Sofie's Pita

I’m updating my review for Sophie’s Pizzeria, formerly Sophie’s Pita, and I have to say, they’ve really stepped up their game! I honestly didn’t love the place back when they focused only on Mediterranean dishes, but now with their pizza, it’s a different story. Of course, if you're comparing with New Jersey or New York, all of the Pizza here is pretty lame, but for California, this is pretty good. The crust is good—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—and the toppings are fresh and delicious. I love that their supreme has jalapeños on it. It’s so nice to have a decent pizza place here in Ramona! If you haven’t checked it out since the menu change, you should.

It was my first visit and won't be the last. Super friendly staff. Talked to the owner, and he made my pizza exactly as I asked. It was excellent. Can't wait to try the other food they offer. The The restaurant was spotless.

We had Sophie’s cater our uncles funeral service. The whole experience was easy and stress free. We had a very large party of 30+ people and they really did make the experience smooth and thought out. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. Thank you sunshine and family!

LOVE their gyros!! ❤️ The staff is VERY friendly, and since I go there about 1x a week, they know how I want my gyro before I even order. And their baklava is to DIE for... SO yummy!!! I recommended Sophie's to an out of town friend, who was passing thru town and wanted to know a good place to eat, and he literally DEVOURED his gyro, heaping praise on the food and the staff.

I've lived in Ramona a little over a year now and I can't believe I took this long to try sofis. It was soooo good!! I tried the chicken shawarma with garlic sauce sandwich 🤤🤤 it was delicious and made fresh. The service was good and that man is super friendly and funny.

Ate here while I was town visiting family. The Gyro was excellent and huge. Best Gyro meat I have tasted in a very long time. Fries were great as well.

Sophie's is a Ramona jewel and never disappoints. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Most frequently I'm doing take out. The dining area is clean and pleasant, if a bit noisy.

I had the chicken schwarma burrito and it was excellent. Fries were fresh, salty and crunchy; probably some of the best in ramona imo. We will be back.

My first time dining in here was an exquisite experience, I must say. The lamb gyros was to die for. It was heaping with meat, lettuce, onion, tomato, & the delicious yogurt sauce, sandwiched in a huge pita bread that was perfect consistency and fresh. The fries were seasoned with a salty/herbal sprinkle that made them taste better than any other fries in Ramona, hands-down. All for $10.00.... then, the baklava I ordered for dessert was even more delicious than the baklava I have tried from various bakeries in El Cajon. They make it in shop, & it was a generous portion for $4.50. It had many delicious layers of the perfectly oiled paper bread & grained pistachio. I savored every last bite & literally shook the pistachio remnants in the container into my mouth after. I pigged out, & I loved it. Much healthier and a better deal than alternate restaurants nearby. I am now making visits here a regular thing! Love Sofie's Pita after just 1 try. Thank you for opening up in Ramona! ♡

Great food and nice people. I stopped here for the $5 soda someone else was complaining about to find the $5 soda is soda and fries. I actually skipped this as my gyro came with fries and they were delicious. Some of the best fries I have had in ramona. I will definitely be back to try the swarma. Over all it was great medetrainian food and the price was fair and reasonable. I would highly reccomend stopping in and trying it out.

Haven't tasted a lamb gyro like this since my childhood, when my favorite Greek restaurant in Colorado foothills mall went out of business 😔😢 Sooo happy !😊 good memories. Little elderly lady told us to call her grandma. She always came to our table to say hello and bring us extra tzadziki sauce to dip our fries in.❤ Thank you Sofies Pita for restoring a Happy memory and warming my heart with an amazing dinner! I love this restaurant! GOD Bless you!

We did, called placed order, and were told, “it will be ready in 20 min”. No request for payment over the phone or sitting on hold, just a pleasant “… see you then” At pickup, it was just coming out, everyone in the kitchen, looked over and smiled or made eye contact and nodded… reminiscent of the old family restaurant where you get a “hello friend, it’s good to see you!” The food, yes, like the old school family restaurant from yesteryears. The food? A chicken pesto 20” pizza, yes 20”, cooked to perfection, Delicious pie. Also a Calzone, pepperoni, mushroom and onion. A little different in appearance, and Delicious! Do not let the name Sophie’s pita fool you. The pizza is definitely a must try!

Stopped in today after a few family members shared their good experience here. Great customer service with a clean environment. I highly recommend the gyro and baclava. Quick lunch with still being nutritious. I highly recommend stopping in!

First time to Sofie's Pita and I am very impressed. I got the gyro combo with fries. I am happy to report that the fries were appropriately seasoned, so rare these days. Also the gyro meat was not the processed gyro meat a lot of places love to use, this meat was carved off the spit and was equally delicious. All in all it was a great meal and I look forward to coming back!

Their food can be a little different depending on who's in the kitchen, which is why I gave it 4 stars. It's always good, but when the woman is cooking in the back, it's AMAZING (sorry, fellas). They're all super nice, though, and I have been happy with everything I've tried there. Their hummus is out of this world, and I have a soft spot for their beef shwarma as well. Definitely will keep going back.

Used to go here all the time for the gyro. It was absolutely delicious, but I can never go back because I got severe food poisoning from them. I know it's rare but that's why I left it at three stars cuz the food was pretty good.

This used to be a really good Mediterranean spot. Now that they’ve increased their menu options the Mediterranean food seems to have taken a back seat. Ordered the shawarma plate, which was my previous favorite, only to find it severely downgraded. Sad to see it go. Hopefully their other items will carry the load for them.

Food was just OK. I got the combo plate with Lamb/beef kabob and chicken schwarma. My beef and lamb was all burnt, with a burnt crust and the chicken schwamra was just grilled chicken with not much flavor. Prices are a little on the high end and would have expected higher quality food.

I ordered a gyro meal, 1 order 6 piece strips meal and total of 4 drinks it was over 50 bucks. I was up charged and when I did the math it was between 25-38 so I dont understand why I was up charged. I loved the food.. but not understanding their prices or what happened.

Good food but if I’m paying $5.00 extra for a soda and drink. I expect something more. Also it would be nice if you can add to the menu like Greek fries or something but yea not happy with the fries

So we tried the pizza for the first time. I must say for a pizza that cost $25 we were very disappointed. Hardly any cheese you could see bare crust in several areas and the toppings were very sparse. It’s a shame cause we used to love the Greek food and hoped it would of been just as good 😢

By burger style kofta they mean a burrito… it’s a tortilla filled with lettuce and a couple pieces of dry flavorless “meatballs”. Ordered fries and a soda with it, received only a can of soda, when called about not getting the fries the guy who answered told me that we didn’t order it as a combo and that is why we didn’t get fries. He wouldn’t let me speak and was completely unhelpful. Terrible customer service, not going back.

This place was great when it first opened - went back to have some Gyro Fries, and they put mayonnaise on it!!! Worse, it was missing the diced cucumber, tomatoes and feta that was on the shawarma fries back then - note: I also ordered shawarma fries and they were missing the above as well. Not happy - not going back.

waited here for 45 minutes, yet this disrespectful kid falsely claimed that I didn’t pick up the order that had supposedly been ready for 20 minutes just because I was sitting in my car. The truth is, I was sitting right in front of him the entire time and watching everything. When the orders were finally ready, he had the audacity to lecture me and blame me for being late. I didn’t waste my time arguing with you today because I was already late, but next time I won’t ignore this kind of behavior. Learn how to treat drivers with basic respect.
