Consistently good, real bbq burgers and chicken breast sandwiches. Everything made to order, fresh, nothing sits under a heat lamp. Condiments are fresh and varied. Fries are the best in town! You won't be disappointed.

My meal combo cost $18.00 for lunch. Really big portions, you add your own toppings at the bar and it tastes very good. Found this place through tic toc. I would recommend this place.

This place is a great little local burger shack the burgers are made fresh on the char grill and then you put all of your own toppings on. Fries are on point as well. This place has recently gotten more popular due to TikTok.

Moved out of California 5 years ago, but on this current visit I had to hit the place up again. The steak burger named "The Ugly Burger" was fantastic. Loved that you have a whole selection of condiments to pick from and serve yourself. The cook/owner was as nice as you could be. This place is a great hole in the wall non chain type restaurant to get a great burger!

To be honest, I haven’t even been to Redding, CA, but I saw a review of this place on FB tonight and I wanted to say, your customers must be truly nice people. Strangers come in and are drawn into this place like they are at home. I’ve been to a few places like this, but far too few. Whether you know it or not, you are showing people what Christian values are. If I ever get to Redding, you can bet I’ll stop by..

Great burger, having a burger bar to build out whatever you want makes it super easy with kids as well.

No nonsense grilled burgers with a condiment bar and a side of attitude. The onion rings were delicious, no need for anything to dip them in. The owners were friendly and worked hard to keep up on a busy Friday afternoon. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare and the bun was warm (that's a huge pet peave of mine). This will be my go to whenever I'm in the area.

This place reminds me of stepping back into the 80s. It's got that genx vibe, but the food is also amazing, high quality, and delicious! Go try it, you'll be glad d you did!

You can tell everyone was a regular and my husband and I were clearly new here. Super friendly people, fun stuff to look at and pretty good grub! It's not fancy and definitely not for everyone. But I recommend at least give it a go!!

The famous GIFF'S BURGER! took their special to my 95 year old Mom for lunch. Way too much for her to eat! So good!

Service was good. Lunch time had the place full of regulars. Prices are not unreasonable for what you get. The Sandwich Bar, is very well stocked and has just about anything you would want on a burger right there at your finger tips.

For those who haven't been there, it's a little different than most restaurants. When you walk in the ordering place is behind the far wall, so pay attention to the signs at the far wall at left and right corners. You have to step behind the wall to order. And make sure you order how you want your burger, I've gotten it twice when it was cooked medium rare, which I'd rather not have it that way. I like my burger at least medium well if not well done. They are good burgers, better than most, just make to order it how you want it. And there are two sizes of patties, the longer one (which yiu can get as a double, or the smaller size, which is the normal size you would expect. Giff's a cool old guy, often surrounded by a bunch of his buddies when the store isn't too busy.

Everyone was kind, food came out in a reasonable time. The place is a bit cramped, but it's also cramped with personality, They've been in town well before I was born, run by the same quick witted Veteran who will tell you how it is😂 the walls are covered in newspaper clippings, old nick nacks, and all other bits of history or quirks you'd see in grandpa's workshop. There are many burger places, but this is one you have to visit for the atmosphere.

Take out comes in a large Styrofoam clam shell. You have to open it and add any sauces or condiments from the communal bar before leaving. Meat was good, but bun was like a dry rainbow hot dog bun.

Food is great...so many choices of burger toppings. Service was good. Place is small and could have been a little cleaner as far as the tables go.

One of my favorite little hole in the wall places to eat. I've been going there since the early 80's. A must have on the menu: deep fried mushrooms, an ugly burger, the grilled chicken breast and of course the French fries. I have yet to find anything on the menu I don't like. It's all good!

So I'm going to be honest. I didn't research this as well as I should. You should know that you have to dress your burger as you want. They give you a burger to order! You add the condiments! This is not a fast food type place, plan to dress your order. Super cool throwback to the 80's and 90's Nascar. Like a time machine.

Neat place. Everyone's very friendly. Food was a little disappointing. As a connoisseur of greasy spoon cheeseburgers I was surprised by how bad the burger was. The bun is awful. I would never come back

Went here after seeing the reviews pitching charcoal grilling. Bought burgers and fries for the kiddos and myself. The burgers were entirely average and small. Nothing at all special about them, which was sad considering how much they cost. They weren't bad, they were just about what I would expect at a Burger King instead. The fries were good, and the selection of do it yourself toppings was pretty nice! The lady that took our order was nice and friendly.

Good luck going to eat here if you have a job. They're only open for 5 and 1/2 hours a day. Basically I guess they only serve lunch maybe. I have been down here multiple times trying to get a burger and every time I come here they are closed I have been by a few times during their regular operating hours but they were closed anyways, just like many moms and pop shops in town very undependable when it comes to the hours. I don't even think they're open on the weekends. Haven't been here in years because they're always closed or their hours are when everybody else is working. I guess it's just a place for retired folks. That might work out for a few of you. Sorry I couldn't give more stars I may when I get to eat there again and actually have a review based on that.

Awful environment. I have lived in Redding for 3+ years and love it. Happened upon this place and had an terrific hot dog. But as I sat there eating, 3 men were talking loudly to the owner and making some pretty disgusting remarks about women. I tried to ignore them, but it was literally them and me in the place. Thinking it was a "fluke", and having loved the hot dog, and the amazing condiment table, I went back just last week. Almost 6 months after 1st experience. While the food was great, as was the service, the same local yokels were there. As I quietly ate my lunch and checked my email, they piped up. Lots of comments about women lying about sexual harassment. I don't know if they are deaf or trying to make sure everyone there wants to be, but I'm not returning nor encouraging anyone to go there.

Really, really rude. Wish I could give less than one star. Overpriced, mediocre, and the condiments bar is a health/hygiene hazard. But mostly, the old guy owner is extremely rude & very unwelcoming
