Little Goat is praised for its inviting atmosphere, excellent service (especially Jack and Esteban), and delicious food. The chicken is a standout dish. Some find it pricey and service can be slow when understaffed.

Great food and service
Such a great addition to town!
So delicious!!!
Brandon made the entire experience wonderful. Ask for him as your server if you plan on going!
The best bite of chicken ever!
What is wrong with you people giving Little Goat 4.2 stars?! This place is incredible and truly making some of the most inventive dishes in the Hudson Valley. We drive down from Hudson to avoid the overpriced, touristy places there just to come to Little Goat. The asparagus burrata starter is divine and the steak is so perfectly tender. Also the cocktails are fantastic and not just overpriced dive bar pours. 10/10 no notes!
We had a lovely comfortable evening with family around the table. Music was just right and the service was gracious with a surprising weeknight crowd! My fish was delicious perfectly seasoned, moist and hot,
Food tastes excellent, but small amount. Everything else was excellent.
I visited for dinner. The food was relatively light and really well prepared. The chicken was very tender and flavorful, the pork ragu pasta rich yet light, and the carrots with harissa were simple and still had layers of flavors. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the place provides a relaxed, clean vibe.
It is such an amazing restaurant. It is so delicious and everyone is so kind.
10/10 for everything! Service, food , drink! The absolute most polite staff I've ever had the pleasure to be served by. Top notch service from beginning to end.
We had an absolutely great experience at this gem of a restaurant. Rarely do we dine at a restaurant and enjoy every single dish that came out the kitchen but that was the case here at Little Goat. From the olives, whipped feta, fried halloumi starters to the pollock and beef mains, everything was delicious and well seasoned. Needless to say, we will be back to try the other items on their menu.
Delicious food and dessert! Friendly and attentive wait staff. Would absolutely come again for a splurging night out.
Great dinner and lunch! Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Staff was great as well.
I LOVE this new spot. The ambiance is beautiful. It’s a perfect place for tapas and cocktails. The grilled carrots, crispy potatoes, marinated olives, and charred spring peas were so tasty. We tried the fish for an entree and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The bartender, Mason, seems to be a skilled mixologist and has a great personality. I really enjoyed my 1st time here and will be back soon to try the rest of the menu!
A really outstanding addition to the restaurant scene in Rhinebeck. The menu is manageable and in two visits with groups of four and seven, we tried just about everything and found it all delicious. The portion sizes are perfect for one, and priced accordingly. The service was very good the first time we ate here, and excelent the second time. There is a nice selection of house cocktails, and small but well chosen selection of wines by the glass and bottle. There is good energy here, and it's clearly a professionally run restaurant.
The little goat is an amazing restaurant with an incredible atmosphere and vibe. The service staff were very accommodating and friendly!
We had a fantastic dinner here. Big group so we ordered most of the menu and it was all fantastic. Service friendly too. Can’t wait to return for breakfast and lunch.
10/10. The cuisine is unique for rhinebeck. Flavor profiles memorable. Service excellent. Ambiance is inviting. New favorite
flawless experience. ate there last night loved it so much i’m coming back again tonight
beautiful rustic spot! great to drop in on while you’re spending the day window shopping
Great food! And staff was amazing
Food was so good! Service was phenomenal
Lovely spot for a snack or coffee.
Excellent restaurant with great food!
The best part of my trip! Great coffee with a tahini chocolate chip cookie…..yes please! All the staff were beyond helpful and kind! A must try if you are in Rhinebeck!
Amazing service & food! Wine is great, food is beautiful and loveee the vibe inside. So glad this place opened up! Have been a couple times now and am always excited to go back.
The LG is under-starred! Delicious - every bite. We had 3 starters - fingerlings (slaty, crispy, yum!), ham & mustard (savory & pungent), and the gnocchi (blue cheese & bacon bits wow) - all a hit. Dinner entrees - meats and pastas - were all scrumptious. Party of six, and six happy tummies. Tried several desserts. None survived. All killed. So good. Go. Go now.
I can’t say enough good things about Little Goat. Everything was a 10 out of 10 for me. It has a very rustic cozy vibe inside; almost feels like you’re eating in someone’s home. Our servers were all amazing, polite and attentive. The drinks were great! Whoever they have working behind, the bar, really knows what they’re doing .The food was so special. Really feels like so much thought went into each dish. Unique well balanced flavors, never too much seasoning and certainly never not enough. Perfection. I will be returning here as often as possible.
Incredible experience for the second time at little goat!! The food is absolutely amazing. The rigatoni, chicken, risotto & the desserts are all 100/10. Thank you!!
Service was great! Esteban, our front server, was very kind and friendly. The interior is beautiful and very lively. The pork was very nicely cooked and paired nicely with the stone fruit. The potatoes were super crispy, and we liked the aioli. The mezze plate was a nice portion for two and was delicious. We had a great time and would come back again😻
The egg sandwich with merguez sausage is easily the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had (and I’ve had many)! Curried squash soup was also delicious. Great service and atmosphere.
Delicious Mediterranean food (from someone that doesn’t love Mediterranean food!) Every dish we had was better than the next. Jack was an amazing server.
Excellent service and delicious food. Highly recommend the chicken and trout mains! Our compliments to the chef and the staff!

Had a lovely lunch with friends recently at this spot. Everything was fresh and delicious ---one of the best caesars I've had! Nothing was overpriced--- which is honestly surprising when you go to a cool spot with great food! Every server that came to our table was warm and friendly. We spoke to the manager, a young cool chick, SO lovely, she knew a lot about the menu! I'll be back :)
Little Goat is a fantastic spot located right in the village of Rhinebeck, making it an easy and welcoming place to stop for dinner. The atmosphere is warm and the service was great. We ordered shared entrées for dinner and the chicken was absolutely incredible. Perfectly seasoned, cooked beautifully, and definitely a standout dish. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
My family and I had dinner here in August when we were here for my son's graduation. The restaurant felt very inviting and the vibe was classy yet cozy. Our server was very attentive and made good recommendations for appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The pasta was some of the best I have had in a long time. The salad and appetizers were very fresh and tasty. The portions were good size and we left very satisfied. We will definitely go back if we visit Rhinebeck again!
This was our first visit to Little Goat and we had a wonderful experience. The Friday night vibe was lively and fun with an interesting, diverse crowd. Decor, lighting, and music are on point. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and professional, knew the menu well, and was able to make great suggestions. And the food was the true star--excellent! We had Caesar salads, chicken and the trout entrees with a side of crispy potatoes and roast squash, and one of each of the desserts, and all were outstanding. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. Highly recommended.
My wife and I had a fantastic meal here while vacationing in the area. The space is beautiful and welcoming, inside and out. Our food and drink was fantastic across the board - interesting flavors, extremely fresh, and well presented. The portions were also very generous. All meat dishes had the farms identified where the animals were raised, which was much appreciated. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town!
Food and wine are amazing and creative. Sometimes they are a little under staffed and things take too long but otherwise a wonderful place! Pricey though! They should provide larger glasses of wine. The sparkling water is insanely expensive, it’s true, but it’s also the best sparkling water I’ve had.

I went here for a birthday lunch. Food was GREAT! The space is beautiful. The service was fine—good, but not noteworthy. I just wish there was a real wine list instead of a couple sort of lackluster by the glass options. Maybe they have one for dinner(?), but it feels like they need help in that department.
Really nice place for lunch. The food was very good, not great, but a solid choice.
Food was pretty, pretty good but a bit on the bland side. And pricey. Space is very nice. I'm looking forward to breakfast and lunch!
Very nice ambience. Food was great. Service feels more NYC if you know what that means. Hopefully they improve in the future.
Very positive experience at Little Goat. Tyler, our server, was very friendly and competent. The place is lively without being too noisy. The food is delicious without being too fussy. The shared mezze appetizer was very nice (we had to ask for additional flat bread because it was not enough for four). The salads were all flavorful and creative, especially the cauliflower salad. The gnudi was fair, nothing to write home about. As a pescatarian my choices were limited. The chicken (two people in my party had chicken) came surprisingly with no sides and no option for sides. All good, but probably there is room for slight improvements, all to be expected considering that Little Goat is a brand new establishment.

I had been to this restaurant under prior management and had been disappointed so I was curious to revisit. The food was a lot better than I had expected, the service good (not great), and the ambience was very attractive with the temporary noise leve: a group of 5 sitting next to us seemed unaware that their volume made it impossible for anyone near them to hear themselves speak. Luckily, they left after half an hour, and from that point, our meal was very enjoyable. The carrot “course” was particularly delicious and generous in proportion. The trout was Perfectly cooked w a fabulous crispy skin on top. Unfortunately, my glass of white wine was not Chilled when it first came, nor was the new bottle. They brought ice. The friendly waitress had to be prompted to offer us dessert And refill our tiny water Glasses . The bathroom had run out of toilet paper. The lighting and atmosphere was very attractive.

really cute place but could really use some better management. service was almost nonexistent and extremely slow when it did happen. several people just walked around aimlessly or camped out at the bar to chat with their friend. we stood waiting to be seated for at least 10 minutes with no greeting from the person working the front or anyone else. such a strange experience over all..
It was not our favorite sadly. The portions felt a little small, and we didn't love our food. I got a pasta that looked on the menu like it was a pasta limone (it said "linguine, lemon, parsley, garlic") but was actually just a very oily aglio e olio. No lemon flavor whatsoever. I asked the server for lemons to squeeze on it which improved it but, if that's what it is, why not just say aglio e olio on the menu? I told the server afterwards that I was disappointed it had no lemon flavor (and I'm being honest, not much flavor in general) and he just said "okay!" and smiled. Didn't offer to tell the chef, etc. Too expensive for this kind of stuff to happen, sorry!
Loved the new look of the restaurant… food was good (wedge salad was delicious) BUT big fail: the host asked us to leave to free up the table! My friend and I are residents and go out often Gonna think twice before returning Too bad!
Delightful however it was slightly cold inside
Nice atmosphere with decent food, but the service is slow as molasses. Came for lunch and had trouble getting our waiter’s attention for drinks, to order, for our check… It was also very cold in the dining room with all servers having to wear fleece jackets, heavy sweaters, etc… I felt badly for them.
Walking into the restaurant, we waited for someone to pay attention to us. We stood there for a while with nobody at the desk and then asked behind the counter if we needed to seat ourselves, whereupon a man came out and very snootily, queried “your name?” No hello, just the question. His attitude was unpleasant to say the least. We did not have a reservation and it was 12 o’clock lunchtime on a Thursday so we really didn’t think we needed one. Then we were told that there were no tables available even though most of the tables in the restaurant were empty. When we acted surprised at the news, he explained that people would be showing up in 15 minutes to claim their tables. Fine. We were on our way out the door when he came back to us and told us that if we could finish in one hour, we could be seated. We decided to stay. Server asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. I asked for sparkling. A very large bottle of sparkling water appeared on the table. We ordered. The food came. The server was delightful. The food was ok, not great. We ended up being charged $20(!!) for the bottle of sparkling water, which we weren’t told when we ordered it. This was a big mistake. It left me with a bad taste (no pun intended) in my mouth. The check for two sandwiches, two coffees and the sparkling water came to $68. You decide if it was worth it.
Oh dear. I bought a Takeaway lunch to eat out on the porch and while it was tasty, honestly, it was the smallest salad I have ever been served. And I’m talking even a side salad! It was teeny. And while the Caesar dressing was very good, it was very overdressed. And they brought me the takeout box, but I had to run in anyway to get my own fork and knife. ???? With the little salad, a cookie, and tip. The total came to $27 but I went around the corner and got some falafel balls because I was still so hungry. Little goat is a very pretty place and staffed by what seem to be very friendly people. Not so eager to return based on this experience, however.
Come for the atmosphere, and order the wine by the bottle! We’d been cautioned about this place by a friend but it’s so beautiful we gave it a go. Vibe is great and service was attentive…. Food fell pretty short. Cucumber salad dish felt incomplete - needed some acidity, chicken was nicely cooked but over salted, dessert was probably the best to be honest (made better by Paul Rudd arriving on the table beside us). Biggest insult had to be wine by the glass: served in a small glass, and probably two shots worth. Get a bottle so you can pour more liberally - and maybe eat elsewhere after…

Food good Portions small Service awful
We used to frequent the Amsterdam and were curious of the new cafe. I must stay the place is beautiful, but decided not to stay due to the little man with the long-hair and beard that greeted us at the counter. Awful customer service. Didn’t even look at us when he was greeting us nor did he wish to give us the time of day when I asked a few questions. I may return to test the food. But if he is there, I will not bother.
The place is undeniably beautiful. However, even though the sign outside says ‘café,’ think twice before stopping by just for a coffee and a cookie, the owner might make you feel judged for it.
Muffins ROCK hard. Asked 2 employees to heat it up and both refused without an ounce of hospitality (while they have a kitchen serving hot food in back).
Service very slow. They forgot to bring us our sandwiches! Ham sandwich dry. Ban Mi forgettable. Totally prebooked when we arrived. So call ahead if you still want to go...
Food was okay, taste good but nothing special. Low rating because the portions were tiny for the price. We ordered a salad and it was like an appetizer portion, with a few leaves. It looked on the menu like it would be a main and was priced as such.
All the bakery items look beautiful but I tried the fig cardamom scone and there's no specific taste of anything in the scone. It just tastes like the oil that is used for the scone. There's no flavor. They can do better. I also had the mushroom eggplant sandwich and it was pretty good but very messy. The oil from the spicy sauce just was all over the place. Not to mention how small the scone was.
Slight antebellum vibes. Manager seemed more controlling than a position of leadership. Having two young black women greeting customers wearing plantation period uniforms felt extremely racially insensitive. The atmosphere didn't feel warm or jovial but anxious and repressed. Very fitting for the design . All the young women working were very sweet and extremely attentive!

long haired short man manager was awful, didn’t know what he what he was doing. Waitress was super sweet and very good. Food was great. The manager was hard to watch….. making tiny comments to the servers and staff that didn’t make sense while he was eating
RUN … faster than the GOAT. Horrible. We were seated and told we had 30 mins before we had to vacate, due to the table being reserved. Menu was blander than the paper it was written on. Pricey. Most of all very pretentious. RUN !!
Absurdly overpriced. $15 for a 12oz chai w one shot of espresso.
Place is nice but the food made me ill - Avoid the chicken mah ni! Food especially the cucumber salad was way overpriced as well. Much better options in town.
Very unfriendly and like a robot atmosphere.
First time I walked in to this place 2/20/26 to check it out. Entered seeing 3 young women working at the counter. No welcome greeting. No smiles. No words spoken. Just eye rolls and stares as I’m trying to find a menu to order something. I asked for a cup of coffee and sat down. Only two other people were inside the cafeteria- like atmosphere. Coffee was good but I’ll never go back. I’ll stick with Samuel’s around the corner where they are friendly and welcoming.
Went into Little Goat expecting a cozy spot and a good meal, but it ended up being one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. It was absolutely freezing inside. People were still wearing their coats and hats at their tables, and even our server mentioned how cold it was and was visibly shivering. I asked the long-haired manager about the temperature and he was incredibly dismissive and rude. He insisted the heat was “as high as it goes,” even though the thermostat nearby read 45 degrees, which is honestly wild for a restaurant. Between the cold and the attitude, the whole place felt really unwelcoming. We didn’t stay as long as we normally would and definitely didn’t enjoy the experience. Very disappointing.
Walked in for a coffee and pastry. The guy working (afternoon of 02/22/26) was EXTREMELY rude to my significant other just because she was looking around just to get the feel of the place. His snotty "may I help you?" To her and the follow up with "that area is off limits" (tables that were set) were VERY unwelcoming so we decided to spend our money a couple doors down at the tea shop was money well spent. The girls in there were very friendly and outgoing. The little Goat will never see a dime of our money.
