Tonight I was celebrating my birthday and had an amazing time. The food was amazing and Brandon provided the best service. I appreciated Brandon's recommendations and the food did not disappoint.

This was a random pick and boy are we glad we stopped here. Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Glass garage doors allow the outside to come in on days that were nice like tonight. Our server Blu was amazing and she was assisted by the bartender Brandon who wa also great. We started with the calamari which is a go to for my wife and I and hands down some of the best…maybe the best ever. Then we had the fish and chips and mahi mahi curry. Oh my goodness…so awesome. The only thing we didn’t get is why there was not a waitlist. This place is a must. We will be back!!

What an amazing experience. My family and I went during the holidays and it was so fulfilling. Drinks, food and service was great! Thank you so much Brandon I’ll be back soon!

Good atmosphere, amazing deck and beautiful views of the Richmond skyline. The service was also great, kudos to our server Lajoi!

Fantastic meal. You get (2) pineapple boats filled with shrimp plus a bottle of wine for $60. Every Wednesday. Today Jazzy and Ali (the manager) waited on us. Good meal and service!

My family of 10 recently met to celebrate my birthday at the Island Shrimp Co. It was my first time there.Everything was fabulous ! We had reserved a table and were seated in an excellent spot at the back .We had a beautiful view,overlooking the James River .Our server was Natasha, and she took such good care of us! All 3 of my granddaughters are celiac, so we are always searching for new places with GF options. We ordered a variety of cocktails, salads,sandwiches, and meals.We tried the crab dip and a shrimp appetizer that was so good,we had to order another. All the meals we ordered were delicious!The portions were good, with the exception of an underwhelming Chef salad.The Pineapple Boats and the Fish and chips were our favorites .Oh,and how could I forget the band out on the patio! We can't wait to go back!

Brandon is a rockstar and gave great service and convo. Great happy hour specials and affordable. Grace is awesome too. Nice to go somewhere and the service is great along with the food.0

My husband and I visited Island Shrimp Co for the first time yesterday to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and showed to our beautiful, warm, and well decorated igloo (worth the extra cost!!) Our waitress was Maryna and she was very friendly and attentive. The food was served quickly and at the correct temperature, and tasted delicious. We had mixed drinks and dessert as well and everything was to die for. We are already planning our next trip back-it was well worth the hour drive there!

The food was delicious. Our server, Brandi was amazing. She is pleasant, offered insight on menu options and was very attentive.

This was my first time and it was such a wonderful experience! We ate outdoors in the igloo to celebrate my birthday! It was warm and beautiful decorated. They made it such a memorable experience with a special birthday card and dessert! The lobster and shrimp pineapple boat was absolutely delicious! Our Server Taleigha was amazing, very attentive and made great recommendations from the menu from drinks to food. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for such a wonderful dinner and ambiance!

If you haven't tried this place, highly recommend you do. Hands down best service, drinks and seafood in the richmond area.

Great restaurant on the waterfront with complimentary parking. Delicious shrimp appetizer with 3 kinds of shrimp we recommend as a meal. A very fun place to be.

Best Fish Sandwich! And the patio dinning view of the James River below was nice (photo op). We combined an order of Hawwian Sweet Bread with a Fish & Chips plate.

Our party of 2 were seated immediately. We sat in the patio. The server, Natasha, was very pleasant and sweet. The food was delicious. Definitely recommended!

Natasha was so helpful in accommodating our large group last minute. Service was great and she was very personable. Would come back on our next visit to Richmond.

Got reservations and spent New Year's Eve dining here, from the appetizer and drinks to the entree and service everything was spot on. It's a little beach getaway right here In Richmond, highly recommend!

Of course great view but was surprised when food was just as great! Coconut shrimp was great with the siracha mayo sauce. The crab dip was smaller portion but suuuper good with the wonton chips. And shrimp tacos were great also!

Our waiter Jonathan was amazing. He was amazingly patient, super friendly and very thorough. We loved the island vibes and the attention to detail.

Stopped in during the Christmas season between events. Really fun, festive decorations. Would have loved to come back to try one of those igloo! We did enjoy the huge bar, fun festive drinks, live music, and those fabulous coconut shrimp. Great deal on all during happy hour. Wish parking was a lot easier for people without mass transit options, but this place is worth the trip!

We made reservations for lunch outside today. I am vegetarian, and Myrna was very helpful with pointing out vegetarian options. I ordered the Teriyaki Pineapple Broccoli Boat which she said was pretty popular, and it was delicious! The Janes River view was incredible! Thanks Myrna!!

I figure we'd popped into this place after going to RVA indoor golf the atmosphere was incredible Love the view seeing the river from this angle was great The food was phenomenal everything was fresh and tasty and the drinks were cold and Jazz kept them coming as much as we asked for very happy to have stopped here and I recommend you do too!!

Would love to do a shout out to my server LAJOI! She is so awesome. She greeted us with a smile and didn’t heatitate to provide of with water and drinks. She was super helpful with menu favorites and as very kind with making sure our food was enjoyable. She made sure to attend to our needs and even had my baby girl smiling from ear to ear. That’s what I call great customer service! LAJOI you’re super awesome and you made our dining experience one we will not soon forget!!!

Came to Island Shrimp Co. and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot you can tell they really put love into what they serve. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed, and perfect for just enjoying yourself without feeling rushed. But the real highlight was our server Joi. She was super personable and made us feel genuinely welcomed the moment she came to the table. Joi checked in on us just the right amount, made great recommendations, and kept the energy positive the whole time. You can tell she actually cares about her guest experience Highly recommend this place for the food and the service!

This place is a gem! Located right on the James with a beautiful view and the decor is very cute and on-brand for a quaint, family friendly seafood restaurant. Our food was fantastic! I ordered the teriyaki salmon and I will definitely come back to order it again! Cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. I didn’t get any photos because I proceeded to dig in right away. 🤣 The timing was also very impressive. My family and I received our meals within 20 or so minutes. Our server Jazzy was so sweet and took such good care of us. Overall, a wonderful place to dine and I will surely be back!

I ordered the Seared broccoli pineapple boat. It was delicious. It's a great meal for vegans or anyone who loves veggies and fruit! My partner ordered the crab and artichoke dip and the fish tacos. He enjoyed them. Towards the end of our meal we were able to indulge in the pineapple upside down cake. 😩🤤 It was warm and tasted delightful. A great end to our lunch. Our server, Joi, was very kind and personable. She made great drinks and would check on us at the right to. The general manager stop to chat with us. I learned she was vegan and recommended the chorizo dish. We didn't plan to stop here for lunch, it was impromptu but happy that we did. What a great experience. We will be back and look forward to the live music on Friday's.

The vibe was everything. There was a live band that was amazing. Jazzy, Brandon, and Kristen were amazing as soon as we walked in the door. They catered to us, gave tremendous customer service and most importantly made great drinks. Very housepitable.

Shrimp Island Co is always a go to for my friends and I. We had an amazing waiter Stas who was attentive and pleasant! We look forward to coming back again soon. If you can please try the pineapple creme brulee!

The food is well prepared and the portions are good sized. The staff is remarkable and well trained and we appreciated everything they did to make our visit an enjoyable experience. I would recommend Island Shrimp Co. if you would like to dine next to the James River.

In Richmond with daughter and my guy. He and I did a lunch date here. Food was good. Drinks we had were ok. Not strong enuf. We had the flights of rum drinks. Pretty... but not strong. The flavor of the food was ok.... maybe too much going on? Pretty looking dishes, though.

The place is great - it’s beautiful, cozy and overall has a great vibe. But the food is average at best. My mahi mahi was overcooked (to my taste), no red meat at all so it was very dry. But on the other hand the shrimp was amazing. Some of my friends also had mixed feelings about the food - liking the shrimp and not so much the main course. Also Candace provided really good service - she definitely deserves a raise!

Rice was all mushy and undercooked, $40 lobster tails were tiny and impossible to get out, shrimp were tiny and over or under cooked. Will not be returning

Made a reservation on Opentable for 8pm. Got there early and was sat and given two menus and some water and sat for a half an hour as our waitress and other staff walked around and never came back to our table. Our waitress sat another table and got them drinks and appetizers but quickly walked away before we could get her attention. Made eye contact with her several time but she quickly walked a different direction. Not likely to go back if this is how you treat customers on a Valentine's Day date. Went elsewhere and was given exceptional service. A shame the same can't be said for here.
