Great Mexican food and a local Rose-Rich Staple, I always enjoy the fajita enchiladas. If I remember correctly, this was the same restaurant that started in Rosenberg across the street across from Eckerd Drugstore. I had some great memories at both this location and the original one. The food is always great and you get what you pay for.
We've been meaning to swing in here for years and finally did tonight, which was Kids Eat Free night! Salsa was really good, and not too spicy for the kids, but also perfect for the adults too! Salsa can make or break it for me on a Mexican restaurant and it was perfect (for us). Beef fajita had a good slightly smoked taste which hit the spot! There are specials every night too.
I absolutely love the discounted street tacos on Wednesday's. It's become a weekly tradition for our family. Two usually fill me and if I force down a third (because they're delicious) I feel absolutely stuffed. $12 to feed the family is a steal for takeout.
Good cozy hometown restaurant. No matter what we order it is fresh and super delicious. The owner is always there and checks in with each table to make sure everything is good. Great margaritas especially on a hot summer night.
Always great food at reasonable prices.
Best food and great Margaritas. Staff is super nice and the owner is always there making sure everyone is happy. He also is very involved in the community and is always giving back. One of the finest in Fort Bend.
DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the best mexican food restaurants in town. Very charitable business as well, so that’s another great reason to eat here. The owner/manager, Andres, is such a friendly, welcoming guy, too. We’ll definitely be back in the future! I highly recommend the chicken fajitas👍🏻
Great Mexican Food and large portions!! They have a friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. The patio is nice and they have live music. Very clean and they are practicing all safety protocol! It's a "must try"!!
Came here for the first time yesterday, we both had grilled chicken dishes and we both enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be back to try out other menu items. Definitely worth trying out.
Andres is a great man and sure puts his heart and soul into his work. He gives a lot back to the community and that matters to me. Aside from this, he has an excellent menu. I've also been to a few functions he catered and they were all excellent as well. Recommend this place to anyone in the Pecan Grove area for the "go to" Mexican Food restaurant.
I have been coming to La Cocina since they opened YEARS ago. Best fajitas in the area!!! Service is always nice. Their coconut and mango ice cream are also a good way to end your lunch or dinner. They also serve breakfast on the weekends.
We were introduced to this place many years ago when friends lived in the area. They have since moved on to other parts of Houston and we were living outside of the city, so no opportunities to patronage this location. we have recently moved back into the area and have been here two or three times over the past month. The staff is extremely friendly and assertive from the moment you walk in the door we grew up in another part of the state where apparently sour cream enchiladas is a normal item whereas in the Houston market it is not. We asked if they were able to help us out and without hesitation they sent someone from the kitchen who listened to what we were trying to order and they were able to create the sour cream enchiladas for us. They were outstanding and we highly recommend you either trying or coming back to this particular location. As I said we have been there several times lately, on a Friday night, and the business was very slow. We would encourage you to give them another chance or to seek them out if you haven't been there.
La Cocina is a mainstay of Richmond Texas. Not only is the Tex-Mex delicious (my favorite are the chicken enchiladas), but the waitstaff is attentive and the restaurant is clean. They have great outdoor seating, and you will frequently see the owner, Andres, making rounds to greet customers with his contagious smile. The restaurant is also a proud supporter of local non-profit Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels.
Excellent place to order for sports events to go the 2195 per person for beef and chicken fa are the best deal
I am glad we found this place. I have tried a few Mexican Restaurants near us, and La Cocina was our favorite so far. The service was a little slow as they seemed short handed, however despite this, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. I always rate Mexican Restaurants on how they make their Spanish Rice/arroz, because if it is made right and the time taken to make it, then I know the food will be good. This rule of thumb hasn't failed me yet! Their arroz was delicious. The Al carbon fajita meat was seasoned well and tender and the flauta was crispy and had a generous amount of chicken in it! The salsa was just right and so was the pico de gallo that came with my plate. All in all we were satisfied that we found this place.
Ordered the Fort Bend County Meals on Wheels special and a chicken burrito. Delicious! The shrimp were the best I've ever had. Will come by during lunch hours next time (when the same menu items are lower-priced).
Great food. Girls loved their quesadillas and crispy taco place. Hubs LOVED the cheese enchiladas "some of the best I've had". My street taco was delicious. Loved the casual atmosphere. Very kid friendly.
Mid afternoon, so I was the only patron there. But service was prompt and friendly, and did not hover over me. My iced tea was filled with out me asking, very excellent service! Food was good, tasty, and filling. I completely cleaned my plate.
Ordered the fajitas and were pretty darn good. Wasn’t busy when I was here but looking at the layout of the restaurant I can see this place being a nice little hole in the wall to order a margarita or just sit at a table and make some friends. Overall dog gone nice little place.
Our first visit, and we were greeted with friendly staff, wonderful drinks, and amazing food! They made my wife’s margarita to order, and it was perfect! The fajitas were perfectly cooked and flavored. The corn and flour tortillas were the best I’ve had outside of Mexico, and the staff was very attentive. We will be back often.
We've been coming here for years. It's a great Tex-Max place just outside the neighborhood. Staff is always friendly and food always great! For a while, we'd come in and our regular server knew our order without even asking. If you haven't been here, give it a shot - prices are great!
We went Friday night for the first time. I'm sad we didn't try this place sooner but glad that we did. Unfortunately our 1yr old was restless so we didn't get to stay the whole time to eat but the staff was amazing & very sweet to our cranky son. Our daughter is a picky eater & loved your food. We got to enjoy our meal at home & it was delicious! We also got to meet the owner while we were packing up to go. He was very attentive to his customers to make sure everyone was happy. We definitely look forward to coming back!!
Absolutely delicious! Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Also very clean. I would definitely highly recommend this place!! This is my new favorite Mexican Restaurant. I will definitely be back whenever I want Mexican food!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to comment about the AMAZING customer service we received tonight! We ordered take out and paid for 2 frozen margaritas with our dinner. When we got home, we realized we never received our margaritas. When we called to let them know, we spoke to the owner Andres Novoa who was adamant about making it right. He drove to our house and personally delivered our margaritas to us (upgraded to top-shelf). We’ve always enjoyed the food/drinks here, but the owner truly goes above and beyond for his customers. If you’re on the fence about coming here - do it! You won’t regret it :)
Andres, the owner goes around the restaurant welcoming the guests. My go to are the charro beans, the chili relleno, the quail and the ribs. The servers are the best. My go to cocktail is a frozen Margarita with Sangria 😗😋. My son and his wife love the street tacos. My husband is restaurant quality Corona. And we have done take out too. Love how it is prepared for take out. We shall keep going to our favorite Mexican Cocina; the food, the friends, did I forget desert? The sopapillas are delicious 😋🤤.
I love this place they have the best street tacos among other things on the menu and everything Fresh . I don't know how anyone can leave a negative reviews on any of their dishes most likely don't know what Mexican food is lol .Their Street Tacos are just delicious and when you order to go you get salsa pica digao, Large bag of Chips and choice of Chicken or Beef they are very tasty and portions are not small loaded with meat. I order here every Wednesday where can you get a delicious home made Street Taco 🌮 for $1.75 made fresh to order ? Their prices are great on anything you order and everyone is very attentive and smiling with great service .
This is what a restaurant needs to be, great service, great food and great prices. Food always taste good. The owner Andres Novoa is awesome not only he makes money and pays his employees but he also is aware of the community and ALWAYS helps. Stop by the place and you see how many recognitions he has received. Meals on Wheels, Exchange clubs among many others have recognize this man and his business. Please keep supporting him we need more business people like him. Thank you Andres for the great things you do for the community.
Best place to eat at anytime
Consistently excellent food, great service, and good prices. Socorro takes great care of us every single time.
Me, my mom and my adult kids have been coming here to eat as long as I can remember. Also my extended family. A few months back we had my daughter's college graduation party catered. Food arrived early, well packed and delicious. Received lots of compliments. We also had them cater my niece's wedding shower a few months before that. Great fajitas and service every time!
Good food and good margaritas, excellent sevice(Jose)knows what you want before you get there.
Amazing salsa amazing food here every Sunday love the people
I am a weekly visitor to LA Cocina, and WOW! they are truly incredible, and the food is beyond belief each and every time you visit. The waiters and waitresses are absolutely unforgettable, and they make you feel like you are at home, amongst friend and family.
This is a hidden treasure! Charro beans, was amazing and fajita chicken amazing, cheese enchiladas amazing cheese pull they got it!! The gravy was amazing too!! Thr guacamole was cold and yummy when it came out and fresh The staff was friendly and wonderful And the salsa is what I love and they give huge portions!! Me and my mom will return again!!!
Really good food. I hear the skinny margaritas are the best, but I got the regular margarita which was extraordinary. Nice staff everyone was nice. So happy to live across the street from this place. I will come again. The food taste very fresh. Reminds me of the fresh food from other countries I have been to.
Great place to eat Mexican / Tex Mex food. Friendly staff and awesome environment.
La cocina has become one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always excellent, the beef fajitas and chicken fajitas are my go to. The cocina Rita’s have become my favorite margaritas in town. The rice and beans are excellent as well.
Been enjoying eating at La Cocina for 25 years. Great fajitas! Try La Sirena - best dish ever!
Delicious food, great margaritas, great service and friendly atmosphere! We love La Cocina!
Street tacos best I've ever had. will make Weds night tacos a consistent outing. Thank you Andreas!!
My waitress Karla is always super, food is always fresh and delicious! 100% recommended
Great food and staff. Ricky was our waiter. As usual everything was great . Highly recommend. .
Great Wednesday street tacos! Always a good time with friends at La Cocina!
La Cocina is hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant and has been for years. Andres, Jose, Ricky, Coco, and the entire staff are just incredible. They are so friendly and welcoming… they know us by name, know our order, and somehow always have margaritas and queso on the table as soon as we sit down. It truly feels like home every time. Both of our girls have chosen to celebrate multiple birthdays here, and my husband and I have celebrated ours here too. That should tell you everything. We’ve worked our way through almost the entire menu and you honestly cannot go wrong with anything. A new Mexican restaurant opened just down the road, and we tried it… but it doesn’t even compare. The food, the service, the atmosphere… La Cocina just does it better. They just started serving breakfast and it is SO good. We’re so excited about it. The lunch and dinner menu and happy hour are amazing too. If you want great food and to be treated like family, this is your place!
Real Mexican food made by the best! I had the El Charro dinner: fajita taco, crispy taco, puff chile con queso, rice and beans with the fixings. Too much food and took home the rest. Quick and friendly service! Looking forward to going back for more!! Margaritas are amazing but it’s a work night! 🩵💀
What a find!!! We tried several menu items and were totally satisfied with quality and quantity of the servings. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming. We were warmly welcomed by the owner Andres and our waitress Coco. Charming! Margaritas were perfect! Do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful restaurant!
This place is amazing!! I highly recommend their margaritas you really get a bang for your buck. The service is always so attentive and friendly, they have offered us a free desert and kids meal a few times, and if you do decide to dine in Carla is fantastic!!
My husband & I have been eating at La Cocina since before they moved to their “new” location 25 years ago. I just realized I have never left a review. You don’t keep going back to a restaurant almost weekly if it is not a good place to go. We like the food, the atmosphere, & friendly staff. I do t know of another place that serves good frozen margaritas for less. Our daughter started going there with us when in middle school & now her 2 daughters in high school & college like to come back for the chicken quesadillas. Give yourself a treat & spend a little more for their house special, La Sirena - a generous, delicious charbroiled chicken breast stuffed with shrimp & covered with a creamy mushroom, wine sauce. I always have enough left over for the next day. Their fajita packs to go have become our Christmas Eve go-to & favorite for our extended family. Make LaCocina a must visit place in the near future.
This place is AMAZING! Love the charro bean and on Wednesday they have the street taco special 🤤🤤 Coco is one of the server, we love her! Owner is very friendly and polite!
We love coming here. The staff knows us well. The food is great and the service is even better.
I went to La Cocina for lunch because what they make, the presentation and the flavor is unreal. Plus, the owner Andres and his girlfriend and always there and outstanding business owners. They are so friendly and I love the way they are as restaurant owners, which is how it should be. I been to Mexico over eighty times plus in Mexico City over twenty and in Mexico City they serve some of the best food I have ever eating. I am 100 percent German and we love pork! I saw this their Pork Delight - Succulent chunks of slow simmered pork in our red achiote spice w/ green tomatillo sauce. It was something my father Chef Werner would make, a little different with species but it looks the same. I loved it. The flavor, the spice, how tender the pork was. It brought back memories of my father’s making this just a little different. Any pork lovers out there get it but ask for more of that gravy over it!
I came here last week and the waitress Harla waited on my table. She is amazing and had great customer service !! The food was delicious as well especially the charro beans !! If you want great food come here.
My family and I been going to this restaurant for couple years already, I haven't seen a better place to eat, the k yoi for an amazing service great food and ambiance, love this place 100% recommend
“What a fantastic experience! Everything we tried was delicious, but the cocinaritas truly stole the show — they’re the best I’ve had anywhere. Friendly service, great portions, and a cozy atmosphere make this spot a must-visit. Highly recommend!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Visited Texas from Florida came to LA COCINA and had the best tacos! Margaritas are amazing! Definitely will be coming back I highly recommend this place!
Just want to give a shout out to my favorite place to eat. La Cocina Mexican Restaurant in Richmond. Best food around and always consistent. When your Refried Beans are delicious and even better your Charro Beans how can you not keep coming back. Great service all around. Especially Karla who always takes care of us. La Cocina we appreciate your service in the restaurant and the community.
There’s not a visit I make here without begging for more atomica salsa! If you haven’t tried it, you really should. I love the fajita chicken nachos and carne guisada 🩵 So family friendly, such a sweet environment. I will always make time to come here. The servers are such a treat as well! I really love the tortilla soup too!!!! They also have really good shirley temples! 🩵🩵🩵 Thanks for serving this community for as long as you guys have.💕💕
Great Mexican Restaurant! The food here is amazing — everything tastes fresh and full of flavor. The margaritas are absolutely delicious, and the prices are very affordable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for good Mexican food and a great atmosphere!
It's perfect little place to just pop in and pop out. Everything tast amazing and the service is fast and kind. The patio is pretty nice and the atmosphere is great especially when they have a band.
I love this place. The service is always good and fast. Food is even better. Awesome Tex-Mex! The portions are also huge! My favorite dish from here is the Marinero.
Great enchiladas, good fajitas and excellent margaritas. I came with a party of 11 people and our service was very good considering our size and we had everything on the menu, from quesadillas to fajita and eveything in between. I imagine it would have been even better with a smaller, notmal size group. Plus they were busy outside of our large group. The food was fresh and delicious. We had one person with special dietary needs and they accommodate her even though it wasnt on the menu. Friendly and professional.
This is an incredible Mexican restaurant that I would put up with any Mexican food in Houston!!! Andres, the owner, is super friendly and has a very intricate menu! La Sirena for the win! MAMACITA! This is a 7 star restaurant in a 5 star Google World ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Check out their specials… we will see y’all on street taco Wednesday!!!!!
I had such a great experience at this casual Tex-Mex gem. The bean and cheese nachos were the perfect mix of crispy and cheesy—honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. The puffy queso was dangerously good; light, creamy, and packed with flavor. And the enchiladas? Total comfort food—rich, satisfying, and made with obvious care. The laid-back vibe and friendly service made it even better. This is the kind of place you keep coming back to when you want something delicious and unpretentious. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Finished visiting Brazos Bend State Park and we were craving some yummy Mexican food, I googled a few Mexican restaurants near by and came across La Cocina. It had great reviews and it didn’t look overpriced! As soon as I tried their chips and salsa, I knew everything else would most likely be delicious and I was in fact correct. Service was friendly and fast and the food was yummy and fresh. Needless to say we will be back here again.
My wife and I dine out almost every night and I can say without a doubt La Cocina is one of the best Mexican restaurants not only in Richmond/Rosenburg area but possibly in all of Houston. We are never disappointed here. The food is wonderful and the staff is excellent and professional. The owner is there quite frequently and you can tell he really cares about not only his guests having a wonderful dining experience, but he also cares for his staff which really shows on how guests are treated. We are always treated like family here. Always greeted with a smile and this makes us feel so comfortable when we walk in. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests, and seem to truly care about your dining experience with them. The dining room is very casual and there is a small bar area in a separate room with multiple TV’s for watching a big game that might be on. They have incredible food and drink specials throughout the week, with each day a different special. The owner has done many updates recently and one of those is the patio. The new patio has comfortable seating and new running lights that make for a good mood and ambiance for when the weather is nice to dine outside. The food is incredible here, we have never had a bad meal in the many time we have visited. Our dinner always comes out fresh and hot, it’s all made from scratch using fresh ingredients. They have some of the best fajitas we have even tasted. We have tried most of the items on the menu and while you can’t go wrong on any of the menu items, out favorite is the street tacos which is a bit spicy but oh so good. I’m not sure what they use to give them that flavor but it’s out of this world good. I personally can’t eat just one. I usually finish the street tacos with a tasty margarita which I find can’t be beat here. They have just right with the balance between tequila and mix. They only serve breakfast on the weekends till noon, but this is not to be missed, the breakfast tacos are the best deal in town. One is enough to fill you up for the day. Many different breakfast tacos to choose from. If you are in the area or just looking for a new place to try, do not hesitate to try La Cocina. It’s a very relaxing place with a nice atmosphere where, although upbeat and fun, you can still carry on a conversation with each other without yelling across a table, great for a date night. Highly recommend.
Really great prices and pretty good food. Decent salsa and we'll above average taco meat. The rice is a bit bland, and the cheese enchilada contents we're not very melted.
It's been a while since I've been here. The food was good and the value matched the pricing. Staff is very nice. Convenience to neighborhood is a plus. I would only suggest more cozy or warm lighting.
The food was great with large portions. The margaritas were also tasty, I wish that they were jumbo size but they did the trick. Will definitely be going back soon!!
Food tasted like Grandma was in the back of the restaurant cooking for me. Food was fresh and full of flavor. Would have liked the food to be a little bit more spicy, but nothing a bit of hot sauce can't fix. There's street tacos were amazing and so were their fajitas(Tuesdays was $19.99 for fajitas for 2 and Wednesday are $1.50 street tacos). They deliver also. That's great. Margaritas were okay so I ended up going to a top-shelf margarita which remedied that problem. Staff was friendly greeted you on time and happily met our needs.
Friendly staff and good food/drinks. Love coming here when the weather is warm and sitting on the patio enjoying a margarita. There is plenty of parking and we’ve never had to wait for a table. I have also had them deliver to the house and had a pleasant experience with delivery.
I love supporting businesses like La Cocina because they are so involved in supporting the community. The food is pretty good and the staff are terriffic. They always have specials if you are on a budget.
The street beef tacos were great. I thought they were a little pricier than they should be, they were $3.50 each, were only topped with guacamole but with no sides at all! The quesadilla was okay and the chips & salsa were quite good👍 We will be back on Wednesdays when they have them half off 😉🤫
Service wasn't very friendly or talkative. Didn't offer any condiments or extra napkins. Didn't feel very welcomed and was given side eyes by some of the servers. But overall nice food. Good amount. Very nice cold alcoholic beverages.
Service is really good, have not been able to eat in house but do pick up order. But food is delicious and the servings are great. I drive 30 mins to come and order and food is still nice and hot and super fresh! Can not complain it’s must try!
I've liked this restaurant since it started in Rosenberg in the old Camino Real/ElToro space back in the 90s. Now that I don't live locally, I have to stop in at least once a visit back to the area and am always happy when I do. Service is always great, regardless of how many patrons are there. Food has consistently been good over the years. I tend to be stuck in my ways at this point as I generally ask for either cheese or fajita enchiladas and I've never been let down by that decision. Here's to many more years of success for this place!
It was my first trip to LA Cocina. It was 1 pm. on a Sunday, and I was starving. I always order the chicken Flautas whenever I go to a new Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was a little busy , but the service was swift . The Flautas were delicious , and the order comes with beans, rice, and sour cream . The rice and beans were perfect. I just wish it came with a third Flauta . I ate the entire plate clean . Even so ,the price was justified, which makes this an excellent choice to stop by . I will be returning to explore the menu some more. Great job, LA Cocina !!
Went there Sunday night; food was good, but service was sub-par. Our server kept disappearing. We had to prompt wait staff to take our order, check on our appetizer, refill our drinks, get our check...you get the idea. I could understand if it was busy, but it was not.
Walk in and the table and floor was very dirty, we ask to please be cleaned before we sit down, and that's probably why the service was very poor. The food was decent not the greatest, the lack of flavor was significantly noticable.
We like this place and usually have a good experience. Their breakfast tacos or great and fajitas are also great. We went there to pick up a to go order tonight and arrived after the 10 minutes they told us it would be for our order. When we get there and tell the name on the order the girl working there ( Stephanie ) says it going to be a while and motions her hand around at the other people waiting . I have been in the restaurant business for 20 plus years and I know how stressful it can be. However if you are behind and aren’t going to meet the time given for us to pick up our food at least be some what apologetic. If the girl working the to go ( who seemed like the manger ) was working in one of my stores with this attitude I would want to know. This place is good I like supporting local places but the owner needs to know who is working or running his or her store.
It's been a while since I had visited (3+ years) and I figured I try it again. Service was good but the food lacked flavor. Refried beans were very bland and the rice tasted burnt. The grilled chicken breast tasted good at first but the grill plate it was served on was so hot by the time I made my second taco the chicken was burnt on the bottom. I guess I'll try again in another 3+ years...
To be honest, I was excited to try this place. They have a high review count. Now that that is said, I don't know who is giving such praise so stop it. I'm very disappointed and will not be back. They are proud of their food and the price shows it. I ordered nachos and a drink and it was $20. There were 12 chips on the plate with beans and a lot of them, cheese and a beef fajita, a small dab of sour cream and guacamole. Not much of a plate at all. The staff was friendly though so that's a plus.
Not clean tonight. Very disappointing. The food would have been good except knowing the menus were handed to us with food on them from previous customers. Waiter was friendly but not clean. This made us wonder how the food was being prepared. Overall not satisfied. Unless they change their cleanliness, l would not recommend.
I ordered a ‘cup of tortilla soup’ as an appetizer with the rest my meal. Instead, I was given and charged for an entire additional entree with rice, beans etc along with my enchiladas entree order. This DOUBLED my bill! The waiter had a dismissive, careless attitude. I had to ask a very hardworking, positive waitress to get my check. The food was ok, but not all that flavorful.
On 10/7/22 my husband and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant.. My husband is a chef, and I am a Registered Nurse so on Fridays we don’t cook at home. We sat at our table, and one of the helpers brought us cold chips and salsa. Ok! We waited for almost half an hour with no menu, do my husband got up and got us two menus. No problem! However, the restaurant manager whom looked at me twice gave other customers their menus. He even greeted the table in front of us and behind us but not us. I would hate to think that it was because we are Afro Latino, but that’s what it looked like to me! It is very sad to see a none white Hispanic treat other Brown people in such a way. Needless, to say we will not go there again. The waitress was nice, but I would not recommend this restaurant for none white people.
I went here with my family and was excited when the salsa was good. Service was also great, but the meat was flavorless. Cooked well, but like they forgot salt/seasoning. Sadly we won't be returning...
I just left this restaurant today 6-28-18 around 6pm and I’ve never experienced a more unprofessional wait staff. We never got a greeting when we walked in, we didn’t get our whole order, my glass went empty and stayed that way for too long even after several waiters and bus boys/girls passed by and directly looked at our glasses and then to top it off didn’t get a greeting on the way out and basically everyone working here seemed like they didn’t want to work. Me and my future wife have been taste testing several restaurants to cater our wedding and this place went directly to the “definitely not” list.
I ordered lunch from here today and 2 of my cards were declined so the person at the counter took the food and placed it on a table away from us. He tried again and the card went through (I think it was his machine). When I asked "Can I get my food now?", he pointed and said "it's over there". Worst treatment ever, he didn't even ask if I had cash (which I did). I went there for lunch not to steal food. In fact I didn't get cheese in my "Fajitas for One", so if anything I'm the one who was robbed/shorted. I will probably not be going back to this place and I will tell everyone I know about the service I received today. Yes I have met you, I just found your restaurant over the holidays and the food is great. I understand the internet was down it was his treatment and reaction that was horrible.
16$ FOR BAD SHRIMP My buddy and I went to eat here we were both extremely hungry and he told me it's a good little spot. We sit down and order. My buddy says he wants tortilla soup with no mushrooms. The waiter instantly says "It's already cooked with it." My friend responded "that's fine", then I ordered the shrimp cocktail. 10-15 Minutes pass and I receive my plate and it is super small amount of shrimp and in a little bowl. That's just the beginning of the problems.. The plate had more crackers than actual my order.. I take a bite of the shrimp and instantly taste like metal/iron. I had to get up and go to the restroom to spit it out. After that my buddy says "tortilla soup por favor?!" The waiter then proceeds to say he didn't order it and tell him he said something else and he didn't want it. I tried to explain he said he didn't want the mushrooms but said it's ok. On top of all that we were the only customers in there. Got the tab and left STILL HUNGRY
We placed a pick up order for the first time at this place. They did not honor the prices that were set online! The menu pictures were not even readable so I went off the menu without the pictures. No, I did not go directly to the website as this was a quick order. The price she gave me over the phone did not match to what I ordered. Upon opening the plate, the$30 LA Cocina aka el churasco was very little for the price and over cooked. I called and complained-first the prices were not honored and second the food did not do justice to the price. HAD THE FOOD BEEN REASONABLE TO THE PRICES NOT LISTED ONLINE I would have been ok. Manager was no help. I even left message to the owner but no call back!! Won't go back there again. Lesson learned.
They overcharged me for drinks to go, and when I said the price on your menu is different, the waiter said you have to order while eating here for that price. Then i pointed out that the price is also cheaper right next to you at the to go station, and again, he said you have to eat here for that price! (This was 2 other prices, btw) The drink didn't even taste like there was alcohol in it, so it was a waste of over $13 for a small drink! The food I got was NOT worth the price I paid! I got maybe 5 tortilla chips covered in meat, beans, and cheese. Which was nothing for $15. There was more garnish than food in the to go box! Then i ordered queso, and it was the same size as the to go salsa, so they clearly don't size the queso like the menu reads! Overall, I was very disappointed with this place and wish I had just kept driving!
Food prices did not match quality and the service was subpar.
