So glad we came across this little gem in Plattsburgh NY. We happen to stop in as they were celebrating 6months in business. Them menu is simple but covers it all. We tried the Barbacoa and Carnitas both had great flavor. The portions are humongous. We left full satisfied and carding snack for later. La comida es excelente!
What a great new place in Plattsburgh! We ordered the burritos. I like spicy food so we added jalapenos and fuego salsa. (Highly recommend!) There are many topping options and the Mexican soda was yummy. A few places to sit inside but this strikes me as a good take out spot. Owners and workers at every nice and helpful!
Good food for a decent price. Hearty portions, and a mix of customizable options. Friendly staff, as well.
Wow! Hidden gem in Plattsburg. Great taste, great portions awsome price. The person who served us was so kind, took time to explain menu gave us such a great service. Took the bowls (around 11$) and it was over my expectation. Very fresh, tasty, original.
El Sol's Mexican Kitchen, we had been hearing good things about their food and yesterday we decided to stop in for lunch. She had a Quesadilla, I had the El Sol Bowl. Her one year old granddaughter? She had little bits and pieces of what we were having, she's one. We weren't disappointed. Their food is delicious, the place is clean and the price is right. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a go. An excellent addition to Plattsburgh's dining experience. It is located at 23 Smithfield Boulevard, in the plaza directly next to AutoZone. :)
We stopped by after they opened for some chips and queso - it was delicious so we knew we'd be back. Today we came in to try the rest of the food getting a variety of tacos to try out the different meats and salsa. Everything was fresh, delicious and fulfilled our cravings. The portion sizes are great, the place is very clean and the staff incredibly friendly even during 'a rush'. Well done! This location only has a few seats to dine in but they do a great job with packaging the to-go orders - the boxes are nice and sturdy so it's easy to eat in the car. I especially appreciated the taco tray coming with three separate groves for each taco to sit in. Thrilled to have this mexican spot locally and can't wait to enjoy it again soon. If you are looking for an awesome lunch or dinner and craving mexican- look no further.
I got a barbacoa burrito with black beans pico de gallo and a LOT of cheese. The employees were soooo nice, and the atmosphere is incredible. I highly recommend it 👌 👍🏻
Fresh delicious Mexican food in a clean atmosphere served by friendly faces, priced right. Highly recommend!!!
I absolutely love this place! The environment is clean, the workers are very nice! Also, the best burrito I’ve ever had🤤

Love El Sol!! The barbacoa and guacamole are a MUST every time!! Amazing prices- I always get a bowl (and honestly it is enough for 3 meals) def recommend if you're looking for a quick and fresh lunch or dinner option!
Easily best to go burritos in town, quick when you order delivery, they don’t mess up orders so you’ll get exactly what you put. Also, Jarritos and Mexican Cokes are always a plus.
We stopped and ate in after eye appointment. They open for early lunch at 1030! All ingredients were fresh. The woman working the counter was kind and helpful. The El bowls are generous made to order and warm tortillas and burritos were freshly warmed on grill and served stacked, foil wrapped. We had plenty to take home for later. Awesome place and convenient.
Incredible food! But even more incredible staff! It was our first but definitely not last time. Planning our next drive from Montreal and will bring some family along to try the delicious food! Thought of taking pictures too late (had already eaten half the food 😆). Thank you for accommodating our vegetarian diet. It was delicious and fresh!

This place is amazing! I always take my three boys there after a long day out in the High Peaks. It's part of our ritual. We get the most delicious burritos and Jarritos to match. The staff is great and I tip 25%. This place deserves five stars. Unfortunately, for as long as President Trump will be threatening my country, I will keep my business out of yours.

Surprisingly good basic Mexican food, cheery friendly staff, small but pleasant and comfortable interior at the end of a small strip mall. And great value for the quality and quantity! You order and they build it in front of you at your direction from the many bins of ingredients- all scratch from the kitchen according to the manager. Bright and cheery interior tables with comfortable metal chairs. Babacoa was tender and flavorful if a little dry, chicken was great. Same price to load up with all the toppings from guacamole to lime wedges. Two tacos were more than enough for me (3 is the standard order). Popular for takeout too. Bonus: pleasant jazz and world background music and not too loud!

Mmmm is all i can really say. Better than the other place. You know which one I’m talking about. Staff are wonderful. I only wish they had a steak option

Food that I ordered was a step above Taco Bell. The Pico and guacamole were the only thing good. The chips tasted like Doritos. Bland, boring. Really disappointed. The staff cooking were wonderful.

I have been coming since the opening recently it just hasn't been the same, I came in around dinner time for a bowl. The Bowl I received was very tasteless honestly and not fresh. Chicken was dry and not flavorful, beans were hard rice was bland and hard. Just very little flavor. NONE of it was even warm. The steam table never has covers on it and looked like it hadn't been refreshed in hours honestly. And the salsa was just very watery, Just very disappointed as I try to support this local business. The service is always great though Just disappointed on the food recently

I thought I ordered queso dip, but what showed up was not it. Their queso has always been runnier than every other Mexican spot I’ve ever eaten at and that’s saying something. Lately, though, it’s gone full skim milk. I truly wish that I could add a video to this review. There’s no satisfying cheese pull, no cling to the chip, just a quick dunk followed by everything dripping right back into the bowl. Even at room temperature it barely coats anything, which makes me afraid to imagine how watery it is when it’s actually hot. If the goal was cutting costs by watering things down, mission accomplished, but at this point it’s not dip anymore. It’s broth with cheese vibes. And judging by other reviews, I’m clearly not alone. Plenty of people mention bland food, inconsistent quality, dry meats (looking at you barbacoa), and orders coming out lukewarm or wrong altogether. When this many people are saying the same things, it stops feeling like a one off bad experience and starts feeling like a pattern. This place gets hyped like crazy, but I honestly don’t get it. After this final queso experience though, this is definitely the last time I’m ordering from here.
This was the absolute worst meal I have ever had. The chicken tasted like canned chicken dry shredded, a hard black bean. I have included pictures as well . $40 for 3 tiny tacos and a burrito bowl full of shredded lettuce canned dry chicken and hard rice and beans. I hate to leave a bad review but do yourself a favor go to chipotle or something

Food wasn’t good at. My family said it was ‘ok’. I personally for the chicken quesadilla, but the chicken was so dry, had a few hard chunks in it, and they barely put any cheese so it just tasted like dried shredded chicken on tortilla. For the price we paid, it should have been better. First time trying this place, and now my last time as well 🤮🤢 a shame. Now my stomach hurts and I’ve been throwing up. So they must have given me bad chicken.
