My quest is finished. I have found the best chicken wings, the smoked Korean BBQ wings. Thank you Maple Tree BBQ for being so extra sweet and lovely to my husband and I when we stopped for lunch on our anniversary road trip!

Loved it! The food was absolutely delicious, and their mixed drinks had just the right kick. Their outdoor seating area had a fire pit which is a huge plus in my book.

Took my friend out for his birthday here today. Sat at the bar and the warm friendly bartender who takes customer orders really went out of her way to make us feel special. She’s an absolute gem. The food was absolutely stellar. We ordered a wide range of meats and sides and everything was cooked to perfection. Fatty brisket, burnt ends, smoked wings in that Alabama white, pastrami, pork ribs…and so on. Everything was perfectly tasty, tender and smokey. I’ve been cooking barbecue for friends and family for decades and have judged competition BBQ for KCBS for almost as long…This place is the real deal. Everything is made with love, care and quality. If you know BBQ then you know this place is legit. You’d be hard-pressed to find better BBQ anywhere on the Island.

Eat here on Friday with my boyfriend and we loved it. The inside is cute and cozy with a small bar with a couple beers on top and some options in the fridge. We got the combo platter, the fatty brisket was to die for. So tender and juicy and moist. The sweet chicken was really really good too. For sides, I really enjoyed the cornbread and the potatoes. The mac & cheese was so so for me, but I can be a little picky about mac & cheese. Really looking forward to coming back and trying different meats here.

As always, the food was perfect! Their smoked meats are incredible! I just had a beef brisket sandwich (The Texan), and I can’t speak highly enough about it! Don’t pass this place by, it’s awesome!!

I didn't know they knew how to make bbq this far north. The Brisket was very good and moist great bark to it. Also had the pastrami, and it was so soft and delicious. Very worth it.

I got the comb meat plater: half chicken, brisket with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The food was excellent and the guy took my order helped me picked the two sides. I would definitely go back again.

We nearly drove past this place, but we turned around. Thank God we did. First off, the ordering process was simple and the girl who took our order was a sweetheart. I had the St Louis Pork Ribs and my wife had the Salmon Tacos 🌮 with one Pulled Pork Taco tossed in. And cornbread. The smell of BBQ fills the air and you can tell these folks are serious about BBQ. The Ribs were divine. The meat was falling off the bone. I couldn't eat the whole rack, but tomorrow is another day! My wife loved the Salmon Tacos and enjoyed that the salmon WAS NOT FRIED and BREADED. Just smoked salmon perfection. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Loved maple tree. The prices and portions are fair, the people are extremely friendly, but what got it 5 stars was the food. I cannot say enough about the food. Highly recommend to anyone in riverhead, especially after a day at the aquarium as it’s about a 5 minutes drive. Brisket was a+, and recommend getting a piece of cornbread as well Restroom was clean & seating is wheelchair accessible. Looked like outdoor seating was available. There’s parking across the street but you can also park just in front of the building on the street itself

Went today with my family. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly and kind to our 2 year old. The food was excellent! I really enjoyed the pastrami and the brisket. Both were extremely flavorful and juicy. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're nearby.

The ribs were tender and cooked just right. The food here is flavorful and not too salty. There are additional parking space across from the restaurant.

We were a group of 8 including 2 toddlers, walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. Pleasant customer service. Food was excellent!! The only complaint that I would say is that I wish they would expand to Nassau County.

I've had the best rib bbq in New York. Definitely recommend to visit. Pastrami sandwiches are also great.

Love this incredible BBQ spot. We ordered the half chicken and 1/4 brisket. Delicious Smokey flavor!! The sides are huge! And you can’t beat the price. We will definitely be back!

We can’t resist bbq places, so we stopped here driving through Riverhead. The place is nice, there is a huge menu on the wall so you need to order the food and then go to your table where staff will bring your food. The menu is really interesting and prices are good. We ordered a pulled pork platter with potatoes salad and smoked beans, and a cheese sandwich with mac and cheese. Everything was good, the pulled pork could be better honestly. There are tables inside and outside, we sat outside under a tree and we really enjoyed our meal

Great spot open until 8:30 pm. Excellent food and good drink selection. Ribs and sides were delicious!! A bit noisy with the vaulted ceiling but that's what I expect in a bbq joint ! Plenty of seating and not rushed at all. Quick 10 walk to the train station. 6 minute walk to Long Ireland Brewery if you have time to kill before your train west. Will be back for sure !

First time here. Great menu selection, friendly staff, reasonable prices and excellent food. I had the ribs, corn bread and seasoned potato's. Everything was delicious, was fresh and was hot. The restaurant was clean and the bathroom (there is only one), was spotless.

This might be the best BBQ spot in NY. No BBQ place in the city comes close to here. Their brisket was so tender and juicy, the pulled pork was just as juicy and flavorful. Their spicy BBQ sauce really adds a nice level of heat and tang! Also don't skip on their Chili Mac, it's the perfect blend of cheesy and chili 😋

Always on point. This is the only place for true, smoked, fall off the bone, st Louis dry rub ribs. That is all, bonus! eat by the river. Views to love ❤️ try the bbq clam chowder.

Absolutely wonderful experience, the food was RIDICULOUSLY delicious and the service was incredible. Highly recommend the brisket, pulled pork and corn bread. Don’t forget the lemonade! What made it all even better was that we were able to sit outside across the street at picnic tables on the water.

Got to go back here today and it was fantastic! For my graduation we had them cater and they did a phenomenal job. Went home to visit my parents today and wanted to go back. We did the Combo Meats Platter and got the North Carolina Pulled Pork and the Beef Brisket. I would recommend to get the Brisket fatty if you have the choice. For our sides we got the Kallards and the Herbed Crushed Potatoes and they were both great! We also got A Full Rack of St. Louis Pork Ribs and I devoured them! The sauces are great also but the meat is seasoned so well you don’t really need them.

Their sauces were amazing. Right amount of spice and I love spicy food. The brisket was tender as I liked. Bread pudding was on the dry side, but I prefer moist like a tres leches cake, it was still super flavorful and sweet. Mac n cheese was just right. Coleslaw was just ok. Cornbread isnt my fav to begin with so not a fan and it was dry. The sides were yummy. Some of the better BBQ I've had in remote areas around the country. Would return and recommend.

Was out in Riverhead between appointments this past Friday and couldn't resist for lunch. During COVID, they are doing it all right: tables spaced out, masks and plexiglass at the register. They have a big menu but the woman who took my order was very helpful. Went with the combo of burnt ends and pastrami. She expertly recommended sauces for the meats. She was spot on. The meat and sauces were excellent. I had coleslaw and beans as my two sides. Again, they did not disappoint. The place has wonderful service, unbelievable barbecue meats and great choice of sides. Highly recommend! I will definitely be back again and again Burnt ends, pastrami, beans and coke slaw!

Staff was nice food was amazing and that cornbread was phenomenal!!!! Combo platter is the way to go!!! Update: 6 years later and I'm back! Gotta say this place is still on point! This time I tried some sandwiches and gotta say the Texan and Cubano is the way to go! Definitely sticking with the slaw and Mac N cheese! Great BBQ spot with a large selection of sandwhiches, platters and sides. Surprised to find such a good spot in the area, although im not from Riverhead so dont know any better. You can smell the smoker going and each meat I've tried has been very good. Small location with not a huge parking lot but seems to move well. Had the texas and the rueban sandwhiches and both were awesome. Would love if they were a little bigger for the cost but satisfying with great quality meat. I had the baked beans which were fresh and tasty but didnt taste any meat mixed in, which i like. They have beer. I should have gotten the mac n cheese since thats what everyone talks about. Will go back!

This is the BEST BBQ I’ve EVER HAD! The smoked wings were divine, the brisket melted like cotton candy & the North Carolina pulled pork was ethereal! Make sure to get the lemonade & try the bourbonade! I plan on going back to Long Island just for their food !

Being in the mood for ribs, I visited this place. When rib platter was served to me, the aroma drove me crazy. The ribs were so delicious I didn't even use the dipping sauce. Of course, I did try the dip with the left overs taken home. The meat was so tender, it fell of the bones and melted in my mouth. The roasted sweet potato and baked beans were tasty as well. It has this classic American Sunday feeling, and I love it. The service was nice, and the food was great. The plate might not look big, but there's actually plenty of food. I'll be back to try more.

As they say on the little rascals...."YUM YUM EAT EM UP" I've decided to try the Maple Tree Smokehouse after getting an email yesterday from Newsday about the top smokehouse on Long Island..... boy I am glad I did!!! I came with my wife and daughter for our first experience, which was awesome!!! The place is small and casual. Their menu is on the chalkboard and is extensive including ribs, chicken, brisket sides etc. We ordered 2 southwest salads with chipotle dressing with a side of pulled pork and pulled chicken. The ladies enjoyed them fully. I had the half rack of ribs which were nice and large and fell off the bone. Their smokey flavor was amazing with their dry rub. We also ordered medium stuffed of baked beans and mac n cheese. Both were delicious and enough to share between the 3 of us. The total came to around $63 which included 2 craft beers, and was worth it! I highly recommend Maple Tree. Gwendolen and her counterpart (I'm sorry I did not get your name) were some!

Employees were chill, and knowledgeable. Sold selection of local craft beer, and the bbq is much better then you'd expect to find in Long Island. Overall fantastic!

WOWO WOWO WOWO…It was my mother in laws birthday & we were looking for something different other than chain restaurants to bring to her. We sure did pick the RIGHT PLACE. For Four adults We ordered TO GO the family meal (very economical $72) it included: one smoked whole chicken, full rack of ribs (VERY MEATY), 2 large sides: sweet potatoes & herb potatoes plus 4 cornbreads and 8 brownie bites. Two Seniors don’t eat too much but we still had food for lunch the next day. Everything was amazing my mother in law loved the food. FYI she’s EXTREMELY PICKEY…. Food had great flavor and smoked taste was delicious. Corn breads & brownie DIDNT Disappoint.. SO GOODDDDDD….. They even gave us silverware of 4 people and napkins. Great service and it was ready before pick up time promised. WE DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK.. thank you They have a parking lot across the street BUT you must be careful crossing A lot of FAST moving vehicles on Main st.

Amazing BBQ!! Very cute, clean place, and the gentleman who took our orders and served us was very friendly and accommodating. We got meat combo platters and ordered extra sides because we just had to try as many things as we could, and they did not disappoint!! The only thing I could have passed on was the smoked Turkey, only because it was way too salty for me - that being said, I could still appreciate how incredibly moist and flavorful it was. I realize salt preference is different for everyone, so it may have just been too salty for me personally. Loved the spicy bbq pulled chicken, braised kale, jalapeño pickles, fresh cornbread, and the mac and cheese. I wanted to keep eating more even after I was stuffed lol. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in - this place is a home run.

My daughter happen to see this place as we were driving by to go to the the Tánger Mall. She suggested we eat there after looking at the menu online. I am so glad we went the food was delicious. The service was great and friendly. I had the spicy chicken wings and a salmon taco. Yummy!!! The sauce on the wings was delicious. The salmon in the taco was tender and moist. Cornbread delicious. Just how I like it. My daughter raved about the brisket sandwich and the potato salad. Thank you for such a wonderful food experience. Will be coming back.

I blindly came to this spot solely because of their high ratings. I ordered the pulled chicken & pork ribs combo with cole slaw and collared greens. Though the pulled chicken is good the pork ribs are to die for!!! Meat falls off the bone. As if the food wasn't enough for me to give 5-stars the staff were so friendly it was like kicking it with old friends for my entire stay! If you live in this area, and you love BBQ you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't try this food!

This place is ridiculously good! The smoked wings are some of the best I ever had. The Carolina Pulled Pork is amazing. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend Maple Tree BBQ even if you don't like BBQ. Definitely coming back!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for four years and we love it. :) Update now five years and we still love it but yesterday I was very disappointed in my turkey sandwich. Meat was underdone and slimy and had a big blob of fat served on the sandwich .

Friendly staff at a nicely deisigned and comfortable place. My Dad really liked the ribs and I enjoyed the Salmon. The herb roasted potatoes was a real standout. The owner Dennis and really helpful and is very nice There is a nice large outdoor seating area in the back and accross the street by the river. Just an update still a wonderful place to eat.

I showed up to this diamond in the rough when looking for some good food when in the area. Everything about this place was awesome. The cute bar serves locally crafted beer along with nicely thought-out cocktails like sangria and margaritas. The owner Denis was present and a absolute joy to speak with. The two meat dinner with sides is a deal and enough for two people making dinner and drinks for 50 bucks an incredible night out. I'm going back to try the great looking wings next time. I loved the pastrami and smoked chicken. Plenty of seating in the backyard weather permitting. Note the early closing time of 830pm.

I was in North Carolina a few months ago and the bbq here was on par with the bbq down south. The pulled pork was phenomenal, especially when combined with the mac n cheese. The staff were very friendly and warm as well.

This place has great BBQ. we had the burnt ends and ribs (smoked twice), both was delicious. Especially the sauce covering the burnt ends, it's the best! Outdoor dinning area is shaded by trees and a couple of umbrellas. 3 huge burner in the back near the outdoor dinning area. We also met the owner who greeted us with a smile while helping the staff cleaning the tables. He asked if we enjoy the food and I compliment him on that sauce. Parking is side street and a spacious parking lot across the street next to the river. Will come back just for that burnt end platter again!

My husband and I have been on the hunt for some really GOOD bbq. This place beyond delivered. The Brisket was cooked to perfection, The ribs were some of the best I've ever had. Cornbread, Mac and Cheese, collard greens, and jalapeno pickles were all insanely delicious. We traveled from sound beach and it was totally worth it. My husband and I were in Riverhead to see the holiday lights and stopped and took food to eat in the car (we had the dogs). There is a tiny park across the street where we parked to eat but we will remember that for nicer weather as it had picnic tables. We placed our order and the food was out quickly. Piping hot and delicious. My husband had the burnt ends platter and i had the brisket platter. It had been a long time since i have had a brisket so juicy and tender from anywhere. I chose the lean cut for my brisket which sometimes can be dry but this was moist all the way through the meat. I had some of their carolina sauce on the side but the meat reallt didnt need anything extra. My husband equally enjoyed his burnt ends and was very impressed with the collard greens. I decided to try the mac and cheese with my platter and it was creamy and flavorful. The cornbread was slightly dryer than I would have liked and they forgot to put any butter in our bag but that probably would have been enough to create the missing moisture. We will definately be back to eat here again if we are in the area.

First timer. Came in on Dec 2, in the afternoon, to ask some questions. The young man (didn't catch his name) was very friendly and patiently answered my questions. I had to get home to take care of my mom, as I was only out on errands. I came back around 5:30pm and ordered dinner (takeout) for my mom's birthday. She loves ribs and we've been meaning to try this place. I lived in another state for over a decade and haven't been here since it was still Maple Tree Deli! She elected not to come tonight, which was kind of a relief as their main parking lot has gravel in it and that is very difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. Since I was alone and it was a miserable rainy night I was able to find street parking alongside the restaurant. I ordered a combo platter for myself comprised of brisket (you get the option of lean or fatty cuts; I chose lean) and pulled pork. For sides I got cornbread and mac&cheese. My mom opted for the 1/4 rack of ribs, coleslaw, and potato salad. Everything came to $42, so about $20pp. I admit I've never had pulled pork in my life but I very much enjoyed theirs! And that brisket was so good. Moist and tender and peppery, and I LOVE peppery meat. The brisket and pulled pork were both juicy, and the cornbread made a very tasty sponge for all the jus! I made myself a little sandwich out of it. My mom enjoyed her ribs but said they were very peppery and she wasn't sure if she'd order them again. She really liked her coleslaw but only said the potato salad was fine. She tried my pulled pork and brisket and liked both. I did not try her coleslaw as it's not my thing. If I had to nitpick it would be that I got a huge glob of skin or fat (?) with the pulled pork that for me was not edible, and it took up about a quarter of the amount of meat I did get. My only other "gripe" (and I'm reaching here) was that the mac & cheese was a little dry but it tasted good so it's not like I would complain about it or send it back. All in all it was a very good meal and we absolutely will return. Portion size was good for us. That was a decent hunk of cornbread, and while i could have eaten more mac & cheese I understand that the platter I ordered came with small sides. I can always upgrade next time if necessary. I ate about half the pulled pork and half the brisket and had to stop myself from polishing off that brisket for fear of discomfort. Oh I almost ordered the "herbed potatoes" and asked the young lady at the counter about it, but she had trouble explaining it so she brought me a sample in a little disposable cup. They sadly were not my thing as the herbs were a little overwhelming so I opted for cornbread. But again, I enjoyed my meal and absolutely will return. Maybe next time I'll order double mac and cheese so I have something to go with the leftover meat. I've got to figure out what to eat this with tomorrow...

Adriana is an awesome person! She guided my husband and I thru the drink and food menu; we ended up with Sangria (delish) and Boubonaide (juicy, smoky goodness). I got Burnt Ends (Good), and Wings (Fabulous) with beans (delish) and potato salad (ok, but wouldn’t get again). Hubby got Pulled pork (succulent) and Ribs(to die for) with Mac and cheese (good) and kollards (very tasty twist with kale). Tried all the sauces. Alabama Sauce our favorite- we bought a bottle. Next time I visit I’ll try different foods. Atmosphere in the restaurant is homey and when we saw into the kitchen as the door swung open there were smiling people in the back and a very clean kitchen. An awesome unexpected lunch! Try this lovely restaurant - you won’t be disappointed and thinking about it for days afterwards?”!

This barbecue place slaps! You know it’s a legit place when you ask for brisket and they follow up with “lean, fatty or tips?” I asked their recommendation and the guys just smiled and said “fatty” haha who doesn’t like or want a fatty 😉 A sushi restaurant could have serve me their pastrami over rice in omakase and it would have been on point! To think we were going to go to chipotle for lunch, thank god we decided to go here. Brisket was great but that pastrami was out of this world! Words don’t do it justice just look at my photos. Food so good, did not need any of their sauce to mask any of the natural meat flavor. Stop scrolling through reviews and just come eat! Super clean place with friendly staff. Did I mention the food is really good?! XD

This seemed to be a small little hole in the place. Most might not even notice this place, but it was pretty awesome. Their sandwiches were SO good and the sides were a perfect match. As well, their sides of briskets were also amazing, especially when they pair it with a variety of sauces that they give you.

Maple Tree BBQ was a great find! I do my own BBQ so I’m always a bit skeptical of BBQ restaurants hoping to not be disappointed. The crew at Maple Tree do an amazing job and everything is on point from the food, atmosphere and customer service. I stopped in on a Taco Tuesday and got the pulled chicken taco, smoked salmon taco, brisket taco, and a side of the burnt ends to try the BBQ. The food was really good but the burnt ends were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. I also had a local IPA which was great. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try more menu items.

Impeccable customer service and hospitality, even with limited traffic in light of the pandemic. As soon as you step on the property, the staff are ready to come out and greet you, one of the staff went as far as to sit us down and explain the entire menu. Very friendly and informative. Quality of the food is good, particularly the pulled pork and pulled chicken were great. Nice, spacious outdoor eating area that is dog friendly, as well as indoor seating if you prefer. Plus the price point is very cheap compared to other barbecue restaurants. Even when we left, the manager of the restaurant went out of his way to come out to our car to say goodbye to us and thank us for coming. Though a bit hidden from the main road and shopping centers, it is certainly worth the detour to come to this place!

We found a Maple Tree bbq, as we were driving out east on Long Island. We ordered some sandwiches, wings and soups. The food was very good and tasty, we will be going back when we travel there again.

The food was delicious. The menu has a lot of choices. Something for everyone. Great place if you like to eat barbecued food.

Return customer. Food is delicious. Portions are not that huge, but you leave satisfied . You order at the counter, and they bring it to you at the table . Outdoor seating is available.

I can only speak for take out menu, although I would love to dine in once they fully open. I got the Carolina pulled pork and the burnt ends. The burnt ends were amazing. The pulled pork was good, but a little light on vinegar for a true Carolina taste. Tremendous portion sizes for the price. Mac and cheese was great, as well as the cornbread, but we felt the beans were a little lackluster. Cocktails were good too and made fresh upon pickup.

Great cozy little place! The food was delicious and the outdoor seating during quarantine was quite nice. I wish they served buckets of that bbq!! It was sooo good. I had the brisket & the Cuban sandwich. Can’t wait to return for some more great food. Also definitely recommend the bourbon lemonade.

Ordered delivery and the delivery time was reasonable. Ordered a pretty substantial amount of food however only three very small sauces were provided. Meat was yummy but could have been more tender.

Great BBQ smoked meat variety. Easy laid back atmosphere. Nice friendly service.

I must say that I recommend trying the pastrami, I loved the potatoes, they were very appetizing with a pinch of herbs, For me beans need a little more flavor.I would come back because I really loved the pastrami

Stopped in yesterday to try the pulled pork tacos. Maybe they were having an off day...the tacos were presented great, but they had no sauce offering nor did the waitperson offer any. My Jalapeño margarita was great, but it came out with the meal — it would have been great to sip while waiting. We ate outside. My husband’s sandwich came out with the wrong side...just an off day all around. We came on the recommendation of a friend. We will try again...maybe it’s just COVID that is causing a lack of attention.

Came here on a weeknight for some BBQ. It started off a little rough at 6:00pm they were out of, or did not prepare, several items listed on the menu. (Two of which I was interested in) I had the brisket and pork shoulder and both were good. The sides were good to though all portion sizes were very controlled. Their Bourbon drink special may have been my favorite item of the evening! For the food portions v. the price, there is better out there but the food truely wasn't bad at all and I would consider going back.

Had lunch here, and it was okay. The location was convenient and parking was good. Service was great and the staff was friendly. To me, the food was only okay. The brisket was nice and juicy but didn't really have flavor. The burnt ends were decent in taste and cooked well. The sauces on the side were flavorful. The mac and cheese was very disappointing. Soft and flavorless. The pickles had a ton of flavor and were probably my favorite thing I ate that day. Overall, it was okay. Maybe it was just an off day when I went?

Parking is across the busy street and there's a slight bend so it makes it difficult to cross especially being handicapped. There's no eating outside where the parking is but there's a little table on the side of the building. There's a sign that states you can sit and eat at the picnic tables but they're old and broken. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Bama, the pulled chicken on a roll. It was dry and the chicken was chewy. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese but it was also dry. My husband ordered the brisket chili with cornbread, wings and a side of mashed sweet potatoes. He said it was good. All in all it was a okay experience.

In a nutshell I can honestly say the food was impressive. Unfortunately the portions were not! It was so bad that the person I ate with had bariatric surgery and we both left hungry. Spent about $45 for my meal including tax and tip [they want you to tip and pay at the counter before you take your food to the table]. Sad thing really is if they gave a good value for what you paid they'd probably be doing 10 times the business!

Pros: decently priced - lots of food. Really good pulled pork shoulder. Cons: Bland food otherwise. Got the fatty brisket which was more lean than not and flavorless. Got the smoked beans and potato salad on side - both really basic or tasteless (especially the beans). If you have had any authentic southern style BBQ and are expecting this place to come close to matching that? Lower your expectations. Nice, local, and clean business. Happy to support.

Got lunch here today. Ribs are delicious, and the chicken was not dry. I also ordered a sourdough grilled cheese and rib family pack to go. The grilled cheese was not grilled, not sourdough, and had very little bacon on it. The family pack did not come with cornbread or brownie bites. My family was disappointed because the cornbread has been delicious. I'm hesitant to dine here again. Maybe it was just not a good day.

We have been long time customers and was always happy in the past. Today was terrible that we had to walk out before even ordering. There used to be a kind young man at counter but now there was one young lady who didn’t acknowledge the patrons as we were just left standing there . The atmosphere felt like it was possibly under new ownership. Dennis would always come around and say hello. What a disappointment. We walked out. Its just not the same and the service is the major factor.

I just did not enjoy the food. It was very underwhelming. It was food, and I am not hungry anymore. But nothing really had flavor unless you put their barbecue sauce on it, which the sauce is good. Atmosphere was nice, service was good. But the food left much to be desired.

Okay atmosphere, small establishment. Food is really bland, lacks flavor, would’ve been acceptable in a retirement home. Very disappointing, maybe the owners tastebuds are off? Will not return, they need to do better.

Where do I start? I’ve never had brisket. That had no flavor. There wasn’t no smoke line. It basically cooked it on a boiling pot of water. The beans no flavor the mac & cheese runny no flavor. When is it so acceptable for a barbecue place to not have flavor.

The staff was very nice but the food is very underwhelming. The brisket tastes like it was only boiled with no seasoning, the burnt ends were 95% barbecue sauce with 5% taste of meat, same goes for the shredded chicken and the beans were underwhelming. They have a good thing going on service wise but I can’t say I’d return for the food.

The ribs were Smoked well but little flavor. The BBQ sauce isn’t very good either. I’m not a fan and I won’t be back.

So disappointed, my chicken was raw, the person who answer the phone said, that’s how bbq chicken is supposed to look like in the inside, ( wrong ) we asked to speak to a manager and he said said the owner had already left, he took my husbands name and phone number and said that he will leave a message for him. It’s been a week and change and we’re still waiting for a call back.

I was not going to write a review initially because I’m from Texas and I kind of walked in knowing it was not the same. And I truly hate hate hate writing bad reviews to fellow business owners, But…then they made the mistake of giving me “sweet tea” which was actually raspberry iced tea and trying to tell me that was their sweet tea..one way to get under a southerners skin is to mess with the sweet tea… I got the brisket platter and bless y’all’s hearts I feel bad for you people because you accept and think that this bbq is amazing.. Just by looking at the brisket it’s pretty obvious they rush the cook meaning there is not someone manning the off set smoker for 24 hours (pit masters) like in the south. Low and slow not pumping them out like Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl. It’s why the fat burns and you get the taste of burned fat instead of that charred bark. Next I don’t know if they use plain firewood to smoke this (I hope not) but there is no flavor besides bbq sauce (real bbq doesn’t need bbq sauce). Tip: introduce mesquite wood and pecan wood and you will see a big difference in flavor. Next the Mac and cheese, listen I know this is the north and you people like the avocado toast crap and trying to be healthy but if the Mac and cheese isn’t giving you diabetes, it ain’t right. No cheese whatsoever on it besides little specs of spotted clumps of cheese. Creamy goodness is the goal… then the cornbread and honestly it tasted just as good as down south no complaints. But then comes the bread… I.e lack there of. Burger buns don’t go with bbq, too much bread.. keep it simple just plain white slices of bread instead of serving sourdough bread? Guys even the Brit’s across the pond know that is a sin and they don’t even believe in god… not to mention my bread was super hard which means it was left out. And again don’t get me started on the “sweet tea” it’s basically a Arizona tea… Bbq is not hard gents but it is easily ruined by lack of love for your craft. This may pass up here but maybe once these Yankees start leaving this little bubble of NY and taste the difference vs southern BBQ.. y’all are in trouble. Kudos on the great music though the atmosphere was one big positive. Also i would think about adding smoked sausages to your menu i havnt seen anyone do that up here and i think it can only benefit your business. I hope this doesn’t come off as rude just constructive criticism, there’s a reason a lot of small town bbq joints down south have Michelin stars. But please do something about that “sweet tea”.
