Late post: We visited this place on Mother’s Day and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, and we were happy to find great vegetarian options for my parents. The diner has a charming, old-school vibe—definitely a great spot to relax and hang out. Highly recommend!

Breakfast here is great. They have a large selection of homemade pies. It is a great place to eat in Placerville, it has been there for decades. Love the teapot collection and all the vintage decor.

We stopped here at the Buttercup pantry on our way to Apple Hill and the service was spot on, an absolutely fantastic server…The food was really tasty. All of us enjoyed our meals… I had breakfast which was cooked to perfection. My friend had soup & sandwich which she really liked. Eggs Benedict was excellent according to my other friend…Plenty to look at with all the different things hanging on the walls. A great place to eat when in the area. Plenty of tasty treats to bring home… looking forward to visiting again😋

We stopped here on our way home from Apple Hill and it did not disappoint. This place is so cute! It is like stepping into your grandmas house. The food was delicious! The had the best pumpkin muffin! We cannot wait to comeback!

Such a nice place for brunch! The portions are big and the food is tasty. We ordered the crab Benedict, Texas French toast with a side of hash browns and toast, and a grilled chicken sandwich. We got a pecan pie slice to go and it was very good as well. The waitress was very attentive and polite. Would definitely come back.

We have been here for lunches or brunches over the past few years. Great convenient location and a large dining floor with friendly service. The food is consistently good for diner food. This is not fine dining, but they know their lane. You will get a sufficient amount of food for the price and for me, their biscuits and gravy are very good.

Buttercup Pantry restaurant serves up country style comfort food in Placerville, CA. It's located right on Main Street. The interior feels like walking into someone's home that's crowded and filled with knicks knacks and antiques. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Plus the menu is pretty extensive, so many choices... pretty much classic American diner food. Plus they have home made pies, strudel, and cinnamon rolls. They have four kinds of strudel and 11 types of pies. To name a few pie flavors ... apple, blackberry, pecan, lemon meringue, banana cream. Yum. On my last visit as I was perusing the menu, the ribeye chicken fried steak caught my attention. I've never had a ribeye version, so I ordered that. The ribeye cube steak was pounded to the thinnest, barely there thickness. It was a tad overcooked rendering the bread crust a bit dry. Even the gravy couldn't soften it up. Hubs ordered the bacon wrapped fried hotdog and cup of minestrone soup. I sampled off his plate. Both were ok. The fried batter around the hotdog was crunchy hard and dry. It would have tasted better without the batter. The soup was lukewarm. In the past, I recall the overal quality and food tasting much better. I'm apt to come back and ordering other items.

Highly disappointed, stopped for lunch after visiting Apple hill, had seen and heard so many good things about this place. Walked in to a half full restaurant and still waited 10 mins for a table, once we were seated we ordered right away as we were all hungry. We had ordered an appetizer and then it took approximately 40 mins just to get our appetizer. Every table around came later than us and ordered and received their food and one even finished and left. I’m not sure what the problem was, there server was very nice and apologetic. But absolutely will not be going back EVER
