We had a delicious lunch today. We are old and can never finish the ample servings. We got to go boxes and am so happy that they are washable and reusable! Bloody Mary and vodka cranberry cocktails were really good too. Service was awesome!

Everything is always great, except they don't have my favorite tequila. But I guess I don't need shots at lunch

The BEST brunch in town. Small plates made fresh and unlimited mimosas. Every plate can be changed a little (I don't eat meat and they gladly made my food without it). The champagne and fruit juices are set on the table so you don't have to wait for refills. Love it.

My hubby and I enjoyed this place. We loved all the staff and owners...Heather, Cameron, Marissa! They made us feel welcome. We were just visiting the area. Looking forward to seeing everyone next time we're in town. They pour a great drink and have an excellent shrimp cocktail.

Just had lunch here for the first time and my whole family loved it! We had a friendly waitress and the food was delicious. Pleasantly surprised by the large portions that were enough to make my husband full (that almost never happens at restaurants)!

I go there once or twice a week. Food is great but service and friendly atmosphere even better. Beer reasonably priced. Food also. It's my goto place for a 3 beer stop!

Stopped in here for a late lunch with my two sons July 26 . We were heading from Reno to Seattle and this was our first break in the drive. What I can tell you about this place is that the ladies working that day were phenomenal. The patrons and staff were upbeat and friendly. Great service with smiles which complimented their welcoming attitudes. The food was terrific. The portions were generous. If you're ever in the Redding area this is a perfect place to grab a great meal for a good price while being served by some energetic, kind, and attractive ladies who certainly complimented the atmosphere . We live in Lancaster PA and wish there was a place like this to go home to. Food, atmosphere, and the town get an A+.

Post Office Saloon & Grill is a great option Downtown Redding for either lunch or dinner. I had their Friday special of Birria Tacos and they were delicious! The owners are local and they work there too! If you want to support a great local option Downtown this is a solid option. Also, the prices are very fair and reasonable.

The atmosphere was cozy and very open with warm lighting. They were prompt to get our orders taken and the food was absolutely delicious 😋 for appetizers we shared a plate of beef nachos and calamari. The calamari was nice and big and was hot and crispy and so buttery soft! The nachos were perfectly cheesy and loaded with lots of toppings and stayed crisp and crunchy~ I can't remember what my burger was called but it so good! California something I think 🤔 it was delightful! I chose onion rings as my side and they were fresh, crispy, and cooked to perfection 👌

J

Oh my golly, the meat in these burgers is AMAZING. It's got to be ground steak. The quality of this food is far above what you'd expect from a hole in the wall bar and grill. The onion rings... Do you see that picture? They're even better than they look. Go here. Just do it.

Man, talk about a hidden gem. You'd never guess this place has such good food. Not to say the place isn't nice, it's a got a casual, sports bar vibe. I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience! The service was impeccable, and the staff ensured our experience was seamless from start to finish. I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens and cornbread, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Went to Sunday Brunch last weekend while we were in town for an event at the race track based off reviews and it didn't disappoint. Atmosphere - looks like a typical sports bar setup with big televisions, bar tables, etc..but don't be fooled. These people know how to strap the feed bag on. Their approach to Sunday Brunch is unique. They have an option for a flat fee/all you can eat menu which was $40 with bottomless mimosas or $28 for food only. We don't drink so we chose the "food only" option. Here's how it works: They have a decent selection on the "all you can eat" menu. You can order 2 items at a time on an unlimited basis. The dishes are like "small plates" so if you order eggs benedict, you'll get one english muffin half with the ham/egg/hollandaise...or if you order chicken fried steak, you get a small-ish portion with gravy (not a whole entire breakfast). Very unique. With this "small plate" approach you can try quite a few of their items before you want to crawl off to a corner and hibernate for the winter. This place is busy, so don't get pissy about "quick service". Just be patient and enjoy it. Our waitperson was awesome and personable..kinda like my mom if I actually liked my mother. If this is your mom, good on you..she's a gem! We spent almost 2 hours there visiting and enjoying the experience. We're definitely going to return the next time we're in Redding. It's a good thing we don't live there...I could see this becoming a real problem for me if we did.

Always been a big fan of the Post Office. My BFF and I stopped in around lunch time and asked for a salad split in two. It came as two whole salads. While the wine and the overall grade of the salad was good I feel badly to mention the mistake by the (obvs new) staff member. Everything else was really good!

My Favorite place and sad I can't go 5 stars! I don't know if there is a new cook? I didn't review my previous visit because this is my favorite place and didn't want to post anything negative, but the food seems to be changed up rather than their traditional Saloon and Grill foods it seems like it is trying to make it to fancy, garlic bread for a French Dip (which was all fat) is not needed. Our current visit, items from the meal were missing and had to ask the server for missing items and for condiments. Bar drinks were filled with ice to the rim so you got three sips of you drink and it was gone. My favorite place will be back but past two visits has been disappointing :(

A

I don't drink or eat unprocessed beef, so the atmosphere isn't exactly my first choice, however the food and service are both very good! If you're looking for good, fried comfort food or a unique and neat bar, this is a great spot. For those wondering why I would go to a saloon and grill- group functions 🙂

This place has been around forever! As I recall, they changed hands several years ago and the same people own Maxwell's. They have the selection of food, always been good. Service is usually good, depending on the time you are there. It has a fun, old school feel to it and isn't too loud (Like Maxwell's). I love wraps and they had a great turkey n swiss wrap that was probably more heathly looking than it was, but it tasted great. UPDATE!! new owners are amazing, great new menu, super good food.. keeping this landmark alive and well!

This was my first time at the Post Office Saloon and was excited to check it out. The restaurant was very clean and the decor was well designed and comfortable. Our waitress was friendly to a point but since I usually go to restaurants shortly after the lunch or dinner rush (one of the advantages of being retired) she seemed to be ready to go home. I ordered a Bloody Mary and asked if the steak sandwich was a good choice. She said that it was popular and that "everyone loved it." The drink was very good, I would give it an 8/10. The mix was thick and just a little bit spicy, the vodka (house brand) was in balance to the mix and the drink was well dressed with pickled asparagus, olives, lime and lemon slices. I was charged $7.50 for it which is about right. The steak sandwich was another story. I had requested it be cooked to medium rare but when I saw how thin it was I was surprised that they even bothered asking me how I wanted it cooked. Seriously, the fries were thicker than the steak! It was well seasoned and was served opened-face with onions and mushrooms but my first three bites were all fat. The rest of it was tough and over cooked. I only ate half of it and when the waitress dropped of the check she asked if I wanted a box for the rest of the sandwich. I told her politely that I really didn't care for it. She replied, "Oh well" and left. For $16 I expected better. I will not be hurrying back to the Post Office.

When I first went to the Post Office it was awesome! Wonderful atmosphere and service and the food and drinks were spectacular. My wife and I loved it. They told us that they were actually going to be changing their menu and that it was going to be better than before. Post Office is a bit pricey, so we gave it a couple of months and came back to it to check out the new menu. The new menu is pretty bad. Not sure what it is with Post Office and soups and salads but trying to sell me a menu of soups and salads, each for 15-30 dollars is not my idea of better. I'm not sure who thought their menu was better, but it is not. Drinks are good still but at the point that I'm at if I'm going to a bar I'd expect the drinks to be good. Hell, if I'm going ANYWHERE that serves drinks its standard that your drinks be good. The atmosphere and service is about the same, minus a new bartender who when we told her that we didn't really see anything on the menu she flat out ignored us, took the menus from us and walked away and never answered us after that. If that kind of service and the new menu is the future of this place, count me out.

The concept of their bottomless brunch on Sunday is a great one! Smaller bites off of a limited menu, you can order unlimited dishes to try and I just love that idea! There is also an option to have bottomless mimosas which I passed on. That being said, I am not sure if they were short staffed or what, but it appeared that they only ha one person servicing the whole place when we dined in around 10am. Service definitely suffered. I asked for tea and had to remind the server after about 20 minutes that I ordered one. Then another person in our group asked for tea and they waited another 20-30 minutes to get theirs. After eating half of my benedict, I found a hair in my food. I tried 4 dishes and out of those 4 I only really enjoyed one. I am not sure if they are under new management, but they definitely have some kinks to work out before I try them again. Super bummed by this experience.

C
CBA W

Solid Menu, but that only goes so far to offset being short-staffed during a brunch rush when you have bottomless mimosas that you run out of. Y'all got some great food, now pair it with better schedule management to not have 30-minute waits for menu orders after we're seated and we'll be back.

First time there . Seen all the pictures and reviews on Facebook. We got there about 12.45 .we had a seat the waitress was very nice got us some water . And got us are drinks (ice tea and pepsi)and then we waited and waited to order are food .till finally I walked up to the bar and ask to pay for the drinks because they were not going to take are order. They did apologize and give us are drinks . To bad really wanted to eat there

I ate there for the first time today and was not impressed at all. Bottomless mimosas and brunch sounded so yummy, so my son and I decided to go, the food was horrible and way over priced. My server didn’t even offer to bag our left overs to take home, to me that’s rude. I always heard they’re a good place to eat, but I would not go back. Maybe lunch and dinner is different.

R
Rachel

To be completely honest the food is so good but not worth the service, it is genuinely terrible. I’ve dined in before and ended up leaving due to no service for a hot minute while the waitress was serving either friends or regulars. Fast forward to now I’ve done take out orders to which the food is always wrong, the girls in the front are rude and snatchy. Not to mention one of the girls, blonde I think, carries a small baby in a baby carrier on her while working.. I totally advocate for bringing your kids to work and such but wearing a baby while making food seems not right lol idk judge for yourself tho 🤷‍♀️
