Catalina has an upscale, artsy vibe - while serving "traditional" indigena / mexicana flavors in a unique way. The food brought back so many memories, with tastes I hadn't had in a long time. Beautifully presented plates and excellent service. Margaritas were also quite good! We ordered four different entrees and shared - bringing our leftovers home. Highly recommend!

Very good surprise in Zazil Ha! I was looking for breakfast options in the neighborhood and decided to try Catalina for the first time for breakfast, but I wasn’t expecting to eat the best enchiladas I’ve had in my life so far. The chicken filling with recado blanco (house special) sauce was sooo flavorful! Another delicious option was the sourdough toast with mascarpone cheese, cherry tomatoes, cacao nibs, balsamic vinegar, honey and arugula. Such unusual but surprisingly good. Will definitely come back. By the way, it is from the same group of Piaggia, that is a very well known and respected restaurant in the area, so it keeps the same standards.

This place is one of my favorite breakfast spots in all of Playa. The service is amazing. The food is great. It’s super cute. The prices are incredible. I love the avocado toast with a poached egg. So good! Carlos is great. There was also another lady who was assisting, and she was so great. (I forgot her name. Sorry)

Very good service, food overall, and beautiful on the inside. The cuban waiter is so cute and nice. I will say, if i had to give a constructive critique--don't cook the longaniza that way. Longaniza is Filipino sausage. We asked the Cubano what it was (to see how he would describe it) and he said: "it's like chorizo." As a Filipino person from San Diego where there are a ton of chorizo breakfast burritos, I wouldn't call it that. Longaniza is usually a sweet sausage that's typically boiled and then fried quickly in it's fat. Having it fried in it's non-oil made it taste kinda chewy and off-putting. Again, that might just because I'm filipino and I wouldn't describe it as such. And had i known it would be cooked liked that, i prolly would've gone for one of the other fun options. Still!!! Highly recommend everyone go and try some of their fun food options.

Our server, Gabriel, was amazing! So attentive and kind. We came for a birthday breakfast and they gave us a special birthday surprise on the house. The food was delicious. Loved the cozy, classy decor and the full walls of windows. The paintings on the wall were so cute.

I thoroughly enjoyed Catalina. I came in September and tried one of their specials, the Juevos Rancheros, with a side of plantains, a green juice and a coconut milk Americano. The food was delicious! It was well portioned, timely, and the chefs were accommodating of my dietary restrictions. I am a vegetarian with a seafood and almond allergy, and I had no issues here. They had a special approach to dining that incorporates all the senses, which was really cool. Gabriel my server was kind, helpful, and made me feel comfortable. He was also helpful in offering resources and instilling confidence regarding my attempts at Spanish (lol). The music, artwork and set up added to the welcoming environment as well. The restaurant is also enclosed so there weren’t any interactions with birds or dogs which sometimes happens at outdoor spaces. There are a bunch of windows so there was still a lot of light in the space. Overall one of my favorite experiences for breakfast so far. I look forward to returning to try some of the other menu options.

Tuve que cambiar mi calificación la primera vez que visité el lugar estuvo excelente esta segunda ocasión todo mal, el servicio bastante lento el mesero entrego a destiempo los platillos por lo cual los alimentos llegaron fríos, por el precio no vale ir a este lugar … dejo mi primera reseña ______➡️Acabo de conocer este lugar y me encantó. Los desayunos están buenísimos: pedí las enchiladas de la madrina y fue una experiencia totalmente diferente a lo que había probado antes. La salsa, nada ácida, combinó perfecto con el queso de costra alrededor de la tortilla… ¡deliciosas! También probé el pan francés, que viene con tocino, y es un balance perfecto entre lo dulce y lo salado. El servicio fue excelente; nuestro mesero Gabriel y Charlie siempre estuvieron muy atento y pendiente de que tuviéramos una bonita experiencia. Además, el lugar es cómodo, fresco y muy agradable otro buen punto es la selección de música. Definitivamente regresaría nuevamente.

No saben hacer un capuchino frío. Los cancelamos porque era casi pura leche tibia sin café y se molestaron por lo que ya mejor no nos trajeron la comida. Nos ignoraron y mejor nos fuimos. Íbamos a conocer no crean a influencers que hablan bien de ahí. Además de que los platillos que vimos pasar no se veían ricos.
