We came after meeting the owners a couple nights earlier at their other spot, The Office (also great). The food was amazing, we had ribs sausage (must get) and the wedge salad. Perfect amount of food! The service was unmatched. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Will come back and hang with the good folks here again!

Just came for drinks and dessert. Best cheesecake and banana cake we ever had. Great laid back atmosphere with smooth jazz. Servers were a delight and Alex was so friendly and obviously happy to serve. Enjoy!

A lovely little lounge and restaurant in the heart of Versalles. The front lounge area is open to the street, features comfy looking furniture, a well stocked bar and live music (check their schedule for dates and times). We chose the rear of the building, which again has some very comfy looking furniture and raised bar style tables. We were greeted at the door and seated by the very attentive staff. Ice water was served without request, which was unusual and a nice touch. Wine was two for one. We ordered Chili, Wings, Argentinian Sausage and Pulled Pork Tacos. Everyone had a little sample just to be certain what to order the next time we came (which will be soon). The smoked BBQ flavours are perfect: subtle and tasty. Dessert was a piece of Turtle Cheesecake and four deliciously warm Chocolate Chip Cookies. Yum!! Definitely worth visiting again and again. Edit: Went back today for one last visit before going home. Once again, an excellent experience in every respect. Wings, potatoes and coleslaw. The margaritas are perfection! Wonderful staff!

We had their Super Platter delivered and it came like it had just come from straight from the kitchen. We ordered the platter with the brisket and it was delicious! Claude Perreault and I were just there last night for dinner. It was delicious 😋. The atmosphere was lovely, welcoming and cozy! We had a brisket plate and rib plate. The flavors were excellent. Their happy hour was great too! Highly recommend going there and checking them out!!! 👍

The owner Lawrence greeted me as soon as I came into the restaurant and made sure I was well taken care of all night. He hyped up the wings and they didn't disappoint being able to taste all the flavors from the smoker. I'm not a drinker anymore but watched the bartenders make some exquisite craft cocktails and will get one of their mocktails next time I come. My favorite part of the night was the cover band that was playing solid Country and Rock hits from 70s and 80s. Definitely coming back soon when my friends come visit me in PV.

Went to EL Rey BBQ on recommendation from a local. The owners were great, greeted us and made sure that we were being treated well and that we were enjoying the food. I had the brisket platter and my husband had Pork sliders! The brisket was the best I have ever had! Tender and tasty! Cornbread was sweet and side dishes were all tasty! My husband loved the sliders! We didn’t have room for dessert but when they told us the turtle cheesecake was homemade, we couldn’t resist! Highly recommend the cheesecake! As if the meal and dessert weren’t good enough, we then had a guy named Saul come up and tell us that he does 15 minute massages on Mondays and Fridays on your neck and shoulders and would we be interested? After just playing two hours of Pickleball, heck yeah. Saul had the best touch and worked all of the tightness from my shoulders! We got his contact info for his beach location and I certainly plan to see him again! Friday is ladies night at El Rey’s so we will be back for dinner, music and massage!! Sorry no pictures of our food! We are it too fast!!

Phenomenal attention to detail that you would expect from a restaurant 3 times the cost, hence the towels in the bathroom. The brisket was by far the best I’ve had and the drinks were top notch also. The owner Lorenza came out to see how dinner went and to check on us, great guy and runs this restaurant with a lot of heart & passion. Cannot say enough about how great this place is! Went for a simple "sip a cocktail" experience and realized it was above and beyond. Beautiful decor and impressive service. Bring a date and impress. The service was over the top and the food was beyond expectation. The smoked chicken wings were perfect. The pork belly burnt ends were amazing. The cocktails were made in front of me with care and passion. The bartenders explained how each step of the cocktail process could change the drink. It was a phenomenal experience. It's a must-go-2 in Puerto Vallarta. .

We stopped by El Ray BBQ Grill in Versalles just for drinks and really liked the place. The vibe is nice and funky, with a relaxed, casual atmosphere that makes you want to hang around. It feels friendly and unpretentious, perfect for an easy stop without any pressure. When I tell you this place brought me to tears with how refreshing, lovely, wholesome, real and transparent the owners are and the thoughtful, detailed atmosphere they have created. The husband and wife who owns this are an obvious power couple. So personal. Everything, down to the jam but on the cheesecake is completely homemade. The cornbread is the best I’ve ever tasted. The whole atmosphere relays love, down to the luxury powder rooms. It was the most beautiful ending to a gorgeous vacation. Mind you, this experience happened last minute on New Years Eve where they could have easily disregarded us and said no service. It’s what we all didn’t know we needed. It’s reminiscent of the charm Mexico used to have. Their goal and mission for this restaurant in my opinion has reached success and beyond - full of heart and endless vision. Thank you all!!

Staff are knowledgeable and I cannot recommend enough. This is a must visit for sports fans or anyone who enjoys good food and service. The lime marg and Super Bowl board were amazing. I had such a wonderful experience here at El Ray Bar & Grill PV. I ordered the pulled pork street tacos and they were outstanding — the pork was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the homemade pico de gallo was fresh and absolutely delicious. I also loved that they had a festive Christmas cocktail menu. The Negroni Navidad was so tasty and perfectly festive — a really fun and thoughtful touch. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner, Rheanna (apologies if I’m spelling her name wrong). I was traveling solo, so I sat at the bar. I ended up chatting with her for over an hour, and she was incredibly personable, warm, and welcoming. She made me feel like I’d been a friend for years rather than a first-time guest. This is a family owned business and Rheanna and husband Lawrence have put so much thought into the menu and the experience for their guests. Amazing food, great drinks, and genuine hospitality. I will absolutely be back.

The tequila tasting was so fun, learned a bit about the history and process involved in making tequila. The parings were very good, the host was engaging and all service staff extremely friendly. Good food, and great vibes! All at very reasonable prices. Really great decor! It's a lounge built for a king. Same owners as my other favorite bar in Versailles. The food here leans towards bbq and bar food one might expect in Texas. The sliders are my favorite, but try the specials. It's a full bar with talented staff too--get a specialty cocktail or something fancy. You won't be disappointed. Sports are not my thing, but they are also known to have the big game on one or more TVs.

I love my drink as you can see... that spicy Tamarindo 🔥 is delicious and very cold... exactly what I needed after a long flight through immigration and everything hot outside... as soon as I enter nice decor vibe, we were greeted by a very friendly waiter, pulls my chair out and tuck me into the bar in that comfy chair... the awesome AC brushing my head im ready to eat, drink and sleep haha... oh the aroma of pulled pork hits the air was so delicious. My hubby had the chili and that was delicious looking as well... the cowboys is Denver Broncos in the air playing. In a way its like home away from home vibe too. The bartender she was lovely from Canada. Everyone was friendly and nice. We were told about the tastings they have there and was given a shot of that delicious racilla from the mountain ⛰️ so I'm looking forward to come back for a more informative tastings and discovering the difference between costal racilla and mountain racilla.

Stumbled in on a hot day while walking with my girlfriend — the inviting exterior and cool decor (plus the blast of AC) totally drew us in. Right away, we were greeted by Bre, who was super friendly and pointed us toward their killer happy hour: a beer and a shot for just 100 pesos. Unreal. Joshy behind the bar whipped up one of the best margaritas I’ve had in all of Puerto Vallarta — no joke. The owner, Lorenzo, even stopped by to say hello. Just as warm and welcoming as the rest of the crew. I’m pretty picky, and this place hit all the marks. Phenomenal food, incredible service, great vibes. Easily an 11/10. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I was torn with my review for El Rey. On the one hand, we enjoyed the food quite a bit but on the other hand, there was no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. After we ate, we went out back and saw they had two Masterbuilt electric smokers and a tiny bag of tiny wood chips, no chunks and certainly no logs. If I saw that before we ate I would have left. I had the brisket platter for 450 pesos and what was surprising is that it was the leanest brisket I have ever had in my life. Otherwise, if it was traditional American brisket it would have been a disaster with that electric smoker. I had to use a steak knife to cut the brisket! But it was very tasty even if it wasn't really smoky. My wife had the burnt ends (220 pesos) which she liked and I didn't. They were way too fatty because they were not properly smoked. We had the happy hour cocktails (100 pesos apiece). I liked the powdered salt on the side of my glass and the dehydrated lime was a nice garnish. I couldn't taste the tequila so it clearly wasn't a heavy pour. Happy hour goes until 7pm. If you want a very nice meal, I recommend it but let's level set expectations. It's not Texas or St. Louis or Kansas City BBQ. Not with an electric smoker and a tiny bag of tiny wood chips. We will return because I want to try the chili or the Fritos pie.

We arrived here just in time to get in on Happy Hour. Drinks were good. They serve smoked dishes here. We tried the smoked chili and the smoked chicken wings which were very tasty. Owner was friendly and attentive.

All hype, no flavor. El Rey BBQ Lounge is trying to be a BBQ joint, hot dog stand, cocktail bar, and queer-friendly lounge all at once — and fails at every single one. They brag about “award-winning” menu items, but never say what awards or where. Based on the food? I’m guessing “most forgettable brisket” or “best use of a pellet smoker to kill any trace of actual BBQ flavor.” The food is boring, and the cocktails are overpriced Instagram bait — all smoke (literally) and no taste. The whole place feels like it was designed by committee: a little bit rustic, a little bit neon, and a lot of “we saw this on Pinterest.” The staff are doing their best, but you can tell they’re constantly running interference for a menu that makes zero sense and a concept that’s all marketing, no mission. And don’t be fooled by the rainbow flags during Pride month. The “inclusive lounge” angle feels like a marketing ploy, not genuine community support. Locals: you already know. Tourists: don’t waste your night. El Rey talks a big game but delivers dry meat, confused vibes, and a tab you’ll regret.
