die for, and our Hot Americano was served fresh and hot. The only downside was the long wait - we stood in line for an hour on Valentine's Day! But the friendly staff and amazing treats made it worth it. Just make sure to plan ahead for parking, as they don't have a lot. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend checking them out for yourself! #SweetTreats #ValentinesDayDelight 😋🧁☕️
Classic Cinnamon Roll - I enjoy a good old-fashioned cinnamon roll from Cinnabon. To me they just get it right. And this cinnamon roll felt like an elevated version of that. Ridiculously gooey and soft, it felt like eating a cinnamon cloud. Definitely something I would purchase again, there’s a stronger cinnamon flavor than Cinnabon as well that I really enjoyed. I know there’s a matcha cinnamon roll, but I’m tired of matcha being shoved down my throat. Banana Pudding - Really tasty. Fresh banana flavor with some nice chunks inside. However, with the Howlin Rays Pasadena location being close by, I’d rather get the banana pudding from there. Cookies - Pictured above is the s’mores cookie. I also tried the chocolate chip cookie and red velvet cookie. Of the three, the s’mores cookie was my favorite. The marshmallow is really chewy and a fun texture. However, it didn’t really feel like a s’mores cookie, tasted like a chocolate chip cookie with marshmallow in it. Not life-changing, but good. I forgot to take pictures of the chocolate chip and red velvet cookies, but I did enjoy the chocolate chip, but it wasn’t anything special in my opinion and not something I’d go out of my way to order from there. The red velvet cookie was also very disappointing, definitely the item I liked the least. I could not taste any red velvet flavor at all. Very disappointing. On the other hand, I tried a bit of their red velvet cake my friend shared with me and really enjoyed it. If you want red velvet, I’d recommend skipping the cookie and getting the slice of cake. Strawberry Tres Leches - I forgot to take a picture of this as well because I was so excited to try it and I devoured it. I love tres leches and this was damn near perfect. If I could recommend one thing, I’d say this is the item, but it’s hard to say because people have different expectations and styles of tres leches that they prefer. A lot of tres leches I’ve had out here tends to be either very wet, almost to an extreme, or way too dry to even be considered tres leches. I think it’s also a cake that can easily become overly sweet, but Bad Ash Bakes has a perfect harmony. It is spongy and moist, nice and cold, and perfectly sweet with a nice strawberry flavor throughout. I’ve never described tres leches like this before, but I found it oddly refreshing. Overall, I think the hype for their cinnamon rolls is well deserved and the tres leches was a standout item. I would definitely go out of my way again for these two items. Everything else except for the red velvet cookie was good but definitely not the best of the best in my opinion. I think if you come in with insanely high expectations from online reviews, there’s a good chance you will leave a tad disappointed, regardless of how good the items are. I’ll definitely be trying more items whenever I can. The inside is cozy, seating is limited, you need to find street parking, and there is no restroom.
Line wasn’t too long when I went but the matcha cinnamon rolls were sold out, made it in time for one of the last regular rolls. It was soft and tasty, the apple note was very welcome. Wish the frosting was more creamy. The coffee cake, lemon cake, red velvet cookie, and chocolate cookie were average unfortunately. For the hype, wait time, and price overall I was hoping for more.
Was sad to see FrenchiFornia close up after 5+ years in Pasadena and wondered what would take over the retail space. After the signage went up for Badash Bakes, posts all over IG started popping up about their unique baked goods. I was definitely intrigued with their matcha cinnamon roll. Every time we walked or drove by, we'd see a line and finally decided to stop by on a Thursday at around 1130. Though they had patrons dining inside and out, there wasn't a line to place an order! As they clearly state that cinnamon rolls are served until 12 and cookies are served after 12, we were fortunate to be able to sample both items. Matcha cinnamon roll - this was then one item I was excited to try as it was very unique. After trying it, not sure I like the combination of matcha and cinnamon. The only difference between the matcha and regular is simply with the icing. Cinnamon roll - thought this was the best item we sampled. Though it wasn't hot, I thought it was perfectly baked with the perfect amount of cinnamon and icing. Would definitely come back for this in the morning. Cookies - we ended up ordering a dozen (doubled up on both the matcha and toffee chocolate chip). Had high hopes as all of videos on IG kept stating how good they were but wasn't impressed with them. The best in my opinion was the toffee chocolate chip and the s'mores due to the uniqueness. I think I'd rather have a Levain or b. patisserie cookie if craving one. As we took the items home for consumption, didn't try their drinks so may have to come back for that another day. Will also be interesting to compare their banana pudding against Magnolia's.

One of the newest businesses in Pasadena as of January 2025. Been hyped like crazy all over the Internet. There's always a line outside of the shop. It doesn't really help they only open four days a week, so come get your fix while you can. To be quick, Badash offers cookies, banana pudding, banana bread, cake slices, coffee drinks, and some other stuff like brownies and cinnamon rolls. Service was alright; the line moves quickly. I haven't tried the cookies yet, but I have tried the cinnamon rolls and s'mores brownies. Overall very good, even if they do use Ghirardelli brownie mix. Only problem is, the shop is a bit too small to accommodate everybody. You most likely will be waiting for some time in very cramped space, as we were both occasions I've been here. They offer a few tables and seats, although they are always occupied. I don't see any public bathrooms, either. Would come back if craving sweets in this area!
