Had a burger and a bun at The Macintosh in Phoenix and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. The place has a great vibe, and you can tell they focus on quality ingredients and solid execution. The burger was juicy and well cooked, and everything tasted fresh. My only small note is that the BBQ sauce was a bit heavy for my personal taste and slightly overpowered some of the other flavors. That said, this is purely subjective and didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the meal. I appreciated the balance, presentation, and atmosphere, and I’d absolutely come back again. A great spot if you’re looking for comfort food done well with a modern touch.
This place felt fairly ordinary overall, not the best but not disappointing either. The burger was okay, nothing particularly memorable, while the French fries were actually quite good. The brisket was also good and probably the highlight of the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service—the waitresses were extremely polite, friendly, and welcoming, which definitely made the experience more enjoyable despite the average food.
Excellent experience here a few weeks ago! Ambiance is casual but still intimate. Service was very good. I reviewed the menu before coming in and stuck with what I originally wanted: the Brussels sprouts to start and the chicken Waldorf salad as my entree. Wow! The Brussels sprouts were so good — balsamic glaze, bacon and garlic all came together for an addicting appetizer. I probably could have eaten another portion by myself. For my entree, the salad was absolutely delicious and everything I love in a salad: fresh arugula tossed in a perfect amount of dressing and cheese with dried cranberry, red onion, radish and their rotisserie chicken. It was so exceptional that I came back soon after for a pick up order of the same salad while I was passing by. Everything here is fresh and very well done! Happy hour is a great opportunity as well. This place also offers daily specials — definitely check it out when you are able to!
Can't wait to try again. We happen to go during Happy Hour on a Sunday evening after a long day on our feet. Not one thing disappointed us. From friendly staff, amazing food/selection, kids menu, great wine🍷, comfortable environment, warm towels delivered post consumption, clean restrooms, etc. You name it & these folks have it covered. Great way to wrap up a long day👍 Thank you again. -Mason
Our server Chris was awesome. Friendly and attentive without hovering. He made great menu suggestions and didn't let a drink run out before asking about a refill. The food was excellent, we had a really nice time.
Everything was really good! We had the homemade smoked salmon and biscuits to share, then we all had our own plates. Everything was great! The service was fast and made sure our waters were full.
Outstanding! Bravo! Had an amazing date night here for restaurant week and we have already decided we will be coming back here on a more frequent basis. Our server was Madison, she was incredible. Very knowledgeable and friendly and always came by at just the right time. Our food was sooo flavorful and delicious! I don’t even like pecan pie but I tried a piece of my hubbys and it was easily one of the best things I have ever tried. The ambience was perfect, the restaurant very aesthetically pleasing, a great selection of music was playing in the background, I literally have NO complaints about this place. Keep up the amazing work!
We are so happy we chose to celebrate a graduation at The Macintosh. The food, service, and restaurant provided the perfect elevated dining experience for the occasion. The brussel sprouts were a crowd favorite! All of our dishes exceeded our expectations. Even the water was delicious! Another favorite dish was the salmon and orzo. The flavors were on point! We will definitely return next time we are in town.
This is the one of our favorite restaurants in Pheonix. The food has been amazing every time and the service is top notch. Usually here for dinner, but it’s good anytime. That ribs and check are amazing. However, the Waldorf Chicken Salad is one of the best things I have ever eaten and I’m not even a salad person really. Give it a try, You won’t regret it!
On a business trip and came to Macintosh. Maddy was amazing with explaining all the great options. The creamy Burrata and Toast a must have, Amazing! This was recommended by Maddie great choice. The food was so hot and amazing and the service was even better!
I can't say enough about this place the ambiance was warm and welcoming , and the food was amazing. The service was top notch and our waitress Maddie was phenomenal. Very attentive and very giving she gave my girlfriend and I a dessert on the house. We will definitely be back to try more of the things on the menu. I had gotten the brisket sandwich, it was very tasty.
Great place, indoor and outdoor seating with a variety of configurations. Awesome food We enjoyed the bacon macaroni, pork chops and tortilla soup along with some great beers. Highly recommend. Our first time here and we will definitely plan to go back. Ample parking, parking lot Easy access for anyone Good prices Quick service Clean
The experience didn't start with my food, it started with the hostess Sophia. Honestly I was lost and thought this was the pizza place (which I later learned was around the corner). Sophia not only pointed me in the right direction but told me how amazing the food was here through our conversation. I went to the pizza place and didn't have it in me to wait 45mins. So I came back to my bestie Sophia. She shared her fave dish was 'Cowboy' Baby Back Ribs. My server Zoe shared the special for the day and I got that -- Meatloaf with a mushroom gravy, potato's, and spinach and kale. Look this food was so good I wanted to see if they had one back home to clearly invest with my patronage. Drink: Muddled Berry with Ginger Ale and Mint -- so so so good. 10/10 would drink again Food: Meatloaf with a mushroom gravy, potato's, and spinach and kale -- so flavorful and moist and just delightful. 10/10 would recommend. Dessert: Dark Chocolate Brownie -- 10/10 would recommend. Overall, I loved my experience and the food. The atmosphere in here is so chill and grown. I love everything about the execution of this whole restaurant. The people in PHX are lucky and need to know it!!
A few months ago we happened upon The Macintosh while attempting to dine at Pizzeria Bianco across the way. Fortunately for us, the pizza place had a wait time of 3+hrs (ridiculous). Starving our group decided to try out Macintosh- all I can say is we hit the jackpot! (It helped the wait was only 5min compared to 3+hrs at the other place) This visit was just as good as the first visit. The biscuits are amazing and melt in your mouth, the margaritas have an egg white beaten in it to give a frothy taste and it takes it to the next level. I had the brisket sandwich which melted in my mouth and the coleslaw on top gave it just enough zing and crunch to make it superb. Hubby had the NOLA red beans and rice, which was very authentic to its southern roots, almost as if you were in the South eating in New Orleans. Ended the dinner with the butterscotch pecan pie. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. The vibe is energetic but kind of cozy. My hubby and I both kept saying how do you go to a restaurant and ALL the food is delicious no matter what you order?! We live in Goodyear and happily made the drive to Macintosh to have amazing food, great service with palette pleasing drinks. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Awesome flavors going on here. Burger was real meat (not a frozen puck), juicy, food was scalding hot. Nice atmosphere. Best burger I've had in Phoenix and that's saying a lot. Rotisserie chicken was also tender n juicy and full of flavors. You must try the Buttermilk pesto sauce.... Wow.... Onion Rings were fried perfect! Great! Great! Great! Jodie and Kathie are great servers. We came back with 4 and ALL of our food was perfect. Laura was amazing. Textures here are extreme and exact! You must try the Butterscotch Pecan pie. Top to bottom incredible!
This was hands down the best meal we experienced while visiting Phoenix. The restaurant was well decorated and had a very nice vibe inside. The drinks were strong and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful in recommending dishes. Every dish we ordered was on point and delicious. I would absolutely return the next time I am in Phoenix.
Category: Elevated Comfort Food. An open and airy elevated casual spot with cut-above comfort food. The exposed steel-trussed ceiling and HVAC system give this spot a quasi-industrial feel. We like the busy U-shaped black granite bar with red leather high-backed stools, where we like to dine if it's just the two of us, so we can people watch across the bar. For people who need TVs, the bar has them facing all sides. U-shaped booths border the front windows, high tops for four populate the area past the bar, and steel-framed butcher block regular tables can be found near the booths. There is an Edison-bulbed outdoor patio for al fresco dining. I saw heaters for cool weather and fans for hot, but I'm not sure about misters. The menu is an eclectic mix of classics (Caesar and Waldorf Salads, maybe with a house twist), burgers, and elevated comfort food mains (baby backs, blackened ahi, salmon risotto, Duroc pork chop), and New Orleans fare. In fact, it seems like the chef's heart is in NOLA (we often feel that way too). In addition to standard menu items you’d find in the French Quarter (shrimp and grits, blackened redfish, red beans & rice), the recurring daily specials posted on a sandwich board outside are straight from The Big Easy (etouffe, NOLA swordfish). We happily shared the Roti + Rib Combo, very tasty, very generous chicken and ribs. The beer choices are plenty and there is a sufficient number of red wines under $50. Excellent service. Very tasty! I've been wanting to go here for a while. Our waitress was very versatile, she was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and handmade my refreshing cocktail, her creation! Blackberry, mint, and lemon all played together so nice, featured in the photo below. The chicken and waffles were off the hook per my Dad, they smelled scrumptious, and were gone. To top it all off they had etch-a-sketch for my daughter to play, what a great idea! See you again soon!
From the team behind Collins Small Batch Kitchen is the Macintosh. Just as with Collins, the food and service are 5 star. A friend had recommended the smoked salmon appetizer and it was indeed the best smoked salmon I've ever had. The bartender was super friendly as was all the staff. Another standout was the key lime pie. Update. The short rib is a must have. So good - very tender and savory.
I would absolutely recommend The Macintosh for an amazing dinner with friends and family, OR to take a date that you’d like to impress and connect with. First of all, the shopping center which houses the Macintosh is filled with delicious little gems, but you should certainly make stopping here your priority. Our server, Mary, highly suggested many of the items off of their lengthy menu and we weren’t let down a bit. We started with the ‘Common Ground Brussels’ that absolutely blew my mind with their tasty, charred little bits accompanied by juicy bacon and the balsamic glaze that gives a nice bite. Left me wanting another order! Next up was the ‘Bag o Bones’ from their happy hour menu. The simple bag presentation, filled with perfectly cut shoestring fries, fall off the bone ribs, and their house ‘Crack Sauce’ was just what we needed before our entrees. I personally had the ‘Twisted Noodle Salad’ which I opted to have topped with shrimp. An amazing combo of tons of ingredients that won’t steer you wrong! Fortunately, our group decided that we were all up for a family dinner style meal and shared our plates throughout our visit. This means I also got to try the French Street Gumbo, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Grassroots Vegetable Chop salad, and their specialty BBQ plate. Amazing food, and amazing service by both our waitress Mary and the rest of the staff. From the moment I stepped in and mentioned our reservation, the hostess was so sweet and kind, and gladly walked me over to a reserved table on the patio while I waited for the rest of my group to arrive. Thanks so much for a great dinner - We’ll definitely be back for more!
This is a fantastic place to eat and hang out! The food is amazing, kudos to the Chef!!
We ate here in March but didn't get the review in until now. This is a good place for a date night, or nice dining with friends & colleagues. Food was delicious & the biscuits were so good. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation & wine options were many & varied. Most were dressed nicely for dinner, didn't notice shorts or many T-shirts here. Had to mark one star off on service as someone didn't come in so our server was stretched thin among the tables resulting in a longer than usual wait for our food. We'll definitely return & bring some friends.
This is one of our favorite restaurants to frequent. We enjoy the atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. This last visit was especially note worthy because the bartender Tanner who waited on us was super kind providing the best customer service. We just wanted to say thank you for serving us with a smile and overwhelming us with your kindness.
The wife and I went for our 24th anniversary. Looked all over the valley for something different that out usual fare. I went with the special, Meatloaf [pork/beef] with smashed potatoes. The wife had the chicken with onion rings. The meatloaf is obviously made by the staff. It is filling, meaty, porky, and seasoningy. The potatoes are the star of the plate. The chicken was cooked perfectly. For desert, we took home a pecan pie and bread pudding. I love a good pecan pie, but fancied the pudding more. This place is not cheap, like sushi expensive. But the quality of the food can demand a higher price. The staff and service add a nice touch to an important dinner.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Savana made our visit unforgettable. From start to finish, she was friendly, professional, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely loves what they do, and it shows. Great food + outstanding service = perfect night!
Awesome Happy Hour! Really loved this experience and atmosphere. The food was great and I highly recommend the poutine. I would recommend this place for any kind of night (friends, date, etc.). The menu has a good variety of foods with some high quality ingredients. The service was AMAZING. Stephanie and Ella were the two different waitresses I have had in my 2 visits so far and I cannot say enough great things about them. They are the definition of customer service!
Good stuff. 1st time. Will be back. Tuna poke appetizer and charred Brussels with bacon/garlic were off the chart..
I purposely went here tonight cuz of the crazy lady leaving the 1 star. This is a very good restaurant and you need to visit this place. I love the decor. The area is on the upper scale, but I slummed up well! I had the scallop special and a shrimp pi boy....the scallops were perfect opaque and flavor was fabulous. The shrimp in the po boy was tender and very good. Shared the burrata with others and had many flavors...very good. Then polished off a key lime pie...smooth creamy and not too tart. Beautiful meal and we had a great time. Server was on point. This place is a gem....loved it. I'll be back!1
This place is fantastic! Food tastes just as good as it looks. Positive service and clean environment. Very pleased with this place and would recommend.
We really enjoyed a nice Sunday evening dinner out in the patio. Service was great & food came quickly.
This is a great place for special occasions and regular everyday dinner or lunch. Food was good and the astosphetre was nice. Beers are good. Burgers are good. Salads were good. Nice local spot that is not too crowded and has outdoor eating as well don't worry about the heat the misters are on and keep you cool!
Went to The Macintosh recently and the food was amazing. The brussel sprouts are a must try. The presentation was unique and the flavors were so good together. My dessert was the Pecan Pie I cannot stop raving about. It was unlike any pecan pie I've ever had before, but tasted amazing. My brisket sandwich was tender and flavorful! I'd definitely go back. The entire atmosphere in there was just a great experience.
I love this restaurant! From the time we entered to the time we left, everyone was super nice and efficient. Our server, Max, was helpful and attentive. We had sandwiches and fries. My fish sandwich was amazing, and everyone loved the skinny fries! We will definitely be back!
The atmosphere and food are great! Hanna our server did such an amazing job. She brought everything we asked for and was very polite. Our group will be definitely coming again and we recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat delicious food and have great service!
I’ve lived in the area for several years and have never tried this restaurant. Some friends invited me to dinner and suggested this place. First impression was the parking lot – nearly impossible to find a place to park. However, that’s not the restaurant’s fault. We were immediately shown to our table and provided water while we decided what to order. I opted for the Nordic salmon and risotto with garlic-brussels risotto, sautéed spinach + kale and compound butter. I love salmon, but am reticent to order it at restaurants because I am always worried about it being overcooked. However, I hoped that a restaurant of this caliber would be able to properly cook salmon. And, I was not disappointed. The salmon was well cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The compound butter was on top of the salmon and the spinach/kale was between the risotto and salmon. There were very few brussels in the risotto, but it was still really creamy and delicious. Our server, Chris, was very friendly and a great asset to the restaurant. Now that I’ve discovered this place, I will return more often.
Consistently great food and service. Price is Right and the location is perfect. My only critique... The bartender didn't know what Port was when I asked if he had any. Come on brother. Can't be a bartender not know what Port is.
Had a great meal at The McIntosh. I ordered the bag of bones with shoestring fries, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Flavorful, messy in the right way, and done right. The fries were crisp and hard to stop eating. My wife had the rotisserie chicken with asparagus and we shared the salmon and orzo salad. Both were excellent. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, and the salmon salad was fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. Everything we had was wonderful, and the service was perfect. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced. It made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The McIntosh is one of those places you leave already planning to come back to. Grateful Traveler’s Note 🌿
We would be regulars if we lived closer. Outstanding happy hour. The service is very good. The food is very good with only a few clunkers. We ordered boat load of wings 3.5/5, shrimp remoulade 5/5, short rib 'creole' poutine 5/5, crispy chicken biscuit 4/5, 'cowboy' bbq sliders 4/5, blackened shrimp risotto 5/5 and dark chocolate brownie 5/5. Nice atmosphere and location.
The place is super clean the menus is good. On my taste the rotisserie chicken was to salty I had to water it down with water. The onions were crispy and the fries were perfectly cooked. I was not offer the so card to get a freee appetizer the table on back of me was offer I was not
I truly enjoyed stumbling into this place. I had walked into Twin Peaks (chain restaurant ) which was next door to my hotel. I wanted a cold beer/drink and DEFINITELY some FOOD. (the place was pretty quiet) see that Happy Hour was over. SADLY after 15-20 minutes without service I walked out. Thank GOODNESS 'THE MACINTOSH' just around the corner in the same shipping center made my long day of travel WORTHY! FOOD, SERVICE AND COMFORT...
(4.5 stars if it would let me) Place for American cuisine. I was staying near for business and had a lot of the menu. The chicken tortilla soup is worth checking this place out alone. The rib and chicken plate was big and tasty. And I loved the Brussels sprouts (in fact it was too large as they warn it is for 2) The pie was also huge and delicious I would not recommend the steak as it was not remarkable but check out Monday fried chicken night.
The onion rings were great! Fresh and came with a unique sauce that tastes like it has a hint of bbq. The brisket sandwich was pretty good. I liked it better than the burger. It has a lot of flavor to it. The coleslaw pairs well with the sandwich. The burger was tender and a great entree also. We had someone grab our drink order and he was pleasant and welcoming. Our server, not so much. The server looked unhappy and seemed perturbed. Good vibes not allowed.
The service was good. The environment was nice. The food was pretty good, if a little over seasoned. A good way to describe it would be "a northerners take on southern food". It was very overpriced for what it was. We would go back if someone wanted to go there but not our first choice.
I ordered the Salmon salad and it was good. Once the waitress found out that I was from Georgia she raved about the grits. She actually brought out a plate of them for me to try and I'll have to admit they were good. I thought that the jalapeños would take away from the taste by making it too spicy but the grits were creamy and had just enough cheese.
What a great spot, and I'm glad I dined here. Met up with a potential colleague, and he chose Macintosh. The ambiance is chill, casual dining, and the interior decor is beautiful. Food & Drinks: Crown Royal with a cube of ice. Housemade Smoked Salmon Duroc Pork Chop with shoestring fries and candied pancetta The smoked salmon was devine!!! I would highly recommend it. The crackers seemed like it was toasted with butter. We had to order more crackers because the ratio of crackers and salmon is not enough. Not their fault, I should have put more salmon to even it out. The Duroc Pork Chop was tender and flavorful. I loved every bite. I was not a fan of the fries as it was cold. The pancetta was a great topping. Overall, I'd return again when I'm in Phoenix and would recommend this spot. Wish I remembered our servers name. She was really nice.
Nice open restaurant with a good-sized patio. I wasn't impressed with the crispy chicken sandwich. The breast was too thin and breading almost as thick. The customer service is great, though. On a second visit, I had the brisket sandwich, and it was excellent! The Butterscotch Pecan Pie is delicious.
Food was average and bordering on less than average. The baby back ribs were dry and quite meatless. Another in our party said the salmon was awful. Seating was also pretty bad considering a reservation was made.
OMG!! I ate the Southnern Shrimp and Grits last night and they tasted good. The black pepper was a mild spicy but nothing hot. However about 10 hours later, I woke up in pain from the peppers burning my insides as they make their way out. This ruined my day...do not eat unless u want to be in pain later. Restaurant should give warning about hotness. It felt like I ate a Haviari pepper.
Nice restaurant, quiet, good service. not cheap. After sleeping on my review I have to edit it. Two hamburgers, requested medium well. The burgers were medium rare. We should have sent them back. I noticed the kitchen staff was not the least bit busy, the restaurant only had a few tables. You would think at twenty dollars a piece that they could get it right. Only the edges were cooked properly. We will not be back.
One star review based purely on poor service and communication! A schedule power outage was given to the entire complex! But, Macintosh rolled the dice and remained opened! 1/2 through our wine, total black out and the server was unhelpful and wanted to write down manually our credit card information? not so secure. We Asked to speak to the manager, whom ever it was, avoided our table like the plague. Needless to say we found just enough cash less a tip for the experience! Seriously, has customer service totally gone out the window there?
