I took my girlfriend here for dinner and I have to say a huge YES to this place the service was great. The delicious meal was prepared with love the chef went above and beyond when making our steak. We enjoyed the steak and all of the love put into the meal.

The food was truly amazing, the chef deserves all the praises. The staff was really friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I will be going back to try the rest of the menu and enjoy the place.

100% recommend this place it's a feel-good atmosphere came here on a Sunday night and the various life music was phenomenal. Only deducting one point coz the renewal of coils for hookah was an additional 20 dollars they don't give u a heads up on, so that felt like a rip off after we had already tipped well on the hookah u gotta pay immediate cash for. Our waitress didn't really speak English so there was also no choice on hookah lol. Else all great really welcoming and homie

Food did not have much flavor to be honest. It was warm but it did not really taste fresh. I ordered the flight tostones, great concept, but even salt on it would have been fine. I also ordered the yuca w chicharrones I think it was called? The chicharron meat was minimal to none mainly, the yuca was crispy! It was a bit busy so maybe they were pushing out orders so the quality slipped?? Service was great though! Very attentive staff and constantly checked on us. Drinks came out almost immediately and tasted well. Atmosphere was cool. I liked the decor and the unique location of the restaurant.

It’s gonna be a no for me. I’m always looking for a local spot to enjoy good food and drinks. I’ve been in this area all my life and it’s nice to see new restaurants/bars opening up. Unfortunately, I don’t think Cafe Rum is one of them. Our server was great, she was very friendly and talkative. The menu was small and very pricey for the quality of food. We ordered the pulpo (21$) for about 4/5 small pieces of over cooked octopus. We also had the Chorifrito (10$) for a few slices of sausage, both apps were also cold. We waited about 20 minutes for apps, following our ($34) Churrasco entree, also cold, and chewy, we couldn’t finish it. Drinks (14$), mojitos that did not taste like mojitos at all. We managed to spend 120$ (2 people) on 2 cold apps, a cold entree, and drinks, in Bushwick/Ridgewood. I would stick to heading to the city to pay that kind of money. It seems the owners were more interested in creating a hangout at the bar of people they know instead of caring about the quality of their food and drinks. Cafe Rum is overpriced and not worth it.
