Overall an amazing experience! Amazing service from our waiter, Jason, beautiful presentation, great atmosphere, and the food far exceeded our expectations! We definitely recommend the brownie sundae for dessert which comes with a special presentation! If you’re from or familiar with Manhattan definitely try the raspberry bean dip. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Scratch Gourmet Express & Catering did a fantastic job for our client event last month. Bailey was great to work with from building out the menu and all of her help planning to make sure everything went perfectly. The food was delicious and everyone raved about it. Definitely will use them again! Highly recommend.

Can't say enough good things about this place and its people! The team recently hosted our Board of Directors for the Kansas City Chapter of Meeting Professionals International at their venue, and to say the experience was elevated or awesome would be an understatement! The plates were beautiful and delicious and the wine pairings were totally on point! Their team was wonderful and engaging, and with the whole experience, Scratch gained 12 new salespeople working to champion their brand every day! The food was absolutely amazing! The best meal we have ever had. Services was a 10/10. The whole experience from being greated was exceptional, it was like being at a Michelin star restaurant…. Jeremy out waiter was the best waiter and we cannot say enough good things about this place, it is a MUST visit.

We had such an amazing experience using Scratch for our client's corporate brunch! They were early to set up, easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and went above and beyond at the event offering to help with the bar when we only sourced food through them. Scratch Gourmet Express & Catering was amazing to work with. They responded to us quickly and worked with us on our Luncheon event for 45 people. The food was delicious and everyone loved it. The team on site were professional, kind and eager to go the extra mile! I would highly recommend them again.

We hosted a champagne tasting for 12 people this past Saturday to celebrate a few birthdays. Tyler (owner) personally did the tasting! The champagnes were amazing, the food that they provided paired so well with the drinks and the service was impeccable! Tyler provided the perfect amount of information about the champagnes and then he let us socialize and hang out. I cannot recommend this establishment enough! They are so passionate about the products they provide and the service that goes along with it. We are going back this Thursday for another event! 15/10 recommend!

Perfect private dinner spot for a VIP group, corporate dinner or fine dining special event. The food was beautiful, delicious and interesting. Scratch team was fantastic, knowledgeable and fun. Plus the wine pairings were perfect, we learned a lot. Great all around experience!

My husband’s 60th birthday event was absolutely spectacular. The team we had were incredibly capable, professional, thoughtful, and very resourceful. They did everything we wanted them to do and more….Above and beyond the call of duty and so so sweet. The food was displayed beautifully and absolutely delicious.

I can’t believe this food is Takeout. Scratch has quickly became my favorite place to eat in Kansas City! Pro tip, order Express for dinner (pick anything on the menu it’s all scrumptious & don’t miss the desserts) then order Grab N Go for lunch tomorrow! 👏🏼👏🏼 Top 3: Carrot Cake, Cajun Shrimp & Grits, & BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP! Small cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service. We had a dinner for our group of 22 and everyone was happy with the choice. My sea bass was exquisite, for appetizers we had bruschetta and chipotle black bean dip. Delicious! I would have preferred the bruschetta with raw tomatoes (not cooked) and more basil taste, but it was good. Great culinary experience!

A wonderful dining experience! My wife and I enjoyed as much of the menu as could fit on our table and our first time in to Scratch. We were wowed by the Chicken Spiedini and Baja Brisket Street Tacos along with the wonderful service and attention to detail. Cannot wait to have them be our Prairie Village caterer for this Fall's Chiefs games. Even better we can call ahead and roll up and pick up an exquisite dinner to go anytime we want with the menu constantly changing we'll never get tired of the menu.

My husband and I tried Scratch for a fun date afternoon dinner. The food and service and ambience was outstanding. I highly recommend the executive chef special sea bass- it was 5+ stars and our server, Chris was a true foodie with outstanding service.

My handsome and sweet New Year’s date chose the most impressive restaurant for New Year’s Eve. This was, without question, one of the best meals I’ve had in years—made even more memorable by the wonderful company. The wine pairings were exquisite, beginning with a beautiful prestige Premier Cru Brut Champagne, followed by a 2015 Remoissenet Bourgogne Aligoté, a 2020 UR Wine Cabernet Sauvignon, Fratelli Alessandria Barolo Monvigliero, and finished with a tantalizing port from Australia. The selections spanned several regions, including Napa Valley, Italy, France, and Australia, and each pairing felt thoughtful and intentional. I was especially impressed to learn that the chef previously worked at Bluestem—and it showed immediately. The plating was stunning, the flavor pairings both creative and refined, and the ingredients exotic yet beautifully balanced. Every course felt inspired and purposeful. The evening itself was incredibly romantic, and everything from start to finish was fabulous. I couldn’t stop talking about the experience all night—the meal truly blew me away. If you haven’t visited Gourmet Scratch Kitchen yet, we highly recommend it. This is a restaurant for refined palates who appreciate far more than the mundane. While I thanked my date profusely, I also want to give special kudos to the exceptional chef, our fantastic server, and the sommelier, who was enthralling, intellectually engaging, and extraordinarily knowledgeable with every presentation. We will absolutely be back.

Scratch brings a new perspective to casual fine dining. I usually picture a nice restaurant with consistently quality food. Scratch is so deeply thoughtful, creative, expertly manicured and the team knows their craft. Started with a couple cocktails (I’m a bourbon - neat type of guy) and an off menu craft Manhattan had me at hello. My wife had a “Newton’s Law” a delicate, complex, incredibly refreshing summer cocktail. Enjoying the artfully executed ceviche had us ready for the main course. Their Sea Bass is competition ready and I have a hard time with steak at restaurants as someone who gets his straight from the farm…the Wagyu Ribeye was beautiful and perfect. Especially paired with their high end Sangiovese which perfectly balanced the meal… I went full on glutton here and even finished with the Peaches and Crème Brûlée. Not big on desert, but this is something everyone should try. Rich and light and delightful, like a fresh brûléed peach cobbler. Well done chef. Well done Scratch.

I’d been wanting to stop in & finally did. It’s a super cute indoor/outdoor vibe. It is small indoor so would highly recommend a reservation. I actually tried the secret garden mocktail & everything about it was great! It came out with a big mint bubble on top so presentation was super cute & it tasted really refreshing & sweet. The appetizer (crab & shrimp wonton dip) was to die for! I’d come back just for that any day. The main course I chose was the salmon. It was good, but somewhat regular. The staff were sweet & overall really great place.

Husband and I came here for our anniversary and it didnt disappoint! The cocktails were delicious and so creative, the food was incredible- we shared the Brussels sprouts, wonton dip and beef rigatoni. Ambrose was so friendly and made great recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

I had an amazing dining experience at Scratch in Prairie Village! The food was absolutely delicious, each dish crafted with incredible attention to detail. The cocktails were well-crafted and perfectly balanced. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Went for our first time tonight and had some of the best cocktails! They just debuted a new menu and every single drink was incredible! The food was excellent, but drinks were the show stopper tonight! The Golden Kid and Amaterasu are pictured here. The Golden Kid was our absolute favorite of all of them, with Silly Rabbit a close second, but everything was so sooo good! All around new favorite spot in the area.

Scratch Gourmet Kitchen truly exceeded my expectations! We visited on Valentine’s Day and had an incredible dining experience. The steak and lobster were cooked to perfection, the appetizers were delicious, and the dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I've been to quite a few fine dining restaurants in Kansas City, and this was hands down the best. The service was excellent, the ambiance was warm and elegant, and every dish was crafted with care. I highly recommend Scratch Gourmet Kitchen for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience! We’ll definitely be back.

After looking at places that were open early (had somewhere we needed to be at early) for dinner I found Scratch and made a reservation, some reviews said the food was bland but I am glad we went for the food was excellent. We started off with the hummus, it was a massive board with peppers (which I don't like) and cucumbers alogn with soft pita triangles, then it had smoked butternut squash hummus, a red pepper sauce and a cilantro chimichurri, man...it was so good, I could eat that nightly. So healthy and delicious. I got the Steak Pave and the chef was able to cook it blue rare, kudos to the chef for cooking it to the "T" in what blue rare should be. The cut of steak was also perfect, the potato pave was soooooo good, I do not like asparagus so didn't touch that but I highly recommend ordering this dish, truly I could eat it a couple times a week and not get tired of it. My boyfriend got the Chicken Parmesan Roulade, he said it was really good, not a morsel was left. Didn't have dessert as we were so full but truly the chef is talanted and the food is full of flavor. Also our waitress, forget her name, dark hair that was kind of short and she had on a raspberry stain lipstick, she was just down to earth and very helpful.

The cocktails (Golden Kid and a Plaid Shirt Days) were amazing. We started with the maple chili Brussels sprouts. (Best Brussels spouts we have ever tasted) Then had the butternut risotto- very tasty! And some Chilean Sea Bass - no better in town! The owner, Tyler, stopped by our table to ensure everything was as expected. We let him know the food and service (shout out to Ambrose!!) were perfect. Looking for a romantic night out and a night of decadent food…you found your place….. SCRATCH.

Scratch KC is truly a gem! The ambiance, food, and drinks are all top-notch. We absolutely cannot get enough of their crab dip—it’s out of this world! From the front of the house to the back, the customer service was exceptional. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and made the evening even more special. A huge compliment to the executive chef for personally stopping by our table to check in on our meal and even wishing me a happy birthday—it meant so much! We will definitely be going back very, very soon!

We grabbed a table for two on short notice and were very glad we did so. I had a Caesar salad with an incredibly tangy dressing and this interesting fried Parmesan cheese waffle garnish thing that added wonderful texture. Wife had a squash soup that was a little on the cooler side in terms of temp (it’s probably meant to be served this way) but they immediately warmed it up to being piping hot (it was a cold wet night) and it was delicious. I’m curious what they used to sweeten it, maybe maple syrup? For an entree I had rigatoni with a braised beef tomato sauce that had just the right level of spice. My wife had a chicken roulade with risotto that had so many flavors and textures in one dish that was also amazing. Definitely would recommend for a date night.

The staff was so sweet and attentive. The did was delicious and plated beautifully. It's a very cute little spot but definitely would be great for a date night if you want a reason to dress up and look nice. I'll be returning for sure because I was in and out in less than an hour during the lunch rush on a weekday.

Best meal we have had in years!! Cocktails, appetizer, and both meals were fantastic. Claira had great recommendations and made our anniversary dinner so special.

My wife and I spotted this new venue on our way home from work and decided to investigate it further. Easy to find with plenty of free parking in the Prairie Village shopping center. Scratch is a carry out restaurant and the product of the pandemic with it's restrictions on sit down and indoor dinning. We ordered and split the chicken fried steak and Cajun shrimp and grits along with brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious we especially enjoyed the brussel sprouts , fantastic! Scratch does offer a private dining room for parties of up to 22. Although a bit pricey we are sure to return to this gourmet restaurant soon. Update, Scratch now offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Scratch has rapidly become one of our favorite places.

Very impressed. I had pasta with veggies, and it had so much flavor! Also had the chicken breast with potatoes and Brussel sprouts, and it was ok. A little bland but good. The strawberry shortcake was decent. I would go back, I enjoyed it. It is very pricey. I wish the portion of pasta was more for $18.

Went in for dinner since I had heard nothing but great things. The cocktails I had exceeded the hype, but the food was somewhat disappointing — it was a little bland and the menu just wasn’t special. I’ll definitely be back for drinks. The drinks by far were some the best I have ever had in the metro.

First the food because that's what it's all about anyway. The creamy crab and shrimp dip was wonderful, had the right amount of richness and properly seasoned. The chips were a bit funky and had some sweetness but it paired ok with the dip. One of our fellow diners got the Chilean Sea Bass and that was superbly executed although it has a price to match. The Umbria Sea Scallops however did not live up to expectations. They had a beautiful color on one side but the other side has no color on it, unsure if they forgot to braise the side that was down. Overall that dish had an extra saltiness that took away from the risotto. Finally the desserts with the chocolate brownie was so good, might just make it worth to go for that. Service was excellent although they were fully booked so our dinner took over two hours to complete. The ambience inside is excellent and they would have gotten five stars if they were in better surroundings.

Food and service is good. Seasonal mocktail was delicious!! Made reservations weeks ago for 5pm. Was seated near door/busy aisle and told could not move even though there were several empty tables during our entire meal. Missed opportunity to delight a first time customer!

Came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The restaurant was really cute and the outdoor area was nice. I got the ceasar salad and steak au pave and my husband got the blueberry ribeye. Unfortunately I left still feeling hungry. The steak was tender and juicy but in my opinion under seasoned. The serving size was MAYBE 4oz-5oz of steak, and 3 small slivers of potatoes and literally 2 asparagus. For $54 I definitely expected something a little more substantial. My husband's ribeye was a good size and his potatoes were delicious but also under seasoned. Our waiter looked at us like we were crazy when we asked for salt. I don't know, it didnt feel very special. We probably won't be back.

To Go dinner from @scratch_kc tonight. The place is really cute with lots of outside seating in the shade. The staff was great! Packaged all of the parts of our dinner separately so it all traveled. Also took the time to tell me how to best put the food together. Wonderful attention to detail. We had the nachos - queso was creamy, the meat is tender, and the salsa added acid. Needed a little something spicy. The wilted salad’s bacon dressing was acidic and paired well with the avocado. Finally we had the shrimp fajitas. The flavor was good, a little sweet and the shrimp was perfectly cooked.

Pros: our server was the perfect amount of attentive, and friendly. Drinks: ok, but not worth the price. Food: small portions. Nothing wrong with that, but for that price, the flavor should have wowed, and both my beet salad and rigatoni were so bland. In conclusion, I left hungry and disappointed.

The service was excellent and the staff was welcoming. The food was underwhelming, and the cocktails were hit and miss. The small portions would have been ok if the flavor was there, but it was just bland and expensive.

We came here for my sister’s baby shower celebration. The staff were very polite and even had a card for my sister when we arrived. We had high expectations based on what we’d heard from others on their experiences. The drinks were top notch, scratch made and delicious. The food, however, was not great. We ordered the mushroom pasta, which was the best of the three entrees, the scallops, which were only seared on one side making the other side mushy, and the fried chicken sandwich…the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. It was supposed to be on brioche and arrived on white wonder bread. It also should have had gouchjing sauce and didn’t come with anything. We also ordered the brownie desert which the presentation was great, but the brownie itself was hard as a rock and for a $24 dessert, I would expect a lot better. We won’t be back, unfortunately and was a disappointment considering we were celebrating my sister’s first baby and what we have to remember is a very average meal that was extremely overpriced. We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Our server was ok but she removed my friends plate while I was still eating as well as her drink being removed while she was taking some sips. Server didn't ask if we were done and she was staring at us all night. We were looking to get a desert but after that, we felt very uncomfortable and we just wanted to leave. We really liked the area and the place looked nice but the service was very unproffesional.
