Smith Street Hot Dogs

This place awesome…the food is great along with the staff …I found this place when I moved up here from the Bronx completely nostalgic and I make it My business to go there every Monday I’m off…try there hot sausage &peppers there gravy is mint!!

I used to live in Poughkeepsie and would grab a sausage and pepper sandwich at least once a week. I now live in Tucson and can only get them when I visit. I get at least 2 at a time cause they are sooo delicious. I even pack some to take back to my Husband and they happily fill my container for travel. Even after all the years I have been gone they still recognize me. Thanks for great Dogs and Sausage and peppers. Wish you'd move to Tucson. 😋

Friendly and efficient, very clean interior pleasant personality whether you're only grabbing a cup of coffee or staying to enjoy freshly made breakfast. Will definitely be back.

New owner has added a lot of new stuff. The dogs are as good as they ever were. Try the fries. Recommend.

If you're looking for 4 star decor, you're in the wrong place. This is a neighborhood eatery with a 50+ year old feel. I'm not a soft skin hot dog guy so I can't rate those but I am a sausage or a meatball guy. Both of those selections are great with or without the hot sauce, pepper + onions. The price is right and the family staff are polite and courteous. If you're a regular here you will get treated like one and not like a stranger.

This hot dog spot on Smith Street in Poughkeepsie is one oF the best and last eating establishment from back in the day. We all grew up on there food and hope and pray 🙏 that it stays open forever. Thank you for your service to generations of Pioneers 💙💙💙

The Bom. I've been eating here for 35 years. Best chili dog in Poughkeepsie. Thay make a great sausage and pepper. Melts in your mouth. I'd suggest take out. Not that big.

Smith Street hot dogs is what it is it's a hot dog place it has an easy in easy out and if you like sausage and peppers on a hot dog roll sausage and peppers on a wedge meatballs cold cuts and some of the best tuna you're ever going to find with a secret recipe that they still haven't told me what it is LOL I'm quite pleased to be a part of that establishment for many many many years and have felt very comfortable in just saying go there. My son loves the meatball sandwiches and the beauty about the sandwiches it's a little bit bigger bang-for-the-buck because you get one sausage per hot dog roll and to me it's a perfect mixture of bread and meat so that's my choice along with the hot dogs would go from straight mustard to mustard and onions to chili dogs two hot dogs with everything that include relish chili onions and such solid solid solid for this type of a venue

I don't know how many details you can give about a hot dog place but these are the best. Any topping you could really want, plus delicious meatballs and sausage and peppers. I have been going there since I was a kid with my Dad (35 +years) and it's like stepping back in time. Always delicious. Could use a facelift on the inside, but, that is what's cool about it. It just doesn't matter. Great place to have some dogs or even get them to go and drive down to the river and eat them. Great place.

A genuine Mom & Pop location in Poughkeepsie, truly worth a visit if you're in the area. Although I prefer my hot dogs with a bit of "snap" these are boiled with no casing but the chili was tasty and the wonderful service and historic feel of this place was awesome.

This place is not the same. My husband ordered one meatball sandwich. She gave us a hotdog instead. Hotdogs taste liked they were microwaved. We will not be going back.
