Amazing vintage steakhouse and bar. Had the Flatiron cooked medium. It was perfect. Butter soft, perfect temperature, well seasoned and flavorful. Mashed potting was good too. My wife had the fried shrimp. She loved it. Salad was decent but small. Highly recommended.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on Sunday afternoon. Not busy. Always very friendly help. Sliders were really great! Fried green beans are always my favorite. Turkey sandwich was good but too big to fit in a normal mouth. Definitely would return and buy these items again!

Just a really nice place. It was my birthday on st Patrick's Day and there were bagpipes strolling and they played happy birthday song for me. I liked that a lot. Our waiter was Matt and he's a very good waiter. The steak was wonderful and Mom had salmon and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. One of these days I'm gonna get that prime rib dinner. Over all I couldn't have picked a better place to have my birthday dinner. This place is GREAT and will definitely be seeing us again soon. Thank you very much.

Came here on a friend's rec. Specifically because I was craving fish and chips. So that's what I got. I was expecting a big piece but got 3 small ones instead (not necessarily a bad thing). The service was great very friendly the atmosphere was a chill cozy vibe as we were sat on the inside. The fish was crispy and delicious, fried perfectly. The fries were nothing special, the slaw was good too, for the prices I wasn't expecting plastic containers for the sauces but that's just a side note. Asked for medium on the steak got well done, came with a side of veggies but left us asking "where are the veggies" portion was questionable. I will say, the mahi tacos were delicious.

I would actually give tartan 3 1/2 Stars overall if it was offered. The reason I would do that is because the owners fail to offer any Hangar 24 or any other local breweries beer. In this day and age of local craft beers this is simply unacceptable. A historical and I'll say legendary gastro pub such as Tartan should proudly represent some locally fermented drafts! I remember the previous owner used to at least offer Betty IPA on the menu.

Visited the Tartan for a lunch date with my wife, as we'd heard a lot about it, but had never visited. When you walk in, you are transported to another space. It is dimly lit, with large, comfortable booths and feels like a true classic lounge from days gone by. Our initial introduction was with a hostess who felt like ignoring our requests for help, and then informing us "it's not my job" when requesting seating was a bit disheartening. However, once helped by a younger staff member, we were seated at a lovely spot near the back of the space to quietly take in the surroundings and have a delightful lunch date. While there is music playing in the space, it's not overpowering, and the playlist/songs were fantastic for us younger Gen-X visitors, bringing back memories of earlier years. We ordered the fish and chips, a turkey wrap with onion rings and a bowl of soup - I'm forgetting if it was cream of mushroom or celery. All the items were VERY tasty. Noting the prices were a bit higher than we were expecting, we were delighted to see that the portions and quality of food was generous. The soup was truly a highlight, despite the fact that my brain can't recall what type it was. It was creamy, hot and well seasoned. I would definitely come back for a lunch or dinner date. And I've heard they have killer pancakes (maybe specifically blueberry pancakes?) on the weekends. Just hopeful whatever caused the original hostess to be having a rough day was resolved. Come escape to another time and place in this magical spot, and support a Redlands institution!

It was not what I expected. I'd equate it to Sizzler, but a little classier. Not Ruth's Cris classy, but a working mans' classy. Actually, it was very reasonable. Soup, rib eye steak, baked potato, Tartan Surprise for dessert, 2 x Belvedere and an Amoretto was $100, w/o tip. I was expecting to pay more. Dated interior w red leather seats (but good service, thx Devon!) and outdoor patio seating. All were doing brisk business on a Thursday night. Families with kids, couples and workers. Come to think of it, I just may go back.

Servers were polite and friendly. But food was really bad. First my soup was cold. The food was cold when brought out. My salmon was dry and no seasoning at all. I had to add butter from my very dry and cold baked potato. The bacon bits were so hard I could not identify at first which were charged separately. So, last night was my birthday and I was taken out by 3 friends. To what was described to me as a superb steakhouse. we ordered 2 8 ounce flat steaks for $23.99 a plate. Waitress informs us they no longer carry the flat iron steak now it's top sirloin. Mid change the waitresses changed the menu and the pricing. When we received our dinner plates they had 1 piece of garlic bread a 6 oz top sirloin. I carrot and 3 sprigs of asparagus. Upon reading the check the cost of the steak increased by $5.00. I asked our waitress if they had changed the menu? They had. They changed their menu mid meal. She came back and lied to me about the cost of the steak and only gave us a discount of $2.00. I will never come here again 😤 the band never did play

If I could give this restaurant a -5 star I would. I went tonight expecting to hear the band Glacier Blue. When I got there, some band was there called The Beatles. They were HORRIBLE!!!! I couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman singing. All I know is that they sounded like a Bullfrog bellowing to be put out of their misery.(no exaggeration) I was SO SO SO DISAPPOINTED! I drive a long ways to enjoy Glacier Blue. I never go for the food, because honestly the food is mediocre. We have been patronizing The Tartan for many years but have become very disappointed in the food as well as the service. Twice on Saturday evening the prime rib ordered rare has been served well done and then told there was none left to replace the over done meat. The waitress was more than slow taking orders as well as simply not caring about the food served. We won’t be going back.

My husband and I have always gone with out reservations here and always go only Friday- Sunday. We are seniors and today we were told there was no table available and when asked the waiting time the girl would not give us a time. She said we have the outside available. There was 3 empty table spread out inside and a booth. My husband said “you have the empty tables and a booth and the girl said but we have reservations in 1 hour. It made us feel sick to our stomach when she said that it was like we could have been sat in one and done in 1 hour. I believe this will be our last day coming to this please my husband has been coming here for 15 plus years. It still chokes us and you had to be thereto hear how the girl told us no room as we’re seeing empty tables at least 4 or 5 empty, as if she just didn’t want to sit us inside. Why we asked ourselves and could not figure why but felt it was us. We left and said we came to have a warm sit down dinner not to freeze outside on a cold day. I asked myself did she not like that I was Hispanic and my husband Caucasian or because we were dressed casual. We will never know but there was room inside and reservations an hour later just not a good reason. I’ve told many people to go to Tartans I will tell people do not go here.
