Excellent food and they have a great patio to enjoy your food. The Avocado Toast with Burrata cheese is amazing as is the Stuffed French Toast with berries. Definitely 5 stars. Love Jack's Place!
I loved it everything about it was just wonderful the food the staff the feel. It felt like I was at home having breakfast with family. Very welcoming and the small town feel is so perfect. Being from a small town my self it was nice to see.
Even though I was hoping for liver and onions (because I saw it on the online menu but it was not available) the hamburgers are fantastic! Nice casual down home atmosphere with friendly staff. Will be going back again and highly recommend. If you're in the neighborhood (as I am when I go to Westside Christian Fellowship church on Sundays)do yourself a favor and check this place out.
Consistently good food in a friendly atmosphere. Would recommend pizzas, ranch hand burrito, 51/50 burger, corn beef hash, dani sandwich.
Atmosphere is awesome. All the food is great. The beer is always cold. The server always remembers me and knows what i like. We make it a point to stop in after race day!
Great atmosphere, excellent staff, and phenomenal food. The mixed berry cobbler was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Even better than a pizzookie and that's a high regard coming from me 😅
Country Atmosphere with great food and service. We visit 2-3 times monthly and live about 12 miles from restaurant. Servers are friendly and we have gone to breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. Very Cozy too. Highly recommend.
Very welcoming atmosphere! Fantastic food! Great selection and service! Would give more stars if I could!!! Must try if you are in the area!!
Open with heaters under the tent! The food was delicious and the server was really courteous and checked on her patrons frequently. However, I thought the price of my meal was a little on the expensive side, but I did have steak on it cooked perfectly.
Really good food and great friendly staff. I was working in the erea and was recommended to eat here. It was worth the 1 hour and a half drive. Nice country town.
A short drive from Palmdale/Lancaster, it feels like you’re entering another world, surrounded by beautiful farms. We love stopping in for breakfast! The food is always great and it’s a no fuss casual spot. They have a patio with outdoor seating.
Took Mom for Mother's Day breakfast. Service was great. Server was knowledgeable about Gluten Allergies and was able to guide us. Even was able to toast us Gluten Free bread in a pan to avoid contamination. Would definitely go again. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. This is a small place that fills up quickly. But worth it when you can get in.
Went in again today, Tuesday, the 30th of July. Ordered the same food as last time. It was delicious yet again. Beautiful n friendly servers made the experience even better! ;) And thank you management for increasing the size of the bun . My sandwich was ridiculously yummy. Even their fries are darn good. My older review below ( 4 months back) Delicious food, friendly staff. Went in today for late lunch and ordered local favorite pulled pork sandwich with fries as the side (that comes free with it). The pulled pork was ridiculously tasty. Lots of meat too! And loads of fries. I gleefully hogged it ;) Washed down the delectable food with ice cold Pepsi. One lil request to the management---- Can I have a larger bun nest time please /\. This one went away rather quickly. Like I said earlier, there was enough meat. So I ate remaining Pulled pork with fries
Merica! This place doesn’t disappoint. Always- A warm friendly, kind person greets your party - They always have you sit where you like. Everything is affordable and the other patrons are true Americans. Food is great and affordable. Love Jack’s Place!!!
The food is delicious, and the servers are spot on! I love taking day trips out to the Leona Valley with a stop for food at Jack's Place. Try the Turky Club...yum!!
Yummy! I like to consider myself a chicken fried steak connoisseur, I mean, I've had it in numerous different restaurants and different states. This was hands down one of my tops. And the gravy was the absolute best sausage gravy I have ever had. And I have tried a lot. The biscuit was amazing, and Jack's potatoes were spot on. My one complaint, they had Pepsi and I am a Coke girl. The iced tea was pretty delicious, however.
Mac and cheese and sandwiches were delicious (what we ordered), large portions (even the kids meal), friendly service, plenty of parking. Note, pizzas aren't available until after 2pm. Highly recommended.
The food is excellent. The portions are very generous. There a little bit proud of their food price wise .The service as use a pretty good. If you haven't try them tried them on their taco Tuesday, great specials and lots of fun
My wife and I love this place. We go during the week. The food is really good and fresh. If it’s cold they have a fire going. We love it.
Saratoma had a fund raiser for veterans and hearing impaired scholarships. Broken bit provided spectacular bourbon tasting. The live band was great. Multiple varieties of beer and wine were very tasty. Food was great too!
Everytime I have been here the food has been great and the staff has been very friendly. My wife and kids enjoy the food here as well and sitting on the patio with the view of the mountains is pretty relaxing. Great food, great atmosphere, and the peanut butter pie is delicious!!!
We are so lucky to have "Jack's Place on our doorstep. Service is awesome, but expect delays at the weekends, as this can be a desination restaurant for motorcycle groups. This is also a locals preferred restaurant, but any wait time is well worth it.
Staff was super nice. The fried pickles were so good. Nice local beer options. Went with the Spicy Chicken sandwich with curly fries. Will def come back when in the area again.
We have been there 4 times now. The staff is super nice and the food is always good. Nice out door eating area. Just wish the shading would go down further as it's awful sunny especially when we brought our daughter and her 3 little ones. And I'm prone to skin cancer and try to stay out of the sun. However, all that said, the food is always great. We've had something different each time and all delicious!! We will definitely be going back. Hoping our friends will make it next time.
We had great food and great service. The Reuben was awesome, fries delicious, salad was great. Our server, Sarah, was the absolute kindest and took care of everything including getting our pup a pup patty. Lots of our door seating. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, best onion rings I've had in a long time. Their in-house grind on their beef is a little unconventional, I liked it, the wife loved the flavor but wasn't especially fond of texture... It is definitely more course ground than typical burgers, and might catch you off guard, but just eat it, it's great, trust me. Friendly staff. Really not a bad thing to say. Will be back to try the pizza.
Love this place. I eat here all the time and have never had bad service. Super friendly staff and surprisingly awesome food for a rural diner. Plus the best pizza in the AV! They're my go-to place when eating out.
Our new ‘Go to’ local brunch spot!! What a cozy little restaurant with a friendly ambience and excellent food and service. Can’t wait to try their Friday night prime rib dinner sometime, or taco Tuesday! They also have a variety of beer selections so we may be bringing her daughter and her husband here to try those. Love this place!
My wife and I have wanted to try this place for months. We finally got the chance. This place is amazing! The service was very friendly and helpful. Food came out super fast and was out of this world delicious. My wife got the Dani sandwich and I got the spinach pesto pasta with salmon. Guys, you have to check this place out. We love it!
My husband and I stopped there on our way back from town and had an amazing meal. We sat in the cozy little back room, had super service. The pastrami sandwich was great with just enough sauerkraut to please and not overwhelm. Portions are generous. Prices are reasonable.
My family and I have been here at least 15 times on our way up/down from the mountains, since it's our favorite in the area!! Great options for breakfast and lunch, highlights include their ranch hand burrito, and really any of their burgers or sandwiches! The ingredients are always fresh, and they have a great variety of options and big flavors for a small town restaurant (like bacon/onion jam on a burger!). The atmosphere is great too, just the perfect balance of liveliness and small town comfort and friendliness. Will definitely be continuing to stop by Jack's Place!!
Young servers that care about their jobs. Amazing food, came out super fast. We sat on the patio in amazing weather overlooking the rolling hillsides. All together great time. Perfect pit stop while driving the canyon into town.
This place is an absolute gem. You will struggle to find something that isn't great on the menu. Highly recommend for breakfast and for lunch. Some of my absolute breakfast favorites are their one-of-a-kind corn beef hash, of course country fried steak, and the famous Jack Attack. For their later menu, you can't go wrong with the Cast Iron Charred Ribeye, their Jalapeno Bacon Mac n Cheese, and wow, their pizzas. My favorite pizza is the Pizza Naples. Now the desserts... They are out of this world. The peach cobbler is incredible and used to be my favorite until they recommended the avocado "cheesecake". This thing doesn't make sense how good it is, leaving here without trying it is a sin.
A friend recommended this place and my experience turned out to be great, the customer service is great and food is delicious my server Katy was really helpful and amazing. We will definitely be back and tell all our friends and family about this place. Food is delicious 😋
Very comfy small town feel with great food!! Staff is fabulous & makes us feel at home. We love hanging at Jack's with friends & making new friends!! Everything on the menu has been amazing, there hasn't been anything we haven't loved. We especially love the Pretzel burger with beer cheese! Gotta try jacks fries, Buffalo style!! Yum!!
Great place to eat to get away from the city and city people
There is a server there named Sara She's amazing. The owner is a great guy and has a great is ambiance about the place.
Jack's Place is one of those places that if you have never been there your losing out of the greatest service, food and enjoyment of your life. The next time you are thinking of going out for breakfast, lunch or dinner treet yourself and a friend to JACK'S PLACE on 90th St W Leona Valley, Ca 93551 ( you'll love it)
I work in the area on Tuesdays and can never pass by an opportunity to eat here. Owner is very kind, helpful and involved. All of the staff are great. Cooks are amazing and food is great. Never disappoints
The service was amazing. it's a super cool place too. and honestly in my whole entire 55 years of life I've never had smoked prime rib but it was super tasty. thanks for a good breakfast
Great local restaurant. Cozy, but not cramped. For a small restaurant, there is a huge amount of options to choose from. The service is great, they really make you feel welcome.
🛎️ Service: Extremelly Friendly, quick, efficient. We placed a phone order and they were quick to answer the phone. 🏡 Atmosphere: Rustic feeling. They offer outdoor and inside dining. 🥤 Drinks: We didn't order any. 🍲 Food: We ordered a large BBQ Chicken Pizza with a dozen chicken wings. The pizza was well done - dough crispy. Decent ingrediants. We ordered the Korean-flared flavor wings. Well done and crispy wings. Not overly sausy. Would buy again. 💰 Price: The price is worth the order. We paid essentially $38 for the pizza on a special with the wings.
I really love coming here with my little family to enjoy a relaxing meal while also being around the amazing atmosphere inside and out. The staff was very attentive, respectful and very friendly especially with my toddler. This is a very neat spot to kick back with your family, feels like a cozy cabin in big bear. Food was also amazing as well, everything tastes great and price was very affordable. We even had a ton of leftovers to eat later at home! If you haven't tried this place you definitely need to put this on your to-do list.
Had the pleasure of stopping in here for lunch with my husband while visiting family. Wow! This unexpected gem in the heart of tiny downtown Leona Valley wS a highlight of our trip! Fabulous food, cooked to order, from well-known favorites to elevated dishes. The chef gives every dish special attention. Service is the best! We chose to sit on the shaded patio which just added to the fun. We ordered the gyro in a bowl and the chicken taco plate. I highly recommend!
First time trying the food at this place. Amazing eats, had the American burger medium well my hubby tried the lamb tacos, Mahi tacos, and steak tacos they were delicious. For desert had the salty, caramel cookie with vanilla ice cream hands down the best treat ever. Got to try it to see what I'm talking about.
👩🏻🦳 We weren't planning on eating at Jack's place because we usually eat at the Rock House Inn🍽 but the road was closed due to the storms we have been having this winter🌧☃️ so we ended up Goggling restaurants near & Jack's Place came up so that is where we ended up and it was very busy and warm thank goodness because it was cold outside❄️ We had a wonderful experience and the food was excellent no complains also my Bloody Mary was perfect to my liking😋 defiantly we will come back to eat next time we are in town👌
It was a nice rainy day for coffee and breakfast. We are new to the area, and we were curious to try the local spots. Walking into Jack’s Place we were greeted by their friendly hosts. It was a bit of a wait (about 25 minutes) but the atmosphere in the restaurant made it go fast. Their coffee was really good and I got the Jack’s stuffed French toast. Amazing! My wife got the fat Elvis pancakes, Really worth it. Our waitress and all the staff was very kind. Will be coming back for sure!
Really good food in the beautiful little Leona Valley. Perfect spot to go on a motorcycle as the route to go is wonderful as well. The place is clean, homey, the food is delicious and the service is amazing!!! Totally on my list of places to ride to. We had breakfast and we all left happy with our bellies full… will be back for sure!
Jack's place is a small country diner in the mountains I Love the food and the vibe. The view is spectacular with very friendly and peaceful surroundings and company. The service is on point and friendly. Great for breakfast lunch and dinner. Recommend breakfast the Hands ranch burrito is nothing short of huge. You can choose between, ham, bacon or sausage ( I recommend with sausage) smooth taste well balanced. It is smoothered with gravy and sausage. Filled with avacado, cheese, onions, hash browns tomatos, and sourcream. For lunch the grilled Ruben does not disappoint. Fresh fust cornbeef with sourcrout. A bit salty though. Dinnermeatloaf sandwich and of course beer from Lucky Lukes on tap. Price is fare and not expensive.
We loved it. We had a little date day, Lunch. Beautiful day. Awesome service, had really good Bacon Bloody Mary's, and the food was really just so good, yummy fries perfectly toasted bread, just loved it. I got the Turkey club, my husband got the Ranch Hand burrito and he was very pleased loved it and was so full after. We will definately be going back. Thanks for such a great pleasant experience. I appreciate a good eatery. Yummm.
Say it with me...AMAZING! The atmosphere here is laid back and welcoming. The staff is fast, efficient, courteous. These guys know how to cook, serve and wait on tables. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. The tacos, amazing. The cali burger, can compete with any of America's best. The pastrami, excellent. Warm, inviting, fast service, smiles, thank yous, food was tops. Definitely support this small business, can't afford to lose this gold standard establishment. **update** 7/25/17 it's TACO TUESDAY!!! guys...there is a secret taco Tuesday menu not mentioned on the regular...shrimp tacos, salmon tacos, carnitas tacos, chille rellenos. These are amazing with the best of the bunch being the chille rellenos. They are amazing. Come here and drop some money for amazing food.
Nice place, comfortable outdoor dining, not windy nor "flappy". Service was not fast, (servers apologized for being short staffed . . . full staffing would likely have earned five stars) but food was outstanding! We had four at our table, the other couple were there for the second time, but the first time for us. All together, six menu choices with which we're well pleased! We'll definitely repeat visit so I'll highly recommend 👍🏼
Food was delicious. They have a nice patio for dinning, but you can add also eat in. They also serve craft beer, many kinds. Burgers were a little expensive. $100 for 4 people and 2 only had water.
Great California burger with fries...plenty to split! Also started with the mozzarella sticks with marinara...light batter on the sticks and cooked perfectly. Too full for dessert, but couldn't pass up the peanut-butter pie so we took a slice home to enjoy with coffee in the AM. Not a fast or cheap meal, but so worth it!
Very cozy place great atmosphere. Prices are mid to high range, but the food is delicious.
Service was excellent. Food was fantastic. Best fish and chips I've had. Pizza needed some love. Sauce was a little bland. But still good. 10/10 would recommend.
Everything was great but one thing everyone else at my table got thier food at least 5 minutes before I did.
I recently dined at Jack's Place and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food they offer. The flavors were spot on and left me quite satisfied. While the service was a bit slow, I was particularly impressed by their commitment to honoring and supporting military personnel and veterans, which adds a meaningful touch to the dining experience.
I got breakfast there, and was pleasantly surprised at the large portions and how good it was - I tried the Corn Beef Hash with eggs over easy 😋 it was so delicious - I'm planning to go back and try dinner - this is a great little place in a small town surrounded by mountain scenery just outside of Palmdale.
We have moseyed on out to Jack's for dinner twice now and both times the food has been incredible. I ordered the special both times -- once meat loaf and once pot roast and both were incredible. Savory flavor, melt in your mouth texture and great veggies accompanied the dishes. My husband had steak both times and commented that you know a good steak when you don't need to add anything to it. The wait times are the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars. We waited to be seated - unacknowledged for 15 minutes while they had open tables. The food makes it worth the wait but I think they could use a little more staff.
Good was delicious, we tried Lamb burger and it was delicious w/blueranch or cheese and grilled onions. Yummy.service was excellent and it at the time we were there early afternoon it was a calm atmosphere. We enjoyed it.
We’ve been going to jacks for more than 10 years and love the atmosphere, location, staff and food. They make great breakfast with plenty of food. The burgers are above average and the pizza is average or a little better than average. They have a great variety and it’s all solid to very good. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. My only problem is that in the past year or two prices have shot up. I can tolerate the $18.75 for a burger but they priced basic coffee at $4.19 and a soft drink is about $5 which makes a cup of black coffee well over $5 with tax and tip and a soft drink over $6 and that’s more than I’m willing to pay. I can go for lunch and just have water but the prices just add up too quickly when drinks are so inflated. I hope they reconsider pricing because the value just isn’t there at these prices.
Been hearing about this place so had to check it out. The atmosphere was cute and service was great. The food was mediocre. I was expecting more. It was a bit pricey for a burger, salad and chicken sandwich. The fries were bland, had to add salt. Also the chicken in the chicken sandwich needed a bit more flavor. The burger was basic. The bbq chicken salad was good, filling. Always nice to support a local small business.
Visited on wife's birthday, waited 30 minutes for a table. Understandable due to covid. Waited another 20 minutes for coffee. Never got some of the items ordered. The food was good! The service needed help.. they seemed overwhelmed. I hope this was a one-time event. The taste of the food made up for the delay in our food. The people in our party want to go back to try other menu items.. The waiter was nice. We will try again on a slower day during the week.
The staff there is Very friendly and Very helpful! Food is "just ok" though, it's nothing to really write home about. They don't have a very big selection of what you can choose from off the menu, your very limited on what you can order. In my opinion the prices are not economical, you're paying more for food that's just not worth it. And in some restaurants they'll say when the price is high... "Oh well you're just paying for the atmosphere", Well there's no "atmosphere" there it's just a place to sit down and eat. I have been there 3 different times now and I will not be going back, it's really not worth the money or the headache for that fact because you have to wait to be seated and they have seats open but yet they're not seating anybody. The seats are not comfortable and they are limited on space. On the three separate times that I have been there they have messed up my order every time so like they say... "Three strikes you're out!" And my orders are basic and simple very easy so there's no reason for them to be messed up. In my opinion... I would not recommend this place.
Very dissatisfied with the food. We waited an hour for our food and all of it was cold. We called ahead to make sure we could have 10 people inside the restaurant. When we got there they said sorry but you all have to sit outside. Thank goodness it was a nice day. There were waiters that were very nice. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS AS ME SAYING NOT TO COME HERE. they must have had an off day. They usually have really good food!
Usually like this place because it's out in the country like surroundings with ranches and animals.order mostly lunch items and is pretty good.today my wife and I ordered breakfast and we always order over medium eggs and they were over easy and still clear and slimey.wife thought she could get some of my hashbrowns since I usually don't stuff myself with the potatoes that's usually over loaded on my plate.i barely had enough for a taste that they served me.she got blackened burnt toast served to her.not sure if these workers take their job seriously or just there to meet their local town friends that come in to eat or hang at the bar.i won't ever order breakfast there again.only lunch items...
The food was good. Service sadly was not so good and considering there weren't too many people there was no excuse. No apologies were given. I had to finally get up and walk in to get what I requested. They are strict with menu items. You can't get dinner for lunch, so if you are not a sandwich or burger person, you are very limited. I ended up not being able to eat anything but an appetizer. The place is perfectly situated in a in an easy to find spot. The parking lot is dirt, so be weary of rainy weather. The food was good and nobody had complains. Looked fresh. The fried pickles are panko breaded and very good. A must to try. They serve only wine and beer. They do carry Bravery Brewing which makes it worthwhile.
Food is great. Live music, and great service. Edit. Sold to new owners. Food is still great. Knocking off a star. Been twice now since the ownership change. Service is extremely slow now. It took 45 minutes to get our food both times. The appetizers came out after the main course both times. No apology from the staff. The first time we were the only people there and hoped it was a fluke. This time we one of 3 groups, one group was eating when we showed up. Not impressed.
The Bacon Bloody Mary's used to be impeccable, a true oasis in the middle of the Leona Valley. Recently, however, something must have changed, as they are nearly undrinkable. Granted, perhaps my taste buds have changed, but two other people also affirmed that it was probably one of the most offensive drink they've had. This, after I had hyped them up all morning, only for the famed drink to let me down. The food is still as good as ever. Five different breakfast items were ordered, and all five plates absolutely delivered. The drink maker should definitely take lessons from the chef, as there is a clear disparity in talent. The atmosphere was muted, with the waitress clearly not very keen on my party of five being there. I observed the incredibly social and kind manner in which every other table was greeted, yet we could barely get any level of attention to ask for water and/or napkins. I'm not sure what any of us did to her that day, but the level of service was pronounced and quite off putting. Twice, she came with the check without asking if we were done. Twice we ordered another round of mimosas, with the intent to displace the aftertaste of the aforementioned Bloody Mary's. Mimosas typically do well during breakfast hours, but I wasn't aware that "mimosas" is now synonymous with "orange juice" at Jack's Place. Another strike for the drinks in 2023. Granted, I've been to Jack's Place several times and this is the first remotely bad experience I've had. This, by no means, will stop me from visiting again. It was just such an out-in-left-field visit that I can only presume it was anomaly. I would still recommend the food here, although the drinks have certainly taken a precipitous nosedive into oblivion.
Had problem with getting my scramble correct but waitress was very kind and helpful. Definitely will try again because of the pleasant staff and atmosphere it offers
I would’ve given this place a higher rating but all the food came out cold. When I asked the waitress she said they would remake it. They just microwaved it so my scrambled soft eggs were now tough and pretty much needed to be cut. The service was excellent tho. The French toast came out warm and it was very flavorful. I’m going to try them again in the future because it’s close to home and I loved the atmosphere☺️ The mimosas were fire too🔥❤️
My family and I have eaten here a few times, both dine in and take out. The main concern is honestly their take out sauce cups. Our ranch cups melted under the heat of the food and it just made me nervous. The food is mostly okay, lacks flavor a bit and my fries usually need a round in the air fryer due to being undercooked.
Not good atmosphere, meh service especially for lgbtq or alt people… good food tho
Heard great things about this restaurant and was really looking forward to trying there food. Server was friendly but took a long time to take our order. Water had a bad taste. Most of the food was great but my biscuit was hard (they were very good about getting me another) gravy was not to my liking tasted like it had cheese in it. Asked to get our leftovers to go waitress threw them away. Probably won't return.
One and done with this place… My very first visit and I was BAFFLED at how expensive it was! A burger, small pizza and two (horrible) peach cobblers… $70! I could have eaten at a nice steak place with my mom for less than that. Never again….
Was there on Sunday afternoon. Patty melt and Pastrami sandwich were both very dry. The waitress was very nice but busy. The house salads were good . Overall the food was not that great . Disappointed. Good location and atmosphere.
Terrible service, the blonde waitress rushed us to not only to order but to leave. We were asked no questions on it we needed anything or if our food came out okay. All three of orders fell apart and my burger patty was stiff enough to roll across the floor. All this for Xmas party weeks before Christmas. Will no longer be recommending to any friends
Stopped by on a ride yesterday, never been here before. Not busy, probably not 5 customers there. Ordered Eggs over easy, hash browns, biscuit and gravy. Eggs were over cooked, burnt ring around them. Hash browns more like a shredded potato chip, over cooked. Gravy was okay, single biscuit cut in half, over baked. Bottom so burnt couldn't even get my fork through it. Worst meal I've had in quite a while. In the future we'll keep going a couple more miles to a place that consistently has great food in Lake Hughes.
My last experience was great. I'd been looking forward to my next visit which ended up being my birthday breakfast. I ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were burnt and there was barely any gravy. I never got a refill on my iced tea, nor did anyone at my table. We think the waitress was overwhelmed a bit so we didn't complain. I know that's a hard job and it was a Sunday morning. I normally would not return to a restaurant after that kind of experience, but my first visit was great. I'm on the fence currently.
I wish our experience was as good as other reviews here are. However I would be lying if I gave this more than one star. My husband and I just this morning stopped here for breakfast, my scrambled were like rubber, as if they had been setting out for hours. The over easy egg was cold and the home fries were cold. Not just room temperature, but pulled out of the fridge and slapped down on the plate cold. I only gave the one star because the staff was friendly and attentive. I can honestly say we will never again be dining at this establishment.
