Very quick service and the food is always delicious. If you’re not a local, you need to know that this place has some of the best white queso out of all the Mexican restaurants around. It’s pretty thin, but that honestly just provides better coverage and it helps it stay dippable at room temperature.

Have been coming here since it opened. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Pineville. Always great service and perfect food. Princess aren't bad either. Fiesta Nachos are still my all time favorite!

Food is excellent with fast service. I was a little disappointed with last visit all though food was good I was up with upset stomach don't know for sure if it was the food so still 5 stars. If it was the food I ate a lot more of the pico won't do that again .

Always good food and a good atmosphere! We love to go here for date night or family night. Waiters are always prompt and polite. Food is always cooked very well and tastes great! If there are any problems, they do not hesitate to fix the order with no fuss or extra charge.

I go here for lunch often because it's so close to where I work. I absolutely LOVE this place. The staff is SO wonderful and the steak fajita bowl is to die for!! They are super quick and I never have to wait more than a few minutes to be seated, if that. One of my favorite spots!

We have been eating at this place since they open in Pineville, Louisiana. Friendly staff, delicious food, and great atmosphere. Child, friendly, And reasonably priced. Our family will definitely keep coming back here as long as they are open. They will always have our business!!

I went here today during lunch time. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean. They were prompt with refilling drinks and keeping constant salsa and chips at the table. I was impressed until we got our food..then I was blown away. It was delicious. Each type of meat on my plate had it's own distinct flavor, nothing was under or overcooked and it was seasoned very well. The prices are more than fair for the amount of food that you get. It's a great establishment and I will be returning. Make sure to try the queso.

We walked in the door 40 minutes before closing, expecting to be told we were too late. It didn't happen! Instead, we were seated & never rushed! The waiter was attentive, kind, & helpful. We ordered quickly & our food arrived in record time. It was ALL delicious. When we were ready to go, we were offered drinks for the road. We got out the door 5 minutes before closing, laughing with the guy at the counter about how our kid could do dishes to pay for their part of the meal. **We don't make a habit of trying to get in the door at the last minute. A generous tip was left for their trouble. And we were still not the last ones out the door. We'll be back again soon!

The food is always good. Waiters are super nice. However, have exact change for the candy at the register bc I spent 1.50 and gave him 2.00 he just took my money threw in a jar without giving me my change and seemed put off that I got candy for my kids to begin with.

Very good food. I always order the ribeye con Cameron (never go wrong with surf and turf). The salsa with tortilla chips are so good. I always buy a pound of it to bring home.

The service here is extremely fast and Friendly. My entree was delivered to the table less than 10 minutes after ordering. Everything was great, Carne Asada still sizzling when it was brought to the table!

My wife and I went in and we weren't really hungry just wanted something good to eat so we split a surf and turf with queso on it (not sure what its called on the menu) and it was exceptionally flavorful! Always have great food and fast service at this place! Bets mexican restaurant in Kingsville! The food is always hot but not burn your mouth hot with exceptional flavor on anything I've ever ordered there. If you're looking for somewhere that won't disappoint this is the place you need to be.

The first thing I noticed about Los Portales Mexican restaurant is how spotless the floor is. The restaurant is compact, but in an arrangement that gives the pleasant feeling of spaciousness. The temperature was perfect. The wait-staff is pleasant and competent. The menu is large and impressive. The portions were perfect for me; not overly large. The lunch and dinner portions are different, as they should be, which accounts for a slight price difference between lunch and dinner. The meals I tried over a couple of visits were fresh, authentic, very tasty and satisfying. I initially gave a "hard" four stars overall. But compared to the many other Mexican restaurants I've reviewed, Los Portales deserves Five Stars. I plan to be a regular customer, and I will bring guests with me.

We stopped for lunch and was not disappointed. The wife got the fajita chimichanga while I opted for the enchilada supreme lunch special. Our food was ready in no time and was hot when delivered. It tasted great and soon we were done. The folks working here were prompt and courteous. There was no large crowd to fight through. A nice dining experience.

Good Mexican food, with quick service. Restaurant is clean and tidy, but very crowded, like they have placed tables/booths too close together. I've frequented there many times, and never received a meal I didn't enjoy.

Server was great. Fajita meat was good. The rest of the food was ok, but kinda "canned"...beans were from a can, guacamole was mediocre premade stuff, enchilada was a floppy tortilla wrapped around ground beef with sauce dumped over. Presentation of runny beans running into running enchilada sauce wasn't pretty. Maybe serve in a bowl...or use better beans?

My favorite Mexican in the Alexandria/Pineville area. Always need a go plate. Definitely worth it. Food is great. I think prices are extremely good . It's 2 meals for the price of 1 because of the amount. I just went back Saturday. Try the loaded potato. Can't remember the exact name. But great.

Great customer service, food was amazing really good options for the whole family. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is due to the size of the burritos I recived. The name of the dish was deceiving it said two burritos but what I got was basically two enchiladas with a little more meat. But aside from that 10 out of 10 recommend

The food was delicious. I always enjoy a good Mexican restaurant, and I love how no 2 are really the same taste wise. I had the shrimp chimicanga and it was delicious. Mostly places don't actually put alot of Shrimp in the dish but mine was very full. Everything was delicious and was served in a timely manner. Very clean place, friendly and attentive staff. The only thing I will say that is a downside, was that I didn't see a drink(alcohol) menu. I saw there were non alcoholic daquaris, which you usually don't see these days. But other than that, will definitely return in the future.

The service was excellent, they brought my food so fast I thought they were giving me someone else's meal. The Food tastes great.

The service here is top notch. The waiters and waitress are friendly and attentive and always take the time say hi especially if you're a regular. The food and atmosphere is on par with what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It's all good. But the people that work there is what makes this place special.

The place is very generic in it's look. Very clean the staff is friendly and accomodating. The food was very good. I ordered a Molcajete, a surf, turf, desert and air kinda thing. Served in a vocanic rock carved pig, Molcajete, it has shrimp, cactus, steak, chicken, chorizo, sauteed peppers and onions and fork tender pork chunks. With all this in a single dish it can very easily go wrong fast, this however does not quite the opposite. It was tasty, well executed and all the flavors complemented rather than fought each other. The frijoles charros were fine as was the accompanying lettuce, sour cream and guacamole Wich when added to the main dish made it better. I paired it with agüa de Jamaica and I must say the sweet tangy flavor fit the meal. Overall it was Good I downgraded it more on the presentation, after all you eat with your eyes first. If the ingredients were displayed on the Molcajete rather than piled on it would look more appealing. All in all it was good and just under $20 excluding tip.

3 stars only because the service was fantastic. The food on the other hand.....was not. The queso was like white water. The salsa like runny ketchup. The rice had no flavor whatsoever. Definitely not very authentic Mexican food. I think a white person owns this place. The food was more like someone tried to make mexican food and did their best but its just not quite right to be serving at a mexican restaurant.

This is a Pineville Rebel territory eatery. After a winning game night Mexican food is basic. My friends and I have eaten here many times. This establishment creates consistent dishes. The elders in my community find this restaurant to be more of a Tex-Mex restaurant. The entrées are not spicy. Also, I bring my own hot sauce because the restaurant doesn’t have any. Remember on Sundays there is not a lunch menu. The location is in the center of a strip mall connecting the parking lot to Wal-Mart. I always order queso dip. It never fails to satisfy. The guacamole appetizer tasted bland. Our entrée was cooked to perfection. The male servers are present and quick to help with any concerns. The chef’s twist on the Mexican dishes to satisfy the communities pallets. Oh yeah, there are not any alcoholic beverages, but the sweet tea was wonderful. I encourage you to look at my photos.

In Virginia we serve margaritas with our Mexican. The food gets them a three. I had chicken nachos and they were good. Shouldn't have to buy the sour cream and pico da gallo separate (😏) and it needed some heat.

It's *okay* for your typical Texmex, but the service continues to go downhill! Always slow, never attentive, staff doesn't seem to really care about their customers. Much better places in Alexandria!

The waiter was not on top of his tables. He brought out the adult's food before bringing the children's food (and it wasn't back to back, there was time between) Our fiesta nachos had barely any cheese on them at all this time. I just did not have a good time.

Typical strip mall mexican place with nothing special, but food was good, and salsa is average. When you are this plain, you can only set yourself apart with great service, and that was also not up to expectations. We were seated at about 12:50, and place was not overly busy. We waited 10 minutes before chips and salsa arrived, and our tea and water was anotber 5 or 6 min. Thankfully, we were not in a hurry. Realizing good help is hard for everyone to find right now, we did just make the best of it and did not complain.

As a long time fan, my experience today for lunch was disheartening. Enchilada Suizas came with luke warm (at best) chicken and beef enchiladas, and the cheese enchilada didn't even have the cheese melted except for the very edge. Rice and beans were warm, but the entire plate lacked the flavor it used to have. Bland and luke warm. Yuck

Mexican food for seniors and the weak of heart. The salsa was comparable to spicy ketchup. I orders two salsa Verde burritos, they came drenched in some type of generic white cheese sauce and about a tablespoon of salsa verde. The rice was bland. The chips were fresh and the service was excellent.

So first of all, I ordered cheese enchiladas and a side of rice to go. Chips and Salsa automatically come with the meal. The person who took my order, repeated it back to me. The hotel we are staying at is 5 minutes away. I pick up my order. Don't check it( that is on me) I get back to the hotel and open up the containers. I had cheese quesadillas(not what I asked for for) with that being said. The cheese was not even melted, they were barely even warm. The rice is very bland and the salsa...is nothing more than tomato sauce. There is no heat, not even a little kick of spice in the salsa. Needless, to say. I will not order from them again.

I usually love Los portals but since I eat usually at a cheaper price item the employees are very rude towards me .... a buddy and I order some tacos and the employee threw the menus we had into the wall went to the back and started drinking an alcoholic beverage and then when we got our food my meal was somewhat correct but my buddy's meal was missing almost everything. And then when we got the ticket I told the guy they needed to be separated he said "no!! U can pay for both "

Was harassed by 2 employees there , after leaving . Was contacted thru messenger by 2 very rude clowns that work there . Will be advising better business bureau and food inspections . I will definitely tell EVERYONE AND BEYOND don't waste your time nor money at this place . Pure Pathethic Service

I have never in my life paid $20 for chips and queso. They are absolutely screwing people out of money and their food isn’t even good. There is not a single other Mexican food restaurant that charges that much and you can garuntee I’ll be going there next time.

Hated it this time it's such a shame it's really good food. But there are boys that work there 5 or 6 all dressed the same that work there they kept talking and we stood there waited and thought we sat ourselves And waited at the table no one came I went to the desk and asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves because y'all were here and didn't seat us the boy said no you were supposed to wait I said we did and you seen us waiting and didn't move so he said okay he will get somebody to us 3 different boys came by and looked at us and turned around and never came back so we just left it's a shame because it's Christmas Eve and it was a nice place we thought. The yucatan on 28 east is awesome and never rude. And it is great food!!☺️

I can't understand why this place has so many stars. They are horrible, period. I ordered food to go to only throw half of it away. The fajitas were cold and more then likely old, the taco supreme was thrown together without cheese😖. The taco salad was embarrassing to say the less😤. Overall I will never give them another dollar for this garbage food. Yuck. What a waste. I could've eaten better at taco bell.

My food was cold and my daughter was charged for cheese that was added to her kids enchilada and the waiter never told her it cost extra. She ordered off the lunch menu for herself and two kids plates off the lunch menu as well and it cost $32.00 for 1 lunch plate and 2 kids lunch plates. My food was 16.00 for my lunch plate and the food was cold and taste less

No Beer!?!? Salsa was tomato sauce, asked for hot salsa they brought me some tomato sauce with what seemed like just black pepper... the food was like luce-warm... not hot... the people are nice... just need to visit another restaurant and get some tips.

Worst dining experience of my life. My first bite of broccoli was full of sand. Was it with malicious intent? Who knows, but I do know that it was full of sand- as if it were dipped into sand. The manager on duty Omar (fake name I'm sure) was very adolescent in his mannerisms and smirking the whole time he was trying to explain away this incident. He said why would there be sand in the food because the sand is out the back door. Again the worst dining experience of my life and I am certainly not done with this.

I visited this restaurant this evening. After we checked out there was a confrontation between the server and my spouse. We asked for a to go drink and was asked if we could say please. Non sense. Of course we left. After we got in the car I noticed the server was trying to video us leaving. Of course this made the situation worse. Words were exchanged. But we continued to leave. Upon arriving at our next destination we noticed that the server and another worker left remarks on our fb page. This will not be tolerated. Im a private detective and this will be reported to the authorities on Monday. Im sure that some of the workers don't have paperwork to even be here. They will all be checked out next surprise visit. We will never dine at this facility again. This is very poor service. Any real professional wouldn't stoop that low. I promise you this will be taken up to the full extent of the law. Harassment will not be tolerated. All I wanted was a to go drink

This Restaurant used to be a Wonderful place to Enjoy Good Mexican Food, especially the Fajitas!! However, the last 3 times, It has been Horrible!!!!! Apparently they are buying the Lowest Quality of Food Products a Restaurant can Purchase. The food taste like it is thrown in a big pot & boiled, then put in the cooler. Then heated in a microwave when ready to serve to a Customer. There is No Sign of Any Type of Grilling the Meat or Vegetables!!!! We used to meet friends there once a week to enjoy Good Food ...... I guess we will find another place to go.

When I got my plate, the was ice cold and tasted like ice. I ordered a burrito and the cheese was not even melted. 10/10 would no recommend.

I ordered the Chile Relleno dinner it filled my stomach but the meat they stuffed it with was dry with no flavor the cheese was more like for nachos than authentic Mexican cheese there's a Walmart across the street that sells Mexican cheese - for that it's hard to give it a star the meat shouldn't be dry it should be cooked in salsa with tomatoes onions and chile and seasoned then stuffed - I would take it off the menu - I didn't try the other food so I've no comment.

The waiter did not bring our drinks did not wait on us until we got his attention. Waited on his regulars before us. Asked for refills never got them. I never leave bad reviews nor not tip very well especially when I have my granddaughter. This is the reason this waiter received no amount of tip. It didn’t hurt his business. But it was a 70$ meal. I will not dine at this location in the future
