Sooooo delicious!!!! The service was the best! And I couldn’t believe the taste of their poke — it was so good!
Found a great hidden gem. Had only tried Kroger premade Poke Bowl, so when they helped me pick out what to order for them to make one fresh, I was eager to try it. So good. Also tried one of their Sushi. Very impressive. Staff extremely helpful. Went back a few times while in Playa. Nice atmosphere. Only downfall, the open air seating. Not good if raining. Did see many deliveries being picked up, so I guess that's always an option.
Had the poke bowl for lunch, was super fresh and pricing very reasonable. Nice little patio to sit on away from the street, and the staff was super lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Build your own poke bowls were absolutely FIRE. Beach plus this food made the perfect day!! The owner Alfonso is a wonderful human being that helped make recommendations on food and had conversations with us! We will be back many more times. $598MX ($30ish) for 2 bowls and 2 calpis drinks.
Everything was from beginning really good. The staff were also kind to us and helped us with everything. And Alfonso was also very nice and helpful. Thank you for great gourmet experience!
The best poke I've had and I've had poke in a lot of places around the world! THIS IS THE BEST ONE! So many options to choose and add. Absolutely delicious! I wish I was around longer just to have another one. Nice patio too. But charged me in my currency so I paid more effectively instead of asking me if I wanted to pay in pesos
The food was absolutely phenomenal and the chef was fantastic to talk to. Very knowledgeable and friendly, speaks both Spanish and English. Great vibe for the outdoor casual seating.
Service wasn’t good, we were only three tables and two waiters, they forgot one of our dishes. We all finished and my friend who ordered before us a “salmon sashimi” didn’t get her food and until we were done we reminded the waiters and they said it was still under process. The taste on the food was ok, when the check arrived we had to remind them of stuff we ordered.
While the food tasted very good, I really don’t appreciate the appropriation, exploitation and commodification of my Hawaiian culture. Poke is Hawaiian, not Japanese. Japanese have sashimi, which is what they should have called it, especially since what they serve is much closer to sashimi than poke. Likewise the use of Hawaiian language for certain menu items is also unnecessary for a restaurant serving Japanese food, not Hawaiian food. I really wish people would stop exploiting my culture, you realize it’s not okay with other cultures, why do people feel so free to do it to Hawaiians?
I’m skeptical of the positive reviews after our experience here. The poke was underwhelming, the rolls were disappointing, the nigiri even more so, and the onigiri wasn’t good either. To top it off, it took an hour for our food to arrive and we were the only ones in the restaurant.
The waiter was friendly but he offered us free water for a 5 star review before we even ordered. Sorry but cannot give it 5 star . I got the breaded shrimp onigiri , it was a massive patty of rice with 1 shrimp cut up . The crab legs were actually crab mozzarella sticks ( kind of like mozzarella sticks with imitation crab ) they tasted fine probably the best part of the meal . The soya sauce is not good it has weird vinegar taste . Food is not great / took long time . The atmosphere is non existent because it’s just 5 tables . I wouldn’t go again sorry. I didn’t see items on the menu that they have pictures posted for on Google so not sure what’s going on with that .
The poke bowl was okay, nothing to rave over. Lacking toppings and flavor . I also ordered tuna nigiri which the texture was not normal. The waiter bribed us with free flavored water to write a 5 star review before even placing our order. This is the reason why they have a 4.9 star. I would not eat here again.
I just went there and it's closed! Have options available.. there's another Japanese on Constituyentes Avenue, very close ☺️
